=Episode 7=

Mr. Yu?

Are you Mr. Yu?

That's me.

I was originally going to see Huang Chao in Jizhou.

But on the way,

I heard Heroine Feng was at King Ma's castle.

So I hurried here to see

who this world's oddest woman as described by Huang Chao is.

The world's oddest woman?

Huang Chao sure likes to come up with monikers.

Still, what a coincidence.

I've been wanting to meet you, Mr. Yu.

I didn't expect we'd meet like this.

This circumstance

is all right.

This circumstance

- naturally... - Injured

but still talkative.

My mouth isn't injured.

Moreover,

the mouth is for talking

and eating.

There's no food.

So, I talk.

Mr. Yu...

There is.

What's this?

Open it.

You brought food!

I've sent people

to greet your master and other disciples.

They should be safe now.

How considerate of you.

Would you like to go with us, Mr. Yu?

Yes.

This way.

You should rest if you are injured.

Why are you out here?

I came to thank you.

Well,

forget it.

Wait.

Give me.

Don't you want to thank me?

I, Bai Fengxi, am alone and have nothing.

I'll just say thank you.

What do you want?

I should lower my expectations of you.

You're injured but cheerful.

The Soultaker Sect is weakened.

Why should I be sad?

Is that so?

Additionally,

I get to meet Mr. Yu,

the Finest Gentry.

I didn't expect to see

such an ethereal look in this world,

completely different from the Black Foxy.

You scheme against everyone

but he is considerate to everyone.

By the way,

I'll meet him on Mount Tianzhi tomorrow.

Did you ask him out?

Why?

Why should I tell you?

I'm tired.

I'll rest in my room.

(Why is Black Foxy acting weird today?)

Mr. Yu.

Greetings, Mr. Feng.

Please sit.

I'm surprised that you are interested in this.

Are you buying it for your sweetheart?

Mr. Feng, pardon me.

I'm alone.

I don't have a sweetheart.

This reminds me

of a friend I met recently.

Although this pearl flower is not a precious item,

it is simple and elegant.

A gift may be insignificant but the feeling is deep.

You know this friend

better than I do.

After all, you were as famous as her for the past decade.

Do you mean Bai Fengxi?

If it is her,

don't give this to her.

She'll definitely

trade it for wine.

Indeed, Hei-Bai Fengxi

are equally famous,

and also know each other well.

Although Miss Feng and I

met only for a brief moment,

it is obvious

that she is a carefree person.

She does whatever pleases her.

It seems that Mr. Yu

is her number-one confidant.

I don't deserve that.

Mr. Feng,

I must go to Mount Tianzhi.

Farewell.

Why can't Empyrean Yu Family live

as long as heaven?

Goodbye.

(Mount Tianzhi)

This song is elegant

and has an otherworldly beauty.

It makes me feel as if I'm on Biluo Mountain,

picking flowers for food,

drinking the spring water,

picking fruit, teasing celestial deer,

walking on floating clouds, and flirting with girls.

We are on Gaoshan Peak. [*Gaoshan means mountain.]

This is the Liushui Pavilion. [*Liushui means stream]

Only the stream understands

the sound of zither on the mountain.

What is the song's title?

It is untitled.

I played it impromptu,

based on how I feel now.

Based on how you feel?

That is not a common song.

Mr. Yu is indeed The Finest Gentry.

By the way,

thank you for the event

at King Ma's castle.

Miss Feng,

Huang Chao and I are good friends.

That event happened in Jizhou.

I must intervene.

I've informed

the Jizhou Defenders to protect the Ma family

and track down the Soultaker Sect.

Miss Feng,

why did you ask me

to come here?

Huang Chao said

that you are the first person he can't defeat,

and I'm only the second.

I

like to be second to none.

I am here today

to fight with you.

It looks like Mr. Feng is overthinking.

What does this have to do with Black Foxy?

How do you want to compete?

Your body...

I'm fine.

We are friends.

I won't do anything to you.

How about this?

♪Blades and bows drawn♪

♪What is youth without bravado?♪

We'll see who gets to the other bank first.

How about that?

I didn't expect

to get a tie.

This is the best outcome possible.

The golden sun shines from the clear blue sky.

When filling thy cup, be sure to fill it quite.

Strive not for frothy fame and bubble wealth.

A passing dream.

A flashing flint. A shadow's flight.

Standing on the highest peak,

you grasp the meaning of the world.

O what is knowledge, fine and super fine?

To innocent and simple joys resign.

When I go home, I'll carry on my back

a load of clouds, a zither,

a pot of wine.

The world

isn't as pleasurable as music and wine.

Yes.

To innocent

and simple joys resign.

Miss Feng,

I should go back.

See you.

Till we meet again.

(Pavilion of Noble Characters) Martial Sister,

your friend

sent someone to examine my father

and gave him some pills

that would help him recover.

That's good.

I examined my Master.

The toxin in his body is gone.

He will recover in a while.

Do not worry.

The world under the mountain is exciting.

There are so many awesome people.

No wonder you want to go down.

Oh,

why did you ask Mr. Yu out today?

Of course, I invited The Finest Gentry

to a competition.

Martial Sister, you are

awesome!

However, Mr. Yu is handsome.

Don't you have other ideas about him?

Langhua,

listen.

There are many handsome men

in this world

besides this one.

So, do you like someone else?

Is it Hei Fengxi?

You...

Nonsense!

What are you two doing?

(Pavilion of Noble Characters)

Master.

Do you feel better?

Much better.

The Soultaker Sect has been weakened.

The martial arts world is less chaotic.

Xi,

take your martial siblings back to the Tianshuang Sect first.

Father, aren't you going back?

I have an old friend nearby.

I will visit him.

Master, you haven't recovered yet...

I'm fine.

Along the way,

you must take good care of them.

You'll temporarily handle affairs of the sect.

Yes.

(Yongzhou)

Chief,

what does the edict

given at the court meeting

this morning by His Lordship mean?

Prince Chang joins the Ministry of Civil Service Affairs,

the Second, the Ministry of Works,

and the Third, the Ministry of Revenue, as advisers.

Isn't it obvious?

His Lordship will assess the three princes.

One is the eldest, one is from the first wife,

and another's mother is now the queen.

Therefore,

they will be judged on who is virtuous.

The Ministry of Works is a tough job.

Prince Ju's Ministry of Revenue

is a good place.

Does His Lordship value the Prince Ju more?

Heaven is about to place a great responsibility on a great man.

Should we...

Visit the Prince Lanxi's residence.

All right.

(Pavilion of Noble Characters)

Congratulations, Your Highness.

Vice Minister of Works, Official Liu

seems to be from your Feng Family.

Before dark tonight,

he will send the relevant files

to your residence.

Talking to smart people

saves me trouble.

Prince Ju chose the Ministry of Revenue,

thinking that his plan succeeded.

Unfortunately,

The Minister of Revenue, Baili, is his maternal uncle.

Even if he performs well,

he won't get the credit,

but if something goes wrong,

he will bring shame to the Baili Family.

I have people in the Ministries of Revenue and Civil Service Affairs.

Your Highness, if you want...

No.

That's too obvious.

On the contrary,

I would like Minister Feng

to help my elder brother when you can.

Is it because the late queen

raised Prince Chang for some time,

and Your Highness has brotherly love for him?

Mistakes are costly in the competition to be the heir of Lord.

When I was a child,

my elder brother took good care of me.

No matter how fierce the competition is,

he will always be my elder brother.

I only have to target

Feng Ju.

I congratulate Your Highness

on a great future in the Ministry of Works.

If I excel,

my father may not be pleased.

But don't worry.

You will be the first one to know about

future developments in the royal court.

Thank you for your trust in me.

(Yongzhou)

Your Highness! Your Highness!

It is finally here.

Get the vice ministers and directors. Follow me.

Yes.

(Lanxi, Lanxi,)

(do you know why I chose the Ministry of Revenue?)

(So what if you beat me in the autumn hunt?)

(This time, it's my turn.)

The earthwork measurements

have basically been done.

Lastly,

we mainly should

improve this vertical column.

Your Highness!

Prince Ju rushed in with his officials

to audit us by the lord's order.

What? Auditing?

Ju will not come for no reason.

Minister Zheng,

is there an accounting discrepancy

in our ministry?

(Minister of Works of Yongzhou, Zheng Kui) The account...

If you don't talk and it is revealed to my father,

I can't protect you.

Your Highness, save me!

A hailstorm last year

damaged our Xuncheng city wall construction.

For fear of punishment,

I

had to

appropriate 500,000 silver leaves.

I thought we'd pay it back in these two months.

I didn't expect...

Which money?

Money for the royal mausoleum after the lord's passing.

Today, Prince Ju

will audit the Ministry of Works.

Unlock these.

Do you hear me? Open the locks!

Stop.

Lanxi, you're here.

You are well.

How dare you

trespass into our restricted area?

Feng Ju,

do you respect me?

Lanxi, I won't dare trespass into the Ministry of Works.

Yesterday, I went to the palace

and Father said that

the ledgers of the three provinces and six ministries

have inconsistencies lately.

He asked me to check.

Don't get angry.

The ministries' accounts

are always audited on year-ends.

You can check

if you have Father's handwritten order.

Otherwise,

I'll kill without mercy.

Lanxi, you are sickly.

Don't resort to fighting all the time.

These are royal court officials.

If you kill them,

the censorates and supervising secretary might report you.

Moreover...

Isn't Father's oral instruction a decree also?

Disobeying a decree is a heinous crime.

Keep checking.

I'll be responsible for any trouble caused.

Check! Come!

Keep checking!

Open them.

Are you disobeying the lord's order?

Lanxi,

where is the silver in the warehouse?

Your Highness, we found it.

On the 15th, 500,000 silver leaves were withdrawn.

How do you explain this expenditure?

This...

How dare you?

Our father ordered you to supervise the Ministry of Works.

Is that how you do it?

He only ordered us to assist the six ministries.

Besides, I have only been here for ten days.

What do I know?

It seems that someone is denying all responsibilities.

Minister Zheng,

you followed the wrong person.

Lanxi,

embezzling silver for the royal mausoleum is a grave sin.

Without your permission,

the officials here

won't dare do anything

even if you kill them.

No wonder you made all kinds of excuses

to prevent us from auditing.

Follow me to the palace

and report this to Father.

Did the ministry misappropriate the silver?

Lanxi,

we have ironclad proof. Don't argue.

Ju, you made a lot of guesses.

I don't get it.

Why did you suddenly affix my crime?

This...

(Dadong Banknote)

Father's silver for the royal mausoleum

(Dadong Banknote) is kept nicely here.

How can there be misappropriations?

That...

What's the explanation for the expenditure?

There are many silver leaves.

We convert them into silver notes for safekeeping.

However, some villains with wild ambitions

capitalized on this to frame us.

Minister Zheng,

did Ju say

that my father orally instructed him to audit us?

Yes or no?

Yes, we heard it with our own ears.

Good.

Zhong Li, bring my seal to the palace.

Ask the Eunuch Director of Brush-Writing to check the residence note

to see if my father gave an oral instruction yesterday.

Yes.

Wait.

Lanxi,

I must have made a mistake.

This is a misunderstanding.

Misunderstanding.

Misunderstanding?

The misunderstanding is punishable by beheading.

Do you want our lives?

I don't think I need the residence note.

I'll visit His Lordship at the palace.

I will thoroughly clean

this pot of dirty water that is poured

on the ministry.

Your Highness,

should we go together?

Please, Minister Zheng.

This...

Your Highness, thank you for the foresight.

You saved the ministry from a disaster.

Don't be polite, Official Zheng.

I helped you to help myself.

Why does Your Highness carry

silver notes in this amount with you?

I'm an idiot.

Your eyes are like burning torches

and you have foresight.

Prince Ju was arrogant and reckless.

He faked the lord's order

and affixed a crime.

He is malicious

and guilty.

If this continues,

the country will be in peril.

Rascal!

This kid

got into such big trouble

but is still hiding.

Xi,

you oversee the ministry by proxy

and are also a victim.

In your opinion,

how should Feng Ju be punished?

He is young

and makes mistakes.

It is inevitable.

I think

that a small punishment is enough.

However, Minister of Revenue Baili

can't be let off lightly.

First,

he heads the ministry

but connives with officials

to fight with another ministry. This is a dereliction of duty.

Second,

he is Ju's maternal uncle.

He would have known

that embezzling the silver for mausoleum is a serious crime.

He let the rumor

get into Ju's ears.

Does he have an ulterior motive?

Father,

Ju and I are blood relatives,

but one is the son of the first queen

and the other, the son of the second queen.

What is Minister Baili's motive

for alienating us?

What Prince Lanxi said is very true.

Your Lordship,

Minister Baili should be severely punished for dereliction of duty.

I second.

I second.

I second.

Relay my decree.

Minister of Revenue Baili Heng

is incompetent, lets rumors spread,

and is reckless.

He is demoted three grades

to the governor of Jiangzhou.

Feng Ju had oversight and made false remarks.

He'll leave the ministry,

reflect on what he did

and be fined 5,000 pieces of silver.

How is that?

I respectfully accept

Father's wise judgment.

What I did today

is to consolidate your territory forever.

I have no other intention.

Father,

the Lianjiang river is swollen.

Father, with your permission, let me bring the directors

of the ministry to Decheng to survey

the dyke repair work.

Xi,

you worry about national affairs on my behalf.

That is a great kindness.

Go.

Yes, Father.

The Prince Lanxi made a good move.

Yes.

Seeing that His Lordship intended to protect Prince Ju,

he let him go lightly

and turned around to target the maternal uncle Baili.

The reflection and demotion

will severely weaken

the queen's faction.

Not only that,

do you remember what he said just now?

He said he is the legitimate son of the first queen

and Prince Ju is the son of the second queen.

The distinction in status

is clear.

He capitalized on his position as the first queen's eldest son.

That's why Prince Lanxi asked to go to Decheng.

Think about it.

If he stays in the capital,

and ministers at the court meeting

tomorrow morning learn that Prince Ju was demoted,

surely someone will suggest

naming Prince Lanxi as the heir of Lord.

However, he himself has gone to Decheng.

How can they confer that title?

Prince Lanxi is sick all the time.

He has just recovered

but shows such shrewdness.

The climate in the royal court

might change.

Is he sick all the time

or keeping a low profile?

This...

We don't know.

(Feng Ju's Residence, Yongzhou)

Darn Feng Lanxi!

He got me again!

I think

Vice Minister Liu visited his residence.

He already knew.

Obviously, Prince Lanxi is suppressing you.

That was why he hatched that plan.

Your Highness,

this is the crime of treason.

He's going to kill you.

Fortunately, His Lordship loves you.

Otherwise...

I won't rest

until I avenge this.

Your Highness,

thankfully Vice Minister Liu

informed you, and you were prepared.

Prince Ju

shot himself in the foot and might not

resign to it.

He might take action.

That's his business.

Forget this issue.

We have a flood emergency.

Let's handle it first.

Yes.

Why didn't you tell me that you're targeting Feng Ju?

You should let me see

his wretched look.

When did I target him?

He made things difficult for me.

There are no outsiders here.

You don't have to lie to me.

Had he not targeted me,

would he get into trouble?

(Lianjiang, Yongzhou)

Martial Sister,

are you still nauseous after so long?

Didn't you travel the waterways before?

I did,

but Lianjiang has three feet waves on windless days.

Martial Sister, come and smell this.

What's this?

Oil from lamp roasted tangerine peel.

Good for nausea.

Jiurong, you know how to please her.

We vomited two days ago.

Why didn't you take it out?

You just know...

Master went out

and handed the Tianshuang Sect to Martial Sister.

Maybe later

he'll make her Sect Leader.

Don't say that again.

Martial Sister, what do you want to eat?

I can cook.

Anything.

All right.

(Yong)

(Yong)

A hundred li downstream from here,

Lianjiang River flows into a steep gorge

with narrow passageways.

Therefore,

any storm upstream will whip up

strong winds and huge waves here.

Vice Minister Liu, thank you for harnessing the river these years.

Your Highness came here in person without fear of danger.

I admire you.

If this goes on,

the storm will intensify soon.

Your Highness,

let's turn back.

Lower the sails.

Your Highness.

Are you all right?

I'm fine.

Someone is down there!

Archers!

Archers, quick!

Hurry!

Check the bilge!

Yes!

Move!

Your Highness!

Bad news!

The cabin is flooded!

Move it up!

Men, come with me!

All right.

Come quickly! Come quickly!

What's the hurry to get me out of the capital to relax?

What happened?

What?

How is he now?

We just received reliable information

that Prince Lanxi is missing.

It's stormy there.

I am afraid...

Are you crazy?

How could you act on your own?

Since the Ministry of Revenue's debacle,

you have been unhappy.

A lord's worry is a servant's humiliation.

Therefore, I...

I...

No matter how hard we fight,

I never thought of taking his life.

He is my second brother and related by blood.

Your Highness,

to vie for supremacy,

you cannot show a woman's kindness.

You!

I know

it is treason to murder the royal family.

I acted on my own responsibility.

I hope Your Highness will make the country prosperous

so that my loyalty is not wasted.

Enough!

Stand up.

Stand up!

Stand up.

Stand up.

Wake up quickly.

Wake up!

What are you looking at?

Yes. Yes.

Quickly.

Ren Chuanyu.

- Your Highness. - Wake up.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Official Liu,

where's His Highness?

Did you rescue him?

We didn't find him.

Save him quickly.

He is afraid of water.

His Highness is afraid of water!

Calm down, your lordship.

Decheng has mobilized all troops to search for His Highness.

Heaven blesses the good man.

Enough!

Who did this?

Minister Wang sent people to investigate this morning.

What about Feng Ju?

The servants said

that Prince Ju has been in his residence.

Relay my decree.

Find Xi at all costs.

Yes.

Go if you want.

Don't intervene.

Are you angry

about what Jiurong did for me today?

No.

It's written on your face.

I saved Jiurong

and he is nice to me

because he is grateful.

Don't you like him because of

what he is?

Who said I like him?

No.

Do you know why we don't journey overland?

Traveling by land to Tianshuang Sect is faster

but we chose to go by water.

You have the say.

No one knows what you think.

Jiurong begged me to do that.

He told me

that you hadn't gotten out for so long

and wanted you to see more and stay longer.

Do you think I've lost my mind

and chosen such a torturing path?

Did he say that?

Would I lie?

Go ahead and give him the clothes

whether he likes them or not.

You'll find out that way.

Moreover,

people in the martial arts world like us should act cool.

Right?

There's someone.

Someone is in the river. Save him!

There's no time. Jiurong, get a rope!

Yes.

Martial Sister, be careful!

Martial Sister!

(The Black Foxy should fall into the water.)

(An accident must have happened.)

Drowning in the cold water will damage his lungs and veins.

Don't leave me,

Mother.

Martial Sister, here's the medicine.

Help him up.

Quick.

You must take the medicine.

Black Foxy.

Martial Sister, be gentler.

He is not well.

I was anxious.
