(Back From The Brink)

(Episode 16)

I don't want you

to get yourself injured

by attempting to pull out the sword in the valley.

You're not putting in effort

for the sake of a better future.

You're just punishing yourself.

That's right.

So what if that's the case? What has that got to do with you?

It breaks my heart.

Not for kids to see!

I know you blame yourself for this.

I know you feel guilty about it.

But what happened in the past wasn't your fault.

No.

It was all my fault.

No, it's not.

I...

I exposed our clan to danger.

It was me.

I trusted the wrong person.

You'd already punished yourself

for many years.

You should forgive yourself now.

Tianyao!

Tianyao,

I said

I had to cross the line you drew

because...

Because I still have ulterior motives.

I should've...

Forget it.

What do you want?

I want

you.

Me?

What do you want me to do?

I don't want you to do anything.

I just want you.

I

Like you.

You!

What type of reaction is that?

I...

I know.

I know I said that before.

But

I said that because I was influenced by Fox Incense.

This time, it's different.

This time,

there's no external influence.

I like you

sincerely,

honestly,

and from the bottom of my heart.

But I...

I don't have a heart.

If so,

I can lend you mine.

In the future,

I'll retrieve your real heart for you.

I'm sorry.

Her heart

is broken.

Isn't this what I wanted?

Stop thinking about it.

I should go to sleep first.

(Tianyao's Mind's Eye)

If so,

I can lend you mine first.

In the future,

I'll retrieve your real heart

for you.

Yanhui.

I hope that after I retrieve my body,

you...

can live a peaceful life.

Flaming Dragon Fang,

the sword of protection.

So, you came back

to prove

that my feelings for Yanhui...

From now on,

only a pure person

like you,

with the intention of protecting others,

can wield this sword.

(But even so, )

(I cannot let go)

(of my past grudge.)

(I will sever all my emotions)

(before I)

(succeed in taking revenge!)

Why are you sighing again?

You two have been sighing all morning.

Right now,

it's just like what the poem has described.

My heart yearns for it ceaselessly,

even in the deepest slumber and...

Waking light.

That's right.

Even in the deepest slumber and waking light.

Your sigh is even louder than mine.

You yearn for your love,

while I yearn for something else.

When

can our lord be cured?

He's going berserk in the ring.

I'm sure he's suffering.

Actually, this is the case.

You see,

I don't think yearning for someone is an issue.

However,

there's no need to lose sleep over him.

If it doesn't work out, why don't you

seek another partner?

Seek another partner?

Do you think

that I'm not good enough for him?

Are you suggesting I should give up?

I think he's not good enough for you.

Flaming Dragon Fang?

Flaming Dragon Fang.

When did you pull it out?

Have you recovered your pure heart?

So,

are you...

Where's the ring?

Before this, we said

we would save the Phantom King

right after recovering the sword.

That's right. We should save my lord first.

Begone!

My Lord!

The Dragon King saved you.

The Dragon King?

Dragon King, thank you for saving me.

Phantom King,

spare the formalities.

My Lord.

My Lord,

you've finally returned to normal.

I missed you.

Xiaoyan,

long time no see.

How have you been?

Don't pull my hair again.

Everyone, sorry about that.

It was embarrassing.

Since you've recovered,

why don't you explain

the presence of the dark aura

within the Misty Forest to us?

Are you a dark practitioner?

Yes.

And you...

You have a fetish for nostrils.

I had no grudges against you,

yet you attacked

my vital point, which is my nostrils.

I'm the largest victim

of the incident.

Sorry about that.

I attacked you

because I thought

you were the villain who annihilated the Phantom Clan.

It's because that villain

was a dark practitioner too.

You're not him.

He's from Qingqiu.

He's a visual spell master.

He lured people who went berserk

into the Misty Forest.

After that, he tortured them

and let them die there

to gather the dark aura.

The forest of tombstones

deep inside the forest

is the place where dark aura gathered.

(Weeping bitter resentment day and night, wandering souls with endless grievances.)

(From Zitai to the desert, a lonely grave faces the sunset.)

However, you need to finish your epitaph beforehand.

I'll carve them on your tombstone later.

No wonder they harbored resentment

before they died.

I understand now.

So, the Phantom Clan

is just like the Shadow Clan.

Both of our clans are victims of the dark aura.

Someone from Qingqiu was actually committing such evil deeds?

Why were the Taoist clans and Spirit Clans

kept in the dark?

That person didn't want others

to discover his evil deeds.

Thus, he targeted

the Phantom Clan.

He used the power of our entire clan

to create

the mist trap within the Misty Forest.

Even we phantom spirits

were trapped within the spell.

We were forced to suppress

the dark aura for the rest of our lives.

Luckily, Dragon King,

you helped us out personally.

Do you still remember

what the dark practitioner looks like?

I only remember

that he

has the scariest pair of eyes

in the world.

So,

do you guys

believe in my words now?

Since you were also trapped by the dark aura,

why don't I help you out?

What are you doing?

Listen.

I'm different from him.

If you do that to me,

I might die.

Yanhui,

his killing intent is so strong.

It's not like he's truly going to kill you.

Fine then.

Since no one

is defending me,

I guess I'll make a move first.

My Lord,

what's happening to your hands?

It is

about time.

Time?

What do you mean?

Don't tell me

you're going to vanish,

just like the people trapped in the forest?

Xiaoyan,

don't be sad.

It's fine.

This is normal.

This is my end.

I was trapped

by the dark aura within the forest

for 100 years.

It wasn't my will

to linger around for so long.

Now,

my wish

has been granted.

No!

If you vanish,

I'll be all alone!

You're the only descendant of our clan.

I'll leave the Phantom Clan

to you now.

This is the root of the Phantom Clan.

You need to put it on.

Put it on.

No!

When you put it on, you'll represent our hope.

No!

I hope that one day,

you can

revive our clan.

Show the world

how glorious and noble

the Phantom Clan is.

Here.

No!

Listen to me.

Remember this.

You must stay strong.

Don't dwell on your sorrows.

Never lose hope for the future,

understood?

I'll entrust our future

to you.

My Lord!

My Lord!

My Lord!

My Lord!

Why didn't you erect a tombstone

to mourn the Phantom King?

My lord has been trapped within the Misty Forest

his entire life.

He should be like me.

He should be

as free as the wind.

Dragon King,

I have a favor to ask.

Ask away.

Can you escort me to Qingqiu

and help me locate the villain who annihilated my clan?

Do you wish to seek revenge?

That's right.

The path to vengeance is arduous.

Moreover, I'm sure Phantom King

doesn't want you to live for the sake of vengeance.

I'm not afraid.

Lord of Dark Aura has harmed so many beings.

If everyone backs off

and lets the villain lead a carefree life

because they fear

the setbacks and hardships of vengeance,

there's no justice

in the world.

Let me interrupt you for a second.

I do agree

that we should head to Qingqiu.

However,

we should follow the order of arrival.

You two

have to help me with my issues first.

Wait.

I think

both of you have missions

that are equally important.

Due to that,

don't you guys think

we should retrieve Tianyao's body before we do anything else?

I can't afford to wait any longer.

Come here.

Didn't I tell you already?

Tianyao and I were deceiving you.

We aren't a real couple yet.

Even if

you bring us with you,

we won't be able to help you out.

However, I've been waiting

too long for this.

You two are the closest thing

to a real couple.

I'll only know if it will work out or not

if it will work out or not

by bringing you guys there first.

Moreover,

what if you encounter Suying again

and put yourself in danger?

I can't stand that.

You don't get to tell me

what to do.

I promise you

I'll take care of the dark aura.

But first,

I need to accomplish my duty.

I can't disregard the lost souls of the Dragon Valley.

I understand.

Dragon King, you have your own vengeance to seek out.

All right then.

I'll bring Yanhui with me.

It's not like I need you

to accomplish my task.

But I need her

to accomplish my task.

You should go.

I have to help him out first.

I promised to help him

before you.

You're just

using her.

If so,

can I tag along?

Maybe I can be of help.

Your Majesty,

Yun said you were leaving.

Your Majesty,

are you angry at us?

Why did you say so?

You're just like Mr. Beiguo.

You were hurt

because of your kindness.

We shouldn't request you

to sever your feelings.

You're not at fault here.

The person who let you down is at fault.

Why would I be angry at you guys?

I've retrieved the Flaming Dragon Fang.

It's time for me to depart

and retrieve my dragon veins.

Your Majesty, I can't bear to part with you.

Me too.

Your Majesty,

why don't you stay here

for one last dinner?

We'll prepare a farewell dinner

for you.

You can depart tomorrow.

All right.

I seek death.

How many times can you revive me?

As long as I'm alive,

I won't let you die.

Take this.

Once you take this, you'll remember everything.

You'll regain your memories.

Everything will be fine by then.

Musheng.

You regained your memories,

am I right?

Musheng!

Musheng!

Did I still fail?

You didn't regain your memories?

How many times can you save me?

Although you've used your magical power

to extend my lifespan,

one day,

maybe today or tomorrow,

fate will take me away.

I will find the Heart Protecting Scale.

I will keep you alive with dragon-scale armor.

No one

can take your life away from me.

Not you.

Not even

fate.

Delicious.

Your Majesty,

will you come back?

I will.

Will you bring that woman back?

If we do return,

it depends on her will.

Eat up.

It's the eighth time.

What eighth time?

His Majesty has been staring at her for the eighth time.

Peng.

Don't tell me His Majesty has also fallen for her?

We should help His Majesty out then.

Why did you steal my drumstick?

I want to try yours.

You recover pretty quickly, huh?

I'm used

to seeing people passing away,

so it's common to me.

I know

that I'll pass away

suddenly

or slowly one day.

That's why

I'll cherish every day I have.

What are you guys doing?

I'm leaving tomorrow,

yet you guys still want to pick on me?

We'll be honest with you.

We didn't treat you nicely

when you were here.

Mainly, it's because you were evil.

You!

Don't be angry. We've amended our ways.

I admit.

We were being unfair

to you in the past.

Now, we're here

to apologize to you.

I'm sorry, Miss Yanhui.

I'm a generous person.

I forgave you guys long ago.

Do you want this?

Here.

If so,

you mustn't vent your anger on His Majesty

because of us in the future.

Come here.

Sit down.

Sit down!

Why are you hiding in this corner

instead of joining us out there?

Why are you still in the mood to eat?

Aren't you going to avenge your clan?

I'm waiting

for the Dragon King to retrieve his body

so that he can help me seek revenge.

Retrieve his body?

Do you think it's easy for that dragon

to retrieve his entire body?

Listen.

You've been staying

in the Misty Forest for too long.

You have no idea

what's going on outside.

Listen.

Guanghan Sect,

Chenxing Mountain,

and all of the Taoist clans

don't want the Dragon King

to retrieve his body.

Right now, he only lacks two more body parts.

Let me ask you this then.

Will you be flustered

if you're a member of one of the Taoist clans?

Will you try to stop him?

That means

you should never let your guard down.

Or,

if there's an opportunity for you to strike,

will you try

to strike him down?

Doesn't that mean

the Dragon King will be in danger?

Of course.

Think about it.

If that dragon dies,

you won't be able to find your sworn enemy.

In the end, you will vanish.

How could you face your lord

in the afterlife then?

What should I do then?

You and I should join hands

and bring Yanhui to Qingqiu.

Why should we bring Yanhui to Qingqiu?

Didn't you hear what the dragon said?

He said he required Yanhui

to accomplish his task.

If we bring Yanhui to Qingqiu,

he'll definitely come after us.

By then,

I'll force him to accomplish my task

and then your task.

After that, we can go and retrieve his body

without any worries.

And everyone can live happily ever after, right?

All right!

So, how can we

bring Yanhui to Qingqiu?

You drank the dew we offered you.

That means

you forgave us for what we'd done.

In the future, if His Majesty does fall for you,

you shouldn't be

prejudiced against him

because of the pranks we pulled on you.

You said if.

If only it were true.

I hope

we can see you in the valley

again.

What's wrong?

I saw

something weird

over there.

Something weird?

It's...

Why don't you follow me?

Let's go.

Come on.

Where's the thing you mentioned?

It's...

It's...

It's that thing.

Where?

This one.

This is the one.

This one?

Where is it?

Yanhui.

What should I do?

Have I done something bad?

Cut the crap. Let's go.

Suying.

Suying,

why are you doing this to yourself?

I'm fine.

Our priority right now

is to locate

the Heart Protecting Scale.

You've already exhausted

90 percent of your powers because of Lu Musheng.

Right now, your breathing is unstable.

-You have to recuperate! -It's fine.

Master, please forgive us!

The evil dragon was cunning.

We lost track of him

after the fight in Yongzhou.

I know where he is.

(Pursue)

Master, no wonder you said

he would definitely retrieve his dragon horns.

So,

you were prepared.

Luochuan Dragon Valley.

Here.

Rock, paper, scissors! Paper!

Yun.

Go and join them.

Wait here for me.

No, Your Majesty.

I want to join you.

Okay.

You're using Scissors too much.

You'll lose.

Guys, wait here for me.

I'll return in a second.

Rui,

look after them.

Okay.

Let's go.

Yun!

Evil dragon,

hand over the Heart Protecting Scale.

(Don't hurt His Majesty!)

Without the Heart Protecting Scale,

you're mere trash.

I'll wait for you in the Guanghan Sect.

You can exchange them...

(Your Majesty!)

with your Heart Protecting Scale.

(Save us!)

(Your Majesty!)

(Save us!)

(You'd better hurry.)

(I'll kill one of your clan members)

(every two hours.)

Yun!

Yun!

Yun!

Yun!

Come on!

Yun!

Suying!

Tianyao!

The Heart Protecting Scale

sent me a warning just now.

Bai Xiaosheng!

Stop!

Stop right now!

Put me down!

What's the matter?

Put me down!

What's the matter?

-What's wrong? -No.

Tianyao is in danger!

Must you stay

with that dragon all the time?

Yanhui!

What should we do?

Did we get into trouble?

Let me think about it.

Let's go after her.

After her!

Tianyao!

Tianyao, what's the matter?

Are you okay?

What happened?

Where are Peng, Rui, and Yun?

Tianyao.

I'm sorry.

Starhaven's barrier

has finally stabilized.

So, the seal on the Heart Protecting Scale has been broken?

Yanhui!
