What's this? Oh just

I went from your rally last year it's a wonderful experience

Italy I don't feel that way it's matter

why so bedraggled come down and put it down doesn't mean anything anymore. It's all over.

Once you get it for them, because everything has to have a reason.

Sit down and be comfortable

Oh, Captain, My Captain. Our Fearful trip is done.

You haven't finished your drink.

Darling. You know I never touched the stuff.

Next season where that motorman reckon Uber around the first been before the rest up to the start engaging

better be vehicles sooner? I've been checking the frame down to line taller.

Why don't you touch it? I like it.

Suits me just as she is.

Oh, Abel. All right.

Daddy, she's alright. You ask yourself we're having a party. Yeah.

Yeah. We have three a week.

You're invited.

What time's this shindig start.

Oh, anytime you go on.

Got some work to do.

Don't be late for your own party.

As I was saying, attracts 12 Miles walk nine miles beside three this

sort of rectangle following? Of course they don't allow any more than 270 riders race at one time.

That sounds frightfully thrilling. Especially on Mother's Day, Mother's night.

Yes. That's when each rider has to do 15 laps with his mother

balanced on the handlebars.

My strings deserve here man.

Tommy I'm getting tired. It was.

That's the best offer I've had all day. I'm serious.

What does he think he's doing? Where is he search me

I left him down at the track.

Not at least To be on time for his own party

I can't find him nowhere.

Perhaps you have come by another trainer.

Now they said there was only

but we didn't know where to send it.

Come on. Let's see the other things you brought back

presents. It's all that struggle with martiny to you

and it's a pipe for what we've given

it is a shoulder not

only is a bottle a real old brandy

that I celebrate with on Sunday

mean you're lucky here

this is no one a buddy. You balmy?

It's cloudy and I'll tell you

sorry. I didn't mean it like that.

So I'm Bella I'm sorry. I just had a sort of a nervous breakdown at all.

Yes, I know. But this place is no cure for that.

The sooner you get out of it the better

so as you got to practice before the new season starts

there's no reason why I shouldn't have a rest

leg Are you scared to ride again?

What Are you doing here?

Just trying to get out of this place.

After all his time.

I suppose we should be grateful. Leave him alone.

When I told you before it was a fair race.

You don't think I did it on purpose to you?

Of course he did not forget it sister

sorry.

The point is now what do we do about leg

it's no good arguing with him.

done all I can.

Crap. We've been all over this 100 times.

I'm not going back. I like it here and

I want you to leave me alone

that's for lunch. You'll have to go now.

Bill take pet off somewhere and get her a meal with you

What about it?

Right.

So long. Hello, Bill. Thanks for coming.

goodBye leg

by beer. Sorry, I blew up.

That's alright.

See you tomorrow.

Good morning. Good. Morning, doctor. He's feeling much better these days.

Doctor is nothing I can do I've left my address in the office.

It's just a matter of time now I think. I hope so.

Yes. Good morning.

He just doesn't seem to be quite with you

and you put in there it's all part of the game.

I've had my share the spills it might have been me.

What are you so add up about them?

Why the nine be shut away then never seeing anyone

wonder what they do for money? Wasn't he insured

yes your gotta be all those bills must be getting pretty short

what you've been up to? Well this time and it's only now that you're gonna see him.

You can't just didn't think how you didn't think.

What do you think about if you didn't check puppets ever slow down long enough to

think you might realize what a crowd you are

What do you mean? Well take leg what will happen to him now?

He does get out of that loony bin he's finished his knee.

Take your chance. And the same thing is likely to happen to all of your sooner or later.

Why don't you bloke smart enough and organize yourselves? We've got the association.

Most of the riders belong to it. What do you mean to attract puppets?

I mean, you go around that track on strings.

Who do you think you're working for yourselves?

As you make money? A lot of it too. But where do you think the really big money goes?

We do. All right. It's just a sport. That's all.

In Spain. They call bullfighting a sport. It's a Bloodsport and speedway's not sure believe it

now I know for you it's just a job for all you riders a way to make a living

but the crowd you don't think they want to see a smash yourself up?

Don't kid yourself. They want to see a swept up into little pieces.

You want to come up from behind those flashbulbs sometime and take a look at their faces all of them

the kids worse than the men and the women worst of all

they love it?

What's the matter with you guys? This is not been no is it?

Is there anyone here who hasn't got his neck stuck out a mile?

This ain't no nursery and all we're in it for the dough and they get it together right hard

and if you're right hard you got to take chances.

It was a good kid and it's too bad that's all

Okay, John what if it was you well what if it was me?

You haven't gotten the kids anyway?

What about Derrick Charlie's got kids Joe's got kids peach going to him so

that's what I want to know.

I'll get the insurance

and a nice little subscription to

charity. How long is that gonna last?

Say what's your angle? Since when have you been interested in anybody else's little troubles

are written it isn't enough see?

I want protection not a Benevolent Society protection for riders and his families when they get hurt.

We're not being treated fair offer brings the money into this racket we do

we got the association. Bring it up at the next meeting.

What for to negotiate. Well, what's the alternative and new union better?

Well, one of the gives a fair deal. Who's gonna find it?

On the top? You all of us me?

You are rocking my boys

you're on a bonus

tell me

from the list for Derek.

Put the management down for a couple of 100

Well, that's that.

I know, darling. All right. I'm okay.

Come on. Let's go for a walk.

I'm not very good company tonight. I'm afraid

you are a fool to get mixed up with a speedway rider.

I know I have. Why don't you just turn it in?

Because I don't want because I can't.

And now allow a few words from our very good friend,

the chairman of the corporate syndicate.

Mr. Christopher Yates.

Ladies and gentleman, bride and bridegroom

there is little one can say that's original on an occasion like this

because as you probably noticed, people make a habit of this final customer marriage

I've always telling my colleagues to try and get it into their heads that our job is people

whether you're dealing big crowds 30 or 40,000 to the time they're still people

and what they want is the same as we all want

dash and glamour and we didn't be ashamed to say it cottage.

Smith man and that's why I'm drinking to the health of Bill Fox.

Yeah, there is only one phrase I couldn't think of to sum up bill Fox

he's got what it takes

Bill Fox and his very charming bride report

well thank you very much.

You will be very kind

there's just one thing that hasn't been said

there's one thing that hasn't been mentioned here today.

Like given my my wife's brother

Alright, let's drink to leg. Okay, well drink like a minute when I've had my say.

Leg was the first chap I met on speedway.

He gave me my start. He showed me all the tricks

today, his thumbs up on the star

and leg, legs down at the bottom forgotten

that's what your daphnia glamour and your courage means

as cutting each other's throats to give the crowded fill in fill a few pockets.

Speaking for myself quite personally, I'm fed up with being nothing but a

dirt track puppet

certainly wrong with Speedway providing the riders of fair play and security all round

that's what I aim to get.

What I want is a real union one that's 100% Strong unable to stand up to the big men like you Mr. Yates

that will give us what we're entitled to have security for ourselves and our families

and a fair slice of the profit

if we get that

we're sitting pretty

well I'll say something darling

that's enough

I don't get it What's he up to

the Vita for that

you really did it this time didn't you pops.

How do you like it out there in the rain

I'm out ladies and gentlemen.

I thought we all move out and enjoy a little swing

Well, I must be going Mrs. Fox. Goodbye.

Bye Fox. Nice buddy.

That's

it

by the way,

mr. Yates sent leg a check for 500 pounds last night

take him back to Australia?

The winner of game 13 was Buildbox at 61.3 seconds

Hey Tony posse

mustard

now you're ready rotor boy.

Five one waiting for the call. Still lead by 41 points to 37 with 1 heat to go

when watching I am not doing so well where have you been up to about a balloon?

You know I don't like one

that's the job 14

What do you get in it? Oh no, I think they stink they start putting some guts into it.

Start getting cocky. They might not know it, but they're on the way out

and take a week off. Rest.

Come here. What do you mean, come here.

makes you so anxious suddenly about my health?

I'd like to see my boys milling stairs to my foot.

Just giving you a week off that's all.

But when I want time I'll take How to i win when i not on tour. See?

We're not gonna come and write for us bill. And we can arrange it. Yes.

What about his contract? What about it on Capitol Hill for Tim, I'm asking you if you don't want to write for you.

I'm manager of this team. And I'm telling you

right when I say and how I say it where I say

otherwise he doesn't write at all

take it easy

okay, right now we'll take a rest.

You're gonna get me back in a week

you shouldn't worry about yourself like this.

What am I supposed to do break into song.

Bill? I've been thinking his new union. Even if it was a good idea.

Of course It's a good idea if the other riders don't support you you can't do it by yourself.

Do you remember you and leg once talked about starting a garage?

You could do it? No, you could.

Look I've told you 10 times already? It's no good.

That's Tommy

Tommy. Any news. Yes. What is it?

I'm afraid the boys won't take a drill. He just won't play.

Why not?

Are they scared or something?

Let's finish upstairs. I'll be down the minutes make some tea

come on out with it.

My advice to you is to forget the whole thing.

What do you mean? It's just not a good idea. That's all

boys think the prison associations doing okay. It works wonders.

All right, but that's the way they feel.

And what about you? It's making a difference what I think

while you're waiting, you just haven't got a chance.

I'm gonna guess this would happen.

Nobody will back me up because they're all too scared.

I'd rather let the management's good for the rest of their lives and stand up and demand their right.

Oh, wait a minute. It's true, isn't it?

It doesn't matter what they're worth. They just take what's doled out to them

and if they're nice little boys and valued on what you're talking about. No.

Let's make it pretty easy writing for you without me, doesn't it?

All right, big shot. I'll let that one ride for now and level with you.

The boys won't line up behind you because they don't know where you want to take them.

They doubt your motives. They think you're not so much out for a square deal all around as a big deal for yourself.

And a word they think you're a phony

I didn't want to say that but you wanted to hear it.

The best thing for you to do is to see rotten

Either play ball with me you're not in the game at all.

Rotten isn't anyone in the game anyway.

But Bill something else.

Oh, nevermind. Tell Pat I'm sorry. I had to shut off

Hello, yes. Yep. Breaks Hello Johnny Hi.

I was expecting you to call

that you said you could fix it

yeah yeah oh no

didn't know you're going to ride for Johnny

dirty double dealing Bill was your tone

has made a difference now does it Robin I need to fix that

what are you going to do

darling Why don't we talk about the other thing that garage

everyone knows the name of Bill Fox because I've saved

got a wonderful idea

whilst we're moving clearing out the house where the state I've always wanted to go there and as our chance

I'm not serious and of course I'm serious.

I don't know why didn't think of it before I'm fed up with this place the sooner we get over it the better.

What do you do in America

well Speedway Of course.

Can't believe you mean it?

We'll see whether or not we

should be there inside a month.

But listen was the phone book. Listen to me.

I won't do it. I won't go with you and I won't let you go

it's it's not like

you're going back on me to

nobody's going back and you're going back in yourself you always have your with Will.

What's the matter with you? How can you say when leaving the states

just like that looks just silly. You don't care what I think or want

we don't care about a home or a decent life nothing we're just self

I never said anything I never asked anything of you.

ut at least I'll tell you how I feel all these months every time I've raced every time there was a crash

I was the one who died Why do you think I stood in the stands on watch you on it

because it was even worse not being there

listen bill I'm warning you if you do go to America

if you go back to speed where to go alone

shall be with you.

Now Yes you will.

It will be worth it because you belong to me whether you like it or not

as soon change your mind

and to worry about it anymore?

It's not totally up to your time.

Now it's

important. Have you got your GASMA This is the BBC home service.

She wants to divorce

Madam, I went see Mrs. Lynch this morning.

Oh, how was she? Alright,

but a bit like I thought she'd be

a team they must have made

sure she said

with Dougie gone the kids need twice as much.

So it's up to me to work twice as hard.

fun isn't it

makes you feel ashamed.

Down understand us women do you

different ideas to the men

here

come in for a minute.

Most of our lives we're having babies.

Feeding them. Watching our rooms the grow up.

The most means different Seems like there was something more

selfish more destructive about

do you mean like Warner? What?

Sometimes it's wrong. It was with the blessing.

Sometimes it's other things. Success.

Excitement, like you and your motorbike for instance

What's the matter?

On the sunday? I gotta tell you

they want me to go back to the track.

Who wants you? Tommy posse? He's managed with the covers.

No, you're not going I what am I supposed to do, ma'am?

Is the only job I know is the thing. I'm best at job.

How can you talk like that?

Three months you've been out when all that time you've been looking to find work.

But what's wrong?

What is it that makes you not care about anything anymore?

Bill, you're not going I?

What was your trade?

Well, I haven't got one. Before the war I was you were in the armed forces.

Yes, army. But you've no actual civilian experience.

I was in a factory once. In what capacity?

We made electric light bulbs.

Can't you return to your old employer?

It was almost 10 years ago.

No other experience. I was in Speedway

Speedway speedway. I was a rider.

Speedway rider. Just make a note of that, if I may.

Well, I don't think that'll help very much. All I wanted was information.

But what sort of job I could do or what sort of jobs we're going, I've seen.

But you've got no training for any particular trade.

Low training schemes of course,

intensive schemes which could fit your for a given trade in a given period of time. For example, the plumbers trade

presents scarcity of plumbers, and that's quite in my line.

But you haven't gotten lines mr. Fox?

That's what we're trying to find for you.

I mean, what would I would I be able to live on it? The wages vary with the category of training.

What was your income for the war

was pretty high? I couldn't expect or anything like that again.

Mr. Zuma? What precisely did your earnings come to?

I must have some idea

why it's sort of varied from season to season

is to Fox. I have no wish to pry into your private affairs. They're no concern of mine.

But unless you give me some idea of the scale of wages to which have been accustomed,

say 90 quid a week

of course, the pound was worth a lot more than

tell me about it's a good job. Unions doing a good job now.

Strong, anything a little too strong.

As the manager and me. And I'm kidding. Bullets a better racket.

Dealing off the bottom these days. Not so much Doggy Dog.

And we need a riders bad.

Six is a man lost everything. Go ahead.

You don't lose it.

I'd like to have another crack at it.

Maybe rusty son, you need practice. Lots of it.

I tell you, Bill, things have changed sports growing. We got twice as many fans now.

And there are a new generation of writers coming up.

But there's no reason why you shouldn't be a star again, if you want to.

Main thing is what do you do if you don't

think of that though? Yeah.

Maybe I'll change to

maybe I wouldn't get the same kick out of it anymore.

Well, there's not much wrong with speedway.

It's a good enough sport. Like anything else. It all depends on how you go at it.

Most people make a good clean life out of it.

Others muck it up. Think it over.

I'm coming to you by yourself

now he's not here yet he's at the stadium

come in

Allison jump for Pete's sake don't go and kill yourself in a practice.

Look tell me I still ride

last few days are taught me that long as the mountain the track learner more right?

Well I'm not going to Captain this team until I can beat the best rider you've got.

You can beat this kid. Alright?

He's good, but you can beat him.

Okay, I'll beat him.

I want you to be a bad rap away.

Check out that noise. Are you ready?

Yep. All set.

Fire. All right. Well,

I used to win it.

I know you were wearing the first time I saw you.

That was a long while ago. I was pretty young then.

How old are you now grandpa?

20 20 20 23 wrong.

I knew I was wrong. Solicitors I want him back for love.

I hate the track night the things he does in the way he doesn't believe in everything.

To love 40 He be changed.

They want a new life that he tried to build a new life.

Yes, we thought that

I thought I might be able to shock him.

I didn't think I could do without him for the rest of my life.

See dad but it isn't true.

I could do that.

I could ever love anyone else

on now. I understand.

I only wish I could say he deserved you

the bikes already right

how you can take the pants off that boy anytime he likes.

Don't you think so? I don't know.

When it was a good ride at once. But that was a long time ago.

She was pretty hard too Don't you forget that?

Come on?

Do this properly we'll toss four tiles

I'll take me out I didn't go when you're

watching boy

Okay, tell me don't worry. I'll go rock

sets up a new track record

Right the winner of the button was Bill Fox in 59 seconds day
