=Episode 27=

Is this for me?

Mine and yours

come in a pair.

Why would you want to give me this?

Today morning,

you suffered from carsickness.

You must've stayed indoor for a long time.

That's why you can't withstand the carriage bumps.

I'm worried you're not used to it.

So...

So I bought it.

This place is quite far from the nearest town.

Besides, the pillow is made with exquisite workmanship

and fine materials.

It must be expensive.

No.

It's not that expensive.

From now on,

if you want,

you can have

all my money.

What are you talking about?

I didn't say I want to marry you.

Miss.

I'll sleep here tonight.

I won't interrupt you.

Just go.

Get some rest.

Be careful.

(Ninth Princess, Shen Miao, Shen Xiao, Pei Yanzhen, Song Xiyuan)

Tell me.

What's your thought on it?

In my opinion,

it's a stupid trick.

Pretending to be blind can only elicit sympathy for that moment.

It can't win Shen Miao over.

I beg to differ.

I think the relationship

between His Highness and Miss Shen is

moving in the right direction along the way.

Does your comment have any reference significance?

So far,

Lvying is closer to Tie Niu.

You still want Pei Yanzhen

who's no better than you to emulate your actions?

Your Highness.

What do you suggest then, Martial Brother Zhan?

So I'm your Martial Brother now?

Didn't you enjoy it a lot when you deducted

my wages back then?

Well...

Didn't you want me to ask His Majesty

to grant your marriage with Ninth Princess?

Please don't hesitate to enlighten me.

The best tactic is

to know what she cares about.

Let me ask you.

What is Shen Miao most concerned about now?

I know.

It's Song Xiyuan.

Wrong.

It's Shen Xiao.

Go on.

Compared to Song Xiyuan,

Your Highness's biggest advantage is

that you're Xiao's biological father.

As long as you win Xiao over,

even if Shen Miao doesn't like you,

she'll still have to stay by your side.

When you enter the capital

and Regent's Residence,

you can do whatever you want.

Everything will be under your control.

Martial Brother Zhan,

it's only been a few days.

You've improved a lot.

Your Highness,

the biggest problem now is to make

Miss Shen move into the residence.

Over time,

I'm sure I can convince Miao.

Yes, Your Highness.

However,

we'll arrive in the capital soon.

Zhao,

I've got a plan

but I'll need your cooperation.

Sure, will do.

I'll fully cooperate with you.

No problem.

Let me tighten your belt.

Okay.

Tie Niu, where's my horse?

You're still acting?

Miaomiao.

Good morning.

- Good morning. - Third Master.

Third Master.

Miao, you're here too.

Third Master,

I wonder if you can give me a ride today.

Why?

Constable Zhao accidentally let go of the horse.

We're not able to continue the journey.

I'm afraid it will be delayed.

May I ask what it's got

to do with me?

Right.

I'll just walk back to the capital.

Go.

Fine.

I think Constable Zhao and Zhan Yue

have been unfocused lately.

We'll arrive in the capital soon.

Let's travel together.

Thank you, Third Master.

Miao,

you guys continue.

I'll go inform them.

Pei Yanzhen,

I haven't said yes.

Miaomiao,

you stay here.

I'll go check if he's telling the truth.

Here.

Miao,

try this.

Miaomiao.

Eat this.

This is delicious.

Try this, Miao.

Eat this, Miaomiao.

Try this, Miao.

This seems nice.

Miao,

try this.

Eat more vegetables.

Try the bun.

Are you done?

I swear,

he started it.

Third Master Song said it's my fault,

then be it.

Third Master Song said it's my fault,

then be...

Go on. I'm not going to eat.

- We'll stop. - Miao.

No fights. Let's sit down and eat.

Stop.

Stop.

Stop.

Tie Niu,

we should go to the right.

No.

This map shows

we're supposed to take the path to the north.

Look.

Isn't this the north?

I think you've been

living a good life these days that you've lost

your sense of direction.

Just follow my lead.

It won't go wrong.

Let's go.

Come on.

The north?

Hurry up, Silly Niu.

Chop, chop.

To the north.

Keep up.

We're toast.

We can't cross the river.

Let's go.

Turn around.

Take a detour and go back.

Let's go.

No, wait.

If we circle back to that junction,

it'll be about four hours away.

It's too far away.

What do you want to do, then?

Swim across it?

Are you out of your mind?

What is the sound?

Official Zhao,

you led us here.

How can you blame this on me?

Haven't you been holding the map all along?

Are you a fool?

Why did you follow me if I was going the wrong way?

You...

Your master must be very mad now.

You simple-minded man.

- A fool. - You...

We're fine, Lvying.

Lvying,

look how pretty the stone is.

Come here, Tie Niu.

Silly Niu.

Look, Lvying. The stone is very pretty.

Miaomiao,

eat some almonds.

Almond is cold in nature.

She can't eat much of it.

I have some sunflower seeds.

Eat some.

They are heated.

My inner heat rises when I see you.

Stop.

There you go again.

I'll go sit with Xiao if you keep doing this.

No.

Where's...

Where's my cane?

Why is the lunchbox over here?

Don't you think it's crowded?

I think

it's better like this.

Shameless.

You...

Miss, we've arrived in Fuyang.

Fuyang?

Why are we in Fuyang?

Isn't that further away from the capital?

Master Song didn't trust me.

He insisted on letting Tie Niu lead the way.

Tie Niu didn't know the way

so he made a mistake.

It was an accident.

He didn't mean to.

What are you talking about?

It's my bad

that I couldn't convince Official Song.

Sir,

prepare some dishes for us.

Zhan Yue.

Your Highness,

why are you here?

I'm the princess.

No one can hide their whereabouts from me.

You can't escape from me.

Zhan,

what's with the reaction?

What is this about?

What do you mean?

That's because of Pei Yanzhen.

Fine.

As such,

well,

why didn't you reply to the letters I wrote to you?

What letters?

I... I didn't know there were letters.

It's impossible.

I clearly asked in the letter

that if you're also...

Your Highness,

I'm in a hurry.

I've got to go.

Zhan Yue! Zhan Yue!

Let's go, Xiao.

Xiao,

did you get a good rest?

Let's go.

Zhan Yue! Zhan Yue!

Shen Miao?

You...

You came back to life again.

Master.

Master,

don't get mad.

You can't blame this on me.

It was Zhao who led the wrong way.

You got the map.

Why did you listen to him?

Was he the one who paid your wages?

You're so simple-minded.

I can tell why Lvying doesn't like you.

Who told you that?

You can't take it out on me after getting knocked back

by Miss Shen.

Besides,

it was two days ago.

Two days ago,

Lvying bought me a candied fruit.

Moreover,

she happily

accepted the pillow I gave her.

It was a while ago.

She asked me

to go and buy pastries

with her after having everything cleaned up.

Just do your job.

It ticks me off.

Geez.

How dare you steal my woman!

Since you're fine,

why didn't you write me back?

I've cried for months because of you.

Shen Miao,

it's great to see you alive.

I lost my memory back then.

I've just recovered recently.

So I'm going to the capital for you.

You're heartless.

All of you went to Weiyang to have fun.

I was the only one who was left behind.

You're mad because of Zhan Yue, aren't you?

How could you take it out on me?

You have no idea.

Obviously, he likes me.

I've been testing him for the past two years.

But he just can't get it and keeps giving me the cold shoulder.

He left the capital

without saying goodbye to me.

I can't believe he treats me like this today.

I couldn't fight him.

Or else,

I'd make him feel my wrath.

Great things take time.

Someone tends

to take a longer time to understand love.

When he arrives in the capital,

there'll be chances for you to get along with him.

But you're the princess of this country.

As you came here alone,

what if you encounter danger?

I didn't know there were

so many cities outside the capital.

I went in the wrong direction not long after I came out.

But,

fortunately, you went the wrong way.

Otherwise, I'm afraid we would never meet again.

Obviously, we're blessed.

We'll meet each other for sure.

What's going on in the capital?

You even specifically came for Zhan Yue.

Shen Miao,

only you can save me this time.

It's me.

Can you act more like a blind man?

Why are you staring at me like this?

Do you think you're handsome?

Which one of my eyes stares at you?

Can you stop laughing?

It terrifies me.

Here.

Have a sip of tea to soothe your throat.

Tell me

what's going on between you and Ninth Princess.

I wondered why you were more well-informed than me

when you were in Weiyang City.

It turns out someone has been communicating with you.

Mind your words.

I only received her letters.

I didn't write her back.

You don't like her?

I...

I'm a macho man,

who leads a wandering life.

There's no such thing as love.

So,

you do like her.

Just spend your free time

worrying about Shen Miao.

Don't be a busybody.

It's unexpected.

I thought Official Zhan was

an expert

that wouldn't be attracted by women.

I can't believe you'd end up in such a situation.

It's absurd.

It's absurd.

Let me tell you this.

I can't see things now.

Bullying the weaklings will be evicted from the academy.

Swindle is

an aggravation.

Allied marriage?

Yes.

I wonder where that uncivilized region

gets the nerve

to ask to marry me.

I...

I'm not going.

Calm down.

His Majesty has always been kind.

And you're his only sister.

He won't let you go no matter what.

You don't know this.

No one would listen

to my brother's command in the court now.

Pei Yanzhen is a heartless

and brutal person.

Unless he agrees to it.

Otherwise,

my marriage is a sure thing.

Let me ask you this.

Do you really like Zhan Yue?

Or you just don't want an allied marriage?

I truly like Zhan Yue.

Meanwhile,

I don't want an allied marriage.

Well, does Zhan Yue know about this?

I don't want him to know this.

I'm worried he'd agree

to marry me

out of righteousness

to help me avoid the allied marriage.

If so,

I'd feel reluctant after marrying him.

Shen Miao,

I just want him to sincerely ask for my hand.

It's easy.

In my opinion,

Zhan Yue does have feelings for you.

And he's Pei Yanzhen's martial brother.

If Pei Yanzhen knows that you two are in love,

I'm sure he'll stop the allied marriage.

Are you for real?

Shen Miao,

you must help me.

(Taoju Inn) Let's wait for Tie Niu.

(Taoju Inn)

(Taoju Inn) Sure.

(Taoju Inn)

Sir.

Miss Lvying,

are you waiting for Tie Niu

to buy pastries with you?

How did you know this?

Of course I know it.

It was him who asked me to convey this to you.

He said Third Master Song gave him a command.

That he can't come.

Is that true?

Yes, it is.

Otherwise,

why would he tell me such an important thing?

Do you

want me to come with you?

Miss Lvying,

as you insist,

I won't reject you.

No, thanks.

You're a bad influence to the kid.

Let's go, Xiao.

Hand.

(Taoju Inn)

(Taoju Inn) You're leaving?

(Taoju Inn)

Why did you bring me here?

Didn't you think

I should tell Zhan Yue about my feelings?

That's why I want to come here and request

for "The Golden Bough"

to confess to him.

"The Golden Bough"?

That's great.

The play is a story

of a hero who met a princess in an unpleasant event

and they ended up getting married.

Zhan Yue will understand

what you mean after watching it.

But Fuyang City is a small place.

There's no good actor here.

(Melody Stage) Perhaps

(Melody Stage)

this is

my only chance to confess to someone.

So what?

Didn't you say

it's important to make Zhan Yue understand my feelings?

How could the ordinary actors explain this?

So...

So?

Tell me, Shen Miao.

Are you my buddy?

Of course, I am.

But...

There's no excuse, then.

I'm counting on you.

Let's go.

You lose again.

A bet is a bet.

I'll be at your disposal.

I want to ask this on behalf of Ninth Princess.

What exactly do you think about her?

You know me well.

I'm just a boor.

I don't even know what my parents' names are.

I don't deserve her.

Zhan Yue.

Let me finish.

If I promise her,

I'll certainly be responsible for her.

But marriage is a huge matter.

It's not that simple.

Her life is completely different from mine.

We're worlds apart.

How can we last long?

Are you going to keep doing this?

She liked you

on the spur of the moment.

I don't know if this is the same case.

I give her the cold shoulder

so that she'll

understand it in the future.

I think

you're blinded to the truth.

Don't be like me.

Cherish what you have before you lose it.

It's me, the waiter.

Come in.

The guest in the next room asked me to give you this invitation card.

Please be sure to meet her at the theater.

Miao invited me?

It's not for you.

It's for the man who has a sword.

Me?

Let's see.

You have such a handsome face.

After doing the make-up

and wearing the headdress,

you'll surely look more like a princess than I do.

I don't think this will work.

It's just my hobby.

I've never performed on stage before.

If I screw this up...

You're not the Shen Miao I know.

It's only been two years.

You've become so timid.

Even if I say yes,

Zhan Yue won't necessarily come.

Don't you worry.

I've written an invitation card in your name.

I'm sure he'll come.

You...

Well.

What are you afraid of?

Anyway, this is the only chance.

Shen Miao,

I believe in you.

For my sake,

you have to trust yourself.

Sure.

I'll give it a try.

Really?

That's great.

Well, then.

You stay here and get ready.

I'll take a look out there.

The pledge of love remains unfulfilled.

Pei Yanzhen,

what is this about?

Didn't I already tell you

that there's nothing between me and Shen Miao?

You and I are from the same academy.

We've been on the verge of death together.

How could I possibly doubt you?

You're acting strange.

That's what makes you suspicious.

Zhan Yue.

Your Highness.

Pei Yanzhen.

Why are you here?

You forged the invitation card, didn't you?

I've cleared my name now.

Otherwise,

you wouldn't have come.

There's a play dedicated to you.

I don't like this.

If there's nothing else,

His Highness and I are leaving as we have work to do.

Zhan... Zhan Yue.

Do we have work to do?

Why didn't I know this?

Your Highness,

I didn't treat you like this before.

What has it got to do with me?

I have poor eyesight.

I finally can listen to a play now.

Look at you.

Pei Yanzhen said you're free.

So just stay here.

If so,

I'll excuse...

Take a seat.

Sure.

I expect nothing much

from my husband.

There are only three requirements.

First off, no scholars.

Secondly, no politicians.

Thirdly, no unfaithful men.

Miao?

You can even tell this?

Miao is a noble lady,

not an actress.

Your Highness, you owe me an explanation

about this doing of yours.

Miaomiao likes to perform.

Zhan Yue,

get Miao down here.

No.

I specifically prepare this show.

Just pay attention to it.

Miao.

Pei Yanzhen.

Miao,

are you alright?

Miaomiao,

are you okay?

I'm fine.

Miao,

go back with me.

Pei Yanzhen,

when did you regain your vision?

I...

Not long ago.

It was...

It happened recently.

Recently?

How long has it been?

You must be pleased and enjoy seeing me

change your dressing,

travel with you,

and stand up

for you like a joke,

don't you?

You're indeed a habitual scammer

and an expert at scheming.

Don't you think it's such a waste for you

to deceive a simpleton like me?

It's my bad lying to you.

But I do love you wholeheartedly,

Miao.

I thought I'd made myself clear.

I hate liars.

If you show your love

in a deceptive manner,

I hereby ask

Your Highness to have mercy

and spare my life.

Shen Miao,

it's because he cares about you.

That's why...

So you mean

I should thank him, am I right?

Miaomiao.

What is this play?

It's quite interesting.

I know right.

He even flew around.

It's so exciting.

This is not a suitable place to talk.

Miaomiao,

let's talk at the back, okay?

Is it finished?

Continue.

Yes.

Continue. Why did she leave?

Yes.

Why did they leave?

Who did this?

Lackey Zhao,

did you do this?

Tie Niu,

what are you talking about?

Official Song,

what's wrong?

You locked the door, didn't you?

Official Song,

you've falsely accused me.

How would I dare to lock the door?

You and your master are hand in glove.

There's nothing you won't do.

Obviously,

Pei Yanzhen is afraid that I'll steal his thunder.

That's why he came out with this dirty trick.

Tie Niu,

you take care of Lackey Zhao.

I'll go to Miaomiao.

Sure.

Stop there.

How dare you get in the way.

Come over here.

I took him down, Master.

Run!

Let go of me.

Please, Master.

Tie Niu, let go of me.

- Didn't you lock the door? - Tie Niu.

Aren't you so capable?

Don't lock my arm.

How about this?

Let's have a fair match

and fight. Come on.

I'm not afraid.

Bring it on!

Miao, listen to me.

Why didn't you tell me earlier?

Miao.

You've regained your vision long ago.

Yet, you concealed it from me.

If it wasn't for the accident,

how much longer would you hide it from me?

After I fell at the mountain,

I started to regain my vision.

But Miao, I didn't mean to keep it from you.

I just didn't want this to get out.

You were worried I'd sell you out.

That's not what I meant.

Just stop making excuses.

Along the way,

Third Master Song has been reminding me.

But I made the same mistake.

I sided with you and trusted you.

And you?

You concealed the truth, lied,

used me and plotted against me.

You can never change

the behaviors I hate the most.

What about you?

Does Third Master Song

always matter more to you than me?

If I were cunning,

would it make him a broad-minded man?

If you met him first,

would I even have

a place in your heart?

Answer me.

You're right.

He has never hurt me before.

I only believe those who treat others sincerely.

Does the word "Might be annihilated"

really matter that much to you?

No matter what I do,

you'll never get over it, won't you?

Your Highness,

don't you think what you said is ridiculous?

It was you who lied to me again and again.

But now,

you blame me, the victim,

for not being broad-minded and tolerant.

Whatever Pei Yanzhen does,

it's always right, isn't it?

If you like me,

I'll have to tolerate and accept

everything you do.

Otherwise, it'd be my fault.

But you do have feelings for me.

I did.

But from now on,

I'll forget about you.

Pei Yanzhen,

let me go

and spare yourself.

Miao.

Get out of my way.

Pei Yanzhen,

you've tried everything

yet, you can't read one's mind.

You've put too much pressure on her.

Just look out for yourself.

What about you?

There's something I don't want to delve into.

It's to cut you some slack

before Miao.

Third Master Song,

Miao sincerely treats you like a friend.

If you say

everything I do is a scheme,

what

about your doings?

I don't understand

what you're talking about.

Was it

really an accident that Miao heard about the comprehensive plan

from the bird back then?

Tie Niu,

what are you?

You're such a big lump.

You're no match for me.

It's not too late to admit defeat now.

I excel in sword and rod techniques.

I certainly can't win you with bare hands.

What are you doing?

Very well.

Tie Niu.

This will do.

No.

Well, look.

Now you're unarmed.

If I win,

it'll be unfair.

How about this?

Let's not do it today.

I'll fight you after returning to the capital.

You talk too much.

Just wait for it.

No.

What are you doing?

You...

Will this do?

Tie Niu,

I've got to say this.

You're young.

Why are you so scheming?

The longer the weapon, the stronger it is.

Do you think I've never heard of it?

Fine.

Here.

You take this.

Will this do?

I...

I...

Bring it on.

You guys.

Manager,

big trouble.

Someone is making trouble.

Buddy.

I didn't mean to.

Get out.

Buddy.

Leave now.

You're not welcomed here.

What are you doing?

It's flimsy either.

Do you like that windmill?

I'll compensate you.

It doesn't help.

I can build one for you.
