Original subtitles

I am Dai Huan, a cardiac surgeon.

The patient's quality of life,

it can self-regulate to save their lives.

My job is to save lives.

However, after receiving a box, I've been dragged into a killing game.

Please, don't do that.

Are you Feng Lei?

I must kill the man in the picture,

or someone I love will die.

Dad.

Grandpa.

Dad.

My father-in-law passed away because of this.

And now my son is gone.

We don't know if he is still alive.

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

Hello?

Hello?

Hello?

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

Mom!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

Excuse me?

Are you looking for a young boy?

Yeah.

He climbed up into my truck. And he won't come out.

Are you his mom?

Yeah? Well, I bet he'd hop straight down for you.

He's just over here. This way. Come on.

You're on TV.

The cops are after you.

Write down this address.

It's somewhere safe to hide.

No one's been there for a long time.

Please be careful when you get into the house.

You're on some kind of road trip?

Sort of.

A beautiful lady in a crappy motel, how'd that happen?

We're just trying to save money.

It's your truck?

Yeah, right there.

XiaoYong!

No, but he's not in there.

He's down there. Eh?

I left the back open when I was sweeping it out.

XiaoYong!

Come on.

Just behind one of the boxes.

Go on, after you.

Don't come near me.

What's this?

When did you get the box?

How much time have you got?

I'm...

Come on, darling.

Don't come near me!

Okay! Look, I don't have a weapon.

Didn't anyone ever teach you how to use that thing?

See, I'm afraid the safety is still on.

Geez, the safety really was on.

Help!

Let me go!

Be careful when you get into the house.

Get off me!

Are you there? Hello?

Get in there!

XiaoYong.

Do you know what my favorite part of the game is?

Sometimes,

they give me a whole family.

No.

No! Stop!

Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go, XiaoYong.

Get up.

Let's go.

We're here.

Is this Kang's house?

Yes, I think so.

XiaoYong, come on.

I feel like...

I can't handle this anymore.

This is too scary.

Too crazy.

Are you hiding something from me?

No.

Honestly, trust me.

As long as we stay together, no one will be in danger.

I miss Dad.

I know.

If you had another chance.

What would you choose?

I really don't know.

But what I can be sure of is...

I will never kill.

But as things have reached this stage,

there's no use in crying.

I promise you...

I'll definitely make them pay.

I'm with you.

I must make them pay.

Blood for blood.

It's me.

I brought coffee and croissants.

I got them off the black market. Encrypted phones with high security.

Gangsters standard specifications.

Each time you make a call, send a text, or use the Internet,

you must change the SIM card

and throw the old one away.

That can really block them?

I can't guarantee it.

You saw how they killed your father-in-law,

and the police are after you for murder.

- They will try to locate you. - Murder?

They are after you for murder?

XiaoYong, go to your room.

How many other things are you hiding from me?

XiaoYong!

I haven't had a chance to tell you yet.

I'll talk to him.

Why is he wanted by the cops for murder?

I don't know. Sorry.

XiaoYong!

Will they take you away?

No.

Daddy is promising you.

I'll never let that happen.

I can tell them, tell the police

you had nothing to do with Grandpa's death.

You don't have to do that.

XiaoYong.

None of this has anything to do with you, understand?

Come here.

This will last you for a few days.

You can stay here first.

It's very safe. Don't worry.

I'll meet my lawyer when I get back.

And check if the police has any evidence against you.

Alright.

Another thing.

This.

You can't eat them,

but they might keep you alive.

Have your phone on tomorrow morning at 9:00.

I'll keep you up to date.

Please, no.

Mom!

For you, Grandpa.

Now you can eat chocolate.

Everything is going to be okay.

Right, Dad?

Hi, it's CrazyGirl.

Everything okay?

When you said

you knew stuff about the game,

it wasn't about Woh-Woh, was it?

You're in it, aren't you?

How do I get out of it?

Get off me.

Help!

Help! Help me!

XiaoYong.

XiaoYong, wake up.

XiaoYong.

Mom's still asleep. I've got a job for you.

- What? - You'll see.

Get up.

It would be better

if we hid the car before they come, you got it?

Do you think they can find us?

Let me know if you get tired, alright?

I'm not tired at all.

Hold it.

Mom!

Mom!

Kang.

I see.

You're saying they're releasing my picture

but not my name?

What about the wanted list?

Don't make a sound if you want to live.

To the front, quietly.

No.

I'm helping you.

Your only chance to live is if you leave them.

I could've killed you if I wanted to,

what am I waiting for?

Hurry up.

Mom!

Mom!

Back off!

Let him go.

Back off! Don't come any closer!

- Put the gun down! - Back off. I won't hurt him.

Put the gun down!

You put the gun down.

You wanted to kill me the other day?

No. I just got the box. I swear!

XiaoYong, you know her?

He was walking around with an old man the other day.

Someone wanted to kidnap him and I saved him.

How did you find us?

The fixers brought me here.

They kidnapped me.

I never wanted to kill him.

Who are the fixers?

They dispose of the bodies, do the kidnappings,

make sure the game keeps going.

They already know we're here?

Yes, there's a GPS in the car you hid.

That's all it takes.

You said they kidnapped you.

Did they also take your family?

They must have!

Both my parents are dead.

I also had a little brother.

This game...

Can anyone really survive this game?

Don't move.

We need to get out of here.

You and XiaoYong go out the back, hurry.

How about her?

I'll deal with it.

XiaoYong, hurry.

Don't move! Come here!

Stay right where I can see you. Come here!

Now I need your help.

Can I trust you?

What should I do?

Help!

Help!

Somebody help!

Help!

Somebody?

Well, what have we here?

You look kind of familiar.

Give me the gun.

Give me the gun.

Put down the chainsaw. Slowly.

Slowly.

Come here.

Kill him.

I'll never kill.

How have you survived until now?

Tie him up and we leave.

She's with us.

Hurry, let's go.

Get in, XiaoYong.

Busy boy.

Is that your Dad?

We can't drive this car. It's too dangerous.

This should be safe.

No computers, no GPS.

No way to track us.

Are you watching?

There will be a day when you have to do this with your own hands.

Sit in the back.

I can drive.

Get in the back, quickly.

You can come back to China with us.

Let's talk when we're out of this.

You can live with us.

My parents will agree.

What are you talking about?

You don't have a home anymore, right?

When we get back to the city,

I will say farewell, goodbye.

Speak Chinese.

I'm saying, once we're in the city, I'll leave.

I'll be free.

Are you looking for the truck driver for revenge?

Yes.

I want to find the person that hurt my Grandfather.

Are they saying

this man is a patient at this hospital?

Doesn't look like it.

He's very healthy.

Maybe he goes to the hospital to visit a relative?

I don't know.

I still need to check the hospital out.

Maybe get us more time.

I'll go with you.

You two hide properly.

Be good and stay in the car, okay?

MeiLing,

I'm entrusting XiaoYong to you.

If anything happens to him, it happens to you.

Mom, nothing will happen to me.

Be careful.

Let's go.

Got it?

Henry. ChingYing.

Room 436.

Can I take her home now?

What happened to the other doctors?

Busy with a patient.

Take some obs, please.

Are you her husband?

Yes.

Would you mind stepping outside for a chat?

I'm going to step outside with the doctor, okay?

So what is it?

I really don't want to do it like this.

But you need to listen to me.

Who the heck are you?

Your wife won't be in any danger.

As long as you do as I say.

Open your shirt.

Turn around.

Foot.

Slowly. Give it to me.

Anything else you want to tell me?

Are you a real doctor?

Let's find somewhere to have a chat.

Let's go.

How long have you been in this game?

This is a test.

Whether you live or die, depends on your answers.

A long time.

I can't remember clearly.

How many boxes have you received?

Fifty.

You've killed fifty people?

Not including those that came to kill me

and those that came to kill my wife.

Haven't you thought of fighting back?

Of course.

They have killed everyone close to me.

She's all I have.

So you can make a move.

Right now, I have two choices.

One,

kill you and show those watching.

And?

Convince you to help me.

What do you think will happen next?

I don't know.

But I do know,

I make one phone call,

you'll never see your wife again.

I think you should be more concerned about your wife

So you can shoot me,

but you'll also lose your wife.

Are you alright?

What do you want?

Give me the gun.

Where's your one?

Where is it?

Turn around.

Hands in front. Palms facing outwards.

What's in the syringe?

Saline solution, salt.

I'm suffering from terminal cancer. I know what saline is.

It really is saline.

Believe me.

We don't want to hurt you guys.

Then prove it.

Quick.

You're a pair of pussies.

I'm really amazed you've stayed alive this long.

Listen carefully.

There's a pharmacy ahead.

Go get her medication.

Get however much there is.

That type of medicine is usually locked up.

We don't have the key.

She has the key.

The key.

I'll do it.

You've got your job.

Quick, I'll keep an eye out for you.

Let's go.

Hurry up, let's go.

Faster.

In front.

Hold onto the medicine.

Give me the gun.

Open the door.

Put her in the car.

Huan!

Get in the car.

Get in.

Out.

Come here, XiaoYong.

XiaoYong, be quick.

Welcome to the John Henry Hospital.

Rule number one.

She lives, you live.

Rule number two.

This rule is a good one and easy to remember.

Anyone disagrees with me,

I kill you.

You two, in there.

Don't touch them!

Rule number two.

They will go in, don't push them!

I've found two doctors to look after you personally.

I feel so tired now.

It's the treatments.

They're hard on you, but they're making you better.

Are you in any pain?

I'll find you some painkillers.

Two of these pills and she'll feel a lot better later.

Who was that you killed?

Another one of you.

You should see your wife.

She didn't sound good.

ChangYing?

She called your name just now.

ChangYing?

ChangYing?

Quickly. Go and see her.

How is she?

Pretty bad.

These remedies are worse than the disease.

Yesterday, you said if she dies, we die.

Is that true?

What's going on?

I told you the other day that I have two choices.

That was also true.

I promise your wife won't suffer any pain.

What the heck are you playing at?

I need you to agree to help us.

I need some assurance from you.

You want some assurance from me?

Stop it.

Firstly...

you're going to put your differences apart and get into a nice little huddle.

Come on.

You I'll deal with later.

Where's the girl?

Come out, honey.

I know you're here.

Honey?

Come out, I know you're in here.

There she is.

I thought I'd seen you somewhere.

Then I remembered where.

You killed my father.

Yeah. Sorry.

This is just...

Give me the gun.

Go to see your wife, quickly.

She's running out of time.

I'm sorry.

The fixers will be here soon.

If you're going, go now.

Come with us.

You have no idea what you're up against.

But you do.

You're the only one who knows this game well.

Only you can beat it.

They took your family.

Don't you want them to pay?

Leave the blood.

Let's move on.

It looks like a fund-raising event.

You've no idea who they are or what sort of party it is.

Your leather shoes are too shiny.

Do you want everyone to find you?

Lu, get your husband to change his shoes,

otherwise...

I found this in the closet.

One of your ex-girlfriends'?

But you two don't really match.

Oh yeah?

You're not going to bring her, right?

I need a partner.

Are you ready?

Yeah.

Okay, this is your eyes and ears.

It's okay?

Yeah.

Are you insane?

Perfect.

Excuse me.

Can I help you?

Shit, we lost them.

Huan.

Since you've made it this far,

why don't you come in and join us?

Huan.

Were you expecting monsters?

Monster...

is inadequate.

I could never have imagined you'd use my pacemaker to kill.

Your father-in-law.

Actually, what we want the most

is the communication system in your pacemaker.

It will elevate our tracking capabilities immensely.

I want you to stop sending boxes.

Or what?

What are you going to do?

Release the footage from that device in your pocket?

You think you're the first to think of that one?

Your son...

XiaoLong, right?

Where is he now?

I hope he's safe.

If you dare hurt him, I'll kill you.

Then you better go and save him right away.

Kang! Pick up the phone!

Darn you!

Faster!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

Kang!

Kang!

What happened to you?

They...took XiaoYong.

XiaoYong!

Can you hear me?

Mom!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

Mom!

XiaoYong!

XiaoYong!

Damn it!
