An Omura's whale.

They're one of the rarest whales on Earth.
We've been trying to find one for years.

One of our Octo-recorders in the South
Pacific picked up these sounds last night.

So today, Shellington and I are going
to look for the whale that made them.

I'd love to get a picture of it.

in the whole ocean is erupting at once.

of the Ring of Fire.

The Ring of Fire?

The Ring of Fire is a group of volcanoes

that stretches
all around the Pacific Ocean.

Some of the volcanoes are underwater,
and some are above it.

How many volcanoes
are we talking about, Professor?

Approximately 452.

-Four hundred and fifty-two?
-Uh-huh.

What we're seeing now is a chain reaction.

That's when a big eruption
on one part of the Ring of Fire

causes eruptions, tremors,
and tsunami waves all around the Pacific.

I'm afraid this is only the beginning.

More eruptions are on the way,
and they could be even bigger.

Even bigger?

Captain, what about the rest of the crew?
We have to warn them.

Calling all Octonauts.
This is an emergency.

This is the biggest disaster
the Octonauts have ever faced,

and we'll all have to face it on our own.

until we've dealt with
all these volcanoes.

The chinstrap penguins live
right on top of a volcano.

First up, whirlpools.

Whirlpools can really take you for a spin.

What you need to remember is…

Next, all about algae blooms.

Too much algae
can make for a really slimy situation…

And finally, lava rescues.

Lava rescues.

When dealing with lava, first construct
a barrier, if you can, to stop the flow.

Barrier.

Then, search the area for creatures
or plants that might be in danger.

Remember,
they may be frightened and confused,

so they'll be looking to you
for leadership and courage.

Most of the eruptions are dying down,
but there's still one more on the way,

and it's going to be big!

I'm seeing it here too.

Looks like a big old undersea volcano
off the coast of Japan.

The biggest I've ever seen!

That volcano must be home
to all kinds of sea creatures.

We have to rescue them before it erupts.

going to get there in time?

It'll take days to fix the repair station
and dig out all the GUPs.
