We found the seam of gold and now we
just need to put up some numbers.

I spoke to Kim and he was stoked
that we found 2.5oz.

But he's given us till the end of
the week to find another 3oz.

And fellas, if we can pull that off,

they'll give us some big equipment
so we can get to the big gold.

whose 25 ton grader made light work
of clearing

a new cut on the Yalgoo lease.

To do this would have taken us
three days.

He just clicked his fingers,
it's done.

That produced a haul worth over
$6,000.

We know where the gold is now

but there is not enough big gold
so maybe it's all in the finds.

Well, we'd better find some
fine gold.

The pressure's on here now.

I need to keep Rusty happy.

He's turned down a lot of work here
so I've got to make it happen.

About here should be the spot

because you look at the plan

and all the nuggets have
been down here

so the lighter material's going
to come down

so this is where it should be.

This might turn the tables for us.

If there's gold in the pay pot,
there'll be gold in the sluice.

washing smaller material down
the funnel into the pot,

trapping any heavier fine gold

and washing lighter sands
out of the top.

I thought I could make more money

out of gold than I can
work so we'll see how we go.

Maybe the fine gold is going to
do it for us.

We found a fair bit of gold up
there, a lot of nuggets.

I think it's washed this way so this
is where the smaller gold should be.

Using this method, the team can

process half a trailer of dirt
in minutes.

All the heavies, the gold and the
ironstone will stay down the bottom

and all the light material will
come out of the top and flush out.

So all we've got to pan off
is just that

and that will only be about
half full, about there.

This is absolutely going well.

Got to keep up with this, Rusty.

We've got enough water there to run
four or five days.

once in a generation storms

have unleashed the highest recorded
rainfall in over five decades.

Rookie miners Vince Malacria
and Bibby Gerali

have joined forces with 40-year
mining veteran Murray Cox.

This area is unworkable until
this water is removed

and the hole is
filled with a solid material.

It's a major priority to get
this water out of this hole.

The simplest way to get it out

is with the excavator
and bucket it out.

We could put a pump in there
but I want this out today.

Any rain that comes tonight, I do
not want any more water in there.

I want to fill this hole in tonight.
It's an absolute priority.

First Murray must create a barrier of

sand or windrow to stop more water
pouring into their work pit.

Then he'll bucket out the water
with the excavator

so it runs downhill and away
from their worksite.

Lastly, they'll fill the hole
with sand to stop further flooding.

But he also needs to clear
a new patch

so Vince can keep detecting for gold.

promising results,

Shane and Russell are setting up

their wash plant Mrs G-Force
on their remote Yalgoo lease.

and get the right angle
on the bowl.

That's the main thing.

Because it's a reverse helix,

it actually casts the gold
up the topside.

Paydirt loaded into the hopper feeds
the wash plant.

The heavy gold gets caught in a
spiral groove inside the rotating

trommel that acts like a corkscrew
trapping gold with centrifugal force.

The lighter,
non-gold bearing material

washes over the grooves
and out the bottom.

Any fine gold that escapes
the trommel

is caught below in the sluice tray.
