[Queen of Masks]

[February 18, 2013. The day of the incident]

Will you marry me?

[Episode 5] That bastard is humiliating his family!

Does he love his fiancée that much?

I'm so thankful that Assemblyman and Do Shik

like Yoo Jung a lot.

Not at all! You offered your kind and well-behaved daughter to us.

I should be thanking you instead.

Now that we're on topic...

I'm getting my flawed daughter married to such an impressive family.

Is that really enough for the wedding present?

It costs a lot of money and it won't help your career at all.

You never know if it'd become a money-sucking ghost

or a goose that lays golden eggs.

Now that you mentioned it...

Let me bring this up.

Why don't we finish this up today?

[Agreement for transferring the ownership of property]

Are we in that much of a rush...

The wedding is in two weeks.

We don't have to keep delaying it.

I guess you're right.

Hold on.

I think it makes sense to do this after the wedding.

A small contract is still is a contract.

I guess you never know until the wedding day with kids these days.

Why don't we leave them alone?

The kids would feel uncomfortable if they knew we were here.

- What? Did she run away? - Yes.

[Queen of Masks]

They finished reading the wedding vows

by promising eternal love for each other.

Here comes the final step of the wedding vow.

The bride and groom will kiss now!

It was him.

Song Je Hyeok.

He's the man behind the mask you're looking for.

Now, they will chance the wedding presents.

The bride and groom's sweet and precious daughter,

Ms. Song Na Na is here to deliver the presents.

Looks like she favors Mom.

Now the groom, Song Je Hyeok, and the bride Joo Yoo Jung promised to become a couple who will share

hardship for the rest of their lives in front of friends and family.

I announce that their wedding has finished successfully.

Go Yoo Na!

What happened?

How did you end up with that mask?

He left it in the US and I brought it with me.

Are you sure it was Je Hyeok's?

You might've taken someone else's from that room that day.

You trust him more than me?

It's not about whom I trust!

I care more about who the mask belongs to.

That's why I have to be careful.

Let me ask you something, too, then.

What's with the blood on the mask?

That day,

when he did something awful to me,

I...

I swung a knife and ran away.

Since you know now,

you should give me that mask.

If I get the blood on the mask tested,

I can find out if it really belongs to Song Je Hyeok or not.

What if I gave it to you?

If I did,

would you betray him and Yoo Jung and get me my daughter back?

Forget it.

I'll find out myself.

If the mask really belongs to Song Je Hyeok or not.

I spent the last decade trying to find out

who the mask belongs to,

I can't let you take the lead on something

so important to me.

Fine.

So you don't care who I

give that mask to, then, right?

[Expiration of the statute of limitations for the rape case, D-day]

Let me make a toast.

Please pick up the glasses in front of you.

To their happiness for 10 years and 100 years!

To their happy married life!

Look how shiny she is.

I'm talking about Yoo Jung.

You must be disappointed.

If only that didn't happen to your son,

that jewel could've been yours.

Ms. Gil, are you provoking me right now?

Assemblyman, please look at the camera for a second.

Chairman, please look this way, too.

Let me take one, too.

Let me take a group shot.

Okay.

[Metal Night Club]

[Closed]

[Ace]

I haven't noticed anything that appears to be an opening event for the Angels' Club.

What are we missing?

[Manager Jo Yong Pil]

[I haven't noticed anything that appears to be an opening event for the Angels' Club. What are we missing?]

- I'm hungry! - You came.

I couldn't eat anything because of the dress.

Is something going on?

You've been acting weird since the wedding.

It's nothing.

She must be disappointed that Yoo Jung got married.

But don't worry.

She might come back in no time.

What a great thing to say on their wedding day.

Look! He looks like someone else dressed up like that.

Honestly, he could easily be the top dog in the industry I'm in, too.

You're right.

Yoo Jung should get nervous.

He looks like a celebrity today.

Excuse me.

Let me do it.

Thank you.

- Guys. - Yoo Jung!

Congratulations!

Did you enjoy the meal?

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

- Bravo! - What are you doing to the groom right now?

You shower people with champagne at the club like this!

Are we in the club right now? Don't let your old habit come out!

- You're all wet! - I'm okay.

- Take your jacket off first! My gosh! - I'm okay.

You'd catch a cold. You should take it off, Je Hyeok.

No, I'll go change over there.

Just take it off. Don't make the bride worry.

Yes.

I'll go change, then.

Wait for me, Je Hyeok!

Were you looking for this?

Where are Kang Hoo and Leo?

They went to get the cars.

Sorry about the champagne earlier.

Leo is still immature.

No, I'm actually glad.

Thanks to him, I didn't have to go to that table.

I really didn't want to run into him.

Gi Yoon Chul. He must be a pervert.

How could he come to his son's ex-fiancée's wedding? He should know better.

I think he knows Je Hyeok.

But I'm too scared to ask him about it.

What are you scared of? You even got a marriage license!

So what he finds out about your past?

You got a marriage license already?

Why did you do that already? What's the rush?

Jae Yi. I saw it earlier.

The way you were looking at Je Hyeok.

You must be worried

that I chose someone wrong again.

By the way, Jae Yi, don't worry.

I'm confident that I'll live happily this time.

I'm sure that Je Hyeok is a good man.

Thank you so much for making time for us.

Will you be taking Youngwoon's entire assets now, then?

I have to manage them well from now on

since important people like you would be watching.

Congratulations on your wedding again.

I hope only happy things happen to you.

Enjoy your trip, then.

You know that you have to treat the jewel carefully, right?

I'll get going now, then.

- Okay. - Yes.

Na Na went to the camp with Aunt.

Please bring these home for us.

Got it.

[Chunsarang Orphanage]

Are you going on the honeymoon right away?

Yes.

I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Je Hyeok prepared it alone to surprise me.

He's so romantic.

I wonder where you'll go to.

Has Je Hyeok moved in?

Yeah, he moved into my house two days ago.

Well, I'll get going now.

If Kang Hoo asks about me, tell him that I had to leave in a hurry.

Yoo Jung, you...

have to call me when something happens.

Okay?

Yes, I will.

I'll get going.

Sir, hello.

You know me, right?

Of course, I do. You're Chairwoman's friend.

What is this about?

Well, I'll bring Yoo Jung's stuff home for her.

I prepared a surprise present, too.

Why don't you give that to me?

I'll deliver it for you.

Well, I need to set it up a bit.

I have to do it myself.

Since it's a surprise present,

please don't tell Yoo Jung and Je Hyeok that I went instead.

Okay, got it.

What's the passcode for the front door?

The fact that Do Jae Yi was

sexually assaulted by the man in a mask that night was true?

That day, when he did something awful to me,

I swung a knife and ran away.

If she ran away,

who killed Gi Do Shik, then?

By chance...

Je Hyeok.

Yes?

Please tell me now.

The surprise honeymoon destination.

That place is...

I need to find some kind of evidence.

We're not going all the way there like this, right?

We just arrived.

The place we'll spend our first night together.

Are we at the airport already?

It's the most beautiful and peaceful place in the world.

It's...

this place.

You made me look forward to it.

We're having our honeymoon at home?

Just come in for now.

Hold on.

I'll put on the correction shoes.

Je Hyeok! My gosh!

- You don't need stuff like that. - Well...

Are you disappointed that the surprise honeymoon desetination

was home?

It's once in a lifetime event.

Having that at home is a bit disappointing.

I wanted to have our only honeymoon here.

Because this is the world of Joo Yoo Jung, the woman I love the most in the world.

Just wait and see.

You've been protecting this world feeling lonely,

but I'll make it the most beautiful and happy place.

And I'll make sure the pain, sadness,

and loneliness never find you again.

So we should spend the night here.

To celebrate the fact that I entered your world.

I'm sorry.

I didn't even know that was your intention.

If so...

The champagne smell!

I don't think I can embrace you smelling like this.

I'll go take a shower, too.

Queen first, then?

Did you have fun?

How...

Were you watching...

me?

A mouse comes into the house sometimes.

What should we do?

You got your cover blown by the mouse.

It was you, wasn't it?

That night.

- That mask. - Mask?

What mask?

You think I'm doing this without any evidence?

I don't know what evidence you have,

but you want to compare it with my DNA?

I haven't used that toothbrush that may times.

Why don't you bring something that's more definitive?

What could there be?

Should I kiss you like I did to Yoo Jung?

Or...

My hair?

Or...

The same thing...

as the evidence you have?

You crazy...

Just wait and see.

I'll make sure to reveal that you're

that bastard from that night.

Why?

You can check right now!

If I'm that man in mask that night or not!

Aren't you scared...

to get your cover blown?

I'm scared. I'm scared to death

that Yoo Jung would find out.

That you and I did it.

But the evidence you have

doesn't prove that I did something bad to you unilaterally.

We could've done it because we wanted to.

But please don't tell Yoo Jung that we did it.

It was 10 years ago,

but she's so tidy. She'd get so hurt.

What will you do?

There's no evidence that I did something bad to you.

There's only evidence that we did it together.

Je Hyeok, where are you?

You're making me shy!

[Statute of limitations for the rape case. Expired]

What will you do?

There's no evidence that I did something bad to you.

There's only evidence that we did it together.

But the evidence you have

doesn't prove that I did something bad to you unilaterally.

We could've done it because we wanted to.

Nothing would've happened if you lived quietly.

You have no shame. Because you tried to find me,

you suffered for 10 years.

I was always watching you.

And I showed up in front of you again as your friend's husband.

Right, feel free to visit me anytime if you miss that night.

I'll always be around you.

♫ I can't just ignore my heart as if nothing is going on ♫

♫ You're growing even more without me noticing it ♫

♫ Step by step, I'll approach you so I can almost touch you ♫

♫ I'm filling all the gaps with you ♫

The call is not going through. You'll be connected to the voicemail after the beep...

Jae Yi! Jae Yi!

Jae Yi! Jae Yi!

Jae Yi, wake up! Jae Yi!

I hope you don't wear a white shirt in front of me from now on.

This?

Jae Yi...

Mom!

Mom! Mom!

Mom. Mom, Mom!

Why do you keep calling Mom so much?

Because you're pretty.

Do you think I'm that pretty?

You're the prettiest in the world!

Do you think I'm that pretty?

I think you're the prettiest in the world, too, Na Na.

- By the way, Mom. - Yeah?

You're not going anywhere anymore, right?

You'll keep living with me, right?

Of course.

I'm your mom. Where else can I go?

I'll always be by your side.

Here it comes!

- Hello, Ms. Joo. - Hello, Ma'am.

Hi, Na Na.

Hello!

Should we get in the car together?

It's okay. Hold her hand.

She's in your care, Ma'am.

Yes, don't worry.

Na Na, say goodbye to Mom.

I'll be back soon!

Yes, Na Na. Have fun!

Bye.

[Bitnarae Kindergarten]

What's this all of a sudden?

I'm glad.

You at least take good care of the child.

Were you watching me?

Why?

I wasn't exactly watching you.

Anyway,

do you know where Do Jae Yi is?

I don't know.

She's ignoring my calls and texts, too.

Do you know?

I wouldn't have asked you if I did.

I asked you because I couldn't reach her, either.

You could've just asked me on the phone.

Why did you come all the way here?

Do you know?

That you're the biggest obstacle?

What?

Forget it.

If Jae Yi calls you, tell her to call me.

I need to ask her something.

What a coward!

She ran away because I scared her once?

She hasn't come home for a week already.

She's not even showing up at the office.

Why did you scare Do Jae Yi anyway?

Did you get caught by chance-

What do you mean, get caught?

I took a preventative measure because she might poke around regarding the mayor of Tongju and whatnot.

Since nothing's getting in the way anymore,

is the Angels' Club beginning now?

Tell the members.

That...

it's the devil's turn now.

Hi.

I'm the guy who used to live in the house before.

I called you a few times earlier

to ask you to look for something important I left behind.

What?

My ex-wife took it?

Go Yoo Na is the problem right now. Not Do Jae Yi.

I know you have the mask.

Don't do anything stupid.

You know who's behind me, right?

I know who's behind you.

I have so many people to show off to now.

It's Go Yoo Na. We should meet.

If you stand me up again, I'll come to the National Assembly.

Who came?

Yoo Na did? In front of your house?

Yes!

I was seeing Na Na getting on the kindergarten bus.

And she asked me if I can reach Jae Yi.

I'm so scared of how she keeps showing up out of the blue.

I'm scared of you showing up early in the morning like this, too!

Why not use your phone?

Je Hyeok was home.

If I called you, I had to talk about Yoo Na.

I'm so embarrassed toward Je Hyeok that I have a friend like her.

Speaking of Je Hyeok...

You were supposed to donate the orphanage property to the promotion committee.

Why aren't you doing it?

Je Hyeok is very attached to the orphanage.

Give the money the hotel donated back, then!

I really don't know what to say to the chairman!

Fine!

If we hear from Jae Yi, we'll ask her what'd happen with Yoo Na's land

and give it back to you.

So you'd better stop bringing up money in front of me!

Anyway, where did Jae Yi go off to?

I couldn't reach Kang Hoo, either.

Could they...

be together, by chance?

Thank you.

I think it's been 10 years

since I relaxed without doing anything like this.

Yes. Don't do anything and rest.

You're my sanctuary again.

You know, right?

That you've always been my sanctuary.

Jae Yi.

Yeah?

You won't quit this battle, right?

I know.

That it's exhausting to just watch.

So Kang Hoo...

I didn't mean it like that.

I just wanted to check.

So Jae Yi...

Don't ever get discouraged.

I'm always there for you if you get tired.

Okay?

Okay.

It's a wine from Napa Valley I brought from the US directly.

Have some.

Why are we meeting here out of all places?

- This is- - I know.

It's the room where Gi Do Shik, your only son died.

The reason why I called you here

is to talk about your son's death.

My son?

What's this?

10 years ago, on the day your son died,

Do Jae Yi was sexually assaulted by a man wearing this mask in this room.

This blood is from when she swung a knife at that man.

My son didn't sexually assault anyone!

When did I tell you it was him?

I suppose it was Song Je Hyeok.

Song Je Hyeok?

I've been thinking looking at this mask.

I don't think it was Do Jae Yi who killed your son.

It's not easy for a woman to fight two men using a knife.

Who's the real culrpit, then?

Couldn't it be Song Je Hyeok?

You've been helping out the man

who killed your son without knowing anything.

Why don't you jump ship?

Leave Song Je Hyeok and come to me.

If you're telling me a lie,

you'll have to take responsibility.

Keep it in mind!

That I'm capable of getting you out

of prison and put you back in it, too.

Let's leave now.

[Palchon Blood Sausage Soup]

Did you know that Jae Yi's friend Yoo Jung got married?

I went to the wedding.

You went to see Jae Yi!

You should keep an eye on her that way.

She's your daughter.

Nothing's going on with her, right?

I couldn't reach her for about a week.

But she called me just now.

In an energetic voice,

she said she found a way to free herself or something.

I don't know how she found a way to free herself

from what's been constraining her for 10 years,

but I'm just glad.

Jae Yi's mom must be protecting her from heaven.

Attorney Do.

I had a nice vacation thanks to you, too.

It couldn't have been a vacation.

People must've been calling and looking for me a lot.

You have no idea.

Chairwoman Joo Yoo Jung and Vice President Yoon Hae Mi called a lot.

I'll call them when I'm ready.

Song Je Hyeok can't hear about what I've been up to at all.

I know, but...

how will you fight him on your own?

That's why I'm thinking of letting a soldier in.

It's someone who knows my enemy well.

Isn't it pretty?

Okay.

You're all I can think about.

You're a flower to me.

Look at you now.

It's hard to make a living, isn't it?

Follow me. Let's talk.

[You're all I can think about. You're a flower to me]

I'll never do it!

I'm only managing drugs here as we promised, okay?

I'll never manage clients.

Come on.

It's not just a normal client, I said.

I won't do it!

Leo.

There's a secret club that only has the top VVIPs.

You'll be managing those members.

You're effective with the VVIPs.

That's how you seduced your wife, too.

I didn't seduce her! I love her!

Yes, love.

But it looks like your love is suffering a bit these days.

- It looked like she was looking for drugs, too. - What?

So did you give something to her?

No, not yet.

But you never know

if you keep acting this way.

Shit!

So let's do it just once. Just once.

I won't ask you again.

It's just this once!

Instead, if you sell drugs to my wife,

I'll burn this whole place down, okay?

You came.

- Ma'am? - Yes.

I got Cha Leo, Yoon Hae Mi's husband.

Good work.

We could get Yoo Hae Mi, too, if we're lucky.

You can't go in! You can't go in!

- I"m sorry. - Yes.

I'm the chairman here.

Please be polite.

Are you the one who killed my son?

Go Yoo Na came to me and showed me the bloody mask.

I heard it happened when you sexually assaulted Do Jae Yi!

- Please be careful what you say. - Answer me!

Was it you?

It's true that it happened with Do Jae Yi,

but I'm not the one who killed Do Shik!

Do Jae Yi was holding the knife.

How could I have killed Do Shik?

I got attacked by Do Jae Yi with a knife and ran away.

So I don't know what happened afterward!

If you really killed my son,

you'll face death that's even more miserable than my son's.

Do as you wish.

Also, it's dangerous that Go Yoo Na has that mask.

I won't tell Chairman Kang Il Goo about

what you did to Do Jae Yi.

So take that mask back.

Okay?

You're all I can think about. You're a flower to me.

I don't think your sweetness is working, either.

Let's meet at Grand Gangbo Hotel after an hour.

You know to keep this a secret from Leo, right?

[Ace Bar's CEO Jung]

[Daesunggak]

You came, Ahgassi.

It's been a while.

Long time no see!

Have you been well? Where's Mom?

She's in the room.

I told you to give me alcohol. What's this raisin tree tea for?

I don't give alcohol to anyone just because we sell alcohol.

What's this about?

You never come here because you're afraid people would see you.

It's not because I'm afraid people would see me.

It's because I'm annoyed by how you yell at Leo!

I worked so hard to raise you.

Can't believe he's the one you chose! Geez! Geez!

Here we go again! Geez!

What did I expect coming here?

Yoo Hae Mi! Sit down!

You came here because something happened.

What is it?

What's going on?

Mom.

The arts and culture village Jae Yi is building in Tongju.

She was supposed to include me and Yoo Jung in it after she takes the land from Yoo Na.

But I can't reach Jae Yi for more than a week.

How am I supposed to interpret this?

Interpret, my foot.

You got betrayed!

I did? By Jae Yi?

You think she doesn't know how to do math?

She could split the land with Go Yoo Na.

Why would she include you and Yoo Jung and split it three ways?

No way.

I've been friends with her forever!

She'll never betray us.

People betray even their own family for money.

And you're friends with her? That's no problem.

You think you wouldn't do that with Yoo Jung?

Mom, what should I do

if she really betrayed me?

What do you mean, what should you do?

I'll give you a weapon.

Stab her in the pit of her stomach.

Weapon?

Do you know her weakness, by chance?

Go Yoo Na, we should meet.

Give me the mask.

Then I'll give you your daughter.

Give me the mask. I'll give you Na Na, then.

I'm on my way to the hotel now.

[Song Je Hyeok, Do Jae Yi]

Do Jae Yi...

Or Song Je Hyeok?

You came home early.

You know, the orphanage property?

We're supposed to donate it to the promotion committee.

I think we need to hurry up with it.

We haven't received the land to build the arts and culture village yet.

Hae Mi wants to take care of that first.

- Let's donate that first and- - No.

We can't donate it.

If I say no, you can't!

Aren't I the chairman of Youngwoon Foundation?

Was it just a title?

Well, it's not that.

I can't reach Jae Yi to resolve the issue.

And Hae Mi keeps rushing me.

Why do you keep letting your friends drag you around?

What are you, a cripple?

A cripple?

You should care for the baby unless you want to

humiliate your family yourself.

Let's hope it's not a cripple like you.

How could you say such a thing...

Aigoo.

I'm sorry.

I said the wrong thing because I was so angry.

I'm the one who you should trust and depend on from now on.

But I think you care about your friends too much.

Please listen to me, too, from now on.

The one who loves and cherishes you the most in this world

is me, your husband.

Yes.

I'll step out for a second.

Don't fall asleep and wait for me.

We're still newlyweds.

Tell him not to worry.

I'll make sure to secure the mask.

[Secretary Choi]

Are you here to take this?

What should we do?

I got it first.

You're sitting in the same spot you sat 10 years ago.

I heard you got scared and ran away.

But I guess you got braver in the meantime.

I know.

But I'm not afraid of you right now.

To be honest, I feel kind of sorry for you that

you're scared that I'd take this mask.

I'm scared of you? No way!

Did you forget? The statute of limitation expired.

That's when we didn't know this mask belonged to you.

The statute of limitation gets extended when the culprit's DNA gets found.

The statute of limitation was on pause

when you ran away from the country. That means...

your statute of limitation is still in effect. Very much so.

Let's say the statute of limitation got extended.

But what can you possibly do?

I told you.

This mask doesn't prove that I did anything bad to you.

I know.

What I need to do now

is to take the Song Je Hyeok mask you're wearing right now.

I'll reveal everything including the fact that you raped me

10 years ago and everything that happened

in this room that night.

You want to reveal everything that happened 10 years ago?

You might end up touching what you're not supposed to, then.

Is that...

Angels' Club?

Where you wear masks?

Wow, you've been catching up a lot.

Just wait.

If I take control of Tongju after becoming the mayor,

I'll reveal everything including where you belong,

what kind of things you do,

and what your goal is.

I'm looking forward to it.

You won't disappoint me, right?

Yoo Jung.

I think Jae Yi betrayed us.

The door is opening.

Are you done talking to Jae Yi?

Shall we talk now?

[2019]

Do you like staring at me?

Should we get married?

I like you a lot.

We first met yesterday.

What do you know about me?

I can start getting to know you now.

I'm curious...

what your world would be like.

I think meeting you...

was the luckiest thing that happened in my life.

[Queen of Masks]

♫ The dark desires hiding behind the masks ♫

♫ They're liars. The truth is hiding behind the curtain. My flashy looks... ♫

You saw Jae Yi? Where?

In front of Yoo Na's hotel.

- Let's do this. - Good luck, Do Jae Yi.

If Jae Yi betrayed us,

what should we do then?

What are you planning to do?

Threaten Jae Yi with this.

Or give this to Song Je Hyeok.

It's clear that he's the culprit.

How's this?

This is the perfect place for you.

The very bottom.

Jae Yi! Jae Yi! Jae Yi!

Do you think I'm a joke?

Na Na was looking for you.

Me, you, and our daughter.

We were happy in the US.

Tell me.

What's Do Jae Yi planning to do from now on?

No matter how perfect your mask is,

your true face will eventually get revealed.
