[The Trust]

[Episode 13]

By the order of Queen Mother,

Degrade Pei Xinzhu, whose behavior is contrary to morals,

to a low-ranked concubine.

Pei shall be grounded for three months.

Ms. Tao.

Lady Pei was degraded to a concubine

because of her behavior contrary to morals.

Are you sure it's Lady Pei, not the Empress?

I'm sure.

Ms. Tao.

Are you going to meet the servant Jing?

Not now.

I see.

The bitter wind comes today.

The frost congeals the orchids.

How's the front line now?

Any news from the North?

Of course yes.

You've seen the battlefield report.

I mean if there's...

Forget it.

Yu loves snow.

The Emperor arrives.

Open the door and kneel to greet at once.

Due to General Xu's order,

the door can only be opened

if we receive his order.

I regret I can't comply with your wishes.

Don't you know me?

How dare you disobey the imperial edict?

Calm down, please.

Military orders must be obeyed.

The army only obeys military orders,

not the Emperor.

Where's General Xu?

General Xu is on an inspection tour.

We don't know when will he come,

but already sent a man for him.

Your Majesty, I'm guilty.

I didn't know Your Majesty was here

and failed to get prepared.

General Xu, rise, please.

Thanks a lot.

His Majesty cared about you,

so traveled day and night

to come here in advance.

Thanks, Your Majesty.

Open the door.

In the camp, father's order seems to be

more powerful than His Majesty coming in person.

No wonder Xiao Jinyun

fears our family so much.

Sis.

You're getting slimmer.

You'd pay more attention to your body.

Eat some, okay?

Sometimes I really envy you.

Nothing is bigger than your voracious appetite.

Sister.

Don't make fun of me.

Try some Poria cakes.

When you feel bitter in heart,

you'll be better after eating this.

After all this,

I can see the end of my life now.

I have nothing to look forward to

for the rest of my life.

Sis,

why don't you write a memoir?

Don't waste your talent for writing like a scholar.

You're right.

A memoir.

Then everyone will know

how dark it is in the inner palace.

I'm only 18 or 19 now,

but have been living here for three years.

With a volume of Mistrust,

my tears run from my eyes.

Why did the Emperor suspect me?

Why did Mother suspect me?

The name of my memoir

is Mistrust.

You have brilliant literary talent.

[The Mistrust]

Look out!

Get back!

Guard the Emperor.

Go.

There's no safe place on the battlefield.

I will live and die together with you.

I didn't expect His Majesty to be a good warrior.

It's a shame that I looked down upon him.

Long Rainbow Crossing Sun.

The unique skill of the Xu family?

I'd like to propose a toast.

- Cheers. - Cheers.

Sit, please.

Today Your Majesty led all men

to fight against the enemy,

and enhanced the army's morale.

I heartily admire it.

But I'm curious about one thing

and I wonder if I could get the answer.

Please ask.

Who taught the movement of

Long Rainbow Crossing Sun to Your Majesty?

Oh, my god.

I was too excited to use

the unique skill of the Xu family.

My wife taught me.

She forced me to practice every day.

I see.

It's your sister.

Long Rainbow Crossing Sun

is a difficult movement.

To the level of His Majesty today,

there must be five years for practice.

But Yu didn't marry His Majesty five years ago.

I'd like to make a toast to Your Majesty.

You were so brave on the battlefield.

It's a blessing for our Dasheng.

Long Live Your Majesty!

Come on.

Drink it all.

Drink it all.

Another toast to Your Majesty.

Come on.

It's your turn.

Are you okay? I'll drink with you.

Sure.

Let's go.

Your Majesty, please.

Your Majesty.

You drank a lot.

I'll get someone to lead you to the room.

Father, I'm not drunk.

Are you looking down on me?

Father?

Drink it all.

Oh, my god.

I can't drink anymore.

The hangover is terrible.

Yu.

Yes.

Father.

Follow me.

Game over.

He finds out the truth?

But how?

Why?

Anyone speaking ill of you?

I'm just not reassured.

Xu Yu's on the front line.

She has to shoot arrows and kill enemies.

General Xu knows what my martial arts level is.

Brother.

The Emperor won't go to the battlefield himself.

He just sits in the tent

and makes a show.

Don't worry.

Your Highness, Duke.

A resounding victory in Yuemen Pass.

Tell me what happened.

I don't know what you are t-talking about.

Why is my daughter

now the Emperor?

Where's the real Emperor?

Father.

Have you found it out for long?

I don't want to lie to you.

I'm too tired.

All of it started from

the bracelet you gave me.

I met the Emperor that day.

We fell into a lotus pond by accident.

Just fell into it.

He started to change.

I see.

No wonder the Emperor sent a secret letter

and asked me to find meteorolite crystals.

That means

if I find the meteorolite crystal,

you can change back.

Not only the meteorolite crystal.

Also astronomical phenomena and matrices.

Diviner told me that.

You're asking for trouble.

Don't find the crystal.

If you can't change back,

I'll have another son, won't I?

Father.

Are you sure your brain

was not injured by Zamsi?

What do you mean?

We're from an official's family.

If others know what you've said,

they'll believe you want to rebel.

Just kidding.

You've been Emperor for months

and have promoted a lot.

It's a big trouble.

Now you can still joke about me?

Don't worry.

I know it.

You're my daughter.

I won't change you for an Emperor

or even the god.

But think about it.

I've been loving martial arts since young.

Now I've grown up

and I'm here in the North

leading an army.

I think it's my destiny.

Yes.

You're right.

So I know what to do.

You command the center group.

We fight the Royal Court

and find out the crystal.

Then it's time to go home.

Sure.

Father,

why did you recover so quickly?

Oh, this.

Your brother sent me

Senior Doctor Jiang's medicine.

I recovered after a few days.

Yu.

We have tough conditions here.

Tougher than Jing'an.

But if you need anything,

I'll try my best for you.

I really miss the time

when I went to the court in Jing'an.

It looks splendid in green and gold.

Here?

So shabby,

so cold.

What are you talking about?

You're with me. I won't feel cold anymore.

The Emperor went to the battlefield

and killed 19 enemies.

Duke.

Hengshan Duke and Zhenbei Marquis will come.

Jinming.

After the autumn hunting case,

I've suspended Yunyang Earl

and let Zhenbei Marquis off

at Third Uncle's call.

But it's a hasty conclusion.

Xu Yu went out to the battle for me.

You acted as a regent.

Third Uncle won't give up easily.

He may probe you

taking the opportunity of

the Emperor's absence.

Duke.

Hengshan Duke and Zhenbei Marquis

are waiting outside.

You're here, Uncle.

Jinming.

Are you so busy

that you're asleep here?

Don't lock yourself here.

Kicking the ball with me when you're free.

That's great.

I think you come now

for something more important

than kicking the ball.

Duke.

Yunyang Earl has retired from office.

The candidate for Jingji Province Governor

can't be unsettled for long.

Do you have any appropriate candidates?

Jinyue, Hengshan Duke's son,

will come back to Jing'an.

He's much better-versed

in military strategy than Yunyang.

I believe

he's the best candidate for

Jingji Province Governor.

I already have the best candidate.

Who?

It's me.

What? You?

You? You what?

I'm the regent.

I call the shots.

Third Uncle.

Xiao Jinyue has been away for three years.

Why does he come back now?

Good-bye.

Come here someday.

Mr. Han.

You didn't show up for long.

This way, please.

You two take good care of him.

Let's drink.

Where's my wine? Hurry up.

Look.

Enjoy yourself, gentlemen.

Mr. Xiao.

I didn't see you for days.

Your elegance remains as before.

Mudan misses you so much.

You bitch.

She belongs to me.

The new pipa song

recalls the past romance.

It's been three years.

Where have you been?

Travel far away,

away to wherever it is.

So why do you come back now?

For someone, of course.

Your Majesty, there's a trade caravan.

Someone's injured.

Go and check it.

Yes.

General, help.

We're robbed.

We have no food now.

You're Persian merchants?

Why are Persian merchants here?

There is something fishy.

We'd better act with prudence.

You merchants really want deadly money.

It's a war here.

Why come here?

There's a town 50 kilometers southwards.

You can go there.

Can you give us a horse?

How dare you?

They're battle steeds,

not your mule.

Master, me for the horse.

Wait.

General,

I know how to go to the North.

Help me and I'll tell you.

Who are you?

I'm a dancer bought by a Persian merchant.

They hurt you?

General,

buy me and you won't regret it.

Womanize in front of me?

You have gone too far.

Greetings to Mother.

Hail, Mother.

Rise, please.

Jinyue.

I haven't seen you in years.

I didn't expect you've grown up

and are getting more handsome.

You flattered me.

Queen Mother.

I picked up a snow lotus

in the North by accident.

It clears and activates the channels

and dispels coldness in the body.

It suits you very well.

I brought it special to you.

Good boy.

I'll accept your gift.

Your father told me

you've been traveling these years.

Your father's old now.

You have to stay with him.

I see, Mother.

Mother.

Ms. Tao and Ms. Qin are here to greet you.

Mother.

I'll go back now.

Sure.

Go back and take a rest.

Yes.

Jinyue grew up and learned

with Jinyun and Jinming.

He's the most silent and purest among them.

I like this boy.

Yu.

Jinyue.

You should call me Highness.

I'm sorry for the offense.

Please forgive me, Your Highness.

Rise, please.

I just arrived and greeted Mother.

And come to see you.

See you and His Majesty.

His Majesty's gone for the battle.

I've heard that.

His Majesty is weak and disliked martial arts.

Now His Majesty's able to fight.

I really admire it.

Xiao Jinyue.

You really treat yourself as an insider.

How dare you talk about

the weakness of His Majesty?

Forgive me, please.

I just recalled the past

and blurted it out.

I didn't mean to defame His Majesty.

I have to greet Mother.

Please help yourself.

I...

Draw all the roads you know.

Where are you going?

How dare you?

Is it your question to ask?

You're in the south of Mountain Freesia.

To the Royal Court,

go this way.

To Wuzhi Tribe,

go this way.

Back there are Sugan Tribe

and Wotai Tribe.

That's queer indeed.

Our war is a big matter.

I suspect she's a scout.

We should interrogate her first,

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty? The Emperor of Dasheng?

Your Majesty.

Why did you try to kill me?

Just kill her, Your Majesty.

Seal her mouth.

Just listen carefully,

I am Tatar Huna.

Tata...

Tatar Hu... what?

Huna.

The eldest daughter of Zamsi.

It's me.

Come here.

Don't move.

The Emperor of Dasheng

treats girls so slightingly?

I know you.

After Zamsi died,

Tatar Huna,

the princess of Haer Tribe,

disappeared uncannily.

Her younger brother Jiji became the successor.

Since young, I learned the classics

and excelled in horsemanship and archery.

I got my father's favor and was made Crown Princess.

I didn't expect him to die on the battlefield.

Tatar Jiji used knockout drops on me

and sold me to a foreign state as a servant.

He announced my missing.

I was looked down on because I'm a female.

My people even didn't look into it.

I bore responsibility

and blame only to return.

I didn't expect I meet you here,

the Emperor.

You have ferociousness in your eyes.

You definitely will kill me, right?

I promised to avenge my father's murder.

Don't move.

I can't warm a snake in my bosom.

Your Majesty, I've returned from patrol.

Nothing's wrong.

General, you can't believe it.

I picked up a queen.

You are free to kill me.

Why bind me up?

Answer me.

If you didn't meet us,

what's your plan?

I'll find a chance to kill the Persian merchant,

go to my A-gan,

and seek a chance to fight back.

Emperor of Dasheng.

Don't fake anymore.

Nothing succeeds like success. Just kill me.

I admire your character a little bit.

Listen,

if I release you to Wuzhi Tribe,

can you promise not to

rival against Dasheng?

If you release me,

I will kill you at once

for revenge.

You have to have the power to kill me.

I know Dasheng

put mental pursuits above material arts.

The Emperor is very weak.

You really know the sneak attack well.

Unite her.

She's good at martial arts. If...

I said, unite her.

Yes.

I want a contest with you.

Then you'll be utterly convinced.

Do you concede?

You just don't yield.

Haer can be killed but never be humiliated.

They looked down upon females,

especially you.

If so,

you should try your best to live.

Why are females despised?

Live and show them

they're wrong.

You just lost a game of martial arts

and wanted to die.

Are you deserve to be Zamsi's daughter?

Don't you tell me you want to fight back

to the Royal Court

and get your throne back?

Why telling me this?

Because I will help you

to get back your throne.

Why?

It's conditional help.

What condition?

All Haer Tribe and even North Union

shall bow down to Dasheng.

No war in the border area.

That's all.

Sure. If I succeed,

all Haer Tribe and even North Union

will bow down to Dasheng.

Deal.

One more condition.

You have to meet someone.

Xu Ding greets Your Majesty.

Xu Ding?

You killed my father.

Go to hell.

Huna.

Revenge can't solve it at all.

You want to kill him now.

But think of it,

how many Dasheng soldiers

were killed by your father?

Their revenge can't be vented

even everyone stabs you once.

Your task of primary priority

is to retake the Royal Court.

That's the only way to stop the war

and reduce casualties.

Huna,

your father is a respectable rival of mine.

You respect my father.

He respected you too.

Okay.

Before I retake the throne

and stop the war,

I can forget the hatred temporarily.

Don't play tricks.

My father served in the army his whole life.

He's a hero respected by our people.

He died with dignity

because the strongest rival killed him.

Xu Ding.

Even if I want to revenge,

I will use fair play.

I have a foreboding.

Brother, I count on my fingers.

She will owe a romantic debt in the North.

She's a girl.

How could it be?

A girl?

So why did you send her to a flock of men?

Are you afraid of it?

She has the body of a man. What to be afraid?

That's right.

The awe-inspiring Emperor leads the army.

If he meets a foreign girl

with twinkling eyes,

then a flock of men boo and hoot.

Counting on my fingers...

He will bring you a concubine.

Brother.

Why are you so rude to me

just like Her Highness.

Why are you counting on your fingers

and making a mystery?

Xu Youran taught me.

It's a road to Persia

usually used as a trade way.

There are very few troops.

Yes.

But if we take this path,

we just give our heartland to them.

Emperor, if you believe me,

I can negotiate with the central army of Jiji.

The leading general

is my A-gan,

Abuhun in Wuzhi Tribe.

If he knew I'm still alive,

he would listen to me.

You Majesty, don't believe her.

She knows well of our troops.

If she goes there,

she will betray us.

What is A-gan?

Foster elder brother.

You mean

you want to persuade your foster brother

to fight against Royal Court with us?

No.

I will let him pose as the western army and attempt

a surprise attack on northwestern barbarians.

The barbarians will fight against the western army.

It's the bait for Jiji's royal guard to rescue them.

My brother will give up

the defense of the central army.

You can go straight to the Royal Court.

What if I defect you

and cooperate with barbarians

to attack the central army

from both sides?

I'm afraid of that, I admit.

But everything's risky.

You also worry about the solution

if my brother surrounds you

together with Jiji, right?

I have nothing to lose.

Now I have the chance,

I'm willing to make a wager.

Now it's your turn to decide

if you want to ante up.

♫ Lend me a little bit of luck so I can meet you ♫

♫ Lend me a little tacit understanding so I can be very happy ♫
