(Back From The Brink)

(Episode 9)

She wishes to seal off Yongzhou City.

We mustn't stay here any longer.

You will be implicated.

I'm not afraid. So what are you afraid of?

Don't worry.

The area above ground is no longer safe.

Let's head underground.

Be careful.

(Yongzhou Underground City) Xiange,

what place is this?

Yongzhou City is quite far away

from Qingqiu.

As the relationship

between the Taoists and the spirits

grows tenser,

to help monsters

that had lost their home

to avoid the Taoists,

I started to build

this underground city in secret

a few years ago.

Although it doesn't look the best,

it's the best I could do.

Be careful.

Is it easier for you if you hold this?

It's much better.

Go there and bring them here.

Be careful.

Fifth.

Bring him to his resting spot.

Yes, miss.

Let's go.

I'll check that place out.

Be careful.

Be careful.

Hang in there.

Be careful.

Is he okay?

He'll be fine after taking the medicine.

Take the medicine first.

Don't worry.

Miss.

We're still sending the monsters

we saved to this place.

However,

the number of disciples of the Guanghan Sect on the streets is increasing.

If we keep this up,

I'm afraid

this place will get found out.

Be more careful.

Try to save as many as you can.

Yes.

So, all these years,

you spent all of Wangyu Tower's profit

on this underground city.

This place is huge.

How many monsters have you saved?

I didn't save that many of them before today.

However, the Arena was destroyed.

All of the monsters had escaped.

So,

you guys blew up the Arena, right?

We didn't expect it

to be such a huge deal.

You're a human.

Why are you trying so hard to save the monsters?

I was raised by a spirit.

I'm just trying

to return the favor here.

It's a shame that taking them in

is the best I could do.

Lend me a hand.

With the flow of Zi and Wu,

all is one.

Listen to my call, dragon scale.

And purge all sickness.

(Tianyao has been cultivating his spiritual power)

(after retrieving his dragon bone.)

(I never expected him)

(to be this powerful already.)

Are you okay?

I'm fine.

Stop acting tough.

I'm healed.

I'm healed too.

I'm healed!

-Me, too. -We're all fine now.

Sir, were you casting

a Spirit Dragon Spell just now?

You...

Are you the Spirit Dragon, Tianyao?

You know my name?

It is you!

All hail the Dragon King!

All hail the Dragon King!

All hail the Dragon King!

He's the Spirit Dragon that vanished.

The Dragon King has returned!

There's hope for the Spirit Clan now!

All hail the Dragon King!

All hail the Dragon King!

You guys are injured.

Spare the formalities.

Get up.

Thank you, Your Majesty!

The Spirit Dragon has returned.

Everyone, do not give up on hope.

I've already ordered my men

to dig a corridor.

It'll be completed within three days.

By then,

you guys will regain freedom again.

This is great!

We're free!

We're free!

We're free!

We're free!

We're free!

This is great!

We're free!

Thank you.

Although you're powerful,

you shouldn't act tough.

I've saved you

many times.

Your life is considered precious.

I'm still waiting for you

to retrieve the rest of your body

and become the Spirit Dragon that can travel anywhere

so that you can repay me

and help me make a fortune.

Now that the Arena is blown to bits,

there's no need for you

to hide your identity any longer.

As for the pact of servitude,

I'll terminate it.

In the future,

you can meet her

as the Spirit Dragon.

Terminate.

I will definitely

repay your kindness in the future.

In the future?

What about today?

I've unlocked my mind's eye.

I wish to check it out.

Can you teach me

how to enter my mind's eye?

It's your first time, right?

I'll bring you in.

(He's so near!)

(Why does my heart still beat so fast)

(even though the Fox Incense has worn off?)

Must we

do it like this?

Yeah.

(Yanhui's Mind's Eye)

All these black rocks,

what are they?

They should be the seal in your body.

Seal?

Why is there a seal in my body?

Who placed it here?

Is it because

I possess the Heart Protecting Scale?

Seals of such levels

can only be placed by grandmasters.

(Don't tell me it was Lingxiao?)

(If so, why did he...)

Did it remind you of someone?

No.

I was wondering

how to break the seal.

As long as your power

exceeds the power of the seal owner,

the seal will be dispelled.

So, how long do you think I need to train

with my aptitude?

If you do train hard enough,

the seal may be dispelled

one day.

Since this seal is that powerful,

I think even Suying

cannot dispel it.

Not really.

Suying already obtained the power of a master

Do you wish to bet on that possibility?

If so, I think I'll train hard

and strive to return this stupid thing to you.

After this,

if you wish to enter your mind's eye again,

you must calm your heart, focus your mind,

and focus your consciousness on your dantian.

There goes your dinner.

Look at what you've done.

Since you're awake,

you should get dinner yourself next time.

Where am I?

This is the underground city.

It's a shelter for monsters like you all.

The underground again?

Is your boss a groundhog?

She loves digging holes, huh?

Hey, you.

Wait.

Where's the couple?

What couple?

That couple.

Who?

Dragon.

Dragon who?

Yanhui!

You mean Yanhui and Tianyao?

They're discussing important matters inside the room.

Important matters?

What important matters

do they have to discuss?

Are they getting married?

Are they going to consummate?

Are they going to have a child?

How should I know?

What else is more important

than

their date?

When I saw Suying,

she didn't even use her true effigy.

She suppressed us

with her primordial spirit alone.

Seems like it'll be difficult for us

to retrieve the dragon horns.

However,

why didn't she use her true effigy today?

Could it be

that there's something

more important than acquiring the dragon scale?

She might be cultivating elixirs with the Nine-Tailed Fox

using the dragon horns.

Nine-Tailed Fox? Elixirs?

(So, )

(the girl who was floating in mid-air, )

was she the Nine-Tailed Fox?

Isn't Suying afraid

that she might cause a conflict between Taoists and spirits?

The Fox Incense you were struck with

might be related to this.

The Fox Clan of Qingqiu

excels at charming spells.

Such incense

can only be produced using their essence.

The Nine-Tailed Fox of Qingqiu,

where exactly is she hiding

in my territory?

The Nine-Tailed Fox belongs to the nobles of Qingqiu.

You won't

find her whereabouts

even if you kill us right now.

So, Lingfei

was capturing fox spirits on Chenxing Mountain

to help Suying

locate the Nine-Tailed Fox.

Lingfei captured fox spirits on Chenxing Mountain.

After that, Suying

cultivated elixirs

with the Nine-Tailed Fox essence in Tianxiang Workshop.

If that's the case,

it seems like Chenxing Mountain and Guanghan Sect

were in cahoots all along.

That's impossible.

My master, he...

Lingxiao will never

let that happen.

As the acting sect leader

of Chenxing Mountain,

how could he have no idea

about what Lingfei had done?

I'm sure he had no idea.

Although he doesn't

see spirits as equal,

he will never

harm them

for his selfish desires.

Do you trust him that much?

You're not willing to burst your bubble.

However, the truth

is always the fact

you cannot accept the most.

You don't know him!

You don't know human nature!

Enough! Stop it!

What's with the commotion?

Where did you come from?

You scared me.

I could say the same for you.

I didn't risk my life to save you guys

so that you could argue with each other.

What do you want then?

What do I want?

Of course I want you two

to stay sweet

all the time.

Rest well.

I'll make a move first.

Who said you could leave?

Sit down!

If you dare step out

of this room,

I'll lure Suying

to the underground city tomorrow.

You must be out of your mind!

What's in it for you

if you reveal our whereabouts to her?

Do you think I'm a charity worker?

Of course there's a catch

to the favor I did for you two,

right?

If you two don't fulfill

my request,

I won't make things easy

for you two.

Come on then.

Give it a try.

I'm already tired enough.

I don't wish to argue with him.

Who said we were arguing?

We were doing fine.

It's just

that we raised our volume because we were too excited.

Am I right, Yao?

That's more like it.

Listen.

It's common for couples

to argue.

That means

you two are baring your hearts to each other.

But what's the most important thing?

It's that you two must clear up the misunderstanding

after the argument.

Do not avoid any confrontations

or give each other the cold shoulder.

You two mustn't blame each other for it.

You two must talk

and communicate with each other.

Communicate, okay?

Yes, you're right.

All right then.

You two can spend

the night together.

What's the matter?

You guys wish to stay in separate rooms?

I don't want to

see that.

I want you two

to stay in the same room.

It's not like we never stayed in the same room before.

It's not a huge deal.

Sure.

We'll stay together.

Dragon, what's the matter?

Are you unhappy with it?

This isn't a negotiation anyway.

Although I'm injured,

I can spread your secrets

to the entire.

Yongzhou City.

Don't do that.

We'll follow your will.

Sleep in the same bed.

Sure, we'll sleep in the same bed.

Use the same blanket.

We'll use the same blanket.

Sleep on the same pillow too.

Perfect.

I will keep an eye on you two.

A great man knows when to yield and when not to.

We cannot afford

to make new foes again.

(Wangshu Manor)

You're very weak right now.

You must rest and recuperate.

This is the elixir I made for you.

Take it,

and you'll regain your memories.

You won't be bewitched by that fox spirit anymore.

She's not a spirit.

She's a human.

How could she help me

create this pill if she wasn't a fox spirit?

Help you create this pill?

That's right.

I created this pill using her essence.

You actually used Yunxi as a component for your elixir?

It's because she's a spirit!

Take it.

Musheng,

take it.

You'll remember everything, and everything will be fine

once you take it.

Take it.

No!

You actually sacrificed a live human for your elixir.

You've lost your mind!

Even if I do remember the past,

I will never love

an inhumane freak like you!

You're the monster here.

You're the devil!

Fine.

I'll show you

a true monster today!

This is your so-called wife.

Did you see that?

She's a spirit.

She's the source of evil

that we swore upon our lives to get rid of!

Yunxi!

Yunxi!

Musheng?

Yunxi, it's me!

Yunxi!

Yunxi, it's me!

I'm going to bring you home.

The pear blossom in our courtyard

has started to bloom.

When the wind blows,

it's as if there's snow in our courtyard.

I'm sure you'll like it.

Musheng?

Don't look at me!

I'm a spirit!

You saved me!

Don't look at me!

We went through thick and thin together for 20 years.

How could I detest you

because of your looks?

You're my wife.

It doesn't matter if you're a spirit or a human.

Musheng,

I want to go home.

(It's all because of that fox spirit.)

She's a spirit!

(She was trying to seek revenge!)

I created this pill with her essence.

(She's a spirit!)

(She's a spirit!)

You've been completely bewitched

by this fox spirit.

That's why you cannot differentiate

between good and evil.

You will pay for it.

I will kill you!

I will make you remember everything.

I will help you

return to your original self.

The Nine-Tailed Fox?

Suying actually captured Princess Yunxi?

The clans of Qingqiu value their bloodline.

If they hear about this...

Try to bring this news

out of Yongzhou.

If Qingqiu hears about this,

they'll definitely send someone

to rescue Princess Yunxi.

That's a good thing for us too.

Yongzhou City has been sealed off.

The channels we used to convey news and information

are no longer available.

The underground corridor isn't completed yet too.

Go to Feng Qianshuo.

He'll surely come up with an idea.

Qijue Agency?

However, disciples of the Guanghan Sect

are crawling on the surface now.

It would be extremely difficult

to get in contact with Mr. Feng.

I'm indebted to Qingqiu.

Now that Princess Yunxi is in trouble,

I can't just stand idly by.

Prepare yourself.

Tonight, we shall make a secret trip to Qijue Agency.

Yes.

(The evil dragon has brought harm to Yongzhou City.)

(As per the order)

(of Master Suying of the Guanghan Sect, )

(from today onward, Yongzhou City will be sealed off.)

(Apprehend the evil dragon)

(and the escaping monsters.)

(Take them down on the spot if you discover any of them.)

Qianshuo, you were hard to find.

(Yongzhou's Qijue Agency) You actually

got yourself a decent place.

That's fine.

In the end,

Qijue Agency

still became mine.

Since when did you

start to suspect me?

To steal the Feng family's business,

you ordered your familiar to kill my parents.

How long did you think

you could hide that greedy intention of yours?

It's a shame

that you were under the protection of the Guanghan Sect for many years.

That's why I couldn't avenge my parents.

Back then,

your father died

because he was too kind

to those monsters.

I never expected you to follow in his footsteps

and collude with monsters.

Be honest with me

and tell me where the evil dragon is.

On account of our ties as uncle and nephew,

I might spare you.

Evil dragon?

Stop pretending!

You asked me

for the pair of master and familiar many times!

Wasn't her familiar the evil dragon?

Do you truly think

you can protect them?

So, you don't wish to speak?

My dear nephew.

Seems like

we need to add a new memorial tablet

to the Feng family's ancestral hall.

[Closed]

(Qijue Agency)

Come here!

Come here!

Come here!

Miss Xiange.

Did you come here

because you knew

what Young Master Feng was thinking?

Where's your young master?

My Young Master...

He was captured.

Now, I'm afraid he...

What?

Miss, calm down.

Judging from Mr. Feng's ability,

I'm sure he's still safe now.

You're right.

But why was he captured

so easily?

He... I...

Don't panic.

Take your time.

By the way,

this is the last item Young Master had left behind.

He told me

to pass it to you

if he dies.

It's impossible

for him to die this easily.

When was the last time

you saw him?

Feng Ming took him away

and said he would add a new memorial tablet

to the Feng family's ancestral hall.

That's enough.

Forget it. Let's call it a day now.

It'll be troublesome for us

if he dies right now.

Let's go.

The third brick.

Father once told me

that I could only use this

if my life was in danger.

I've finally found it

after so long.

I can finally

avenge my parents now.

My biggest regret

is that I couldn't marry Xiange

in the end.

Mr. Feng,

we meet again.

Listen.

This is a matter of expedience.

We'll sleep in different beds

once he finishes his inspection.

You're unhappy?

I'm unhappy too.

Once everyone manages to leave Yongzhou safely,

I'll go to the surface and lure Suying away.

By then,

you can break the seal on the dragon horns.

Me?

Before this, some holes were drilled into the black rocks

when I entered your mind's eye.

You can try

to smash those rocks in the next few days.

It'll help you

increase your spiritual power.

I'll give it a try.

(Calm my heart, focus my mind, )

(and focus my consciousness on my dantian.)

(Yanhui's Mind's Eye)

How did it go?

How long did the foolish old man take

to move the mountains?

Over 60 years.

Did he succeed then?

He succeeded in moving Heaven.

And Heaven sent some deities to move the mountains away.

I guess you're the only person.

I can move here.

Can you help me to move the black rocks away then?

I could if it was in the past.

Then, how long did Jingwei, the mystical bird, take to fill up the sea?

I think

it's still doing it.

I can't survive that long.

All is not over yet.

Do not give up.

Do you have a way then?

What are you guys chatting about?

Time for an inspection!

You two are discussing your careers

instead of your relationship

in the middle of the night.

You told me that you were going to sleep soon.

If so, why didn't you remove your earrings?

I will.

I will.

I removed them.

I removed them.

I removed them.

What exactly

do you want?

I want you guys to do something sensual!

Didn't we follow

your instructions already?

We're sleeping in the same room, in the same bed,

and using the same blanket.

How dare you raise your volume?

Are you getting impatient?

I'm going to cause a ruckus.

Wait!

What other requests do you have?

Actually,

I'm trying to repair your relationship here.

I hope you two can resolve

the misunderstandings between you two,

bare your hearts to each other,

and

sleep under each other's warm embrace.

All right.

We'll do everything you say.

But you see, don't you think

it's inappropriate for the third wheel

to be here?

You have a point.

I'll give you guys some privacy.

I'll make a move then.

You can sleep now.

Be careful.

Be careful.

Miss.

Miss, he's from the Feng family!

I know that.

It'll be fine. Don't worry.

Tend to his wounds.

Take your time.

Let's go.

Here, eat up.

You actually saved this many spirits?

You should say

that the Arena had kept

this many of them locked away.

Why are you helping the monsters?

Although I'm a human,

I was abandoned by my parents.

A spirit rescued me

and raised me.

I'm just trying

to repay the favor here.

Even so,

you shouldn't trust monsters easily.

My parents were always kind

to their familiars.

However, they were bribed by Feng Ming.

It only took him 100 gold taels to bribe them.

And all the familiars betrayed their masters!

What did you say?

What's wrong with being a spirit?

Don't be scared.

Monsters will be monsters.

Humans will be humans too.

Prejudice, stubbornness, hatred.

Mr. Feng, what's the difference between the emotions you feel

and the emotions they feel?

What gives you the right

to think that humans experience a noble level of emotions

and your hatred

is justice?

You should stay and recuperate first.

He was too much.

Who does he think he is?

Yanhui.

Yanhui?

So, how long do you think I need to train

with my aptitude?

I guess you're the only person

I can move here.

Can you help me to move the black rocks away then?

(If so, I think I'll train hard)

(and strive to return this stupid thing to you.)

Baozi.

Such huge baozi.

They're delicious.

Tianyao.

The underground city

is stuffy and humid.

And we cannot see the sun here.

We don't even know

when to sleep or wake up.

I did manage to crush the black rocks yesterday!

Seems like

the seal might indeed be dispelled one day.

Tianyao, you were right.

We mustn't give up so easily.

It's good that you have confidence.

Time for an inspection!

Yao,

you look much suaver

than yesterday.

That's more like it.

Have you guys

resolved the misunderstandings

between you two last night?

We have.

Everything is as clear as day now.

Am I right, Yao?

Great.

That's great.

What's the matter?

Why are you staring at me?

Am I interrupting something?

Wait, am I interrupting you two from doing something here?

I'll make a move then.

Very good. Keep this up.

How long

do we have to keep this up?

We don't know his identity.

Do not get too close to him.

However,

he did save us

from Suying.

I'm sure he has a hidden agenda for making that risky move.

It's just that we don't know

what he's after yet.

My leg is getting numb.

Wait. Does the leg of a dragon get numb too?

Sometimes.
