The year was 219 AD.

My father, Guan Yu,

led his army to attack Wei.

The army of Wu ambushed them from their back.

Subsequently, we lost every county in Jing Province

except for Mai Castle.

Our forces suffered a major defeat.

We could only retreat.

When we arrived at Mai Castle,

we only had 300 men left.

All of our supplies was gone.

Wu pursued us after their victory.

20,000 of their men had surrounded Mai Castle.

Father made his last stand and tried to fight his way out.

That day,

it was snowing.

General!

General, I was wrong! I won't do it again!

General, I won't do it again!

General, I know I'm at fault now!

You tried to escape before our enemies.

You're not fit to be in the army of Shu.

Today,

I'll end you.

- To maintain our law! - Stop!

Father.

I, Guan Yu,

am responsible for today's defeat.

It has nothing to do with anyone here.

Now, we're surrounded. You can choose

whether to leave or stay.

But, I've sworn an oath with Big Brother and Third Brother

in the peach garden.

We will revive the Han Dynasty.

Even death can't stop us.

I, Zhou Cang, am willing to follow you, my brother!

- Father, I'll follow you until the end! - General, we'll follow you until the end!

General, we'll follow you until the end!

I'm sorry.

All of you have been fighting with me for many years.

For this battle,

we will fight Wu

until the end!

When dawn breaks,

we will have our final showdown with Wu!

Yes!

Attack!

Attack!

Attack!

Attack!

They're impatient indeed.

Prepare for the pyro attack!

Forward!

Be careful! Don't get near each other!

Keep apart!

Attack!

Attack!

Protect our general!

Charge!

Attack!

The time is ripe.

- Who will own Jing Province? - Us!

- Who will own Jing Province? - Us!

- Who will own Jing Province? - Us!

Kill all of them!

Attack!

Attack!

Guan Yu!

I believe your Green Dragon Crescent Blade

was rumoured to be the best weapon in the world.

But today,

your past glories are long gone.

Drop your weapon and surrender!

Death means nothing to me.

Save your breath!

Attack!

Xing, do you want to learn it?

From today onwards,

I'll teach you the Guan Family Blade Style.

After you've learned it,

you can protect our people and our peace.

I hope you can inherit my Green Dragon Crescent Blade,

assist the Han Dynasty, and conquer the battlefield.

Father.

Brother.

I, Guan Xing, swear that

I will eradicate my enemies

and take back the Green Dragon Crescent Blade.

Our lord has arrived.

Guan Yu! My second brother!

You and I are sworn brothers!

Although we weren't born on the same day, we were supposed to die on the same day!

But you...

Why did you leave without me?

Guan Yu!

Guan Yu!

My lord,

I have a favour to ask of you.

My lord, please let me lead our army

and attack Wu.

Revenge for our defeat at Mai Castle.

My lord, I will put my life on the line!

We will avenge them!

I will lead the army myself and trample upon Wu's corpses!

My lord, you mustn't do so!

Our forces haven't regrouped yet. Our back is unguarded.

If we attack Wu right now,

we will fall into Cao Cao's trap!

Yes, my lord.

Please think twice.

- You guys... - I agree!

Now that we've lost our mighty General Guan Yu,

my lord, if you allow our young general to attack Wu right now,

he will die for nothing!

My lord, please think twice!

My lord, if you don't grant me permission,

I will kneel until you do so!

My lord,

in my opinion, we should stabilize our forces for now.

First, we need to hold a funeral for Guan Yu.

Yes, my lord. General Huang is right.

My lord, this is not the right time to attack them.

My lord, please think twice.

- My lord, please think twice! - My lord, please think twice!

We swore that we would die together on the same day.

I will definitely seek revenge for Guan Yu!

Xing,

I promise you.

When the time comes,

I will lead the army myself and destroy Wu

so that Guan Yu can rest in peace!

Guan Xing, you-

How could you throw away your military pass?

Now, I'm just an ordinary citizen.

I will seek revenge alone.

I won't make it difficult for our lord.

Guan Xing!

- Where are you going? - Don't block my way.

Guan Xing!

Both my father and brother are dead,

how can I live with myself?

You attack without thinking.

Even if our lord grants you permission,

you will never be able to seek revenge!

Your sword skills are weak!

Your military strength is non-existent!

You don't have any strategies as well!

And you're not the only one who wants to seek revenge!

What should I do then?

You want me to stay in Yi Province and do nothing?

You won't get anywhere if you rush things.

You need to calm down and gather your strength.

You need to think twice before you act!

Regarding infrastructure, I must say that

I, Lu Ban, am the best in the world.

You can find my pupils in any corner of the earth.

You're right. Master Lu, you're great indeed.

That Sun Quan from Jiangdong is only able to claim Jiangdong

because you built his castles for him.

Please don't tell anyone about that.

Who are you? What are you doing?

If you follow my instructions, I won't do anything to you.

- Wait! - What are you doing?

Don't smash my tables!

- Let's go! - My table is innocent, you know?

He left without saying anything?

My table!

I'm sure Guan Xing fought for a reason.

We mustn't let our lord know about this. It'll be troublesome.

Are these all of Yiling's topographic maps?

That's all I have.

Get out!

He knows what he's doing.

General,

a scout from Yi Province has reported in.

Liu Bei is preparing his forces. Seems like he'll attack us soon.

Great timing.

I've set up the ultimate trap for them in Yiling.

General, you're wise indeed.

This time,

they will

die by my hands!

General, please stop right there.

Our lord is busy today. He's not seeing anyone.

I need to deliver some military information to our lord.

General, please don't make this difficult for us.

Can you guys bear the responsibility if the information was delayed?

Get out of my way.

Get out of my way!

- General! - General!

My lord, the Yiling Dam is guarded by Pan Zhang.

According to my scout,

there's a secret path to the dam.

- Secret path? - Yes.

The secret path leads to the dam's mechanism.

As long as we destroy the mechanism,

we can defeat Wu easily.

General, do you have a way to destroy the mechanism?

- Zhou Cang? - My lord.

I have a plan.

I can form an elite scouting team.

We can sneak into Yiling Dam beforehand.

We will find the mechanism and destroy it.

After we confirm that the mechanism was destroyed,

the army may proceed with their ships.

This is a great plan.

Who shall we choose for the team?

My lord,

I fought beside General Guan Yu for many years.

I must kill Pan Zhang in order to avenge him.

In my early years, I fought many battles in water.

My lord, please choose me.

My lord, I, Zhang Bao, am willing to be your vanguard.

General Zhou is a war veteran.

General Zhang was born with great strength.

They're the best candidates we have.

My lord, I want to recommend another person.

Great shot!

Fan Ling, she lost her parents to Wu when she was young.

After that, we took her in. She grew up within the military camp.

She's a great archer and warrior.

Great.

Didn't I tell you already? This...

My lord!

My lord! It's me!

My lord! This is an urgent report!

- Your rank has been stripped! - Please don't make this difficult!

My lord!

- General! - My lord!

- He's busy. - I have something urgent to report!

Don't block me!

Are you Guan Xing?

Yes.

Do you know that you can be sentenced to death for intruding the camp?

I'm not here to create trouble.

Why are you here then?

This is an urgent matter.

Please hand this to our lord personally.

General Huang,

I think

we don't understand Wu's defences well enough.

I'm a bit concerned about

our people sneaking into their territory.

My lord, Guan Xing wishes to see you.

He said this map is very important. He asked me to hand it to you personally.

Bring it to me.

This...

A map of Yiling Dam?

Summon Guan Xing immediately.

- Put it over here. - Okay.

General Huang?

where did you get this map?

I've been doing research about

Yiling Dam's defences.

I tried my best

to find ways to attack their dam.

One day,

I found out about this map

through an artisan in the street.

My lord, I beg you.

Please give me another chance.

My lord,

Guan Xing spent his days researching ways to attack Wu.

My lord, please give him another chance.

My lord, please give him another chance.

My lord,

Guan Xing is trying to avenge his father.

I understand his feelings very well.

But since he was young, he's had a stubborn attitude.

If we let him join the scouting team,

I'm afraid it'll be hard for them to work together as a team.

Let me ask you all then.

Can anyone find a person more suitable

than Guan Xing to lead us into Yiling Dam?

Relay my order.

Guan Xing's rank will be restored from today onwards.

He's allowed to join the scouting team and attack Yiling Dam!

This is our first attack against Wu.

Failure is not an option!

Yes!

Guan Xing!

Guan Xing!

Guan Xing!

Let's go!

Guan Xing!

Guan Xing!

Guan Xing!

Guan Xing, don't kill him!

- Don't kill me! - He's the only one alive.

Save me!

Put me down!

Save me!

Save me! Put me down!

Put me down!

Put me down!

Save me!

Save me!

Put me down!

Save me!

- Lady, please let me go! - Shut up!

Please let me go!

If you listen to my instructions, I won't kill you.

I will! Lady, please tell me what to do!

Lead us into the city.

- Okay! - If you try anything funny...

I understand!

Lady, please put me down!

Please put me down!

How long before we reach Yiling Dam?

We'll reach Yiling Dam after we pass this mountain.

What should we do?

Sound the horn.

What does that mean?

That means they're opening the gate.

What's wrong?

In the past, there were only villages and paddy fields in this place.

After that, Wu came here and built their city.

They killed all the villagers.

My parents were killed by them as well.

Actually,

they killed my father and brother too.

That's why I must kill Pan Zhang with my own hand.

I need to avenge

the dead.

But for now,

we've passed the first test.

Poke.

Retract.

Poke.

- Let's go. - Retract.

Poke.

Stop. Why are you here?

We just came back from our patrol.

Save me.

What is inside that box?

- It's some wine meant for General Pan. - Wine?

Go. Let them pass.

Poke.

Retract.

Poke.

Retract.

Poke.

Poke.

Retract.

Poke.

Stop!

I'm talking to you guys!

Retract.

Where's your pass?

I...

Here.

You finally came back from your patrol. It must've been tough.

General, you're too courteous.

Take his body away.

Yes!

Poke.

Retract.

Poke.

Let's go!

Over here!

- What is this? - Dynamite.

Only use it when you're in an emergency.

Guan Xing, Fan Ling,

you two should go and scout around.

See if the entrance to the secret path is the same as the map.

Remember, you must be very careful. Return as soon as possible.

The two of us will guard this house.

If the enemies approach us, we will deal with them.

Go!

General, according to our scout,

General Huang and the Shu army are approaching Yiling Dam.

Good.

They've taken our bait.

Everything will go according to plan.

Monitor the secret path at all times.

I think

those bunch of fools from Shu

will take action soon.

General, don't worry.

I will make sure our operation goes smoothly this time.

General, you were responsible for our victory at Mai Castle,

but that Lu Meng took all the credit.

General, if we take down Huang Zhong, our names will be heard!

And you'll be the hero of Wu!

My success in life

all depends on this battle.

Come, put it over here.

- Slow down. - Put some effort in it.

Be careful.

Brother, let me help you.

- What are you doing? - Wait here for me.

No.

We're here to check out the entrance.

We mustn't attract their attention.

And we must follow our plan.

We can only strike at midnight.

Liang, you're on duty again?

- Yeah, I've been working non-stop. - Let's go.

I heard that Shu will attack us soon.

- Are you okay? - I'm fine.

- How's the situation? - That cave

is indeed the entrance to the secret path. The map is real.

Yes. And its defence will be at its weakest at midnight.

We don't have much time.

It's time for us to strike.

Fan Ling.

What are you doing?

I'm done.

I just...

Did you see anything?

I saw nothing.

That's good to hear.

By the way, that scar on your back...

I thought you saw nothing?

I'm sorry.

I got it when I was young.

When Wu came to invade us,

in order to protect me,

my parents used their bodies as a shield.

I was slashed in the back and it left a scar.

The Han Dynasty is falling apart.

Seems like death is something ordinary now.

We're considered lucky.

We're lucky,

and still unlucky.

Only by ending this chaotic war,

can we end the suffering of the people.

What do you plan to do

when the war is over?

If I wasn't bounded by revenge,

I think

I wouldn't choose

a chaotic life like this.

When everything settles down,

I want to return to my farm

and start a new family.

Don't worry.

The war will end sooner or later.

Uncle Cang is still waiting for us.

Let's go and look for him.

Brother, please talk to me.

It's hard to pass the time if we don't chat, you know?

Brother.

Listen, the food's been great lately.

Last night, I had four buns, you know?

- Let's go! - Hurry!

Hurry!

Hurry!

- Okay. - Let's go.

Everyone, you all better stay awake!

Yes!

If not, the general will punish us if he sees anyone sleeping!

Yes!

General, that's the signal. The mechanism has been destroyed.

Seems like they've succeeded.

Relay my order! Prepare for battle! Full speed ahead!

Yes, sir!

Guan Xing!

Guan Xing!

I've finished the task our lord assigned to me.

Now, I will act on my own.

With Zhang Bao's strength,

I'm sure you guys can escape.

Guan Xing!

He's going to look for Pan Zhang.

Come on!

General, these are the horses I hand-picked.

By the way, General, the mechanism has been destroyed.

The huge fish will take the bait soon.

Are we done preparing the formation?

General, everything is prepared.

We're just waiting for your order.

Huang Zhong will die in our sea of flames.

Good!

Follow me to the tower. We will monitor the battlefield.

By the way,

someone should get rid of

the troublemakers hiding in the secret path.

Yes, sir.

General!

Hold it right there!

Stop!

You think you can assassinate our general?

Thugs of Wu! Our army will destroy you all!

Destroy us all?

He's the son of Guan Yu,

who lost to me in the battle of Mai Castle.

How do you think

you were able to obtain this map?

I lured you guys in on purpose.

That way, Huang Zhong and his army will die together with you all.

Isn't this fun?

Nonsense.

How is that possible!

General, why don't we kill this scum from Shu?

So he won't create trouble for us.

No need for that.

Send him to the dungeon.

I will let him witness the death of the Shu army in person.

- Take him away! - Let me go!

Let's go!

Let me go!

General Guan, how are you?

It's you? You despicable scum!

I'm the scum?

All of you so-called heroes think that we're weaklings.

But heroes always fall to weaklings like us.

Fine.

I want to make a deal with you.

I have a piece of vital information. You will earn plenty of credits from that.

But, I have one condition.

You must ask Pan Zhang to spare my life.

- Vital information? - Come here.

I'll tell you.

That information

is...

Tell me! What is Pan Zhang up to?

I only know that Pan Zhang has been transferring his troops

to a basement within the city!

Two of you, hurry!

Wait! I'll look for Guan Xing.

- You two should leave. - No, Uncle Cang. You can't go by yourself.

We'll look for him together.

Let's go.

- Quicklime? - He's over here!

Kill him!

- Stop! - Don't run!

Stop!

Stop!

Stop!

So, this place is connected to the dungeon.

Guan Xing, listen up!

Never act on your own again, you hear me?

Guan Xing,

you're not the only one who wants to seek revenge.

All of us hate Wu as much as you do.

Don't forget, we're all warriors of Shu.

We were tricked.

I discovered a huge amount of quicklime in the dungeon.

Quicklime can react with water and ignite combustible material.

If they use it, the entire river will become a sea of flames.

No wonder the mechanism was destroyed that easily.

Retreat!

Hurry!

Hurry!

Pursue them!

Hurry!

Hurry!

Zhang Bao, leave with them!

- Uncle Cang! - Hurry!

Uncle Cang!

Uncle Cang, what are you doing?

Guan Xing, before the Wu army ambushes our army,

you should tell them about their plot!

Uncle Cang!

Uncle Cang! Hang in there!

Use all your strength!

Go!

Use all your strength!

Uncle Cang!

Time is running out!

Do you want them to wipe out our army?

- Uncle Cang! - Go!

Tell them about Wu's plot!

Go!

Hurry!

Use all your strength!

Pursue them!

We have no way to escape now.

The sound of water?

Yiling Dam is surrounded by water.

Don't tell me we're trapped by the river?

Maybe we're underwater right now.

Back up!

- General. - General.

- General. - General.

General.

General.

General.

- General. - General.

- General. - General.

General, we're ready.

Prepare to attack!

Prepare to attack!

Prepare to attack!

Prepare to attack!

Hurry!

Hurry up!

Hurry up!

Hurry!

Ready the catapults!

- Fire! - Fire!

Release the arrows!

Strange.

Why aren't they abandoning their ships?

Why is this happening?

Don't tell me...

General Guan is back.

- What's going on? - General.

Where's General Zhou?

General, we were deceived.

They plan to use quicklime to burn our ships.

They plan to burn our ships?

But I think

we can use their plot against them.

What's your plan?

Yiling is surrounded by mountains and rivers.

Within the city, there's a basement.

The outside of the basement is connected to the river and the dungeon.

After that, we discovered a secret path beside the dungeon.

The secret path leads to the control room.

The control room houses the mechanism for the dam.

This cave is located at a higher altitude. Water won't be able to reach it.

Actually, we can blow this cave open and lead our army inside.

We can rush inside and surprise them.

Great. Relay my orders!

Replace our men with men made of straw.

We'll set sail at night.

You will lead a team and launch a surprise attack using the secret path!

Yes, sir!

Fan Ling,

your leg is injured. You shouldn't go.

You should stay here and join General Huang for the frontal assault.

No, I must go!

I will return in one piece.

Don't worry.

Reporting in! The Shu army is flooding in from the secret path!

Kill them!

- They fell for our trick! - Great! Launch a full-scale assault!

Yes, sir!

Put up a formation!

Raise!

- Battle! - Kill them!

Kill them!

Charge!

Attack!

Attack them!

Follow me! We'll escape!

- No one will block my path! - You will never get past me!

Seal the gate!

Where are all my men?

- General, the front gate was breached. - What?

The Shu battleships have reached the shore.

One, two, three!

One, two, three!

Charge!

No one will block my path!

Guan Xing!

Guan Yu is dead because Shu didn't send any reinforcements to him!

Why are you still serving them?

In Shu, there are countless generals like Guan Yu.

All of them have the same mission. To revive the Han Dynasty.

A thug like you will never understand!

Fool, you were protected by your father's glory since youth!

Of course you don't know the way to survival!

Fame and power are the only things you see!

When my father first followed our lord,

he was a nobody as well!

But in his heart, he only cares for the people and the country!

You can find him in the afterlife then!

I hope you can inherit my Green Dragon Crescent Blade.

Assist the Han Dynasty and conquer the battlefield.

General.
