[EPISODE 24]

You are punctual.

Since you found out her identity,

of course you knew I would come.

The daughter of a craftsman,

this is really demeaning!

Is she that attractive?

Demeaning or not, it's not up to you to decide.

Father loves you so much now.

If I tell him who she is,

tell me,

how will Father treat you?

After sheltering a criminal,

what will be your next crime?

Even if Father doesn't punish her,

this sinner is listed as a prostitute,

she should go back to where she belongs.

Exposing her identity

won't be good for you either.

I dared to come,

but of course I came prepared.

At the time when the imperial bridge collapsed,

it was you who took the wood away from the pillars

to replace it with wood of lesser quality.

You were afraid that someone would find out,

so you made sure that the empress had all the craftsmen beheaded.

Tell me,

if Father knows that someone came to the palace to express her grievances,

will he be suspicious?

These is just your guess.

You have no proof.

This maid is a registered prostitute.

You may be very smart,

you won't always be able to hide her.

I have no proof.

Since we can't help each other,

why don't I make a deal with you?

What deal?

I don't discuss court matters with you,

nor do I interfere with your marriage to the daughter of the prime minister.

but you don't touch her.

Chu Ningyuan, Chu Ningyuan...

All right!

But you'll have to show me your sincerity,

otherwise how can I trust you?

I'm back.

Did you go to see Miss Shangguan?

How is she doing?

It's getting late.

Let's talk about the others tomorrow.

We should go to bed.

You've been taking care of official business all day.

Aren't you tired?

So be nice to me...

Aunt Shen!

Aunt Shen, bad news!

Because his highness broke into the Eastern Palace last time,

and killed inside the palace,

he will be punished by his Majesty!

What?

Decree of his Majesty the Emperor!

The seventh prince broke into the Eastern Palace at night

in defiance of the etiquette.

He showed a blatant lack of respect.

For that first offense,

he will receive one hundred lashes.

He will be confined to the inner courtyard for 20 days to reflect on his actions

and to serve as an example. This is my decision.

I accept the decree.

Seventh Prince,

excuse me.

Chu Ningyuan,

you finally make me feel like a child again.

Proceed!

Your Highness!
