[The Trust]

[Episode 11]

Xu Yu.

♫ My complaints ♫

♫ Please don't be bothered by them ♫

What is this?

The last time I visit my parents, General Xu...

your brother gave me this.

♫ My love ♫

♫ makes me stuck ♫

Are you trying to tell me

that I should take care of myself

as my family members serve in the army.

No, it's not.

Don't worry, Your Majesty.

My father always tells me

our family dedicates to serving our country.

However you treat our family,

we will never do harm to our country.

That's not what I mean.

I know you are angry with me since yesterday.

I want to cheer you up

with this present.

Really? He's trying to amuse me?

That's rare.

I am flattered.

Xu Yu.

Can't you feel my love

as your husband?

Your Majesty,

I dare not to conjecture your thought.

After we changed our identities,

I finally know how you feel.

Now, I can tell loyalty

from insincerity.

I'm sorry

for ignoring you.

You don't have to talk in this way.

It's cheesy and you know it.

You are my empress. I can only trust you.

Xu Yu, if I tell you

I have no idea about the fragrance incident,

will you believe me?

You used to be outspoken.

You'd argue with me if you have doubts.

But now...

Xu Yu.

I will tell you this only once.

So listen carefully.

I used to keep guard against your family.

But I never mean you harm.

I'll keep you safe from anyone,

including my mom.

I can hear you.

Why is your hand on my breast?

Your Majesty...

What are you doing here?

It's...

Queen Mother asks for Her Highness.

I didn't see anything.

I'm leaving first.

How are you doing, Yu?

Mother,

I'm taking Senior Doctor Jiang's prescription.

I feel much better now.

That's good.

What do you think of this silk?

The craftsmanship is delicate.

The colors are in harmony.

It must be one of a kind.

I got this fabric when I was Empress.

The late emperor had the imperial wardrobe service

made this for me.

I'm granting it to you.

Mother, I didn't expect that!

I'm flattered.

Do you recognize the pattern?

I can see the flowers.

But I'm not familiar with plants.

This is the daylily.

Daylily, a symbol of elegance and constancy.

It's a benediction for the patter of tiny feet.

Mother is implying Xu Yu

bear a child for me.

Right after you came over,

you made mistakes repeatedly.

I didn't appreciate that.

But I always bear in mind

that you're the Empress,

my daughter-in-law.

Only with offspring and a harmonious harem,

will the Emperor devote his mind to the country.

Do you understand?

Yes, Mother.

I know you suspect me

of changing the recipe of your fragrance.

You could have talked to me.

You don't have to provoke His Majesty

to go against me.

Mother.

I didn't mean it.

There must be a misunderstanding.

So I implored His Majesty to look into it.

I didn't know it would bother you.

I've investigated it.

The servants made a mistake

when preparing the fragrance.

I've punished them.

I don't want His Majesty

to be bothered by this trifle.

It would be distracting.

Do you understand?

Yes, Mother.

Servants.

These are well-made supplements.

Take them with you

and nurse your health.

Thanks, Mother.

Alright, so much for today.

I'm tired.

You may retreat.

I still need to work harder

to improve their relationship.

[Fengyi Palace]

Are these from Mother?

Yes.

Mother looked into the fragrance incident.

It's a mistake.

Mother granted that nourishment

for you to nurse your health.

As for this fabric,

late Emperor had wardrobe service made it

for Mother.

Now she granted it to you.

The patterns look so alive!

I love it!

Your Majesty.

Thank you.

Mother also said

in her mind,

you're always the Empress,

her daughter-in-law.

For real?

Your Majesty.

Thank you.

Thank me?

Mother has never treated me properly

since I get married.

This time,

mother grants me many gifts.

I owe them to you.

I remember this pattern.

Lady Pei has a similar fabric.

It must be from Mother, too.

I'll extend my regards

to the soldiers.

I could transfer your letter

to your family.

For real?

If there's anything you want to deliver to them,

I can transfer them for you.

Thank you! Let me fetch them.

Childish as usual.

Hya!

Xu Ding, it's suddenly cold.

The northern area is blessed!

Our tribes are all winter specialists.

You can't stop us this time.

Surrender now.

I promise I'll treat you

with meat, wine, and leather jackets.

Give in,

or our troops will wipe you out!

Absurd!

We are undefeated.

We've been holding you back

for two decades.

Now you ask for it,

I'll end this war once and for all.

Your Majesty,

urgent report from the northern area.

General Xu slayed Zamusi.

That's my...

That's my warrior of Dasheng.

General Xu is wounded?

Your Majesty,

the son of Zamusi,

Tatar Gigi has acceded.

Now all tribes in the northern area

lunch a counteroffensive

in revenge for Zamusi's death.

We've lost three battles in a row.

What is the casualty of our troops?

Heavy.

We've retreated to Yuemen Pass.

Tatar keeps challenging us at the pass gate.

Right now,

General Xu Jun is recuperating at home.

General Xu Ding is wounded.

He's on his own now. I'm afraid...

General Xu is long in the tooth.

He's not qualified for the task.

You can't win the all.

We are all serving this country.

Marquis,

why do you defame General Xu?

Your Majesty, I have a proposal.

I implore that

we should swap the commander now

to boost morale.

Nonsense!

It's a grave military mistake

to replace the general before the battle.

That's easy for you to say!

What's it called?

You're all talk and no action.

Stop talking gibberish.

We must not change the general.

That is a wise decision!

That is a wise decision!

Now there is an emergency.

What are your suggestions?

Please bring them up.

Please send in reinforcements and rations

to strengthen the defense.

Thankfully.

My father has support in the court.

No wonder Xiao Jinyun guards against us.

Your Majesty.

I used to serve in the army

and fight alongside the late Emperor

for more than 20 years.

Now General Xu is badly wounded.

There is no other capable general.

I volunteer to join the front line

and help out.

Uncle, you are invaluable to us.

The business here requires you.

I still need you here.

Your Majesty.

This is an emergency.

Please entrust me with Tiger Talisman.

I will set off with the troops

and help General Xu.

I will decide on a proper military official

to lead the troops.

Your Majesty.

This cannot be delayed.

Once our enemy breach Yuemen Pass,

Dasheng will be in danger.

Is there anyone

more qualified than me

to lead the troops?

You!

Calm down, Your Majesty and Duke.

We should avoid a rash decision.

I will have the Military Department

and the Revenue Department

come up with a reinforcement plan.

Then we shall discuss the candidate.

Lady Pei's father is trustworthy!

Prime Doctor is right.

I appreciate that.

Come up with a plan first.

Yes, Your Majesty.

That's a wise choice!

We'll talk about the candidate later.

Dismiss.

Your Majesty.

Long Live Your Majesty.

We stress civil matters over military since accession.

There aren't enough young military officers.

What to do now?

Your Majesty.

Xu Jun and Xu Biao are outside.

Bring them in!

I apply to join the front line.

Jun...

General, you need rest!

Have you recovered?

That's right.

Let me do it.

Your Majesty.

My younger brother is brave.

But he's not good at commanding.

Now our morale is low.

We must...

Jun. Jun.

Your Majesty?

I am aware of it.

He is only a great pioneer.

Now the enemy approaches.

You insist on going to the front

in poor condition.

What if something goes wrong?

It would embolden the enemy.

Please go home.

Let me think about it.

We're leaving.

Steady.

If only Yu is a man,

she's more talented than I am.

Mind your tongue.

That's right! I'm a man now!

Wudu.

Your Majesty.

Where is the Empress?

She's discussing with Jinming

about his marriage.

Hurry up. Bring her here.

Yes, Your Majesty.

[Please find the magic stone in the northern area. Keep it secret. Take care.]

The magic stone?

I made Yu's bracelet of that stone.

Why would His Majesty need it?

Father.

I got this protective talisman

for you and my brother last Lantern Festival.

The northern area is freezing cold.

Our troops are not used to the weather.

General Xu was right.

Do you have a plan?

I will have the Military Department

and the Revenue Department send in reinforcement.

It's not about rations or reinforcement.

We need a commander for the troop.

It won't help

by sending troops there.

I'm thinking about

leading the army myself.

No.

Your Majesty.

I've been thinking about it.

Jun is badly ill.

Biao is foolhardy.

Now our morale is low.

Having me lead the army,

that's the only way to boost the morale

and fight back.

Isn't there anyone else?

Is everything about your family?

Why didn't your father

cultivate other generals?

There is none left!

Three years ago,

the Gallant General died in battle.

His six-year-old son succeeded.

Two years ago,

General Zhao was summoned back to the court

and put into prison.

Now, General Zhao is lame.

Last year,

General Wang marched to the northern area.

He ran out of rations

and died in Mountain Teng.

After the late Emperor passed away,

we've been suppressing the military officers.

It's my mistake.

Civil officials are eloquent and form together.

The martial generals couldn't match their power.

As a result,

leading the army myself

is our only option.

This is a big deal.

Let me think about it.

This is an emergency.

We must hurry.

The battlefield is unpredictable.

It could go wrong.

Hengshan Duke is lurking in the dark.

You wouldn't believe

what he said in court.

He said he was the most qualified official

to lead the troops to the northern area.

Your Majesty,

what else could we do

to stop him from seizing control?

Diviner is making progress.

We can swap our bodies back

once we find the stone.

This is a critical time.

Yet you only care about this body.

General, how is your wound?

It should be fine.

This is Flower Pill.

Please take it.

I heard that your father

was wounded by Zamusi.

I made this medicine for incised wounds.

Thank you, Senior Doctor.

Follow my prescription,

and you'll recover in three months.

You should stay indoors and rest

before you're fully recovered.

Stop wandering around.

But the war is heating up.

My father is wounded. The army needs us.

I...

That's for His Majesty to decide.

Your father will live through it.

Just rest assured. Don't get him worried...

That's right.

You should rest.

Now Yu is pregnant.

I'm sure His Majesty will come up with a plan.

Senior Doctor.

Well.

The Empress is not pregnant.

I'm afraid General Xu Biao

nearly hurt her the last time.

So she made it up.

She lied to me?

Biao.

I've told you many times.

The Empress is delicate.

She's no longer used to the games we played.

How could you do that?

Sorry about that.

Thank you so much.

I must go now.

Captain Xu,

take good care of him.

You have my word.

Jun.

Why would Yu lie to us?

Make it stop!

We lack military generals.

It's been going on for years.

It's not your own fault.

Don't blame yourself.

I am the Emperor.

I should advance with my troops.

If it wasn't for the incident,

I would march to the front line

without any hesitation.

But now...

But now you and the Empress

have swapped bodies.

Are you worried about her safety?

I understand she was born into a military family.

She has more experience than I do.

But I couldn't make up my mind

to send her in.

Although she's from a military family,

she's not used to military life.

I'm afraid she couldn't adapt to life

in the northern area.

Just let me go.

When did you get here?

I'm your wife.

Naturally,

I would like to stay by your side.

But now,

my family and my country are at stake.

I should take my position

and contribute to Dasheng.

As the saying goes,

A gifted general is much rarer than a troop.

Now we've swapped.

I've been learning martial arts.

Don't you think this is providence?

Right, Diviner?

Your Majesty, this is providence.

I deduce the other stone is in the northern area.

Now it's getting tense in the war.

This march to the northern area

is her fate.

Exactly.

That's to say,

let's just decide

who will be my regent.

In this case,

it's more than a banquet.

You still have to date

the daughter of the Minister of Rites.

That's right.

Please, help your adorable brother out.

Jinming.

Your sister-in-law will lead the army.

I want you to be my regent.

Sorry for disturbing you.

Stop.

Please. I can't do that.

I am deeply troubled

just by thinking of the endless speeches

in the court.

You've got Uncle and Prime Doctor.

That's exactly why

I need someone else to balance them.

If you agree,

I will talk to mother

and cancel your date

with the minister's daughter.

Steward Wudu.

Lady Pei asked me

to deliver this ginseng soup.

Ping.

His Majesty wants no guest today.

Please go back.

Lady.

His Majesty receives no guests today.

Are you sure about going?

You don't get it.

Now that he receives no guests,

Xu Yu must not be there.

I heard that Xu Ding

is badly wounded and lost many battles.

I'm sure the Empress will suffer from it, too.

You look stunning.

His Majesty will grant his affection to you tonight.

Affection?

You sound more excited than I am.

I am happy for you.

Since you entered the harem,

Queen Mother has been fond of you.

But His Majesty doesn't really...

Shut up!

That's not your place to comment.

Please forgive me.

I misspeak.

If Xu's family is defeated,

His Majesty can only rely

on Prime Doctor.

We will witness our prosperity soon.

Stop shaking!

How could you fight like this?

Lady Pei.

Please spare me.

His Majesty is handling the state affairs.

It's inappropriate.

Your Majesty.

Lady Pei is here for you.

Come in.

Lady.

Wudu.

I told you

I receive no guests now.

I...

I'm here to check on you.

You've worked hard.

There are lots of documents!

I'll give you a massage.

Xinzhu.

Listen to me.

Xinzhu, I...

Don't bother.

Your Majesty, what about your leg?

I'm fine.

I'll massage your legs.

It's not like that.

We can do that in the living room.

Your Majesty, you've worked so hard.

I specifically learned some techniques.

Xinzhu, listen to me.

Stay still.

I'm a slow starter.

Shall we warm up first?

Okay.

I heard that

the horse stance invigorates blood circulation.

What's more,

it relieves fatigue.

How about...

practicing horse stance with me?

But I...

Did you just refuse me?

I dare not.

I'm not used to this.

Please don't mock me.

I won't. Follow my example.

Squat.

Right.

Lift your arms.

Get down.

Keep your back straight.

Squat down.

Your Majesty!

My sister-in-law will lead the army.

They appointed me as regent.

And my brother approved it!

They must be crazy.

Maybe, I don't know.

Swapping bodies

is abnormal already.

Aren't they afraid I'll revolt?

Revolt?

You?

You'd better think of ways

to stop those

who seek to cause trouble.

I can't think of anything.

This Jingni Sword you sent to me

I can't believe I'm asking my wife

to go to war in my place.

I would get teased if this is recorded.

No one will find out if we keep it secret.

Besides, I think this is a providence.

I'm worried about you.

I've got soldiers to protect me.

Don't worry about it.

By leading the army,

I will boost our morale.

I want our people to witness

our resolution to win this war.

Before you leave,

there's one more person to persuade.

What did you say?

Leading the army?

You're not good at martial arts.

Mother.

My skills have improved.

As you saw,

I shot the horse with arrows

at the autumn hunting ceremony.

Shoot the horse?

Riding a horse, shooting deer.

But you are a noble Emperor.

Marching to the field

is highly dangerous.

How can hunting be compared

to the battlefield?

I am aware of the danger.

It's just...

Well.

I can protect myself.

Besides, General Xu will protect me.

Don't worry about my safety.

Your Majesty.

You are the Emperor of Dasheng.

You're like a divine weapon.

You should rest here.

Don't show your sharpness easily.

Your Majesty.

Send in a general on your behalf.

As a young prince who ascended the throne,

even though I'm the eldest son,

I hadn't achieved any merit.

I need merits to gain support

and sustain my reign.

Now, there are crises in the court,

which often troubles you, Mother.

Indeed, what you said

does make some sense.

Have you thought about this?

Who will handle the state affairs

while you are away?

The state affairs...

I will appoint Jinming...

Jinming as regent.

I'm sure

You must be aware of his capability.

Jinming?

Is he serious?

There must be a misunderstanding.

Your Majesty.

Whatever you say,

I will not agree to it.

Mother.

The late Emperor

waged war for 20 years on horseback

in this small territory,

conquered land for us

and became ruler of this country.

Every time I think of it,

it brings tears to my eyes.

Now the situation is getting critical.

We are shorthanded with insufficient food.

The morale is low.

In this situation,

only if I lead the army

and work together with General Xu,

can we overcome this difficulty.

Mother, I assure you.

Once we win this war,

we can at least ensure ten years of peace

for our country.

♫ Lend me a little bit of luck so I can meet you ♫
