hi my name is lisa leonard dalton the

sloopy girl

today is my second zoom interview with

steven smith

and today is july 25th of 2022

hi lisa good to see you again we have a

busy day today first we'll entertain

questions that came into your sloopy

girl youtube channel the first of those

being did you meet rick derringer

yes i did meet rick the day of the

filming of the hang on sloopy video

we very casually briefly spoke during

one of the uh breaks

mostly he was working with his band

setting up and getting everything just

right

uh but i never did uh see or hear from

him

after that date

uh

would be nice to say hi to him again

someday

lisa the sloopy film shoot do you

remember how many takes the director

asked for before calling it just right

or was it a single take and they called

it a wrap oh no there were several takes

uh they did do several of me just

walking the very beginning of the video

where i'm walking down the street to get

the timing right so that i would be in

front of the stage

at the right time of the song

the dancing in front of the stage was

done several times as well

they had cameras up high and moving all

around to get

a lot of different angles

i don't know i think it all came out

really well though

yes it turned out great it stood the

test of time lisa you'll recognize the

background behind me as photos of you

from your days as miss gazari and anyone

paying attention also knows that your

win at gazary's led to your role in the

1975 sloopy dance film so that brings up

the next question how did you find out

about gazarys in the first place well

the guy i was dating at that time had

heard about it

uh we lived in san fernando valley

and of course bizarre is in hollywood

so we drove down there

and had an absolutely marvelous time

loved it there

great music every time

and so we just continued to go there

uh van halen

got their start their bizarries as other

bands did as well

as you know your fans have made it clear

that they're just as interested in what

you're doing today as in what you were

doing back in the 1970s so can you fill

us in on what's been happening with lisa

leonard dalton what have you been doing

in 2022 the big two events for me this

year so far was february my daughter got

married

and she looked beautiful

the dress that she wore she had she had

it remade somewhat it was the dress that

i wore when i had married her dad

so it was real special

and then i went to california

i got to see two of my sisters

i just wanna dance i just wanna dance

and my other daughter and my two

granddaughters and we hung up by the uh

kings river in california

and had a wonderful time

so i look forward forward to my next

trip lisa i know your california visit

took place over the independence day

holiday did you participate in any

fourth of july celebrations we did

most of the beginning of the day was

preparing food

and several quite a few people came over

barbecued

there was a lot of fireworks at night

and then i have a cute picture to send

you with me standing by the firework

lisa i know you're proud of your family

how many children and grandchildren do

you have i have two daughters

and i have three grandchildren

two girls and one boy

so i have five kids

recently a comment on one of your videos

asked if you are rich and famous i can

speak to the second part of that with

millions of youtube views on your sloopy

dance and interviews and that number

growing daily you're definitely pretty

famous but you better handle the part

about whether or not you're rich so i

try to be happy with with what i have i

don't have

the fanciest of anything

but a little plaque i do have in my

kitchen that i like that i live by that

says the people in life who are the

happiest don't have the best of

everything but they make the best of

everything they have and that is very

true

a lot of people who have a lot of money

that aren't aren't happy

so i try to be happy with what i have

okay lisa we covered a lot of topics

during today's zoom interview but it was

pretty long so to keep this recorded

session relatively short i'll divide it

into two halves so anyone watching this

video is obviously seeing part one and

part two will be out soon as a teaser in

part two we'll introduce two of lisa's

family members who live with her at her

home lisa as always it was great to see

you today always a pleasure and i'll

catch you the next time around stephen

thank you so much you have a wonderful

day

i'll talk to you soon bye
