Episode 33

15

-So, the reason you wanted to see me is to get away from other people?

16

-No, Ge that isn't it

17

- I think that you're different from other people

18

When you speak and do anything, there's no airs about you. There's no one following you too.

19

- Let me tell you, Da Yao will definitely like you.

20

- Da Yao?

21

- I just met a friend, and he's very talented

22

- He's probably busy right now, but I'll introduce you guys

23

- Is he a good cook?

24

- Not only does he cook well,

25

but out of all the people I know,

26

he's the smartest, most capable, and most talented

27

I need to thank the fact that we were captured together

28

Now that I think about it, I didn't have the opportunity to sleep with him

29

-You what?

30

- She's a lady, how could you sleep together?

31

- No, you misunderstood, the person I'm talking about is a boy -Oh

32

Biyi rolls, Yuzi braise.

33

-There's still a lot more dishes to come, please wait a bit

34

-Wait a sec

35

Just say that Brother Chunyu wants to try it when it's fresh.

36

-Ok

37

This is Biyi rolls,

38

this is Yuzi braise.

39

-Ge, what is it?

40

- Don't you think the names of these dishes are really weird?

41

- Let me tell you, these are all Da Yao Yao's names.

42

This person,

43

- Where is she? I want to meet her.

44

- I'm done here

45

- Da Yao Yao!

46

- What is it?

47

- He came again, he wants to see you.

48

He also said that he wants two servings of the Double Layered Steamed Red Beans custard.

49

- Two servings? Are there other people?

50

- Maybe his friends?

51

It must be General He Lian, right?

52

-No, that's not it -Then I don't want to meet him

53

It's not General He Lian. I heard that it's...

54

it seems like Master Jing called him Brother Chunyu.

55

Slow down. If you don't want to go, I will go.

56

- No

57

- I can go

58

Burnt up!

59

You are Li Yao?

60

(describing the characters that make up the name)

61

- Da Yao probably figured out what was going on

62

I can't stay here or she'll get mad

63

- Is this who you were talking about?

64

- Yes, of course!

65

There's no difference between fat, skinny, delicate and pretty, right?

66

- Yes yes yes

67

- Ok

68

- The dishes you make are very unique

69

- Can you tell me how you made them?

70

- This dish, uh

71

uh

72

- What's wrong?

73

- There's something stuck in my throat

74

- Stuck? Eat some rice first.

75

Please continue talking

76

-Ah, this dish...

77

is...

78

-What about this one? How did you make this?

79

-Oh, this one, in fact...

80

Uh....

81

-I don't feel good

82

It's weird

83

It really hurts.

84

-Be careful!

85

-Jiejie will you buy one?

86

-I don't need one, thanks.

87

-My home has people waiting for me

88

-Ok, fine

89

-Thank you, Jiejie

90

-For you

91

I want to write

92

[Make big bucks]

93

Ok, I'm done

94

-Remember

95

From today, your only goal is to earn a lot of money

96

-Jia Yao,

97

-You must be mistaken, that isn't me.

98

-Yao yao

99

-I don't know you

100

-Look at my face

101

You really don't recognize me?

102

-My name also has a Yao character

103

- Yao yao -Let go of me!

104

-I won't let go of you

105

-You must have had such a hard time

106

I know what you have to do,

107

but can you listen to what I'm saying?

108

-What do I have to listen to you say?

109

You said that you were a spy and you couldn't help it.

110

Or that everyone in Black Wind Fortress are bandits. They deserved to die.

111

That's not what I care about.

112

I care about Sangsang & Chengcheng's blood,

113

including Songqi's blood.

114

They died in front of me!

115

-Yao listen to me. - Don't you dare come over!

116

Your Highness Xia.

117

I'm sadder than anyone else and also, you about Brother's death. Yao Yao,

118

I already tried my best to save them

119

but sorry, I didn't do it.

120

As for you and me,

121

do you still remember our pact?

122

Just trust me again

123

for one more time. After everything has ended, I will take you to the real London,

124

Paris and Japan. If you want to cry, I will cry with you.

125

If you want to laugh, I will laugh with you too.

126

I don't know what London, Paris and Japan is like in this era and where they are.

127

No matter where they are,

128

wherever you want to go,

129

I will go with you.

130

I gave you the chance

131

but did you treasure it?

132

We have never really trusted each other.

133

We were always acting.

134

Sadly, I played seriously and acted seriously.

135

What about you?

136

You have always been clear-headed.

137

How could I have been clear-headed?

138

I tried to tell you many times, Yao Yao.

139

I'm a spy

140

but the name, Xia Chunyu, is real.

141

Yao Yao.

142

Frankly, I'm Jing'an's...

143

- What are you doing?

-

144

What about after that?

145

Why didn't you tell me later?

146

I thought it wasn't important anymore.

147

Your Highness Xia.

148

The play...

149

has already ended.

150

Those who watched the play, has already left.

151

It's already in the past.

152

It doesn't need to have an ending again.

153

Please don't follow me again.

154

Wait!

155

Your Highness Xia, is there still something else?

156

Since you already said that it's in the past

157

but let's start anew.

158

Miss, how are you?

159

I'm Xia Chunyu.

160

Xia Chunfeng is my father.

161

The current Madam Xia is not my biological mother.

162

I have a younger stepbrother. His name is Xia Chunfeng.

163

I have another name. It's Sir Fuyi.

164

Sir Xia, you are a noble.

165

You are out of my reach.

166

I also met a lady.

167

Her name is Yao Yao.

168

Through coincidence and fate, she became my wife.

169

I love her very much.

170

I believe that she loves me very much too.

171

She taught me a very strange phrase.

172

It's called "I love you".

173

We later separated because of a misunderstanding.

174

Whether it's the past, present or future,

175

I will only have her in my heart in this lifetime.

176

But that woman has already died in the blood bath at Black Wind Fortress.

177

The person who's standing in front of you now,

178

it's Li Yao.

179

She is also a totally new person.

180

Although she is alone in this world

181

but the main painful moment has already passed.

182

He can rely on his own ability...

183

and continue to live happily and in freedom.

184

I'm sorry.

185

I made you suffer.

186

I'm sorry.

187

I'm sorry.

188

Let go of me!

189

Xia Chunyu,

190

don't let me hate you.

191

Yao Yao!

192

In the past, you were insistent on liking me.

193

I will also never let go of you now!

194

Your Majesty, how's the taste?

195

Liuli personally made this for you.

196

In the harem, so many concubines and princess, but you are the most clever.

197

No wonder the Royal highness Princess consider you as her own daughter.

198

My emperor flatter me. Liuli will always remember my status.

199

I can serve the emperor and the Royal Highness Princess is Liuli's blessing. Liuli does not dare to slack off.

200

The Qianshi in the soup looks like it is different from what I normally eat.

201

The taste seems to be a lot better.

202

My Emperor, Qianshi that make a soup in this palace are dry.

203

And. these are fresh, come from Jiangnan, also called Jitoumi.

204

Qianshi is top grade, the fresh one is upper grade.

205

However...

206

However what?

207

However the Jitoumi is difficult to preserve.

208

Hence, His Highness Crown Prince personally rode his horse to Jiangnan.

209

And the outer shell of the Gorgon fruit is very hard. It's hard to open it.

210

If you're careless and rip open its outer skin, causing the inner juice to seep out, it won't be fresh anymore.

211

And these that you're eating were personally prepared by His Highness Crown Prince.

212

One jin of Gorgon fruit can yield only 2 liang of edible part.

213

Just for this little amount that you're eating, His Highness Crown Prince has hurt his hands.

214

How are his hands now?

215

Why don't Your Majesty personally ask him?

216

Little Liuli,

217

your motive is not really on this gorgon fruit.

218

Fine.

219

- Call him in.

- Thank you, Your Majesty.

220

Calling for Crown Prince to enter the palace hall!

221

Greetings, Royal Father.

222

Rise.

223

Thank you, Royal Father.

224

Mingxie, just to see me, you exerted much effort.

225

You even asked a favor from Princess Liuli.

226

Royal Father, you misunderstood.

227

I saw how Royal Father has been tiring yourself from governing state affairs

228

and I was worried that you'll get sick from it. I admit that I'm slow-witted.

229

I can only do some minor things to unburden you.

230

Saying these words

231

shows that you know your limitations.

232

Mingxie, rather than spending your time to nonsense like these,

233

why not care more about major state matters and the citizens?

234

Informing Royal Father,

235

my trip to Jiangnan was not only for these gorgon fruits,

236

I actually was able to investigate a major matter. Don't know...

237

...if I should say it or not.

238

Oh?

239

Looks like you came ready.

240

Royal Father, have you heard of the legend of Lord Fuyi?

241

I found out that Xia Chunyu is the Lord Fuyi that's being committing major crimes in different places.

242

Immediately submit it for me to see.

243

The tune of your flute is sweet but dreary. Are you missing someone?

244

A very good friend of mine.

245

But he got killed by someone.

246

Got killed?

247

Why then are you not seeking justice for him?

248

Because the person who caused his death is me...

249

...and you.

250

What?!

251

All these are in the past.

252

If not because I still miss him,

253

I will really want to be like you,

254

just completely forget about all these past.

255

Who is he?

256

- In this life, he is my—

- Surround it!

257

General He Lian.

258

Why did you bring so many people to trespass into my Xia Manor?

259

I was ordered by the Crown Prince to arrest the treacherous criminal, Xia Chunyu.

260

Treacherous criminal?

261

May I ask why I suddenly became a treacherous criminal?

262

I am just following orders. May Heir Apparent not make things difficult for me.

263

You're just a general. What right do you have to go to other people's manor and randomly arresting people?

264

What crime did Xia Chunyu do? Why don't you clearly explain it to everyone?

265

Your Highness Prince Yu,

266

do you still treat yourself as the past Prince Yu?

267

I don't know if I'm Prince Yu or not.

268

I only know that you can't take away my friend!

269

It's not up to you. Arrest him!

270

Chunyu.

271

Chunyu!

272

Be careful, Chunyu!

273

Attack!

274

Chunyu, your arm. Are you alright?

275

Looks like your target today isn't me,

276

but Mingyu, right?

277

You must know

278

that His Majesty personally promised me that he's letting Mingyu go.

279

But things change as time goes on. I think Heir Apparent shouldn't make unnecessary resistance anymore.

280

Have you forgotten about the grudge of Black Wind Fortress?

281

Why are you still defending him?

282

The person who annihilated Black Wind Fortress is you!

283

You are too naive.

284

All that was just an act that Zheng Mingyu and I played in front of you.

285

Why don't you think first that if I'm the real mastermind, how come the one rewarded is him and not me?!

286

All of you, listen!

287

Xia Chunyu and Zheng Mingyu disobeyed the royal decree.

288

- Kill them all!

- Yes!

289

Helian Xuan!

290

Despicable lowly person. Heir Apparent take His Highness and escape first.

291

Meng Yun!

292

You're asking for death!

293

Don't mind me! Quickly leave!

294

- Let's go!

- Meng Yun! Meng Yun!

295

This Xia Chunyu...

296

Royal Father, not only do I have these material evidences. I also have a witness.

297

A lot of people have seen Lord Fuyi. They all say that his looks is completely the same as Xia Chunyu.

298

Your Majesty, please forgive me.

299

It's my fault. I forgot that Liuli is still here.

300

It's not appropriate for a lady to hear bloody events like these. Leave first.

301

Yes, Your Majesty.

302

Continue saying.

303

Xia Chunyu went missing in Hainan.

304

That was only Fifth Brother's one-sided claim.

305

He disguised as Lord Fuyi and did chivalrous acts on the outside, but in reality, privately employed illegal punishments

306

to go against the government. For so many years, there were never any news about him.

307

But when Fifth Brother got demoted to a commoner, he returned to their Marquis Manor.

308

I can't help but guess that maybe Xia Chunyu is a pawn of Fifth Brother.

309

Hurry.

310

Did Marquis Jing'an enter the palace today?

311

Yes, he is currently in Chenfang Palace Hall with Princess Royal discussing the repair of the dykes.

312

Turn around.

313

[Chun...]

314

[is in trouble]

315

[Chunyu is in trouble]

316

Princess!

317

Quickly hand this to Marquis Jing'an. Quickly go.

318

Yes.

319

What eliminating the oppressors for the citizens, punishing the corrupt officials.

320

It might be just cultivating allies and eliminating enemies.

321

I feared that he might escape out of guilt,

322

so I've sent men beforehand to capture him.

323

You know how to prepare beforehand.

324

Hurry! Over there!

325

Chunyu, your injury is too grave.

326

Here.

327

Thank you.

328

Chunyu, just stay here first.

329

Where are you going?

330

- I'll go save Meng Yun.

- Are you crazy?

331

Although I don't understand who is Meng Yun, he must be my most loyal friend. I must save him.

332

Even if you pay with your life, you're willing?

333

I'm willing. I've lost my memories. This life has no meaning anymore.

334

But you and Meng Yun are friends that are sincere towards me.

335

I will not let you two get hurt.

336

- I'll go with you.

- Okay.

337

I'm sorry.

338

Informing Your Majesty, Marquis Jing'an is requesting an audience for an important matter.

339

This Marquis Jing'an came at the right time.

340

Royal Father, he must be here to beg for his son. You must not—

341

Your Majesty!

342

Your Majesty!

343

Your Majesty, just listen to my few words.

344

Marquis Jing'an, you dared to trespass into the Imperial Study and disturb His Majesty?!

345

Quickly drag him out!

346

Your Majesty, Lord Fuyi punishing people illegally is indeed unpardonable,

347

but I am using my head as guarantee that there must be another story behind this.

348

- Are you all still not dragging him out?!

- Wait.

349

This matter concerns our empire's fate. May I ask to talk with His Majesty privately.

350

How dare you!

351

- Royal Father.

- Enough.

352

Isn't it just a Xia Chunyu? Why are you two talking about this matter so seriously?

353

Okay then.

354

Tell me about it. If you're unable to make a reasonable stand, don't blame me for disregarding old friendship.

355

Royal Father.

356

Enough. You all leave first.

357

- Royal Father—

- Leave!

358

Yes.

359

- Take him away!

- Yes.

360

Helian Xuan, no matter what crime I committed, I'll leave with you.

361

Let him go first.

362

Too bad, it's too late.

363

Arrest him!

364

Stop!

365

Please read the decree.

366

[Marquis Jing'an Manor]

367

How is Mingyu and Meng Yun?

368

Meng Yun is more gravely injured, but he's out of danger.

369

Young Sir Zheng is also resting.

370

But your wound...

371

It's fine already.

372

Regarding today...

373

Thank you.

374

You also don't need to thank me.

375

What you should thank...

376

...is your mother.

377

Isn't that the congealed jade bead?

378

Why did you take that out?

379

This isn't an item of Great Master Jiren.

380

This is the love token of your mother and I.

381

Isn't my mother just a commoner that you abandoned?

382

Your mother isn't a commoner's daughter.

383

Your mother is the most doted little princess of Ximin Nation.

384

In the past, our empire was at war with Ximin.

385

I got conferred as General Jingyuan and set out towards the front line.

386

In one battle,

387

I got severely injured and fell off a cliff.

388

Hanning saved me.

389

But that time, I didn't know

390

that she is the enemy nation's princess that sneaked out of their palace.

391

Afterwards,

392

we fell in love.

393

By the time that she was already pregnant,

394

I represented the government and started a peace negotiation

395

with the main commander of Ximin Nation,

396

which is Hanning's older brother from a different mother.

397

I hoped that our marriage

398

can bring about the cessation of war.

399

Let the citizens of both nations

400

be able to have good days.

401

But on the day that you were born,

402

the pro-war faction of Ximin Nation

403

suddenly sent men to attack us.

404

General! Something bad happened to Madam!

405

Hanning!

406

Hanning! Hanning!

407

Who killed my mother?

408

An assassin sent by

409

the pro-war faction of Ximin Nation.

410

They blamed this matter to us.

411

It was also my fault for not being able to protect Hanning.

412

After she died, the peace negotiation between the two nations collapsed. This war...

413

...lasted for ten plus years.

414

Why didn't you tell me this beforehand?

415

Today, if not because His Majesty

416

suspected that you used the identity of Lord Fuyi to do chivalrous acts

417

as a pretense to another motive, I would have never

418

told anyone

419

that you have Ximin blood.

420

Chunyu, upon getting born, you went missing.

421

I initially thought that you're dead.

422

Until I found you in Enye Temple.

423

Whenever I see you, I will remember Hanning.

424

I hope that you stay safe and sound throughout your life.

425

Peacefully enjoy wealth, fame, glory, and splendor.

426

I don't want you to get involved in the complicated political situation

427

and be used by others.

428

But His Majesty now know about my true identity.

429

Yes, the reason he burned those evidences

430

right in front of me is because right now,

431

the Ximin government is having an internal strife.

432

An your uncle Gemu,

433

which is Hanning's older brother from the same mother,

434

is the favored heir to the royal throne of Ximin.

435

He is the leader of the pro-peace faction.

436

If he can successfully ascend to the throne,

437

His Majesty will then confer you the title Envoy Yunping

438

and send you to lead the peace negotiations with Gemu.

439

Chunyu,

440

what happens to you in the future,

441

will really depend on yourself.

442

But my purpose in returning this time

443

was just to save Mingyu's life.

444

Hence, our manor suffered this kind of trouble.

445

How come His Highness Crown Prince dug up all those past things?

446

On the outside, it was to eliminate you.

447

In reality, he's trying to eliminate Zheng Mingyu.

448

I know that you don't want to give Zheng Mingyu up.

449

But if you want to better protect him,

450

from now on, stop disregarding the political matters.

451

Marquis. Heir Apparent.

452

Marquis, Princess Liuli's personal maidservant, Xiao Ya,

453

is requesting to see Heir Apparent. She's been waiting in our manor for a long time.

454

Tell her that Heir Apparent will see her. Leave first.

455

Yes.

456

Chunyu, I was able to seek an audience with His Majesty today

457

all thanks to Princess Liuli secretly sending me a note about your trouble.

458

I know that you've liked her since you were little.

459

If she can become our Xia family's future daughter-in-law,

460

Don't say it anymore.

461

I know what to do.

462

All these are gifts given by Heir Apparent to thank you for saving him.

463

Is he brushing me off with just these gifts?

464

I saved his life.

465

How come he refuses to visit me?

466

Princess, calm down. Heir Apparent is currently hurt, so it's inconvenient for him to move around.

467

He got hurt? Where?

468
