I've been watching drag race since season one.
Season one, episode four, to be exact.
Right, but happened to
the first 3 episodes of Drag Race?
You didn't watch 'em?
Uh, well I, I didn't watch 'em.
I didn't know.
I didn't know it until my friend on the school bus told me.
Like we were sitting on the school bus and he was like,
"yeah, it's a show with drag Queens.
You need to go watch it."
And I've been watching it ever since.
I can't stop watching it.
And I'm on it!
I don't know when that happened.
What!?
Me?
I'm on drag-
Girl I'm on Drag Race, ooh!
Sound good when I say it too.
(upbeat rave music)
What's the tea Miss Mama's?
My name is Angeria Paris van Michaels,
but y'all can call me Angie.
And I am the glamorous Southern Belle from ATL, honey.
(gasps)
I think when people first meet me, I think they say,
oh my God, he is so lovely.
And then I opened my mouth and then they say,
this bitch is country as hell!
Drag in Atlanta, first of all is very, very diverse.
There are so many different kinds of Queens in Atlanta.
Like, oh my God, but the one thing
that we all have in common, so many polished entertainers.
Like you gonna get some good drag
when you come to Atlanta, okay.
All of my background is pageant. I come from pageants.
I am a pageant girl, to my core.
One thing that pageants teaches you is,
they teach you how to prepare for competition.
So this is no different.
This is just a big old pageant
on national television, child.
So I describe my personal style as like,
if you took a country-ass-bitch and then you
put that hoe on the red carpet, then you have me.
My reputation in Atlanta is known
for being one of the great makeup artists.
Everybody knows that I be beating the girl's faces
and I be beating my own face.
'Cause they know when they see an Angeria, honey,
she's going to be "painted" out of her mind.
Woo! (giggles)
Maybe the strangest thing about me is, um,
I, you know what, uh?
I really, I don't now.
There are a lot of strange things about me.
Yeah, those things will be left
for behind closed doors conversations, mhm.
(intermission beep)
My super power would be, all I would have to do
is touch your face and you'll be instantly painted, period.
Just instantly beat. just boom! There you go.
Don't have to hire you no makeup artist or nothin'.
I mean, I would charge for it, you know.
You know, don't have to come cheap.
(cash register rings)
(upbeat dance music)
I feel like I was born in a crown.
Put on crowns like I put on draws.
The one thing that I am nervous about
in this competition, is going home first.
Lord have mercy.
(Gospel music playing)
Lord if you are there just know,
I do not want to go home first.
Girl, I ain't come all the way
from Atlanta, Georgia to go home first.
No! who, ah uh!
Oh, it's absolutely, fair house down, back boots,
that I am going to win this competition.
Yes.
(giggles)
I am absolutely America's Next Drag Superstar, because
I got the Charisma, the Uniqueness, the Nerve, the Talent,
but I also got the heart.
I am leaving my entire heart on the floor
in this competition, okay.
I'm putting all my blood, sweat, tears, everything.
I'm leaving it all on the floor this season
because I gots to win this.
Speaking it into existence, periodt, dot.
(upbeat dance music)
