[Immortal Samsara]

[Episode 17]

(Please let my two bosom friends)

(meet each other in the mortal world)

(and stay together safely and happily.)

How's His Majesty now?

His Majesty has already suffered from the internal inflicted injury

and now he's in extreme exhaustion

which leads to his decline in immortal power,

his health has deteriorated badly.

We could only try our best to keep his immortal spirit safe.

Whether His Majesty can wake up

and recover

depends on His Majesty himself.

If His Majesty can't be awakened

for a thousand or ten thousand years,

what should we do?

Normally, the pulse of people who are in a coma is stable,

while the pulse of His Majesty is erratic.

Perhaps His Majesty has a deep attachment in this place,

making him restless.

Since he has such a strong will,

His Majesty will wake up one day.

[Goudan Abode]

(I caught a big fish.)

-(Really?) -(Look!)

-(Yeah. It really is a big fish.) -(There are other types as well.)

-Pass it to me. -There are more over there.

(Be careful.)

There are more on that side.

(Be careful.)

(I got this.)

Luming?

You'd finally left the Pavilion of Books

after over eight hundred years of cultivation

and become the servant of His Supreme Majesty.

Why do you frequent the Pavilion of Books instead?

Today is the birthday of Yandan.

Whenever her birthday arrives,

it makes me think of the past days

when Yandan and I were hanging out together.

I wonder

if she's living a good life in the mortal world.

Has she met with Yumo?

I can't help myself from these worries.

How about you arrange the scriptures with me

to divert your attention?

Hades from the Night Forgetting River has sent in abundant missives.

And we're short of manpower now.

By the way,

river crossers who fail to cross the river within nine hundred years

would perish into ashes.

Therefore, all the spirits would cross the river in seven days.

There has been no exception over the past years.

Today, a guard of Hades

handed in the record of failed river crossers,

saying that there's a fairy from the Heavenly Realm

who's been by his side for eight hundred years and not crossed the river.

Therefore, he reported to the Heavenly Court,

enquiring if an amnesty is offered.

[Yandan, the immortal attendant of the Heavenly Realm]

(I can't see the flame clearly)

(nor can I feel the pain slightly.)

(However, the pain deep inside)

(still lingers.)

(Perhaps it won't hurt anymore)

(once I lost all of my senses.)

Luming,

why are you so anxious?

Yandan has been crossing

the Night Forgetting River for eight hundred years,

but she still can't manage to accomplish the journey.

It's reaching the deadline of nine hundred years in a few days.

Yandan's life is going to end soon.

Are you satisfied now?

How could it be possible?

I've seen her name

in the list of the river crossers.

[Goudan Abode]

Your Majesty,

please wake up.

Yandan will turn into ashes

if you don't save her.

Your Majesty.

Both you and Yandan are deeply in love with each other

yet you are separated

and ended up in a sorrowful parting.

Your Majesty,

for the sake of Yandan,

please wake up.

Fairy Zhixi.

I'll make up

for the mistake I made.

I'll never allow any accidents

to happen to Yandan again.

Zhixi,

thank you so much.

If His Majesty wakes up,

you don't need to tell him

about me.

I feel guilty for them.

Please don't let His Majesty think

that he owes me.

Curator,

Hades is truly a timeserver.

He pays so many artifacts tribute to the Heavenly Realm every year.

It's useless despite its large numbers.

There are merely metal scraps.

If it weren't for his severe wound

that can't be healed

and he wants to seek medicine from the Heavenly Realm,

why would he be so diligent?

He's the ruler of the Night Forgetting River.

How could he be so severely injured?

I couldn't care less about the reason behind his wound.

But it's good that he's injured.

Once a person has his weakness,

he can be of great use.

What's this?

Sonic Bat.

Once you release the bat,

you can hear the sound from afar

and converse with the person.

It's quite useful.

Curator.

His Majesty is awake.

Seriously?

Upon knowing that His Majesty is awake,

I brought along the soul-protecting dew to pay a call.

His Majesty is meeting someone else.

He made it clear that no one is allowed to enter.

Curator Yingdeng,

if you enter the room without permission,

His Majesty might be unhappy.

And your kindness will be wasted.

You may come and visit

after His Majesty returns to Yanxu Heavenly Palace.

If so,

I'll come another day.

Please help me to send a message.

During the eight hundred years that His Majesty was in a coma,

I've been praying daily.

Hopefully, His Majesty can summon me to an audience.

[Yandan, the immortal attendant of the Heavenly Realm]

[is still wandering in the Night Forgetting River.]

The water of the Night Forgetting River

diminishes one's past

and will.

There has been no exception over the past years.

I can't believe she has been walking alone

at the Night Forgetting River for eight hundred years.

How did she manage to endure

so many days and nights?

[River Crossers of the Night Forgetting River]

Yandan never yearns for ascension,

she only lives for her own will.

However, you refuse to meet with her

for the so-called future,

forcing her to jump off the Bridge of Emptiness.

One who fails to cross the Night Forgetting River within nine hundred years

will perish into ashes.

Your Majesty,

do you wish to see her turn into ashes?

How long till the deadline of nine hundred years?

Only

three days left.

Please think carefully, Your Majesty.

Please rescue her

and keep her intact.

I hereby express my gratitude

on Yandan's behalf.

So, I was wrong from the beginning.

She gouged her heart for me.

But I...

But I never fathomed her affection.

[Goudan Abode]

[Bridge of Emptiness]

Your Majesty,

it's the area of the Night Forgetting River ahead.

Without the decree of His Supreme Majesty,

no one is allowed to enter.

Please don't come forward

or you're forcing my hand.

Stay out of my way.

(Yingyuan.)

-Your Supreme Majesty. -Your Supreme Majesty.

You've abandoned your duty as a Sovereign Lord for hundred years.

And you finally wake up,

how come you're going to violate the Heavenly Rules

and repeat the mistake?

Your Supreme Majesty,

I still have an attachment

and I need to go to Night Forgetting River to save someone.

Yingyuan,

if you still insist,

I'll punish you as per the Heavenly Rules.

Your Majesty,

you're the Greater God of the Heavenly Realm

and the role model of the deities,

if you go against His Supreme Majesty in the public eye,

how would the mass deities obey you?

Everyone is forbidden from violating the Heavenly Rules.

Since I've done so,

I'll punish myself.

The first punishment

is for the assault of the heavenly soldiers.

The second punishment

is for the defiance against His Supreme Majesty.

The third punishment

is for the break-in of Night Forgetting River without permission.

I've executed the punishments myself,

I beg your forgiveness, Your Supreme Majesty.

If it's not enough,

I'll go to the Heavenly Gallows to receive the punishment

once I return.

Thank you, Your Supreme Majesty.

(Yandan,)

(I'll never allow you to return alive.)

I wonder if my missive

is received by someone from the Heavenly Realm.

Will Yandan really perish into ashes?

Your Majesty,

why are you here again?

Are you here to rescue Yandan?

(How much have you suffered?)

(Why are you in this weak state now?)

(Hundreds of years have passed,)

(are you still willing)

(to see me?)

Yizang.

I'm so sorry.

Today, I still can't let go of the past

nor can I cross the Night Forgetting River.

I've delayed your task again.

Yandan.

We've known each other for so many years.

There's no need to apologize.

I'll help you to cross the Night Forgetting River.

You'll definitely be safe.

It's almost nine hundred years.

Yet I fail to let go.

There are only two days left before the deadline.

It seems I still can't forget the past.

And now,

my sight,

sense of pain,

and taste

are all diminishing.

Meanwhile, my memories

didn't fade even a little.

I'd be better off dead.

Sorry.

You don't have to feel bad for me.

In two days,

I'll be free.

I'm not going back to the inn today.

I'll sit tight by the Night Forgetting River

and wait for it quietly.

Yandan.

The longer you live,

the greater the hope you have.

I bring you back to the inn now.

Let's go.

Recently, I have a liking for burning incense.

But, I have no one to show it to.

Your Highness,

I've checked all the dowries.

Do you think

she would like all of these?

Your Highness, you have almost all of the treasures

from the Four Seas.

Why would Princess Zhaolan not like it?

Previously,

she fell sick after returning from the Heavenly Realm.

Over eight hundred years,

I've been sending people to check on her secretly.

I heard that she's gotten better recently.

A few days ago, she even went to visit Clam Clan

and asked for a few bottles of clam pearl dew.

I guess she likes the shiny texture of it.

So, I've bought all pearl dew

and it's all here.

Your Highness,

Her Highness suffers from a recurrent illness

and she can barely get up from the bed.

Her Highness can't welcome you by herself.

Your Highness,

please come another day for the proposal.

Your Highness,

this clam pearl dew is so precious.

We can hardly gather a few bottles even if in the area of the South Sea.

Other princesses use it to maintain their beauty,

yet you apply it on the scale.

What's the story behind this scale?

Is it that precious?

Yes, it is.

To me,

it's the most precious thing.

(Your Highness,)

(you can't go in.)

(Your Highness.)

(Your Highness.)

You can't go in.

Your Highness.

Your maidservant said you're too sick to get out of bed.

But judging from your fine complexion

and high spirit,

you don't look frail at all.

You are probably malingering

to delay the marriage.

With this trick,

you've been deceiving me for over eight hundred years.

What do you take the East Sea for?

You may leave.

-Yes, Your Highness. -Yes, Your Highness.

Whether I'm sick or not,

the imperial physician will examine it.

But we're not married yet

and you entered my room without permission.

You've broken the rules.

In the Four Seas,

the East Sea set the rules!

Aoxuan.

You oppress and harm the aquatic clans rampantly

in your own reign.

I can't say much about it.

But this is the South Sea.

If you dare make trouble here,

I'll ask Father

to call off our marriage.

Fine.

I'll take you to meet your father

and talk about canceling the marriage now.

What are you doing?

What are you up to?

Let go of me!

What's this?

Give it back to me.

Let go of me!

It's rare to see your anxious face,

this seems to be something useful to me.

Very good.

I'll return it to you

on the day you accept my proposal.

Aoxuan.

You're shameless!

You just enjoy the feeling of coercing others,

do you really love me?

True.

I don't have feelings for you.

I'm only marrying you because of the domination of the South Sea.

Though you know the truth,

do you think you can do anything against me?

Aoxuan.

Aoxuan!

Greetings, Father.

Father.

I'm fine.

The subordinates of the East Sea

hunted one clan every year to refine them into spiritual power

to help to enhance your health.

But why is your body still not getting better?

I'm old

and I'll leave this world one day.

It's futile

even if more spiritual power is obtained.

Instead, I hope you could make achievements

and ascend to the throne as soon as possible.

How's your proposal

at the South Sea?

They keep putting us off.

However, I've got something today.

It may help in speeding up my marriage.

The Nine Fins?

I thought

the clan was wiped out during the War of Genesis.

How come there are remnants left?

Father,

what are the Nine Fins?

It's an ancient bloodline

that possesses both water and fire powers.

They were once the ruler of the Four Seas.

But...

Aren't the Dragon Clan the ruler of the Aquatic Clan?

We, the Dragon Clan could only domineer others

because of the demise of the Nine Fins Clan

and the Four Seas lost their ruler.

But now the Nine Fins have shown up,

the other Dragon Clans and Aquatic Clans would definitely follow them.

By that time,

not only the marriage with the South Sea,

but also

our status and lives

would be at stake.

Why would the Nine Fins Clan appear suddenly?

Where has he been hiding

over these years?

Aoxuan.

How did you get this?

When Zhaolan and I were at the Xuanxin Cliff in the Heavenly Realm,

she got along well with a black fish.

I found that black fish weird.

What are you doing here at this late hour?

He originates from the Aquatic Clan,

but he could go through the fire.

His spiritual power was strong enough to crash the soul-returning spell.

At that time, I thought he was weird.

Could he be from the Nine Fins Clan?

Celestial Deity Beiming has always been close to the Nine Fins Clan.

It's possible

if he had secretly rescued one of them at the time.

(It turns out this is the reason)

(why Zhaolan refuses to marry me.)

(Then, I can't allow you to live anymore.)

Father.

Since the Nine Fins Clan is a threat to our clan,

we can never let the other Aquatic Clans

to discover that this clan still exists.

At the Heavenly Realm, I've once seen a Nine Fins member

entered the Mortal Realm by opening the sky gap.

If he's in the mortal world now,

I'm sure I can kill him.

Father, please grant me an army troop.

I will eliminate him

personally

so as to spare us all the troubles.

Very good.

As expected of you, my son.

In that case, I will give you

the secret weapon which we used to eliminate the Nine Fins Clan,

soul-crashing hook.

Now, I'm approaching the end of my life.

Only by having this man killed

would I be able

to pass the sovereignty

of the Four Seas to you without worries.

(Old man,)

(you're going to lose control of me.)

(Back then, when you requested for the dark force,)

(did you ever think)

(that you'd surrender yourself to me one day?)

(It turns out Lord Hades)

(can only conquer millions of spirits of the dead in Night Forgetting River)

(because of the dark force from the Drawing of the Evil Spirits.)

(Though the dark force is powerful,)

(if the host is weak and vulnerable,)

(he'll suffer from the heavy backlash.)

Who are you?

Your Highness, don't be angry.

If you hurt me,

you'll lose the clue of the antidote that can heal your wound.

Shoot it.

There's a divine medicine in the Heavenly Realm,

namely, the Four-Leaf Lotus.

By refining this medicine, it brings the dead back to life

and cures all illnesses.

You'll be saved if you get one.

How do I get

this divine medicine?

This Four-Leaf Lotus has transformed into a human form,

namely, Yandan.

She violated the Heavenly Rules as she tried to escape from the Heavenly Realm.

She's hiding in the Night Forgetting River now.

Don't miss such a precious opportunity,

Your Highness.

What's your intention

in telling me this?

You need this medicine to cure your illness

while I want it to disappear eternally.

We're just helping each other

for our own needs.

Yizang,

what's this place?

It's different from the water

I used to cross.

The water is fast here

and the river crossers rarely come.

Miss,

you've been here for almost nine hundred years.

Before leaving here,

I'd like to bring you

to the most beautiful place

in the Night Forgetting River.

No, thanks.

I've been submerging in the river,

I'm losing my sight.

Now,

I could only sense some light

and I can't see any scenery.

Do you smell the fragrance of flowers?

Well,

you may take it as you've seen the scenery.

(And I've made good on our promise)

(to view the flowers bloom together.)

This

is a butterfly flapping its wings.

The Night Forgetting River is an extremely cold place,

how could a butterfly be born here?

It's only rare

to see living creatures here.

However, in the mortal world,

there are not only flying butterflies,

but you may also see rain, snow,

and four seasons.

I think

it's a better place than the Night Forgetting River

and the Heavenly Realm.

Once you leave here,

you may start anew.

I can't let go of the past

nor can I cross the river.

Even if the mortal world is a wonderful place,

it has nothing to do with me.

Miss,

as long as you're willing to go,

I can help you.

I...

I've been working here for a few months

and I can finally have some time to taste the brew.

Who's so cruel

that he has to break my bottle?

Who's this?

Don't be afraid.

It's just a drunk guard.

Butterfly of Lucid Dreaming?

Butterfly of Lucid Dreaming?

Hasn't its cocoon already been destroyed?

How did it break free from the cocoon

and appear in the Night Forgetting River?

I've read about it in the scripture.

It's said that the Butterfly of Lucid Dreaming is an ancient creature.

And its reincarnation is caused by love.

Only...

Today, Hades gathers the troop for training.

All of the guards have gone to the main hall,

why are you still here?

You better go now.
