[The Trust]

[Episode 14]

I have nothing to lose.

Now I have the chance,

I'm willing to make a wager.

Now it's your turn to decide

if you want to ante up.

OK, I am willing to do it.

Please think it over.

It is a bold move.

The morale of our army is strong.

We can take it step by step.

We don't have to take risks.

General Xu,

are you frightened by my father's ghost?

You!

General Xu,

if we can fight a quick victory this time,

winning the battle without bloodshed,

It could be a blessing for the world.

Your Majesty, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

OK. Stop talking.

About this,

it is so decided.

Hao Yunlai.

Your Majesty.

Bring me my horse.

- Roger. - You let her ride your horse?

Your Majesty, I have something to say.

Let's talk in private.

OK.

What else to order?

Your Majesty,

After all,

this Huna has a hatred for us

for killing her father.

Be sure to be careful with her.

Please don't worry.

I can tell that

Huna is an ambitious woman.

She will definitely

take her mission most seriously.

I think it's better to be careful.

Take it.

Huna, Huna.

Huna.

Gan.

Huna.

- Huna. - Gan.

Come on, let me see.

What a girl!

Where did you go?

It's not a place to have a talk.

OK, let's go inside.

Gigi turned out to be so cruel.

There are lots of heroes in Dasheng.

Among other things,

His Majesty who came out on this expedition

is very brave and open-minded.

But you have to keep in mind

they are murderers who killed your father.

He saved my life this time.

And he promised me

to help me win back the court.

I'd like to ally with him.

OK.

If I hesitate more,

I'll lose my northern male spirit.

Xinzhu, I told you to reflect on yourself.

It seems that you just can't be quiet.

Thank you for making it happen.

I've been missing you for a long time.

Today I'm here to give my regards.

I'm already overjoyed.

I've always known your filial piety.

Last time it was my fault

to spoil the mood of Queen Mother.

I lowered your position.

Sorry to let you down.

In fact, about that case,

I understand that

you can't be blamed for all that happened.

I don't feel aggrieved.

Only if I can accompany you every day,

I'd be satisfied.

It's snowing.

Let's go back.

What a sweet mouth you have.

How can you make me

become angry with you?

What happened?

You little naughty girl.

Are you spraining the ankle here

to remind me of what happened that day?

I know that

my little thoughts

would surely be recognized by you.

You're just too young and vigorous.

I don't dare

to hide anything from aunt.

It's true that I saw several times

Jinming and Her Highness entangle.

Alright.

About that,

I have my way to deal with it.

Go back.

Pardon my retreating.

Nothing can be hidden

from the eyes of Queen Mother.

Typically Lord Jinming's way of being.

Do you believe him?

He's my son.

Of course, I know him.

His Majesty is outside now for a battle.

Empress is very close with Jinming.

It's not proper.

Her Highness

doesn't shy away from a grudge.

How careless!

It's time to remind her.

Wise as Queen Mother.

Greetings to Queen Mother.

Stand up.

Thank you, Queen Mother.

Give a seat.

Queen Mother, this winter is cold.

I asked people to prepare more charcoal.

It has been brought to the courtyard today.

His Majesty doesn't like cold since childhood.

At this time,

I'm afraid he's using the stove.

Your Highness,

you know how to take care of yourself.

Both food and daily necessities

are as good as His Majesty's.

You're not staying in your own yard

reflecting on yourself,

but relaxing and running around.

It's just a stove.

You don't need to exaggerate.

The cold is far more bitter than at home.

I don't know if you

have prepared stove and charcoal

for His Majesty?

I...

I didn't think it through.

I'll arrange for someone

to send them to His Majesty right away.

Every December

I eat fast and pray for Buddha,

begging blessings for the family.

This year His Majesty went to the battlefield.

Why don't you come to Ci'an Palace

to eat fast and pray.

That would be a way to help His Majesty.

Roger, Queen Mother.

Say it again.

Who sent the letter?

It was Her Highness.

The ruler is too short

to measure lovers' minds.

Lovers' minds.

- What are you looking at? - Lovers' minds.

When I conquer

Haer Tribe for Your Majesty,

I'll prepare a cart of treasures on behalf of you

to please my little sister.

Treasures won't work.

She doesn't like them.

He wants meteorolite crystals.

[Ci'an Palace]

How is your writing so ugly?

I used my hands

to practice kung fu.

If someone else sees

as Empress, your writing is so ugly.

You'd be laughed at.

You are right, Queen Mother.

You don't like the fasting meal here?

How come?

But...

But what?

These days,

I've really realized

how you contribute to the family and Dasheng.

Since I swapped bodies with Xu Yu,

I always feel that my strength has increased.

No wonder I get hungry faster.

After getting my body,

Xu Yu must have become more clever.

How I want to know how she is.

OK.

That's all for today.

After going back,

keep practicing.

Remember that sincerity leads to spirituality.

If you're really hungry,

have some fasting meals.

Do remember

not to eat meat.

Understood.

Pardon my retreating.

It's OK.

Xu Biao.

Order all the personnel to retreat.

Your Majesty, we win the battle.

If we don't take advantage of the victory,

why should we retreat?

It's my order,

not a negotiation.

Roger.

All the personnel retreat.

The Northwestern barbarians have the intention

of allying with Dashen.

They attacked us the day before yesterday.

How could it be possible?

Dasheng's soldiers against barbarians

will retreat soon.

I'm afraid we'll be caught between two sides

They want to conspire

to destroy northern tribes.

Barbarians and Dasheng are at odds.

You overthought.

Report.

Dasheng's army against the barbarians

began to retreat.

I didn't lie to you, right?

Abhun.

Roger.

Since it happens,

go to guard the border strictly.

Don't act rashly.

Roger.

General,

secretly take 500 soldiers

to raid the barbarians.

Roger.

There're lots of changes in the north.

Make sure to be cautious.

We can't underestimate the power of barbarians.

I was wrong about you, unable man.

Yuck!

Report.

Northwestern barbarians

are fighting with a northern tribe.

What?

Are they truly fighting?

Is there a detailed report?

Gigi had transferred guards

from the royal court to support.

OK. Go on and report again.

Roger.

What's your opinion?

Your Majesty,

- In my opinion... - What's his opinion?

Isn't it obvious enough?

My plan worked.

Next,

we'll depend on General Xu.

General Xu,

the three armies will follow your orders.

Roger.

Everyone attention!

Guard His Majesty to lead the army to the west.

Observe on the cliff.

Wait until the barbarians and Gigi's forces

were both defeated.

Let's burst into reap the benefits.

General Xu Biao.

Roger.

Guard the camp.

The middle army should follow me

to hit straight to the northern royal court.

Roger.

[Sheng]

Did the barbarian retreat?

Yes, they did.

But we suffered a heavy loss.

It'd be fine once they retreat.

Report!

Another wave of attacks

is rushing over.

Didn't you just say they had retreat?

It's Sheng's troop.

What? Xu Ding?

Report!

My King,

the soldiers become afraid to fight.

It's just Xu Ding.

We fought with him before.

But the person who's coming is...

Tell me!

Tatar Huna.

Huna? How's it possible?

Yes.

She came with Abhun and Sheng's troops.

My King,

most of the royal court has been lost.

We must retreat.

Kill him.

The withdrawal can only be ordered by me.

Lady, do you think

today's meal is not delicious enough?

What about letting me

take you some pastries brought by Ms. Tao?

His Majesty is out for warfare.

I don't know how's everything going.

I'm too worried

to have any food.

It turns out that you're missing His Majesty.

You're so good to His Majesty.

Of course, I am.

By the way,

how's Xu Yu these days?

I heard from Ci'an Palace that

Her Highness has been fasting

together with Queen Mother.

She starves every day.

She got her hands swollen copying scriptures.

She's groaning these days.

Why do I become hungry immediately

after hearing that Xu Yu's hungry as well.

We're coming to visit Lady.

You're coming.

It seems that Lady's in good mood today.

Her Highness follows Queen Mother

to fast and pray.

That's somehow

a compensation for me.

What a relief!

Take a seat.

Be careful, Lady.

She's the Empress, anyway.

This time she's suffering.

Maybe someday she'll do something

for revenge.

That makes sense.

Aunt becomes more and more

fond of her.

What if...

Let's get this done.

Now that His Majesty is not here...

Could that be too much?

It depends on the measure that we take.

You can order the dining room

not to offer night snacks for Her Highness.

Her Highness practices Kung Fu.

Living in Queen Mother's place

and fasting for one month.

After this,

even if she doesn't die of hunger,

she'll lose half her life.

When His Majesty's back,

seeing her so scrawny.

How could she compete with you?

Good idea.

Pinger, bring me two sets of tableware.

Yes.

[Fengyi Palace]

Greetings to Your Highness.

Stand up.

Thanks.

Why do you come?

Hearing you've been eating poorly recently,

so I've brought some pastries

to visit you.

It's very kind of you.

I've always been grateful

as you spoke well of me to Queen Mother.

It's that I have no chance to...

Your Highness, time for the meal.

This is the Eight Treasure Spring Roll.

This is Jadeite Stir-fry.

That is the vegetarian goose.

Ms. Tao,

let's eat together.

What a shame!

Baodao,

you're so delicious!

Don't look at me like this, Ms. Tao.

I'm afraid.

I mean that

the food you cooked is so delicious.

Baodao,

Cook some more.

Be quick.

Your Highness, it's not necessary.

I'm almost full.

Right away.

OK, Your Highness.

Your Highness, I have some scriptures

copied last month by punishment.

Do you need some

to deal with Queen Mother?

Surely you're coming

to express gratitude to me?

Eat something!

Father said before he died

that the crown

would belong to me.

Today I'll get it back.

Is there any disagreement?

My Queen.

Gan.

Where's Gigi?

He has run away. I've sent men to chase him.

Traitor Abhun!

It has never happened

that Dasheng allies with barbarians.

My King, what shall we do?

When I recover,

I'll definitely win back my crown.

This time,

I'll kill them all!

[Ci'an Palace]

Your Highness's calligraphy has much progress.

The handwriting is neat. Very good.

I like it.

Thanks for your guidance.

Now that you're so talented,

study the culture well.

Spend less time

on fights and weapons.

You're right, Queen Mother.

Since that in the great court meeting

I behaved abruptly,

I've never touched the weapons again.

That's it.

This is proper behavior for Her Highness.

Greetings to Queen Mother.

Greetings to Your Majesty.

Jinming,

I've been missing you so much.

It's been a long time since you came to see me.

How are administration affairs going?

Can you deal with them?

Those papers

are as many as snowflakes.

Zhenbei Marquis and Third Uncle

are vey aggressive.

I'm so worried.

But there's nobody around to talk to

It's really hard work

for my baby Jinming.

It's your brother's fault.

He left so suddenly

without telling you everything in advance

to let you be prepared.

Queen Mother,

brother specially instructed before leaving

that Her Highness would take care of me.

Isn't it still wronged

by someone narrow-minded?

I was not thoughtful enough.

I only remember

His Majesty's instructions.

I forgot to avoid suspicion.

Since it's your brother's instruction.

Your Highness, since tomorrow

you don't have to accompany me every day.

Thanks, Queen Mother.

Xinzhu's lockdown order

is coming to an end.

Your Highness,

you and Xinzhu should make an effort together

to maintain the peace of the courtyard.

So that His Majesty in the front line

will not be distracted and worried.

Roger, Queen Mother.

I want to have a good talk with Jinming.

Go back then.

Pardon my retreating.

Jinming, look.

I've prepared your favorite.

Delicious?

Where's General Xu?

Your Majesty,

General Xu is visiting the wounded.

He'll be back soon.

Father is so thoughtful of everything.

There's nothing to worry about Dasheng then.

I've won back my crown

thanks to His Majesty of Dasheng.

Right here, right now.

A toast to Your Majesty.

Congratulations to the Queen for returning!

Congratulations to the Queen for returning!

Gigi framed me before,

selling me into slavery.

I didn't imagine that

I could be back so soon.

Now the Queen's back.

It's what everyone expects.

Your Majesty, could you please dance with me?

I don't know the dance of the north.

Don't worry, just follow me.

For the peace of the north and Dasheng.

For the peace of the north and Dasheng.

You said that it is what everyone expects.

It's too early to say so.

Look.

Some of the present northern nobles

don't recognize me yet.

Some of them

are still observing Gigi.

Whether I dance with you,

or stay here to celebrate,

I'm telling the north

that Dasheng and I will support you.

But be sure to make it

what you promised me.

All the Haer Tribe

even the ally of the north

must bow down to Dasheng.

There'll be no warfare on the border.

That's all.

OK.

If I make it.

Haer Tribe and the entire ally of the north

will bow down to Dasheng.

Of course, you have my word.

He flirts once outside the palace,

and seduces the Queen so openly.

Bastard!

Bastard!

What did you say?

Obviously, it was the Queen

who seduced our Majesty!

Yuck! It was Your Majesty

who seduced our Queen!

What are you looking at?

You!

Try it again?

I'm trying again!

There're so many people here.

Come out with me!

Go! I'm not afraid of you!

Go!

Go!

It gets dark early here.

What is His Majesty doing?

[Ci'an Palace]

It's been a hard job, Maid Hong.

Let me take care of Queen Mother.

If you're always so hard-working,

what would they do?

It seems that

I can tell them to go home.

Queen Mother, don't make fun of me.

I'm not as thoughtful as Maid Hong.

I'm just trying

to exert filial piety.

Queen Mother, I know that

you're worried about His Majesty.

For so many years,

it's the first time

that Jinyun's not here for the Spring Festival.

Queen Mother, once the war ends,

His Majesty surely will accompany you every year.

Moreover, no matter where he is,

he must be missing you.

It's so kind of you.

You know that

I've been thinking about this.

And you came specifically to comfort me.

Queen Mother is happy and I'll be at ease.

What about if I

leave the New Year's Eve banquet

to you to arrange?

OK, Queen Mother.

Duke, Duke.

What?

Dear courtiers.

Dear courtiers!

What I asked was

when would the military information arrive.

Why are you discussing family issues?

Report!

Great Victory.

His Majesty attacked the Northern Royal Court.

Great!

- Victory! - What good news!

Truly good news.

Yes, it is.

Yes.

Report!

Great Victory.

General Xu led the army to expel barbarians

across Xiangxue Mountain.

That's great!

With my brother being there, Dasheng has no fear.

Dismiss!

Dismiss!

Pardon my retreating.

Brother,

Great victory in the north. Check the report.

I've heard of it.

Alright.

Since you know everything,

you must know that Her Highness

wrote you a letter.

What letter?

Brother, what about

letting me read it for you?

I want to help the Queen

stabilize the north,

then sign the covenant.

I'll be back early next spring.

The lamb in the north is very delicious.

I'll take some back

to let you try.

I miss you too.

Servants.

Wudu.

Here.

Report to Queen Mother

the front line has won a great victory.

Due to the heavy snow,

His Majesty will be back in early spring.

OK.

To protect us from the cold,

we must prepare

more firewood and food. OK?

OK.

Lead people to East and West Mountain.

You're responsible for the two mountains.

Prepare food as well.

- Understood? - Yes.

Go.

As you requested.

Understood?

Go!

Roger.

What heavy snow!

What's your plan, Your Majesty?

Order them to prepare more firewood.

We can only stay in the camp now.

I'd like to invite you

and the soldiers

come to my place

to celebrate the new year.

In your place?

Are you afraid?

It's so generous of you.

I'm not afraid at all.

It happens that

I need to discuss with General Xu

before making such a big decision.

General Xu.

He made a great contribution to your success.

He must be there.

It depends on you

if General Xu will come or not.

Surrender night banquet.

I always remember

what I promised you.

I believe in you.

What do you think about the banquet?

I'm curious.

In the past

Queen Mother

arranged the banquet with Lady Pei.

This time will Your Highness

do it together with Lady Pei?

It's not necessary.

I'll handle it.

Mind your words.

I'm now a low-ranked concubine.

Since Your Highness doesn't need me,

I'll leave then.

Pardon me, please.

Wait a minute, concubine.

It's a big deal.

All ladies must contribute to it.

You're in charge of the decoration,

candle and costume included.

Ms. Tao is in charge of food.

Ms. Qin, arrange seats for external guests.

Everyone takes her responsibility.

If there's any mistake,

the one in charge will be strictly punished.

Your Highness,

in the past, the funds for the banquet

were allocated in advance.

Why is there no fund yet?

The Imperial Manufacture Service is on it.

If you need anything,

write it down and hand it in.

It'll be arranged.

If there's any problem,

report to me.

Roger.

Dismiss then.

Make some preparations.

Report to me tomorrow.

Yes, Your Highness.

Ms... Ms. Qin.

Are you OK?

What happened?

Your Highness, I'm fine.

It's not her fault.

Your... Your Highness.

It was my fault.

I hit Ms. Qin incautiously.

Are you OK?

It's so kind of you.

You're hurt like this,

but still speak well of others.

It was my fault.

Sorry for the disturbance.

I'm afraid that

I won't be able to help.

Take care of your health first.

Report to me when you get recovered.

Dismiss.

Your... Your Highness.

It was really you who hit her?

I don't know.

It was a vegetarian soup.

It was not hot.

It seems that she's protecting herself.

You mean...

She's afraid to

be caught in a dilemma between me and Pei.

That's how she avoided that.
