done any background on him yet.

So we've identified our confidence tricksters,

one of them was murdered?

worked on his father's
market stall for a few years.

Then, in 2021, he left home
and has been travelling ever since.

hooked up with Darianna Green.

that handles a business account
he and Darianna set up together.

uncovered about her suggests

she's deceitful and ruthless, but...

..there's definitely a softer
side to her in these emails.

So Hannah Roberts has been lying.

According to the Miami Police files, she
had a previous connection to the victim.

Four years ago, Darianna
Green was setting up a scam

with another con artist called Lamar Brissett.

They were sourcing investment
for a fake beach club development.

Long and short of it is Hannah's
brother, Michael Roberts,

lost just over £100,000 of his
own savings to Darianna Green.

The same night Michael
found out he was being duped,

he got drunk, crashed his car, died in
the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Michael was different to me, more adventurous.

It's why he got a job in the US.

Wanted his life to be more interesting.

Did he tell you about any of it?

A bit. He said he had an opportunity
to put some money into a beach club,

and I thought it was such a cool thing to do.

Um, the next thing I heard...

..yeah, was from the police in
Miami telling me he was dead.

And now you're here, four years later.

That's not a coincidence, is it?

Miami after Michael's death.

I just wanted to be nearer to him.

And I ended up staying there.

And a couple of months ago,

I got an email from an
exclusive real estate company...

and we just hit it off.

left on the boat alive and well,

there's no way Gavin Ellis could
have made it back to the boat

cos he walked half a mile
inland to buy cigarettes.

when Lamar was beaten,
taken out to sea and left for dead.

alive and kicking right in front of us.

On the morning of the
boat trip to St Agatha's Cove,

Lamar arrived at the harbour early...

..and made his way to
the boat that you'd all hired.

And hid himself away in the hold out of sight.

He waited until the boat came to a stop,

and then, when he heard the dinghy going ashore,

that was his cue to make his way onto the deck.

Now, we know that Lamar
and Darianna fought in the cabin.

And then the struggle moved on to the deck,

where Lamar must've grabbed
the first heavy object to hand

and struck her twice.

We were initially troubled
that no-one heard Darianna

scream out for help when she was attacked.

But now we know the murder
occurred only a minute after

you cast off in the dinghy.

We believe the noise of the outboard
motor dampened Darianna's cries.

After he was sure she was
dead, Lamar dived into the sea

and swam as fast as he
could back to the shoreline,

a little further along from the beach.

In the dinghy, facing forward,

taking in the picture postcard beach,

he could be fairly confident that your attention

was on what lay ahead,

not on the man swimming in the sea

a little distance behind you.

It was then just a case of picking up
his bike and riding it back to the shop.

And in this heat, with the
air blowing on him as he went,

I can easily believe that his clothes would
have dried out by the time he got there.

Once back at the shop, he would
take his place behind the counter,

and no-one would be any the
wiser as to what he'd just done.

You should know,

Mr Brissett, that our two officers there

have just dusted the hold for fingerprints.

And I have every faith they would
have found a pair that matches yours.

The only question left to answer is,
why kill Darianna Green?

We assume it has something to do with
what happened in Miami four years ago.

The police there are of the belief
Darianna made a lucky escape

when the heavies beat you
and threw you out to sea.

They nearly killed me that night.
