[Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities]

[Episode 10]

General Yu Huan!

General Yu Huan,

Taoyuan Province's Governor, Gao Shunzhao... [Gao Shunzhao - Cangliu - Taoyuan Province's Governor]

greets General Yu Huan.

What is it?

General, we've already caught the suspects.

They're in prison right now.

What suspects?

Some Central Plains people.

- Central Plains people? - Yes.

There are also some merpeople with them.

They seem to have some sort of conspiracy going on.

Lead the way.

[Ruyi Gambling House]

I respectfully bid farewell to General Yu Huan.

Please, this way.

No one's allowed to go in or out,

kill whoever violates the order.

Yes!

What about Nan Zhao?

Vice General Nan Zhou is already on his way to the prison.

When fighting for merit, he runs faster than anyone else.

The merit naturally belongs to General.

General, please.

When you're asleep,

it's just like back then.

I really wish time would stop at this moment.

I wouldn't have to be concerned about anything else.

I can just quietly watch you this way.

Princess Bai Ying.

How is Young Master?

I'm not sure, either.

But it's suppressed now.

Aunt Ru, I want to ask you a few questions.

Aunt Ru, do you know what kind of magic power Su Mo is practicing?

I don't know.

I only know that the power he's practicing

can heal wounds quickly.

If he continues to use this power, he'll suffer from backlash.

It'll be such enormous pain, one that most people cannot withstand.

No wonder Young Master said before even though his Emperor of the Sea power hadn't awakened,

but he still had a great power to take our Quanxian tribe back to the Biluo Sea.

He's never forgiven himself this entire time.

Princess Bai Ying, I beg you.

You must save Young Master. Only you can save him.

To you, Young Master has always been...

Aunt Ru,

it's been 100 years since that happened.

There are some things that

need not be spoken of again.

Between you and Young Master, no matter what, the threads of fate cannot be cut.

If I'm destined to bear some of these things,

then let me bear them.

I just finished infusing magic power into him.

He's stabilized for now.

Aunt Ru, take good care of him.

None of these are them.

They are all regular people.

Then, General, what do we do with these people?

- Drag all of them out and kill them. - No, no.

That isn't necessary, is it?

Governor Gao, remember this.

All these people died because of you.

Continue to guard the Ruyi Gambling House.

Without my order, no one is allowed to enter or exit.

General, the gambling house is a business.

- If you don't allow people to enter and exit, you— - If those people aren't captured,

forget Ruyi Gambling House,

all of Taoyuan Province's people won't find any peace.

General, you mustn't do that!

- I— - Then hurry up and capture them.

Yes.

[Ruyi Gambling House]

Where's Na Sheng? That girl from the Central Plains.

The girl from the Central Plains? Oh.

She seems to have left already.

A'Ying.

Your Highness, why are you here?

Don't worry about me.

- Are you all right? - I'm fine.

Na Sheng is missing. Let's go find Na Sheng.

You're the most important.

I'm fine. I'm only slightly weak because I touched sunlight for a moment.

I just need a little rest.

Listen to me. You go rest first.

I'll go find Na Sheng myself in a while.

Young Master, you're awake.

How does your body feel?

I'm fine.

Yan Xi isn't awake yet,

but he shouldn't be in any serious danger.

Just now, Cangliu's General Yu Huan came to search the gambling house.

I had Na Sheng send a message through the sound pearl to Gao Shunzhao.

Thankfully he rushed here just in time

and sent away Cangliu's soldiers.

What's the situation now?

Yu Huan has already left,

but there are still soldiers guarding the entrance.

For now, it's safer not to leave the gambling house.

Gao Shunzhao should be able to deal with it.

Yu Huan.

Right now,

he's the fiercest one among Cangliu's younger generation.

I heard that his swordplay is incomparable.

Master Peng single-handedly groomed him.

He's 20-some years old, and already a general.

I fought with him back at Tianque Mountain.

He is quite good.

I didn't expect him to find us all the way here.

Young Master, you should recover first, and then we can plan the next steps.

Princess Bai Ying hasn't left the Gambling House yet.

I shouldn't have let you come here alone.

How are you doing?

Thank you, Your Highness, I'm fine now.

Your Highness, I saw my senior brother.

You saw Xi Jing? Where is he?

He's here at the gambling house.

Take me to him. We should enlist his help in searching for Na Sheng.

Senior Brother doesn't want to be involved with Kongsang anymore.

Moreover, he drank too much and is resting.

Why?

Is he still mad at me for banishing him? Or...

He's likely tired of the endless fighting over the last hundred years.

Moreover, I couldn't persuade him.

Perhaps, you can, Your Highness.

I can give it a try.

Don't worry, I'll make sure he picks up

the responsibilities a general should bear.

There's no way out for him.

By the way, I have something for you.

This is...

I made this cloak for you, it has magic to block the sunlight.

With this, your spiritual consciousness will dissipate a little slower.

Here, try it on.

It's such an important item. Your Highness, you should wear this instead.

- I can handle it. - Hey.

This one is yours. Everyone has one.

Your Highness, you've only just woken up. You should have it.

Listen to me. I'm fine.

At the moment, it's more important to look after you. Here, have a seat.

Young Master, who's that?

The Crown Prince of Kongsang.

Why is he here?

There are still troops outside. What if they find out?

How about I find a way to send them away.

Since he's already here,

it'll only attract attention if we try to send them away.

Aunt Ru, please find a place for them to rest.

Escort them away when the Cangliu troops are gone.

Yes.

Don't worry. Let me handle everything.

What I mean is, you should stay focused.

Don't fall asleep like last time again.

Once we find Na Sheng, we can go back to Wuse City.

Aunt Ru, do you know where Na Sheng went?

She went out to take care of something for me.

Take care of something? When did she leave?

She left a while ago, before the Cangliu troops arrived.

- Let's go look for her. - Don't panic.

The Heavenly Ring can protect her.

The most important thing right now is for you to regain your strength.

- Right now— - I'm fine. I'm worried about her.

There are Cangliu soldiers guarding the door to the gambling house.

If you try to leave now, you might cause a riot.

It's best that you wait.

- I'll go. - I'll go with you.

Aunt Ru, don't worry, we won't cause any trouble for you.

If that's the case, there are fewer soldiers at the back door.

Please be careful.

Thank you. Let's go.

It seems that the Cangliu troops have already retreated.

They've been patrolling all night. They must have withdrawn.

Let's go find Na Sheng.

Freeze. General has commanded that no one can leave from here.

[Cangliu, Military Camp]

General, I'll now head back with some men to Taoyuan Province to investigate some more.

From now on, you're dismissed from the vice general position.

You're to stay at the camp. I'll take care of you when I'm back.

- Why? - Because I'm the only one who can give commands here.

Pass down my orders. I'm leading the Wind Falcons to capture those who came over Tianque Mountain.

Yes.

Why do you need the Wind Falcons just to catch a couple of people?

Using so much manpower.

Let's see what you are going to say if you still can't catch them. Arrogant bastard.

Vice General, General has said that you aren't allowed to leave the camp.

What power do you have over me?

I'm going to Master Peng. Do you think I really can't go anywhere just because Yu Huan said so?

[Cangliu Military Camp - Wind Falcon Storehouse]

The Cangliu people obtained the Wind Falcons from an ancient god.

We harvested Quanxian's weak but accurate magic power to pilot the giant bird.

On the bird, we installed giant crossbows, arrows, and oil-water mechanisms.

Let's see where Su Mo can run to.

How are you feeling? Can you keep going?

I'm fine, General.

I've already mastered the skills of piloting a Wind Falcon.

You've already done very well.

It's just that piloting the Wind Falcon drains your power.

It demands strength, agility,

and an even stronger willpower.

I will train properly.

The armband is a mark of your identity.

Yes, sir. I owe you my life.

I'll repay you with my life.

I don't need your life. I only need your loyalty.

We are going on an expedition to Taoyuan Province with the Wind Falcons.

This is our first assignment together.

I'll do my best to make sure the assignment is a success.

Su Mo.

You're the one who saved me. You're back.

Yan Xi, it's been a century.

Aunt Ru said that the Emperor of the Sea had returned. Did she mean you?

I'm here to bring everyone back to the Biluo Sea.

- Yan Xi, the Commissioner of the Left— - Hey.

You're still recovering from your injuries. Hurry, sit down.

Young Master, how have you been in the past century?

I'm doing well.

By the way, have you seen the Central Plains girl who brought me here?

A Central Plains girl? You mean Na Sheng?

That's her. Is she okay?

He's still recovering. I should spare him any worries.

She's quite safe. You don't need to worry about her.

That's good then. That's good then.

Who injured you?

Xiao and I were assigned to assassinate Yu Huan in Banbu City.

We failed our mission. I thought Xiao had died.

However, Xiao contacted me and asked to meet up at Jing City; she had a new plan.

But when I saw her,

I was ambushed by Cangliu soldiers.

Xiao seems to have been under their control and attacked me.

Xiao?

I heard that some Cangliu have the power to control minds.

Xiao must be under their control.

Who would've known that the Cangliu could learn the art of mind control?

Cangliu has enslaved our people with mind control techniques.

They're fully under the control of the Cangliu's spell.

Their methods are even more cruel than Prince Qing's a century ago.

Don't worry.

This kind of life won't last much longer.

[Ruyi Gambling House]

That one in red clothing, stand right there!

Over there. Let's go.

Stop! Stop!

- Don't run! - Stop! Don't run!

- You there! Stop! - Stop!

Brother Crown Prince, what do we do now?

Return to the gambling house first.

[Ruyi Gambling House]

Your Highness the Crown Prince!

Where is Aunt Ru? I want to see Aunt Ru.

- I must see Yan Xi. - This little girl again?

I'm not a little girl!

Na Sheng, go find Aunt Ru.

His Highness and Senior Brother haven't seen each other for years.

They must have a lot to talk about.

I won't disturb you two, either.

- Aunt Ru, you're indeed here. - Miss Na Sheng.

Why are you only getting back now?

This whole time I've been evading the Cangliu soldiers and almost got caught.

Luckily, I ran into Sister Bai Ying and Brother Crown Prince.

Oh, right! Where is Yan Xi? You said you'd let me see him.

All right. Follow me.

Aunt Ru.

The sound pearl has delivered some news.

Wait a moment.

What's the news?

It came from our spy in Cangliu's main camp.

Yu Huan is secretly carrying military weapons on their way to Taoyuan Province?

Why?

Rumor is to capture those who passed through Tianque Mountain,

but we have confirmed intel that says

their more important mission is to find the Heavenly Ring.

This could be related to Young Master.

Notify all the unit camps to be careful about staying hidden and be ready for battle.

Yes.

Aunt Ru. Aunt Ru.

You said you'd let me see Yan Xi after I helped you.

Miss Na Sheng, I have something important to do right now.

Please wait for me a little while to see Yan Xi.

- Take good care of Miss Na Sheng. Watch her well. - Yes.

No, wait. Why... We agreed I could see Yan Xi.

- Miss. - Let go! Aunt Ru!

Aunt Ru, you said I could see Yan Xi!

Young Master.

Thank you, Aunt Ru, for taking care of me.

Yan Xi, you're awake. Hurry, sit down.

Rest a little more.

Young Master, a spy just sent news

saying that Cangliu people are presently rushing towards Taoyuan Province bringing a new kind of powerful weapon,

to capture those who crossed Tianque and the holder of the Heavenly Ring.

We were warned to exercise extra caution.

What kind of military weapon?

Was it our own people who passed on the news?

Yes.

They say this weapon can carry people and fly in the sky,

and even shoot arrows.

Cangliu people are indeed not to be underestimated.

Notify everyone in the Taoyuan Province to return to Quanxian Camp.

Gather everyone in the gambling house.

We shouldn't stay in this place much longer.

Tell the one who sent news from the Cangliu camp to be extra cautious.

Yes.

This news came so suddenly.

This secret weapon has never appeared before.

If it weren't for the search and pursuit this time,

it probably wouldn't have been revealed yet.

Young Master.

Other than us in the gambling house,

only Bai Ying, Zhen Lan, and Na Sheng are left.

- And now? - Tell them the news.

Let them leave as soon as possible.

Na Sheng is right outside the secret chamber.

I haven't seen Princess Bai Ying yet.

But Zhen Lan and Xi Jing are both here.

It shouldn't be difficult for them to leave.

Na Sheng is outside?

But she doesn't have any magic powers.

If she really were to encounter Cangliu's new weapon, she wouldn't be able to resist it.

But it's not necessarily safe to stay here either.

She saved my life.

I can't put her in danger.

It's not good to leave or stay right now.

If we leave, we'll likely encounter Cangliu's soldiers.

If we stay, Cangliu's people will probably barge in.

They won't believe us.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have left guards at the entrance.

Young Master, you decide then.

No matter what, I owe Na Sheng for her benevolence. She saved my life.

Whether we go or stay, I won't abandon her.

Yan Xi, you're strangers that met by chance,

you can't take such a great risk for her.

She's the one who risked great danger in order to save me first.

We, Quanxian people, have always repaid kindness.

Find a unit to escort them out of here first.

No need to find anyone. Let me do it.

No.

You haven't fully recovered from a severe injury. Don't force it.

Na Sheng is right outside.

Why don't you go see her?

Both of you can take your leave first.

Yes.

What are you looking at?

We haven't seen each other for 100 years.

General Xi Jing, you've changed a lot.

I'd originally thought

I'd meet you again soon.

Who would've expected it would take such a long time.

I thought you didn't want to see me again,

and that's why you exiled me.

You were the one who took me to Kongsang 100 years ago.

You were my only friend in Kongsang.

When I exiled you that day, I was hoping

that I could reunite with you again someday.

A lot of time has passed.

But, luckily, we've run into each other again.

Do you know? If we hadn't run into each other,

I was planning to go everywhere in Yunhuang to find you.

Why are you looking for me?

I'm not General Xi Jing anymore.

In my eyes, you're my General Xi Jing.

You can't run away from it.

Back then, how you took me to Kongsang,

today I will repay you twice over.

Yan Xi! Yan Xi,

how are you? Is your injury better now?

It's much better. Thank you for your concern.

How about you?

Me? I'm fine. I'm doing well.

It's good that you're all right. Oh yes, do you live here?

Is this the only place where I can find you? Are you going anywhere else?

Na Sheng, listen to me.

I don't live here. You must leave right away.

Are you kicking me out?

Right now? Why?

In order to capture you, the Cangliu people are turning Taoyuan Province upside down.

It's not safe for you to stay here.

You already said that the Cangliu people are turning Taoyuan Province upside down,

wouldn't it be even more dangerous for me to go outside right now?

The Cangliu people are heading towards Taoyuan Province with a new kind of weapon.

Before they arrive, perhaps you will have a chance to escape safely.

Aren't Princess Bai Ying and Crown Prince Zhen Lan also here?

They can protect you.

I'll take you to them.

Can you at least accompany me to see Sister Bai Ying?

General, here.

Where's Na Sheng?

Na Sheng.

What's wrong?

They're kicking us out.

Please don't misunderstand.

The Cangliu's soldiers are rushing this way with a new weapon.

There's talk that this weapon is very powerful.

Everyone, you should hurry and leave before they arrive.

What kind of weapon is it?

We're not sure yet.

But no matter what,

with our current strength, we cannot fight against the Cangliu people.

Everyone, it's best that you leave now.

What about you all?

Princess Bai Ying, please rest assured.

We'll also quickly leave with our people.

Okay. We'll leave first then.

Thank you for taking the trouble these past few days.

Are we really leaving?

Young Master said to send some warriors to protect you.

Thank you for your kindness.

We have a great general to protect us.

Great General, thank you.

Aunt Ru, I...

Be careful on the road.

- I'll walk everyone out then. - Okay.

Please.

[Ruyi Gambling House]

Wait.

Why isn't there a single person on the streets?

It is a bit strange. Let's go back.

Go.

Run!

Quickly.

- Yan Xi, you protect Na Sheng and go. - All right.

Let's go.

After them.

You hide in here. I'll go out to help them.

Yan Xi! Yan Xi!

A'Ying.

Na Sheng's disappeared.

My drawing of the evacuation route is in the secret chamber.

Notify our people in Taoyuan Province to quickly leave in separate groups.

Yes.

A'Ying, hang in there.

- What's the matter with Bai Ying? - Her spiritual consciousness has been injured.

Su Mo!

Step aside, I'll save her.

How?

We, Kongsang, have our own magical powers.

You said her spiritual consciousness was injured.

What happened?

Bai Ying can't be directly exposed to sunlight.

Otherwise, her spiritual consciousness will be sunburned and her life is then at risk.

She's lived a life like this for a hundred years already.

A hundred years ago, in order to safeguard all the people in the city,

the High Priest decided to do whatever it took to open Wuse City.

Afterwards, the residents of Wuse City fell into a deep sleep.

And because people like Bai Ying sacrificed half of their spiritual consciousness,

they can never see the daylight.

At least not before Wuse City opens again.

They can only live there.

So that's the price of

opening Wuse City.

Something's wrong.

- How long can she endure like this? - I don't know.

I can only slow down the spread of her injuries.

After sunset, I'll take her back to Wuse City for a cure.

It's not even noon yet. How can she last until sunset?

What are you doing?

Su Mo, you bastard! Release me!

I won't let anything happen to you.

Sister Bai Ying. Yan Xi.

Where are you?

Search here. Stop there!

Everyone, listen to my orders.

The target is Taoyuan Province. Prepare the Wind Falcons.

Yes!

Don't disappoint me.

General, don't worry.

Prepare to set off!

Master Peng, General Yu Huan has left for the Taoyuan Province

to capture those who crossed over Tianque.

He's deployed the Wind Falcons.

It would appear that

capturing those who crossed Tianque is very tricky.

Or maybe General Yu Huan is too kind

and unwilling to harm the innocent.

He's bound himself up on his own.

You have hidden words in what you just said.

I don't dare deceive you.

When General Yu Huan went to capture those who crossed over Tianque,

they missed the best chance to capture them because of pity.

The benevolence of a woman.

You must pay attention and remind him at the crucial moment,

those who achieve great success must not be constrained by trivial matters.

Yes, Master Peng.

I just received an order.

The Heavenly Ring has appeared.

Kongsang's Heavenly Ring?

It's also in Taoyuan Province.

Tell Yu Huan that he must capture the Heavenly Ring and bring it back.

This is the command token.

Assist him. The mission must be successful.

Rest assured, My Lord.

I'll be the one to bring back the Heavenly Ring for you.

You all, go over there!

- The rest, come with me! - Yes.

- You, come here. - Turn around.

Stop there!

Where exactly did Na Sheng go?

All of you, come here!

Have Yan Xi and the others been discovered?

Could those be... Cangliu's new weapons?
