a 72% voter turnout

which is exceptionally high
for an off-year election.

There is a real
air of excitement

as the last statewide poll
showed him leading

by a margin of 8%.

the vote" campaign

and some northern counties

have kept the totals low
there so far

with only 25% reporting
in San Francisco

and Alameda counties.

The Orange County vote

looks to be
exceptionally high

with over 50% of
registered voters

having cast
their ballots so far.
