Love a Lifetime

Episode 20

The Chihua Pill is the most important treasure of Dragon Howl City.

How can outsiders step into the Flower Sea as they wish?

Why don't you think about it?

If the rumor were true, and the Flower Sea had been destroyed,

wouldn't Dragon Howl City be in chaos?

How could we look so calm now?

I understand how you feel.

But after all,

it was because Dragon Howl City helped you that you got to survive.

So, you should hold some basic trust on us, right?

If Master Rong insists that outsiders not step inside,

are you going to bust into it?

If you do that, you'll have fallen into our enemy's trap.

You...

Greetings, Master Rong.

Rong Su of the Hall of Emptiness greets all the faction masters present.

Since you have no confidence in our Dragon Howl City,

we'll agree to your terms.

When the flowers blossom, my Hall of Emptiness

will lead you into the Flower Sea to see them.

OK.

In order to give you all confidence, this is the only way.

Su, the Hall of Emptiness must get prepared for it well in advance.

Don't ever make more mistakes.

Yes.

Su, about the Flower Sea, what ideas do you have?

Tell me.

In the entire Jianghu, only few have seen the real flower

of the Chihua Pill.

Before the faction masters enter the Flower Sea,

we just need to modify it, so that maybe we can fool them

and stall them.

But the real antidote is a problem.

We have to find another way.

Su, have you found anything important

in your investigation into Lingxu Pavilion I assigned you to?

How did the master of Lingxu Pavilion

avoid the backfire of the Chihua Pill?

Her physique is different from ordinary people's.

And she hasn't told me the truth.

Maybe she has her own way.

The entire place of Lingxu Pavilion is heavily guarded.

It's very difficult to find even a tiny bit of that.

I haven't finished the task you assigned to me.

Please punish me.

You haven't done anything wrong in the Flower Sea incident.

Why should I blame you?

But we have promised all the faction masters to

show them the Flower Sea.

We must arrange this matter well as soon as possible.

Yes.

I definitely will handle it in person.

Mo Huan must have been the one who sent out the information in secret.

She wants to make our Dragon Howl City suffer.

Well then, she must have planned more moves.

We have to prevent those.

I'm afraid that we can't hide it for long.

At critical moments,

we have to use ruthless measures.

Right now, Dragon Howl City is facing threats from different sides.

If at this time we make more enemies,

I'm afraid we won't be able to handle the situation.

How can Dragon Howl City be dragged around by others?

Now that Mo Huan wants to crush me with this, then

I won't let her win.

Right now, we need to figure out a perfect plan.

Master Rong,

back then I got taken away by Mo Huan.

I... During this visit to Lingxu Pavilion,

you ran into Mo Huan?

I just recall that she had a picture that she treasured,

in which there was a young and pretty girl.

Sometimes, Mo Huan

would bring it out to appreciate it for a long time.

And, whenever she mentioned this person, she sounded quite proud.

I'm wondering if you remember anything about this lady.

That was the disciple Mo Huan took the most pride in,

my junior fellow disciple, Lin Ruohan.

Back then, Mo Huan always praised her

as the smartest one among us.

Unfortunately, later,

she eloped with the master of the Nalan family

and betrayed the Ling Sect.

This has always been bothering Mo Huan.

Why do you suddenly ask this?

I just have an idea that

since Mo Huan had been staying behind close door for so many years,

we don't know who is with her.

If we don't find it out beforehand,

I'm afraid we may have future disasters.

After all, this Flower Sea incident

was done by Mo Huan alone in secret.

If we can investigate her past, maybe we can find some breakthrough.

In fact, when the Flower Sea was destroyed,

Lin Ruohan came with Mo Huan.

Having been in oblivion in Jianghu for so many years,

Lin Ruohan suddenly showed up again.

She must be targeting our Dragon Howl City.

What other challenges will Dragon Howl City face afterward?

It's very difficult for me to predict too.

It looks like Lingxu Pavilion

is the real foundation of the Nalan family.

Master Rong, then, I'll leave now.

OK.

See you.

Ying.

Ying.

Ying.

Ying.

Ying.

Ying.

Ying, you smell great.

No one in this world can make plum blossom perfume better than you.

Alright.

Are you lost again?

How many times have I told you?

Why can't you remember it?

You lost your direction in your own garden.

That's so laughable.

Dad was so in favor of you.

He taught you everything that he had learned in his life.

Of course I'm not as good as you.

What are you talking about?

Ying, all right.

I just got careless.

Next time, I will pay attention when you teach me.

I will never embarrass the Mei family.

Oh, Ying,

I heard that Miss Rong Su is back to Dragon Howl City.

When she came last time, she acted like she needed our help.

But when she left, she didn't even say goodbye.

How rude she was!

To Dragon Howl City, we're just their pawn.

They use us when they need to,

and abandon us when they're done with us.

Moreover, they can't even manage themselves now.

How could they have time to even think about us?

In my opinion, Dragon Howl City looks down on us,

and abandons us after they used us.

From now on, you'd better not deal with them anymore.

If we need someone to depend on,

Lingxu Pavilion cares about friendship much more than Dragon Howl City does.

You naughty girl,

I think you're planning to go to Lingxu Pavilion again, right?

I... I don't get it.

Why is Lingxu Pavilion so good?

Why did you go to them again and again?

Lingxu Pavilion seems imposing and unapproachable,

but their master does things following her own feelings.

She's reasonable and thinks for others.

How can Dragon Howl City's coldhearted people be comparable to them?

Something doesn't make sense to me.

We are protected by our divination skills.

What about Lingxu Pavilion?

How do they hide themselves?

For so long, why hasn't anyone in Jianghu found their entrance yet?

You have no idea about it.

Lingxu Pavilion is certainly different from ordinary residences.

It's built beside a mountain.

They disconnect themselves from the outside world.

Ordinary people can't get in at all.

Only Lingxu Pavilion members can get in.

However, other entrances aren't so hard to find.

You're preparing the wedding for another woman.

But you're smiling.

I really don't know which part of your mind is missing.

I really don't want to let Nalan Yue go.

But, maybe,

the best blessing in this world is to help one's beloved be with his beloved.

Miss Rong Hua is a kindhearted girl.

I like her a lot.

If I can try my best to help them, Yue definitely will be happy.

You're so silly.

Young Master Mei.

After that serious incident happened to Dragon Howl City,

Miss Rong Hua still has the mood to get married?

Miss Rong Hua is a member of Lingxu Pavilion now,

so my master certainly doesn't want her to wait.

So, the wedding still goes as planned for sure.

Last time, I burned a large area of your plum tree forest.

I'm so sorry.

You're kind and let it be bygone.

But I can't help feeling guilty.

I've always wanted to make up for it.

For all the damages of your plum tree forest, I'll pay.

The plum tree garden is nothing, compared with my only sister.

The breaking of promise of our marriage is bygone now, but this time,

you want Xueman to help with the wedding arrangement personally.

I wonder if Mrs. Lin has considered my sister's future.

Ying... My master has told me her thoughts already.

She specially sent me here.

Would you like to listen to her reasons?

I'm all ears.

First, my master has taken Miss Mei as her daughter.

In terms of kinship, she's a member of the family to help arrange it.

Second, Miss Mei has a pure heart,

and possesses good knowledge and virtue.

With her help for the wedding,

it's such a great honor to Lingxu Pavilion.

This friendship, to my master, to my young master,

and to Miss Rong Hua, will be unforgettable.

I'm so grateful to Master Lin's all-round considerations.

I should be thankful instead.

Since Master Lin has such all-round considerations,

I'm in no position to say anything.

However, if there's a chance this time, I hope that

I can meet your young master and Miss Rong Hua.

After all,

the Mei family and Lingxu Pavilion are already one family now.

When Xueman accepted Master Lin as her mother, it was too hasty,

and we hadn't prepared anything.

As for the young master's wedding, we should

prepare them a great gift anyway and congratulate them in person.

Thank you, Young Master Mei.

But

there're too many trifles to arrange for the wedding.

I wonder if there'll be a free time slot for you to meet them in the pavilion.

I will forward your kindness to them.

If there's a chance, it will be arranged.

Thank you, then, Cangqi.

Alright, Ying.

Let's talk no more.

I'm going with Cangqi now.

I will tell them about your kindness.

Let's go.

See you, Young Master Mei.

Is it that Nalan Yue and Rong Hua are not in Lingxu Pavilion?

Because otherwise,

based on Master Lin's personality, she would avoid Xueman's appearance.

Why would she want Xueman to help?

If Rong Hua really has left Lingxu Pavilion,

with the current situation of Dragon Howl City, maybe

I still have a chance.

Early on,

you tried everything to get the ice crystal from northern wastelands.

Is it useful?

If the ice crystal can boost the Chihua Pill to blossom,

I'm sure the poison from the backfire in Mrs. Lin's body

won't be a big problem anymore.

I hope for that.

In fact, it's clear that

you are also worried about Master Lin's safety, because otherwise,

why would you use your relationships to

get her the ice crystal from northern wastelands?

In that case, why don't you try to find out

what Master Lin thinks about it?

Throughout all this, my target has always been Nalan Yue alone,

rather than Master Lin.

But the one that Master Lin is worried about the most

is precisely your targeted one.

At first, just like you, Master Lin hated Dragon Howl City's guts.

The only wish in her life was to kill Rong Jingfeng for vengeance.

So back then, when Young Master and Miss Rong Hua fell in love,

she really couldn't understand it and even tried to stop them.

But Miss Rong Hua wasn't afraid of Lingxu Pavilion's power at all.

She tried everything she could to develop the antidote for Master Lin,

and for her, she even stole the antidote from Dragon Howl City.

Even the seed of the Chihua Pill that can save Master Lin's life

was also stolen by her from Dragon Howl City.

If we bear only hatred in our hearts, we can't feel people's kindness.

Without Miss Rong Hua, can Master Lin have made it so far?

Of all the countless kindhearted people,

why must Nalan Yue marry his enemy's daughter?

This hatred has nothing to do with the two of them.

Now, what Master Lin has to deal with is

the Nalan family's feud and future.

Have you ever thought about how cruel it is to her?

She founded Lingxu Pavilion,

and it has really been uneasy for her to make it till today.

And you guys' vagabond lives are what hurt her the most.

Now your return can probably overthrow the calmness of

our entire Lingxu Pavilion.

Her only hope is the safety of the family.

She doesn't want anyone to be dragged into the hatred of her generation.

Just let Rong Jingfeng pay this feud of blood himself.

Remember.

Don't hurt Master Lin's feelings anymore.

As long as Master Lin is around, I won't touch Rong Hua.

But if you want me to let go of

this hatred that has lasted for so many years,

it's not going to be that easy.

I can't ask you to feel the exact experience

my Nalan family has been through, but you can't solve it

with a couple of words either.

You're in Lingxu Pavilion.

You don't need to argue about this.

You can take your time to experience things.

This guy Lu Yizhou is unexpectedly different from Nalan Yue.

Is it also your fellow disciple Ruohan's request

to protect her son in secret?

Over all these years, it took her so much care to handle things alone.

It makes sense for me to share some of her burdens.

Since it's Supreme Master

who spread the words out about the Dragon Howl City incident,

her priority target should be Rong Jingfeng.

That shouldn't drag Nalan Yue in this.

What is Lin Ruohan's concern?

As a mother, she's always worried about her son,

just like any other mother.

Oh, is Xuan Ye still lingering outside the Snow Union?

It's said that he's standing at the gate

and didn't move one step away.

Then tell Liuli to delay him.

Just don't let him go back to Dragon Howl City.

It's good to weaken them a little bit anyway.

The Snow Union is already overwhelmed by so many things,

but you're still worried about someone else's son!

How strange you are!

Please keep calm.

And thank you.

What are you doing?

I was wondering

if what stood at my doorway these days was a chunk of wood.

I didn't expect a chunk of wood could react.

I've told you what I came for.

If the Snow Union doesn't accept, I won't go away so easily.

The Snow Union's rules can't be changed so easily.

But... But what?

I mean whatever conditions the Snow Union has,

Dragon Howl City will accept them all.

It's true that the Snow Union's rules can't be changed,

but if Dragon Howl City and Snow Union form an alliance,

things will be different.

How should we form an alliance?

Currently, everyone knows that Dragon Howl City's Flower Sea

has been destroyed.

It's too late to conceal this.

Never mind whether it's a rumor or the truth, if you want to

tackle this problem,

the only way is to cover it with another piece of truth.

What's your plan, Liuli?

Of course, we need to cause some commotion.

But I can't do it alone.

You need to help me, Xuan Ye.

But the Snow Union's people have been beaten down by you,

so from now on, you'll take responsibility for my safety.

What do you think?

This will take me several more days.

I'm worried that Dragon Howl City would... Never mind then.

You'll handle this problem yourselves.

How should I cooperate?

Go south.

Find out the exact details of those factions who spread the rumor.

- Cool! - Cool!

Have a look here.

When back in the city this time, be extremely cautious.

If my dad finds out about the truth, you must deny it.

Just rest absolutely assured.

This time, I won't let anything bad happen to you or to myself.

Before you decide to do anything, talk to me about it.

Got it?

I got it.

No matter what it is, I must talk to you before I do it.

Oh, dear Mrs. Lin, you've been saying that all along the way.

I've got calluses in my ears now.

Naughty girl!

- Little brat! - Master!

You two are finally back after I waited for so long.

How I missed you in this period of more than a month!

I know it.

You two are the only dependable ones.

When Dragon Howl City has a crisis, you two came back right away.

Bai, make some good dishes for us now,

so that we can get some strength back.

All along the way, we've been talking about your great cooking skills.

That's no problem at all.

I'm going right back to make you my best things.

Oh, I thought that no one would help Dragon Howl City

with the problem.

But unexpectedly, you two are not the only ones with conscience.

After Rong Su sent an urgent letter, even Mei Ying also came.

How unexpected!

Mei Ying also came to Dragon Howl City?

He's talking to Master Rong about the matter in the city.

Greetings, Master Rong.

OK.

You and Hua came to help Dragon Howl City deal with the crisis.

I'm so happy.

But due to the urgency of the situation,

the plan probably has to be changed.

Because those faction masters

want to get in and find out what happened to the Flower Sea,

I've decided to let Lin Jing take them into the Flower Sea first.

Su, you must safeguard the city with the disciples of

the Hall of Emptiness.

Do not let any slightest possible accident happen.

But we've got a plan beforehand.

Why do you suddenly change it?

The Flower Sea is a critical place.

Lin Jing is... That's enough.

You don't need to worry about that.

Just do as I tell you to.

Lin Jing rushed back to help us during the crisis.

Why can't we trust him?

Remember.

Do not make any mistake in tonight's action.

Don't worry.

Everything has been well arranged.

With Su safeguarding the city on the outside, everything will go well.

Since it's Master Rong's arrangement, I'll follow it.

OK.

But - Master Rong... - Don't worry.

As long as I see nothing peculiar inside the city,

I will rush to the Flower Sea immediately to meet you.

Master Rong, these are the antidotes.

Take one before you enter the Flower Sea,

and you won't develop the hallucination.

Lin Jing.

Come on.

Try it.

Recently, my cooking skills have been greatly improved.

Unexpectedly, after so many days since I left Dragon Howl City,

the setting of this room hasn't been changed a bit at all.

It's just like it used to be.

Of course.

I strictly forbade anybody from touching

anything in your room and Hua's without permission.

Hua will marry you and live far away from here,

but you two may come back at any time.

And Dragon Howl City isn't short of rooms.

So, this place is for you both.

Come back to live here anytime you want.

I'll try that.

Come on. Quickly!

Try it. I cooked it a moment ago.

Quickly.

How is it?

Nice!

I knew it.

Do I owe this to Ms. Ziyan?

You cooked this for her?

I made this specially for you and Hua.

When you're over with something, it's bygone.

I'm a real gentleman.

Since I've made it clear with her, I won't keep going after her.

Right now, I don't think about her anymore

and have dedicated myself to developing my culinary arts.

Recently, I've gained some experience in making soup.

Even Master Rong appreciates it and came to have a bowl of it

for its great smell.

For tonight's action at the Flower Sea, what is your task?

Nothing in particular.

I just safeguard the city with Rong Su.

Get down to it then.

We're running out of time.

Yeah.

Then I'll go now.

Let's talk about soup making later.

Finish this.

Finish this. Finish this.

This is the field of the Chihua Pill.

Why is there plum blossom scent?

We've been walking for quite a while.

When can we take off the blindfolds?

Sorry for keeping you waiting.

Now, you can take off your blindfolds.

Before you is the Flower Sea of the Chihua Pill.

It seems the rumor in Jianghu is indeed false.

Dragon Howl City's Flower Sea is still intact.

Be careful!

Lin Jing, what are you doing?

Lin Jing, why did you trick us?

Why is this happening?

Rong Jingfeng, what exactly is your plan?

It seems you haven't finished the drug soup Bai made for you.

That explains why you could hold up for so long.

You've tricked me indeed.

It isn't until today that I find out why you were so nervous

before the grand elder of the Tang Sect that day.

How well you had been hiding your identity,

Nalan Yue!

If we proceed as we've agreed, will there be any other problems?

With my divination skills and Ms. Ziyan's poison haze,

it's enough to cause the faction masters to hallucinate.

However, it can only last a time span of drinking a pot of tea.

So, please make your time count, Master Rong.

OK.

I'll thank you for the help in advance.

This is a critical matter to Dragon Howl City,

but I'm not a member of your city, and you told me this secret.

So I wonder how much longer I can live after this is tackled.

Now that you came to my city, are you afraid that I'd hurt you?

Last time I came to Dragon Howl City, you took control of my life.

But it's different this time.

These days, I devoted myself to learning the Mei family's techniques.

It's not for the splendor of my family, but at least,

I should be able to take care of my own security.

What's the point you're trying to make?

Since you trust me so well, I have information for you

as a return of favor.

Do you know Lin Jing's real identity?

He's the young master of Lingxu Pavilion.

Is that not true?

He's indeed the young master.

But, he has another name.

Really?

He's called Nalan Yue!

Master!

Lin Jing, why do you try to murder me?

How unexpected Nalan Xi's son

would fall into my hands today!

Help!

What happened?

What just happened?

That master of the Hall of Life has killed all of,

all of the other seven faction masters.

He wanted to kill us all.

It's impossible!

Men, take him to get medical care.

Yes.

Hua, something must be wrong.

Before we figure this out, don't go emotional!

Master, someone must have set Lin Jing up.

I don't think he would do something like that.

Could this be Master Rong's plan?

Our masters are still inside.

Let's rescue them.

- Rescue them! - Rescue them!

Why must you do this?

Why must I do this?

Because this is the only way to transfer the disaster to you,

to divert the crisis to Lingxu Pavilion,

so as to maintain the great reputation of Dragon Howl City

and keep us away from the harm of rumor and betrayal.

Lin Jing!

Nalan Yue!

Master Rong?

- Dad! - How can you be so ruthless?

Nalan Yue took order from the master of Lingxu Pavilion

and used tricks to burn my Flower Sea,

killed all these faction masters, and even tried to frame up

Dragon Howl City with this.

I've been treating you well.

Why do you treat Dragon Howl City in such a vicious way?

That's a pretty good show.

You think all others would believe your play?

Of course.

All these people who died in front of us are the evidence.

Do you know that

his name isn't Lin Jing.

His name is Nalan Yue!

He's... He's... He's Nalan Yue?

Yeah!

How unexpected!

He infiltrated my Dragon Howl City to destroy my Flower Sea

and take my Chihua Pill.

All these faction masters who died are the best evidence.

I will join you all to help you get your justice

and punish this murderer.

Kill him! Kill him! Kill him!

Stop!

Stop!

Lin Jing wouldn't do that.

I can prove his innocence.

Hua, don't be stupid.

There's nothing to fear.

All heroes here, our Dragon Howl City

will never be afraid of Lingxu Pavilion.

I'm going to help you punish this criminal

and avenge the faction masters' death.

Hua, step aside.

Rong Jingfeng!

Lin Jing, I trust you.

Hua!

Rong Hua, sober up.

Whatever happens, you're his daughter,

and Miss Rong of Dragon Howl City.

Miss Rong, he's a descendant of the Nalan family.

Besides, so many people have died.

You have to keep your sanity.

Shut up!

Step aside!

Step aside!

Master, Auntie, he must have been set up.

I beg you two to help him.

Hua, don't let your emotion take over yourself.

Master Rong... I am here.

It doesn't need Master Rong to do it himself.

Nalan Yue, put down your weapon!

Trust me.

Don't do stupid things.

Things have come this far now.

Just surrender yourself.

Dad, you didn't even bother to investigate what really happened

and just called him the murderer.

This is a living person.

I won't allow you to hurt him just like this.

Don't worry!

Our Dragon How City will never let a criminal walk free here.

Moreover, since he has destroyed

our greatest treasure, the Chihua Pill, the first one to kill him

will certainly be Dragon Howl City.

However, if we just kill him now, that'd make it so easy for him.

Yeah!

It won't be too late to kill him after we interrogate him.

Master Rong!

Dad!

Dad!

Look at this kid.

I must have spoiled her these days.

How can she do whatever she wants in something major like this?

All heroes here, today, I can only detain this murderer now.

But I can promise you that one day

when our Dragon Howl City strikes Lingxu Pavilion,

I will definitely bring this murderer to justice

for the sake of all the faction masters who got killed today.

I accept your arrangement.

I hope Dragon Howl City can avenge our masters' death soon.

Men, get this murderer under detention.

Let go!

Su!

You could do that only because Master Rong and Auntie care about you.

Rong Hua, sober up.

According to the development so far, if it were not Nalan Yue,

who else could be the murderer?

You haven't seen it yourself, so don't jump into conclusion!

We will find out the truth.

Nalan Yue's life is not under threat.

So, you stay here to calm yourself.
