[Immortal Samsara]

[Episode 16]

Go.

Guard of Hades.

How far is Night Forgetting River to the other side?

If you still have obsessions,

the distance is infinity.

When you've let go,

it'll be a step away.

I've walked 100,000 steps.

Every step I take, I tell myself

that I'm going to forget soon.

But up until now,

I still can't forget.

Ever since I started working here,

the longest time a person takes to forget the past

is only seven days.

You may stay in the inn first.

You'll get over it in a few days.

(Can I really get over this?)

[Yanxu Heavenly Palace]

What should we do with this old dress?

It's damaged.

Why don't we burn it in the Soul Incinerator?

Go.

Yes.

Should we get a heavenly physician?

His Majesty received a punishment of love.

We should hide it.

What should we do?

His Majesty's immortal power is scattering.

Should we just do nothing?

Your Supreme Majesty.

Take good care of Yingyuan.

After the cold,

don't let him expose to heat.

Lest his essence will be disturbed

and he might end up in a coma for a hundred years

or even die.

It's very dangerous.

Please be extra careful.

Yes, Your Supreme Majesty.

Thank you for the help, Your Supreme Majesty.

Don't tell Yingyuan

that I was here.

[Qianyun Palace]

Greetings, Your Majesty.

Did you burn the wrong thing?

No.

Everything in it is broken.

-Your Majesty! -I checked them.

Your Majesty!

Where's His Majesty?

His Majesty jumped into the Soul Incinerator.

Your Majesty!

You can't have contact with fire!

Your Majesty, no.

No.

The fire of Soul Incinerator can't be put out.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

He lost his essence.

His primordial spirit is scattered.

Your Majesty.

You hardly recovered some immortal power,

yet...

Your Majesty.

Come back to the palace with us.

I'll get a heavenly physician.

No need.

What I'm suffering now

is what I deserve.

Yanxu Heavenly Palace

is a place everyone in the Heavenly Realm longs for.

But to me,

it's just a cage.

I've lived for thousands of years,

yet I never had such happy memories.

From today on,

I'll leave the palace.

I'm no longer Sovereign Lord Qingli.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty.

[Goudan Abode]

(You've always been waiting for me with lights on.)

(Now,)

(it shall be me who awaits you.)

Sovereign Lord Yingyuan.

You promised me

that when your eyes are cured,

you'll enjoy the flowers with me.

Don't break your promise.

I shall make you remember

what you never dare to admit.

You owe me love.

I want you to witness me going into Night Forgetting River

and witness

how I forget you.

I guess now

you must have forgotten me entirely.

Yandan.

Don't go, Yandan.

(I can't pay back)

(what I owe you.)

Are you insane?

You want to expose your identity of Nine Fins?

Look.

The light is still on.

Yingyuan must be here.

Yandan gouged out her heart and jumped off the bridge for him.

Her life is on the brink.

Yet he's living in solitude here

and enjoying his peace.

How can I stand

a heartless person like him?

That's not true.

Before Yandan got onto Heavenly Gallows,

His Majesty got her the Letter of Immunity.

His Majesty never meant to hurt Yandan.

Just because he's the Sovereign Lord,

we have to be grateful for

whatever he awards us with?

Don't forget.

He was the one who forced Yandan onto Heavenly Gallows.

If His Majesty were a hypocrite,

why would he violate the Heavenly Rules

and jump off the bridge to find Yandan?

Look at the mark on your wrist.

You had a slim chance on Life and Death Arena.

How could Yandan's immortal power alone

be enough?

It must have been His Majesty who saved Yandan.

Look.

There are lotus seeds in the water.

His Majesty is planting lotus for Yandan.

There are many types of pain.

Do you think being parted in two worlds

is painful?

He is left with hatred

and can't pay off his debts.

Don't you think that's painful?

He's no different from you.

Stop it.

Since Yandan is saved by His Majesty,

she must have crossed the Night Forgetting River

and arrived in the Mortal Realm.

What's most important is

to figure a way to find Yandan,

instead of causing trouble here

and being trapped in Xuanxin Cliff.

If he hadn't let Yandan down,

she wouldn't have done what she did.

I don't care.

I have to find a way to the Mortal Realm.

I must save her.

(From Celestial Deity Beiming)

(at Xuanxin Cliff.)

(From the crooked Sovereign Lord)

(at Yanxu Heavenly Palace.)

(The gift of love. From my sister who loves me the most.)

(Prepared for the divinity ascension of Zhixi.)

(Yandan also wants to protect Zhixi.)

Zhixi.

Don't be afraid.

I'm here.

I'm not afraid.

Because I want to protect you forever.

Yandan.

I'm sorry.

Come back.

Okay?

I, Zhixi,

wish that my little sister, Yandan,

can go through everything smoothly

and turn calamities into blessings

no matter where she is.

I'll offer my immortal power as a Greater God.

Please grant my wish.

What a hypocritical

and fake sisterhood.

Your lowly sister seduced His Majesty.

She deserved to have her soul destroyed.

By praying for her,

you sullied the Sacred Temple.

The Sacred Temple is holy.

You're being malicious here

and speaking ill words.

Aren't you afraid of sin

and karma?

How dare you talk back to me?

Let me tell you.

Even if you've ascended to divinity,

you're still below me.

Even if I turned your sister into ashes,

you still have to obey my order

and work for your enemy forever.

You can never change that.

How dare you steal the immortal power?

No!

Remember.

If you don't mind your words,

you'll end up like this bottle.

It's said that Four-Leaf Lotus is of ancient bloodline

and high quality.

It seems

that the elder sister is good at scheming,

while the younger one is being naive.

You're a shame to the Heavenly Realm.

(Yandan.)

(In the past,)

(I was wrong.)

(I shouldn't have listened to the provocation of the wicked.)

(I shouldn't have blamed my incapability on you.)

(Don't worry.)

(This time,)

(I'll surely avenge you.)

[Magical Pavilion]

Zhixi begged the deitiship official

and got an exception to obtain the Roll of River Crossers.

Zhixi is timid but values divinity.

She even dares to bribe.

She's eager to save her sister,

so she lost her mind.

She doesn't know the deitiship official is close to you

and will expose this matter.

Bribing a divine official is a serious crime.

How would you like to punish her?

If I punish her now,

I can't guarantee that she won't find another way to save her.

I heard

that His Majesty also checks the registration book every day

to find out about Yandan.

Since they care about that lowly immortal attendant so much,

I shall send them some good news.

Ask the deitiship official to prepare a fake registration book

and list that Yandan has crossed the river

and arrived safely in the Mortal Realm.

Yes.

When Yandan can't cross the river

and turns into ashes,

I would love to see

the look on their faces.

[The Register of Heavenly Soldier Quarters] You shouldn't be here.

Get out.

Have Your Majesty been staying up

for duties?

Your Majesty is still injured.

This hard work will make your injury worse.

I'm here to inform Your Majesty something.

Yandan has crossed the river successfully.

[Roll of River Crossers]

Ever since Yandan jumped off the bridge,

I've begged the deitiship official

to let me check the registration book regularly.

Today,

I found Yandan's name

on the Roll of River Crossers.

(From now on,)

(she should have nothing to do with me anymore.)

(I shouldn't keep this in my heart)

(and be distracted.)

I just want to make up

for the mistakes I made.

Hence I came to console Your Majesty with this registration book.

Since Yandan has crossed the river successfully,

Your Majesty should stop being worried

and put the duties aside

to recuperate.

This is also what Yandan would hope for.

The Demons have no leader after the war.

The Three Realms are in chaos.

The people are not in peace.

I have to bring peace to the world.

Your Majesty is just trying to numb yourself with work.

Does being tired and hurt

ease the pain of losing your loved one?

That's enough.

I have my responsibility.

It has nothing to do with others.

You may leave.

(Since we have forgotten each other,)

(I only hope that you're safe.)

Please show the approval from His Supreme Majesty.

Approval from His Supreme Majesty?

This is the gate to the Mortal Realm.

Without the approval from His Supreme Majesty,

no one shall pass.

We will have your identity checked.

(The path to the Mortal Realm will reveal my real form.)

(If my identity of Nine Fins is exposed,)

(there will surely be trouble.)

(It may be even harder for me to leave to find Yandan.)

(It seems)

(I have to find another way.)

[Pixiang Hall]

(Yandan.)

(How can I enter the Mortal Realm?)

(Are you well in the Mortal Realm?)

[The Ancient Book of Nine Fins]

[Wenshui Pavilion]

(The restriction was just lifted.)

(Yumo has been nonstop looking for a way)

(to go to the Mortal Realm.)

(I'm sure he hasn't had a proper meal.)

Yumo.

Yumo.

Yumo.

Have you lost your mind?

A Nine Fins without a horn

is like a person without a limb.

Why did you do that?

The ancient book says

that the dragon horn of Nine Fins

is indestructible

and can destroy everything.

Hence I cut off this horn

to cut open the sky gap,

so I can go to the Mortal Realm.

"Use the horn as a blade.

It disappears after being used.

Those who cut their horn

will die from losing their spiritual power.

This is an act of perishing together.

Do not use

unless in desperation."

Yumo.

You're risking your life.

It's okay.

I must find her.

You're badly injured.

If you break the barrier forcefully now,

you may die before you reach the Mortal Realm.

How can you find Yandan then?

Zhaolan.

Zhaolan.

Help me.

Break the barrier for me, okay?

No.

Yumo.

Yumo.

Yumo.

I'll find a way to restore your spiritual power.

When one's spiritual power is lost

and changes into his real form,

only Pill of Nine Refinements can save him.

But that's a favorite of His Supreme Majesty.

It was obtained

from an ancient beast after years of conquests.

It's one and only.

I'm just a nobody.

I can't have it.

Therefore,

I've decided to try to steal it

in Yuqing Palace tonight.

If I'm caught

and sentenced to death,

please be sure to bring Merfolk Orb back to the North Sea.

This is the only thing I leave behind.

Don't fight against heavy odds.

I have another way.

Cheers.

Zhaolan.

Although we're engaged

and Father would like me to get married soon,

we just took our forms.

We shouldn't be in a hurry.

I didn't expect you to take the initiative to propose

and have His Supreme Majesty be our witness.

You read my mind.

Since this is your wish,

I will not let you down.

I'll give you a grand wedding ceremony.

Fellow immortals,

today's ceremony

is the marriage of the Dragon Clan.

The son of Dragon King of the East Sea, Aoxuan,

and the Princess of Dragon King of the South Sea, Zhaolan,

came to cultivate in the Heavenly Realm a thousand years ago.

Today, they have succeeded

and turned into a human form.

They should go back to Dragon Palace

to start their family

and continue their family line.

Today,

I shall agree to their marriage.

Let's celebrate together.

Thank you for the goodwill, Your Supreme Majesty.

It's our honor.

I'm grateful for your love, Your Supreme Majesty.

I venture

to ask Your Supreme Majesty for a wedding gift.

Zhaolan.

There has never been a wedding in the Heavenly Realm.

It's quite interesting

to grant gifts and rejoice.

What do you want?

Speak up.

I heard

that Your Supreme Majesty has a Pill of Nine Refinements

which can improve spiritual power.

I just turned into a human form

and lack spiritual power.

I would like to have it by my side.

Okay.

You're young, yet you often think about your cultivation.

I'm gratified.

Thank you, Your Supreme Majesty.

Your Majesty.

His Supreme Majesty held a festivity at Jade Pool,

yet Your Majesty didn't attend.

Why is Your Majesty here suddenly?

Seeing how Your Majesty dressed,

Your Majesty must have been to the Demon Realm to settle the remnant of the battle.

Such tough duties should be given to the subordinates.

Why did it yourself?

Did the Demons' invasion

disturb the Pillar?

There were just some cracks.

I've repaired it with the heavenly soldiers.

However, the crack is huge.

Xuanxiang must have hit it

with Nine-Tailed Hydra during the Divine-Demon War.

An unknown immortal covered the Pillar

with his immortal power,

hence it wasn't discovered.

(It's the spiritual power of the lotus.)

(Yandan.)

Report this matter

and investigate which immortal did this,

so he can be rewarded by His Supreme Majesty.

There's no need.

She's no longer in the Heavenly Realm.

She's not interested in the glory of the Heavenly Realm.

She surely doesn't want her name to be recorded in the Heavenly Register.

Tell the officials of the Heavenly Annals

to record this matter as such.

During the Divine-Demon War,

the Demons wanted to destroy the Pillar of the Sacred Temple.

An unknown immortal with a deep sense of righteousness

risked her life to protect it.

Although her name is unknown,

fellow immortals of the Heavenly Realm respect her righteousness

and are grateful for her.

(Hopefully,)

(everything goes well)

(for her in the future.)

[Xuanxin Cliff]

Careful.

This is great.

Your original form has faded.

You're finally alright.

Where is Zhaolan?

Don't be reckless again.

Your sudden decision

made Zhaolan and I suffer.

Do you know how much we've done

to save you?

I don't know.

What did you do?

After receiving this wedding gift,

you can never back out of your marriage with Aoxuan anymore.

Have you thought it through?

My father arranged this marriage a long time ago.

I have to marry him sooner or later.

I might as well take the chance to get this pill

to save Yumo's life.

You've done so much for Yumo.

Wait until he's conscious

and see him before you leave.

No.

When he wakes up,

I'll be loathed to leave him.

Zhaolan.

Yumo.

Yumo.

This is not a good place to talk.

Make it brief.

I'll keep an eye out.

Yumo.

Are you feeling better now?

Thank you.

But how can you leave without saying goodbye?

I've been away from home for hundreds of years. I have to go home now.

No way.

After you go back,

you'll surely marry the evil person, Aoxuan.

Have you asked your heart about it?

Look.

I knew you haven't.

I remember you told me

to ask the Heartseeker Bell

when I'm undecided.

Have you asked it?

Then...

What about your heart?

I've asked the Heartseeker Bell.

Heartseeker Bell told me

that I must break the barrier

to go to the Mortal Realm.

No matter what the price is,

I have to save Yandan.

Well then,

I've also made my decision.

Zhaolan.

Yumo.

Listen to me.

If you want to go to the Mortal Realm,

now is the best time.

Dragon King and Aoxuan just left through Nantian Gate.

The defense there is laxer than usual.

The heavenly soldiers can't attend to everything.

You can take the chance to open the sky gap

and go to the Mortal Realm.

I'll help you.

But Zhaolan...

This is a grave issue.

I'll look out for you here.

I'll not let the heavenly soldiers disturb you.

Promise us.

You must find Yandan

and make sure she's safe.

You must stay safe too.

(It's Yumo again.)

(I wondered why Zhaolan hasn't caught up with us.)

(Turns out they're meeting secretly here.)

(They want to open the sky gap?)

(Are they trying to elope?)

(I can't let them do this.)

(With the soul-returning spell of Dragon Clan,)

(let's see how you can fight against it.)

(Take this!)

Yumo.

Yumo!

Yumo.

You're injured.

Yumo.

Yumo!

Yumo, you're injured.

Stop trying.

Let's figure another way.

There are other ways

to open the sky gap.

Yumo.

Stop trying,

okay?

Yumo.

Look.

The sky gap is open.

I can go to the Mortal Realm to find Yandan.

Okay.

Yumo.

I hope you find Yandan soon.

When you find her,

take her to see me at the North Sea.

Thank you.

Go now.

Goodbye.

Yumo.

(The soul-returning spell has never been so powerful.)
