Legend has it that there was a clan of hermits

called Qian Clan.

Their disciples were so smart that they could

do anything from stabilizing the country

to protecting the people.

But things always turn around when they go too far.

The Qian Clan eventually enraged the emperor

for disturbing the social order.

One sect upheld martial arts and vowed to

fight against the court to the end.

It was named Lingyuan.

The other sect went into business

and stayed away from the court.

It was named Yuntai.

Yuntai and Lingyuan were of the same origin.

[Yuntai]

[Lingyuan]

[Yuntai Lingyuan]

They fought for the following hundred years.

Sir,

We just wanted to plunder the passers-by,

tell your men to take away the weapons.

[Yun Xiang, Yuntai Sect]

We just want money, not your lives.

The pirates cause trouble all year round.

But they are

not all foreigners.

What do you mean?

First, the court banned sea activities.

Many fishermen lost their livelihoods,

so, they gathered together to rob people.

Second, many soldiers

pretended to be pirates

and stole the money in their own trust.

Just like you two.

I...

How did you know who we are?

You've made such a big scene.

There are dozens of people,

all holding the official swords.

[Official sword]

Be careful next time.

Even swords are not the key.

It's the official boots.

[Official boots]

We can't keep him alive anymore.

Tell our men to do it.

Haven't you thought if you see through us,

you're bound to be dead?

On the salt farm in Baiju Town, officials collude with the bandits.

They expel the other outlaws and rob and kill the salt merchants.

I'm afraid you two

never intended to let me live.

To be honest,

we never left anyone alive.

Something is wrong.

Something is wrong?

When a man is dying,

normally, he would've wet his pants by now.

But look, his hands are not even trembling.

Who on earth are you?

Those who know my identity couldn't live.

But I haven't decided

whether to kill you.

Close the cage.

Go out and check.

You poisoned us?

Not me. It was it.

Outside are all my people.

You can't escape

even if you had wings.

As long as you take the antidote,

you won't die.

There's more over here.

Yun Xiang.

Thank you for dealing with these scumbags for us.

All I did was talk.

You may look weak,

but you united

so many groups of people all by yourself.

I really admire you.

Thank you for your help.

Now most of the official bandits

have been wiped out.

Next,

I want to meet the mastermind behind it.

What?

Are you going to deal with Yan Luowang?

He's a real wolf.

Shall we go with you?

Thank you for your kindness.

I'll take full responsibility for my personal matter.

How can you

deal with him alone?

Humans don't

have claws and teeth of tigers or wolves,

nor the power of lions or elephants,

but they can catch the wolves, subdue the tigers,

tame the lions, and hunt the elephants.

How?

Only...

by our wisdom.

[The Ingenious One]

[Episode 1: The Young Master Came Down the Mountain.]

[Yuntai]

[Yuntai Mountain]

Goodbye, Seniors. I'm leaving.

Yun Xiang.

You've been cultivating for 15 years. Now that you're leaving,

when are you planning to come back?

I don't know yet.

It's fine if you don't know that.

But remember,

disciples of Yuntai

enter the secular world and go after fame

for the people in the world.

Yuntai's principles are that

we should care about the world

and help the people.

But the people of Yuntai also belong to the world.

Once I settle the past deeds,

I will surely follow the way of Yuntai.

The rich merchant in Nandu, Wen Cong,

bullied fellow merchants and dominated and disrupted the market.

Now the evidence is solid.

His property will be confiscated,

and he'll immediately be sent to the salt farm in Baiju Town to do corvee labor.

[Baiju Town]

Yan Luowang uses his official position for personal gain.

He pretends to be a bandit to rob the passing salt merchants,

and killed many of my brothers in the name of suppressing bandits.

[Hongyun Casino]

Place your bets.

On the fourth day of last month,

a prisoner was brought here.

He's over 60 years old.

Do you remember him?

What's his name?

Wen Cong.

You mean that cripple?

Cripple?

Where is he locked up?

The prison on the salt farm.

Who sent him here?

Yan Luowang.

[Yan Luowang, Mining Supervisor of the salt farm in Baiju Town]

If you keep shaking it,

the dice will be shattered by you.

Two, three, four.

Three fives. Leopard.

Get lost!

Who else dares to come up?

Me.

[Shu Yanan]

You've already won 12 times in a row.

Do you dare to make a big bet with me?

Do you know who I am?

The mining supervisor of the salt farm in Baiju Town,

Yan Luowang, Lord Yan.

You are knowledgeable.

Girl,

you shouldn't be here.

You might lose yourself.

This is my stake.

That is a valuable item.

It's not common stuff.

I have a friend

locked up in the prison of the salt farm.

If I win,

Lord Yan, please release him.

Releasing a prisoner without permission

is a crime of capital punishment.

Everyone knows that you are in charge

of everything in Baiju Town.

No.

I've always been fair and just.

Releasing him

is out of the question.

But I can let you meet him.

What do you think?

Think carefully.

This...

is already a great favor from me.

Deal.

OK.

You go first.

How is it?

We can play again if you don't like it.

You cheated!

I already told you,

Don't get yourself involved.

Not bad.

Catch her!

Yes.

Get her!

Move over!

Hurry! Go after her!

Stop!

Stop!

Stop!

Stop!

Stop!

Go after her!

[Chai’s Pharmacy]

Dr Chai.

Can I pay for the medicine a few days later?

[Dr. Chai, Yuntai Sect]

100 pence. No credit.

It's on me.

Take the medicine and leave.

Thank you, sir. Thank you.

Doctor,

I'd like to ask for a folk prescription for heatstroke.

It is still early spring,

and you're asking for a prescription for heatstroke?

An extra king will make the country a mess;

while spare stuff makes us prepared.

I'll feel more secure keeping some medicine at hand.

You're lucky.

I happen to have this medicine ready at hand.

Please come with me.

I haven't had guests for a long time. It's a bit shabby here.

Please.

It's okay.

You've been based in Baiju Town

for more than ten years, right?

I was wondering what brought you here.

Have you heard of a fellow disciple

imprisoned on the salt farm in Baiju Town?

Who?

Senior Wen who's in charge of Nandu.

Wen Cong?

I was negligent.

I didn't know about it.

You never see any prisoners out

of the dark prison on the salt farm.

Besides, it's said that the mining supervisor is extremely violent.

The title of the King of Hell is not unfounded.

King of Hell?

He's just a fool and a reckless man.

You can't say that.

They have a batch of soldiers.

I've killed most of them.

Then what did you

look for Wen for?

Nothing else.

I just want to ask you

if there are other disciples of our clan

in Baiju Town?

I've been alone here

for over ten years.

Hurry up.

Don't slack off.

Hurry up.

Hurry up.

Coming.

Hurry up.

[Yan Mansion]

Load the wagon quickly.

[Yan Mansion]

Keep looking for her today.

Even if that girl is a ghost,

I don't believe she can disappear.

Yes.

I will keep an eye out.

My lord.

Who is it?

Yan Luowang colluded with the Water Gang

to kidnap and rob the salt merchants.

The government didn't even

notice such a big incident.

His official account book was meticulous.

That means there must be another secret account.

I guess the secret account

is hidden in Yan Luowang's house.

Step aside.

Don't you know whose carriage this is?

Get down.

Do you know who's in the carriage?

[Ding Yi, Water Gang]

It's only been a few days. Why are you here again?

It's not peaceful lately.

Master asked me to help you.

Master asked me to remind you

the government's been stricter and stricter on checking illegal salt.

Don't act rashly.

You want to make money and be safe.

Is there such a good thing in the world?

Open the door!

Where did he go?

Yan Luowang is back.

Let's go.

Did you follow me?

Cut the crap and follow me.

I can't leave before I finish my task.

Come on.

Hurry up.

Have a seat, Mr. Ding.

Is there anything wrong with the salt farm lately?

No.

Show me the secret account.

Your accounts are getting fewer every month.

The salt merchants are also getting shrewder.

They often move in scores or hundreds.

Even if we want to rob them,

how can we do it?

You slaughtered the caravan at will.

You've gone too far.

How can salt merchants not unite?

Blood is on my hands,

while you, Master Qi, live a relaxing life.

Watch your mouth.

If it weren't for the Water Gang,

Lord Yan wouldn't be able to be so carefree.

Where is the official account?

I'll put away the secret account.

Do keep it safe.

This is for you to check.

Okay, I'll take my leave.

Let me see you off.

Since you bring me here,

just say what you want.

What are you looking at?

You've been following me.

Shouldn't I ask you first?

If it weren't for me,

you would have been killed by Yan Luowang.

Look at the sunset.

What some people see is

"The sunset and the lone duck fly together,

and the autumn water reflects the same color as the sky."

But what some other people see is the setting sun with the color of blood.

Who is your friend in the dark prison?

I was so close to you on the beam.

I smelled the perfume of

plum blossom in your sachet.

After so many years,

Mr. Wen still likes this kind of perfume.

You know my godfather?

Are you also from Yuntai?

Yes, or no.

Are you or are you not?

He saved my life.

I heard he's become a cripple in prison.

It's not easy to save him.

But Miss,

if you cooperate with me,

I can be 100% sure.

What? You don't trust me?

Or do you have a better choice?

You don't know any martial arts.

How can you join hands with me?

As long as I'm smart, it's enough.

If you go down this post road for 20 miles,

there is a dock.

Beside the dock are buried

the official bandits under Yan Luowang.

I killed them all.

You're boasting.

You just used others to kill them.

I witnessed the battle at the riverside.

If I wasn't sure that you and Yan Luowang were rivals,

why would I have helped you?

I see.

You risked your life to steal the secret account.

What's the use of it?

If you trust me,

do as I say.

My name is Shu Yanan.

Tell me your name too.

Yun Xiang.

Take the account

to Yangzhou.

Do everything according to our plan.

What about you?

I'm going to meet Wen Cong.

Sir, please come in.

[Hongyun Casino]

Lord Yan is having bad luck tonight.

Boy,

why do your dots always outnumber mine by one?

One more is enough to win.

You were here last night, right?

You have a good memory, Lord Yan.

But I haven't seen you before.

Are you a spy sent by the pirates?

Why? Do I look like a pirate?

Pretty boy,

how about we change the rule of the game?

How do you want to bet?

Let's bet who has a smaller number of dots,

on all the money you have.

Such a big stake!

My lord,

I don't have that much money.

It doesn't matter.

As long as you win,

you can take this ingot of gold.

But I have a condition.

I'll go first.

What do you think?

Okay.

Are you sure?

If we're even, the one who goes first wins.

Okay.

You have some guts.

Three. That is the smallest.

There's no smaller number.

He's lost for sure.

Wait!

My lord,

you're not leaving room for me.

Cut the crap.

Take the money.

Yes.

Wait.

I haven't shaken the dice yet.

Shake then.

I want to see

what you will get.

Right?

Yes.

You're playing tricks.

I'm done.

Really?

How is that possible?

Lord Yan, I won.

Wait.

Are you going back on your words?

Going back on my words?

Everyone knows

I'm the most reasonable man in Baiju Town.

Am I right?

Yes.

It's just that your method is not very smart.

It's against the rules.

Yes.

How about this, Lord Yan?

let's make another bet.

Still, you go first.

You're sensible enough.

How about this, Lord Yan?

To show fairness,

I want to use your dice.

I also want to ask this young man beside you

to shake them for me.

Shake them well.

Open.

Three ones too?

If we draw, the one who goes first wins.

Take the money.

Wait.

Mercury.

You...

Boy!

You tampered with them.

Lord Yan, you cheated but slander me instead?

Although we're in Baiju Town,

we have to play fair.

Yes.

I quit.

Catch him!

Take him back.

Why are you arresting me?

Is there justice?

Behave yourself.

Let's go.

Justice?

I am justice.

[Yan Mansion]

Come here. Go.

What are you looking at?

Go.

Come.

Get in.

Yan Luowang.

You took my money and arrested me for hard labor.

You've planned it so well.

What? Do you refuse to obey?

In my territory,

no one can take my money

and leave safely.

Listen carefully.

Without my order,

you can't die.

I'll let you rot in here

little by little.

Yes.
