hey guys take a look so this is my

wife's car it's a 2015 Cadillac SRX and

it has the cracked screen that everybody

gets so I like took this to the dealer

should even tell me but she was getting

her stuff done on her warranty and I

think they quote her like 800 or a

thousand bucks

so don't know it seemed kind of extreme

I guess just for a crack screen and you

know if you've been watching my channel

for a while you know I fix a lot of

screens like with my tablets and cell

phone so I said look online saw one my

Amazon for 52 bucks because I thought

I'd give it a shot but yeah for where's

$1 or whatever you know so all right so

I gotta take some pieces off I'll show

you what I got on Amazon and then I take

these pieces off here then this sanction

that's pop up I guess it's from what I

read so far is that the SRX is a lot

easier to to take apart than the ACTA

Escalades and I'm not sure if they

actually have these in GM vehicles or if

it was just Cadillac but yeah it just

seemed like the man that's like a

hundred percent failure rate

there was even a class-action lawsuit so

all right let me show you I got it

before we take it apart I wanted to make

sure this actually worked re I had

looked at it and I wanted to see if they

actually came with tools to home to get

it apart so let me show you I'm gonna go

back to the car get I went out just make

sure it actually is the right screen

before I get into it but I also printed

out some sub my trim removal tools so

all right pop this up a little bit

there's like a spring-loaded clip there

pop that up right there and I was able

to get this underneath it like that

there should be in there spring-loaded

thing here

it's a little spring with a clip right

there and there's a screw right here you

need to get two right there alright so

this piece just came right off like that

there's two spring clips I like that

alright so looks like this side has

already been broken already but this

thing should just pop off and come

forward but this thing was actually

placed when we first got the car wasn't

working you know then about two years

later brakes again to screen cracks at

first it was actually working you could

actually touch it and still but then

eventually now you can't do anything it

just yeah so let's just pop forward and

you lift it forward up dirty all right

and then there should be two screws here

one here and one here and that should

pop the top bezel off okay so there

should be some spring loaded clips in

there and ball he had the two bolts off

here kids bill pull it forward

like that open this thing up first and

then I think this pops for little Clips

Arthur see then all right about that dad

keep it connected and get those out of

there and there should be double screws

here and there

and that I don't think should just pop

forward an owl screws are done you

should pop this forward and then I'll

get at you get behind and redo undo all

the wires back there let me put the

camera down I can't do this one hand

only just one power and speaker

connector and the rest are just like USB

extensions all right so now we have it

back on my test bench I got six seven

little screws we got get rid of her here

now we got to remove this back cover so

there's a bunch of well so we're looking

screws everywhere here here here there

now all around the side just make sure

you get all those out and I should just

pop that off guys are now all the screws

removed I should pop up like that guys

and now we're at what we need to be okay

so next week I get this big is this

lower plastic assembly off here that's

act like the compartment right there

so there's actually some screws actually

that one I don't think need to go see

all these these silver ones here there's

one there so did get it on camera it

just popped off on its own but there's

actually it looking a little small and

make sure you take out the whole ribbon

cable right there you're good right

there that this thing just pops right

down you do that plastic piece off

because you need to get this ribbon

cable right there right there

I'm out I should the digitizer ribbon

cable right there let's get a push up on

it really gently that should just pop

right back out like that

all right so I'm looking at the ANU one

I can actually see him I screws and

things have one by one two three four

five six seven eight nine screws it's

around the bezel so yeah I just follow

the bezel around if your wonder where

they're at just look at the new one

and all the screws are off the sanctions

pop off just be careful well I don't

know if you guys can see that but that's

I got this piece of foam in there

something in between the screens right

there

so I mean I don't know if I can my air

compressor in there I guess I didn't

noticed that where that piece of thumbs

at so all right

that's ridiculous it's in between the

layers all right so I'm gonna send this

thing back that's too much to deal with

yeah we're gonna trade this thing in a

couple of years and that would resale

value so annoying

alright so I knew one came from Amazon

how did he turn the other one there we

go so this one didn't actually I doesn't

have that white blue in it yes I can see

there's a new one so no blue heron

Corral River cable comes out and make

sure you don't put your finger prints on

this you're not gonna get to that screen

make sure you're violent

clean if you can I'm not gonna try very

hard not to get my fingerprints on here

yeah I'm just trying to do it like any

deaths in there or any sort of

fingerprints on it alright so now that

that's true keep the plastic on there we

put some padding down here so don't

scrape the scratch at the front of it

alright alright so now I'm gonna screw

the screen back on line up the small tab

it's a little pull Keys gonna make sure

you get those in place right now add the

screen bolt it back in put that bearing

cable back in there my needlenose pliers

here this cables not exactly

and then back that's it nice but the

storage compartment back on don't forget

that little cable right there to put the

back on come back on you have actually

the machine screws to go on these five

yeah machine screws go in to the metal

things here bolts all right this thing's

all put back together so already get put

back in the car well nobody's I'm a day

late so my wife's driving around the car

without the radio in it and the car will

drive without the radio in and people

it'll control the air conditioner

obviously the radio

yeah this is all the air conditioned

down here but alright so I put this back

in so she gets home awesome

alright guys night so I gotta put this

back on after the car yesterday so I

said the car does work without that

you're in there you can't really mess

the a/c but it it rolls all right before

I put this thing that go I see if it

actually works

awesome her go there guys it's working

hi everything's functioning correctly so

call volume down here it's working got

it right now I this time I stopped my

car so I don't know work this thing 100%

all the touchscreen stuff works so

oh yeah it's 2 bucks my Amazon then I

actually looked last night when I had to

get that replacement screen it's down

low $39 no put a link on the 1 for 30

bucks
