Hey y'all, it is me, Jasmine Kennedie.

I am 22 years old, from New York city.

Jasmine Kennedie came from two things,

Jasmine was from Aladdin, duh, obvious,

and then Kennedie came from my biological mom.

My original drag name was Jasmine Rikers

'cause I wanted to be jailbait,

but my mom was like, no, if you're gonna be a drag queen,

you gotta be a classy drag queen.

So I just changed it to Kennedie

from the inspiration of Jackie Kennedy.

My mom was like, she's a style icon, she was a moment.

And she held herself with such high standards, like myself.

So I was like, sure, let's do it.

And then it's spelled with an IE

'cause Instagram wouldn't let me spell it with a Y.

I mean, it's an honor to represent New York

and to be be the only one,

I mean that is a (bleep) dream come true.

I guess you could say the drag I do is very pageantry,

but it's also, I like to say a little bit of a new wave,

you know, and like to add, you know,

a little inspiration from fashion.

This is definitely like Versace inspired, you know,

we love grommets, we like things like that.

But I'm also a show girl, I love to perform.

I'm the backflipping bimbo of New York city.

Ooh, I mean, I do drag for a lot of reasons.

I mean, I've always been performing

since I was a little child.

I mean, the second I could perform in front of my family

and have a high heel on.

I mean, hello, let's do it.

I talk a lot in New York's, I babble on the mic.

So I usually have a co-host with me

to help me guide through it.

So when people first meet me, I would say,

they definitely think I am, you know,

polished from head to toe (speech crossfades)

Um, but I'm here for a good time and I don't mean it

by any reason, no malice...

...but I mean, people say I'm a good time, you know,

I like to drink out at the club with the girls after the

show, get us some... ...that's usually my vibe...

...and yeah, a good time but chill,

also I'm a little bit

of a home body ...I also have my cat

and like playing video games all day.

You know, that's, like, basically what I do.

During the day I'm a housewife,

during night, I'm a drag queen.

I definitely bring old school with the touch of new school

and I think it's needed

because you always have to remember where we came from

and also like push it forward.

I think the biggest misconception about me is either

one, I'm stupid and I don't know what's going on.

I think also another big misconception about me

is that people think I can't do ballads

because I'm a backflipping bimbo.

To be on season 14 is a dream come true.

The fact that I got the call that I was on drag race,

the year I would have graduated college, technically,

if I continued it, to me, it was like, okay,

this is my graduating year.

Let's step it up, I've been doing it for seven years.

This is a time to show the world,

look at the material, she can dance, she can act,

she can sew.

Acting, actually, kind of, you know.

I think everybody should, you know,

have a good time and not take everything super seriously

when it comes to competitiveness.

I know it's a competition, but at the end of the day,

we're here to have fun and you make a sisterhood.
