All language subtitles for 06-Keyword Research

Let's do our Amazon keyword research just
like you would do Google Keyword

research. And some of the phrases would be exactly

the same as you would find on Amazon, as
people are searching on Google as well.

But here's some of the ways that we can
start with our Amazon keyword research.

Start typing in a phrase, for example, I
mentioned a few moments ago that you

wouldn't just use weight loss because
that's too general, too competitive.

But if you start typing weight loss into
Amazon's search, look at the auto

suggest. What does Amazon suggest to you?

So type weight loss, hit a space, see
what comes up hmm those are some

potential search phrases.

Because what Amazon's trying to do is

they're trying to help you do the exact
same searches other people have done that

cause them to buy products.

Remember, Google wants people to find

information. Amazon wants people to buy stuff.

So they're going to show you auto suggest
keywords that will help you buy

something. And you can do the same trick that people

do on Google all the time, which is type
in weight loss, put a space, start typing

A and see what comes up.

Then Type B and see what comes up.

See what's showing up on this.

Make sure to write down the keyword

phrases that you find using Amazon's auto
suggest.

Then, once you've written down a series
of keyword phrases, you're going to

determine whether these keywords are
worth your time.

And you're going to do that by making
sure you're searching inside the Kindle

store. You search for these phrases.

Look at the books that come up in the top
organic positions.

Ignore the sponsored ads.

To look at the the ones that actually say

sponsored on them, look at the organic
listings, click on some of these listings

and see what is the book's sales rank.

Lower sales ranks are better and you'll

also often see in the sales ranks where
they rank in specific categories.

Obviously, again, the number one seller
in a specific category is selling much

better than the number twenty seller in
that specific category.

So lower numbers are better when we're
searching for this.

So we want a keyword phrase.

That Amazon Auto suggests to us that has

books in the top position that are
selling well.

And then the third factor is we want to
make sure that the keywords aren't too

competitive. So this this requires a little bit of

extra research or knowing your audience
well anyway.

And that is, do the books in the top
positions on this keyword phrases, do

they have big audiences?
In other words, do all of the authors are

they're all TV celebrities?
Yeah, that's something that's going to be

really tough to compete against.

If they're all TV celebrities, do they

have massive YouTube channels with a
million followers on them?

Again, really tough to compete against.

So I'm looking for people who are ranking

well on Amazon primarily, who have, you
know, a smaller platform, but they're

driving a lot of sales from the Amazon
search engine itself.

Let me show you how we're going to use
the auto suggest feature.

So we'll go over to Amazon where I'm in
Chrome, so I'm going to open a new

Incognito window, then I'm going to go to
Amazon.com

with it right?
So I'm in the general Amazon I'm going to

choose over here and I would like to look
in the Kindle store.

So I'm going to start typing in keyword
phrase.

Let's start with weight loss.

All right.

And you'll notice here's the auto suggest
weight loss, motivation weight loss books

weight loss for women over 50 HM.

Motivation books.

That's still too general weight loss for
women over 50.

Maybe that would be specific enough.

We've got weight loss hypnosis cookbook.

Let's start typing in hypnosis and notice
again we have four women.

We have audio here for it.

Let's actually go back and I'll show you

the little trick.

I said try a OK, we type in a we see

weight loss after 50, weight loss after
40, weight loss and femininity weight

loss in hypnosis again.

Now let's type B books.

Weight loss boss let's type C weight loss
coaching weight loss cookbook for women.

To be specific, weight loss devotionals
for women.

What about weight loss energy for women?
Whatever you type in weight loss energy,

there's also weight loss energy D OK F OK
weight loss for dummies.

Weight loss fiction.

Weight loss for food lovers.

You see, I'm finding additional phrases
just by going through the alphabet like

that. Let's choose the.

Playweight loss for women over 50 and
let's do a search on it.

Surprise, surprise.

Look at what came up in the sponsor.

This is a sponsored listing, so this is
an ad, so we're going to ignore this one.

What does this tell us?
This tells us that Glenn is advertising

his never binge again book on weight loss
for women over 50.

Or it could be on weight loss for women
is a phrase match.

So he's either exact matching weight loss
for women over 50 or maybe he's phrase

matching weight loss for women.

But let's Scroll down.

So this is sponsored.

This is sponsored.

We're going to ignore these.

We've got intermittent fasting for women

over 50.
The new step by step guy to lose weight

without hunger pains.

The best way to enjoy intermittent

fasting with over 100 delicious recipes

Pretty good title, decent number of

No, it's a different author.

Same basic concept wow they both are

So we can see there's a lot here.

So they're hitting women over 50.

See, they mentioned it in the description
as well.

Let's Scroll down and see what their
sales listing are.

Look, other books that people, products
are related to this.

So this means these are ads that people

are paying to be here and there's never
bench again.

Ok, but let's Scroll down and let's see
what its rank is.

It's 88,000 thousand in the overall
Kindle store.

I'm going to show you in a in a few
minutes.

I'm going to show you how you can
actually check this and have a decent

estimate of how many books they're
selling by with this number.

You can actually copy this number and
stick it into a calculator and it'll tell

you. We also see that they're number four in

oral health, which seems kind of weird.

They're number four in acupuncture and

acupressure. I thought this was about intermittent

fasting and 31 in acupuncture.

That just doesn't seem right, like

they're in the wrong categories.

Let's go back and let's look at the next

one now.

stores are very similar to the last 1,

Short reads.

This is a short read.

Also, low carb, cooking number thirty
nine, not all that bad.

I'd want to go check the number and check
to see how many books they're selling.

This is a phrase that isn't going to be
too competitive that you could possibly

go after.
It looks like everybody kind of has the

same idea here.

We can see it.

So there a shorter book.

Where is the listing?

It's 98 pages, so you can see they come
in under 100 pages, so they're in the

short reads section.

So that's how you're doing your search on

Amazon and you're looking for the
different phrases on the Kindle store.

So let's continue on.

keyword research because it can help you
find keywords.

It'll tell you how many searchers are
likely for that phrase.

It'll tell you what the competition is on
that phrase.

So I heavily recommend you check out the
publisher rocket to help you find

keywords to build on what we just talked
about here.

Other ways that you can search for
keyword research you can use, like the

Google Keyword Planner if you have a
Google Adwords account, because a lot of

the keyword phrases are going to be very
similar to what people search on Google.

There's some differences between Amazon
and Google searches can you can tell that

if you go over and use Google's you know,
free auto suggest searching.

By searching on Google, you'll see that
some of them are a little different

because people are looking for free
information on Google.

They're looking to buy a product on
Amazon.

So there's differences, but there's a lot
of similarities between them.

So you can use their free tool also to
help you with keywords.

Then once you've found the main keyword
phrases that you want to go after, we're

going to try to build that.

Especially into your subtitles.
