[Episode 9]

[Taoyuan Province]

It's good. Come, come!

There's no wine at all.

It looks like we won't be able to smell any of it within 10 li (5km).

General, it's straight ahead there.

[Ruyi Gambling House]

I want small! Small!

Interesting...

Are you two going to play?

You go and get the wine, I'll play for a bit.

General, there's not much money left. Don't play too big!

You must be tired, I'll hold this for you.

Come inside, please.

Please.

I want to buy wine.

- Opening. - Get a good look!

Sorry, sorry, brothers.

Place your bets and remove your hands!

Come, come.

Playing two rounds.

All right.

Place your bets.

Come, come.

Is Young Master and Aunt Ru here?

Who?

I'm Quanxian's former Infantry Battalion Commander, Ting.

A few days ago I received the sound pearl stating that

the Young Master is going to return from Tianque.

So I thought he would come to Taoyuan Province first.

I haven't heard of this news, 200 zhu (2 taels).

Boss, a bottle of wine.

Okay.

Here.

How much? 200 zhu.

Quick!

Hang in there a bit longer,

just a bit longer.

Stop!

- Have you seen this person? - No.

Go on then.

Hey, there was a sound over there.

Let's go have a look.

Come on back. It's just a feral cat, nothing to look at.

Let's have a look over there.

You're awake!

Come on.

Just a while longer.

Stop!

Don't arrest me! Don't arrest me!

Don't arrest me!

- Don't arrest me, don't arrest me, don't arrest me! - Na Sheng.

Don't arrest me, don't arrest me, don't arrest me!

If you don't want to die, then don't mess around here all day.

Brother Ice Cube.

Place your bets and remove your hands!

- Quickly. - Come, come.

Come, come.

You lost.

No money left, right?

I won today and I'm happy.

I'll lend you some,

but I can't lend you money for nothing.

I want her as collateral. I'll lend you 50,000 zhu (500 taels).

However, before lending you the money, shouldn't I test the goods first?

So, let's take off her clothes first

and show everyone whether she's worth the price or not.

Undress! Undress!

If you don't have the money, go play outside!

- Undress, undress! - Forget it, forget it!

Obey.

Let this older man see your beautiful legs.

Show us. What are you waiting for? Undress now.

My... My eyes!

Just you wait!

Keep my money safe! Move aside!

Anyone else wants to see her legs?

Ting is not for sale,

because she's not a commodity.

[Ruyi Gambling House]

Where's my sword? Where is it? Hurry and give it to me.

It's not with me.

It's here.

Mortgage this. 100,000.

Are we doing this or not?

No way. Just with this?

- What is it? Is it really 100,000? - What is it?

Su Mo?

What is he doing here?

General Xi Jing, it's been a long time.

It's indeed you.

Stop!

Young Master. General Xi Jing.

There are many people here. It's not appropriate to fight here.

General, let's change the location.

Why didn't you fight back?

Feeling guilty?

For what you did to A'Ying a hundred years ago,

I should've killed you just now!

Even if you want to kill me, Bai Ying should do it personally.

You even dare mention her name!

If it weren't for you, A'Ying wouldn't have...

Whatever I owe Bai Ying, I'll naturally pay her back.

I won't trouble you with this. I still have a life I need to save right now.

General, please don't push me too hard.

Fine.

I'll wait for you, find a place where there's no one around.

We'll battle again.

All right.

Su—

Young Master.

It's been a long time.

Turns out, you're the Emperor of the Sea.

You're finally back.

How is Yan Xi?

Don't worry.

I won't let anything happen to him.

Emperor of the Sea?

Sorry, General.

Actually, this gambling house belongs to the Quanxian.

I'm here to look for Aunt Ru,

because she told us that

the Emperor of the Sea of Quanxian had returned to Yunhuang.

I never would've imagined that he was the Emperor of the Sea.

I didn't mean to hide this on purpose.

Actually, when you received the sound pearl,

I knew that something was up with you.

Go back to what you were doing. I'll drink here.

Thank you, General.

It hurts.

Young Master.

Yan Xi, he...

He should be fine, but he'll need time to rest.

Young Master.

Young Master, what spells did you learn?

How did you heal the injuries on Yan Xi's body that quickly?

Will this harm you?

I'm fine.

What exactly did you experience over the past hundred years?

There's a very lethal poison in Yan Xi's wound.

If the snow poppy hadn't been sustaining him,

I fear he wouldn't have been able to hang on this long.

Snow poppy?

How did Yan Xi find the snow poppy?

Na Sheng?

It's fine here.

Aunt Ru, keep watch outside.

I want to rest for a bit.

Yes, Young Master.

There are so many people. Where to look?

Where did Brother Ice Cube take Yan Xi?

Na Sheng!

- Sister Bai Ying! - What are you doing here by yourself?

I need to find Su Mo, that big ice cube. He took someone away with him.

[Ruyi Gambling House]

- I'm looking for someone! - Who?

An injured merperson.

There's no wounded person here or merpeople here either.

How is that possible? You're lying to me. Aren't you both, too?

Moreover, I haven't seen any other merpeople in Taoyuan Province.

Su Mo must be inside!

There's no Su Mo here. Or a wounded person. Scram.

You!

This is a gambling house. We're here to gamble.

Give way.

It's indeed Yunhuang.

There are so many rooms in this gambling house!

But that person, Brother Ice Cube, where is he?

Sister Bai Ying, I'm going over there to check.

I'll go over there then.

Hey, Miss!

Senior Brother?

Senior Brother.

Senior Brother!

It's me, A'Ying.

A'Ying?

A'Ying.

You're not...

A hundred years ago, in order to open Wuse City,

our six princes lost their lives at Jiuyi Mountain.

You probably heard about this, right?

Actually, we've always been in Wuse City.

No one knows about this.

Junior Sister,

I've wronged you.

When Master entrusted you to me that year,

I failed in my duty.

I should have realized earlier

that fellow harbored evil intentions.

Senior Brother, don't say that.

Everything was decreed by fate.

Ye City fell a hundred years ago. Sister Yun Mo, she...

These hundred years, you've suffered too.

You've followed him for a hundred years. Why not go back to Quanxian Camp

and take over your older sister Xiao's position?

Older sister? Do you have news about her?

She went to assassinate General Yu Huan of Cangliu,

but was captured by them. I fear she's already...

How is this possible? Older sister...

This indeed only undid the seal on the right hand. It's still not powerful enough.

Your Highness.

Hong Yuan, you're here at just the right time.

This is the sunlight protection cloak that I created with a condensed spell.

However, because I haven't regained my magic power,

so it's only effective for four hours.

But I think it can support you enough for a return to Wuse City.

- Thank you, Your Highness. - By the way, once this gem flashes,

it means its effectiveness in protecting you from the sunlight is gradually weakening.

The faster it flashes, the magic power is weakening that much faster.

You must be extra careful when you use this.

All right.

Your Highness, why is there

a snow cherry blossom

on this white sunlight protection cloak?

I don't have one on mine.

It... Th-There's no difference between them.

The effectiveness is the same.

There's no difference?

Doesn't A'Ying like snow cherry blossoms?

I randomly put one on there for her. It was just at random.

Seems like we're able to obtain this sunlight protection cloak,

all thanks to A'Ying.

So bold. You even dare make fun of my royal self.

I know my mistake. Your Highness, please don't be angry.

A'Ying's been gone for a long time.

I wonder if she's found Na Sheng yet.

[Taoyuan Province]

Who are you?

General Yu Huan of Cangliu. Relay my order. Open the city gate!

Open the city gate!

[Taoyuan Province]

[Taoyuan Province]

If you find a merperson in blue clothing and a young lady in Central Plains clothing, report it to me immediately.

Yes!

- Have you seen this person before? - No.

The formation is so huge, those people should have left by now.

General Yu Huan, they're also here to capture Quanxian's Commissioner of the Left?

Their mission is different from ours.

But we must be one step ahead of him and complete our mission first.

Let's go and capture those people.

It's so late in the evening...

There's a gambling house in this city operated by the merpeople. Let's start searching from there first.

Yes.

Let's go.

General, this person said he saw the two people in the drawing.

When did he see them? Where are they now?

I dare not say. I fear they'll retaliate against me in the future.

- Take him away and kill him. - I'll talk! I'll talk!

Today on the street,

I saw a young lady from the Central Plains

and a merperson in blue clothes.

They were ferocious. They stole my money and beat me up.

Yes, yes, that's them. I'd recognize them even if they were burned to ashes!

[Ruyi Gambling House]

You would never touch a drop of alcohol in the past, but now...

Don't talk about me anymore.

I thought you two would never be together again.

His Highness and I eventually didn't get married either.

We're not husband and wife. We're currently just a ruler and his subject.

His Highness often tells me... that it would be good if you were still here.

Whether it's fighting or bickering, you've always been the best opponent.

Not anymore.

I'm already old and have drank too much.

My hands are starting to shake too. No.

Bai Ying, how did you get here?

I came with Na Sheng.

She is the one that the Heavenly Ring chose.

She's the one who undid the Crown Prince's first seal.

But right now, Cangliu people are after her, trying to kill her.

So I hope Senior Brother can protect her.

So that she can successfully undo the other seals.

Because we, the Six Princes of Kongsang, can't walk in the sunlight anymore.

Why can't you walk in the sunlight?

This is the price we paid to open Wuse City.

So, Senior Brother, we need you.

A'Ying, are you entrusting me with this as my junior sister,

or as Princess Bai of Kongsang?

To tell you truthfully, for the past hundred years,

I've seen it all.

What country and home,

what world, these heavy things,

I don't want to think about them anymore.

Senior Brother, don't tell me you've forgotten

how you defended Ye City and resisted Cangliu?

Of course, I haven't forgotten.

So many people died in front of me at the Battle of Liejing.

Every time I close my eyes, I can see it.

You hadn't seen all that, so you wouldn't feel afraid,

I just really don't want to go to war anymore.

I don't want to see all of that again.

So now... you just want to drink?

All I can do is drink.

What? If I don't drink,

will those who've died come back to life again?

Everything can start over again?

I...

can defend Kongsang then?

Senior Brother, I understand everything you've said.

But apart from us,

who else can take on this responsibility?

If because of fear, because of past failures, not one of us does it,

then the one hundred thousand Kongsang citizens in deep sleep in Wuse City,

what will happen to them?!

Anyone can deny the responsibility,

anyone can just watch,

every one of us can say those words, but you can't!

Because you're my senior brother,

you're the person I've admired since I was a child.

You don't know at all,

what price we, Six Princes, paid to open Wuse City!

But you?

You've been in this state for one hundred years already!

It's time to wake up!

Princess Bai Ying.

You came just at the right time,

get me some more wine.

Hurry, go on.

Sister! Sister, you're not busy now, right?

This place is so big, I can't find Su Mo.

Can you help me find him?

You're here to find Su Mo?

He's Quanxian's Emperor of the Sea now.

Did I say something I shouldn't have?

It has nothing to do with you.

After I help you find Su Mo, can you leave with me?

Oh, okay. Then, Sister, let's go to the second level to have a look.

Sister Bai Ying.

Sister Bai Ying.

I think there's someone in there.

Let's go.

Who's trespassing?

Sorry to disturb you, Madam,

we're here to find someone.

This is a gambling house.

I fear the person you're looking for is likely not here.

You are... Aunt Ru?

I'm the boss here.

It's written on the big signboard out there.

Other than for gambling and drinking,

the rest aren't welcome here.

We're here to find Su Mo, that person who's cold like an ice cube.

I don't know the person you're looking for. Please leave.

Aunt Ru, a hundred years ago,

we once met at Xinghan Paradise. Do you still remember?

A hundred years ago? Who would still remember?

Take care. I won't see you out.

It's fine if you don't remember me,

but you should remember Su Mo. May I ask where he is?

Let me say it again. I don't know the person you're looking for.

Su Mo, I know you're here!

Sister Bai Ying!

What happened to you?

At the bottom of Tianque,

you said it was better for us not to meet again.

But why did you come to find me?

Does your crown prince...

know about this?

Yan Xi was wounded and told me to bring him here,

but halfway here he was rescued by Su Mo. Is he here?

No.

How is that possible? Su Mo took Yan Xi,

If Su Mo is here, then Yan Xi is, too!

Why are you lying to me?

It's Cangliu people!

Did you lead them here?

Cangliu people? Why would I lead them here?

Everything was fine, why would Cangliu bring so many soldiers over?

Maybe they're here to capture Yan Xi?

What's your name?

I'm Na Sheng.

Miss Na Sheng, can you help me?

What kind of help?

Help me get this pearl out of the city.

I... I don't want to go.

There are so many people outside, what if they're here for me?

Didn't you say they're here for Yan Xi?

So, Yan Xi is here!

Help me get this information out,

otherwise Yan Xi's life will be in danger!

Rest assured, they're not here for you.

You can secretly leave from the back door, no one will notice.

- But... - Don't you want to see Yan Xi again?

Yes, of course!

All right.

Then put this pearl in the river outside the city,

then we'll be saved.

Remember, you must be quick. If Yan Xi is discovered,

he'll lose his life!

Then I'll come back after I drop the pearl in. You must let me see Yan Xi!

Okay.

Everyone, come and gather.

Those from this region, over there. Those from other regions,

over here.

Stop there!

Have you seen this person before?

- No, no. - Look carefully.

I really haven't.

Surround the place.

Greetings, General.

So you're here as well.

Then this place...

isn't that simple.

General, since you're worried,

why don't you go take a look?

So many military officials are here at my small gambling house.

Excuse me for not coming out to welcome you.

What is this black energy?

What have you done?

Are you concerned about me?

Su Mo,

why are you acting so strange?

Strange? How am I being strange?

Su Mo, I didn't do it on purpose.

On Snow Mountain, you said what happened a hundred years ago was just my obsession,

not my true emotions.

But how could you know?

Every night, when I dream, I dream of you.

Bai Ying, for how long do you want to torment me exactly?!

Su Mo.

Remember to forget.

Su Mo, what's wrong with you?

Hurry and leave!

General, we didn't find anyone suspicious.

I heard that your gambling house's business is doing really well.

I'm just making a living, that's all.

If you two generals would like to play a few rounds,

- I'll have someone attend to you immediately. - No need.

I'm under orders to capture a criminal.

Just cooperate.

I wonder... who the general is trying to capture.

Someone said that a girl from the Central Plains came here.

Taoyuan Province is at the foot of Tianque Mountain.

My wines here are renowned as well.

There are indeed many caravans from the Central Plains

who come here to drink and gamble at the same time.

This Central Plains person came with a merperson.

She's also wearing a ring on her hand.

The caravans from Central Plains who patronized this place are all wealthy.

Everyone wears a ring.

If that's all you have to say, then I really don't know.

How about you sit down for a drink?

I'll send someone to inquire about it?

There may be many rings out there,

but faces are different. Right?

Take a careful look at these two faces.

Have you seen them before?

General, I indeed

haven't met these two before.

There are many people who enter and leave this small gambling house of mine.

However, these two...

Harboring criminals

is punishable by death.

General! Take a look at my gambling house, who could I possibly hide?

You truly know how to make jokes.

- I don't like smiling as much as you do. - Why waste so much time talking?

If they're here, we'll know as soon as we do a search.

When was it your turn to give commands?

- I just want to remind you General— - No need.

Just guard the first floor. As for the rest of the people,

- have them leave immediately. - Yes, General Yu Huan.

If you don't believe me,

then feel free to search.

Such confidence.

There were no sounds of footsteps just now,

but you appeared at the staircase.

You probably have many hidden rooms and tunnels here,

I wonder how many I can find.

Su Mo.

Why haven't you left yet?!

You're the one who asked me to forget.

But I think of you all the time!

I transformed for you.

Do you know?

In this lifetime, I cannot possibly love another person.

Yet what about you?

In merely a hundred years, you've forgotten about me.

How did you do it?

Forgotten just like that?

♫ I bid farewell, not to go far away ♫

Didn't you survive?

Why didn't you come to find me?

Su Mo, let go of me.

I won't let go! Why should I?

If I let you go, you'll leave me.

If I let go,

you'll leave me to be all alone.

Do you know?

The moment you jumped off the pagoda,

I wholeheartedly wanted to jump off with you.

Bai Ying...

what must I do

to have your heart?

♫ I'm not willing to waste this time alone ♫

Let go.

I won't.

- Let go! - I won't!

♫ I quietly listen to the story starting at the beginning ♫

♫ Why must deep love be greedy and long for such words? ♫

♫ Unforgettable longing is like wind and the snow is like cherry blossoms ♫

♫ It seems that your footsteps are light ♫

♫ In my dream is you ♫

♫ Awake from my dreams, I wait for you ♫

♫ In my heart, you're the center of my small world ♫

♫ I'm not willing to waste this time alone ♫

Su Mo, what sort of spell are you training in?

Why does it have such strong resonance?

♫ In my heart, you're the center of my small world ♫

This is your room.

I want to see exactly how many hidden rooms and passages

you have here.
