[The Blood of Youth]

[Episode 1]

(Emperor Tianwu, Xiao Yi,)

(rose among civil unrest)

(and founded the Kingdom of Beili.)

(The kingdom prospered for two centuries,)

(and during the reign of Emperor Mingde,)

(it was so powerful that many nations came to pay tributes.)

(Emperor Mingde had a son)

(called Xiao Chuhe.)

(Ranked sixth among his brothers, he was a genius)

(and poised to be the Crown Prince.)

(Yet four years ago,)

(the younger brother of Emperor Mingde, Lord Langya,)

(was accused of treason and had to be beheaded.)

(In public, Xiao Chuhe defended Lord Langya,)

(to his father's dismay.)

(He was subsequently stripped of his title and exiled to Qingzhou.)

(The Crown Prince position remained vacant.)

(The other heirs fought among themselves,)

(and soon, chaos ensued)

(and peace was broken.)

(However, the exiled Xiao Chuhe)

(went missing)

(and no one has seen him for many years.)

[Hanshui Temple]

[Wangyou, Abbot of Hanshui Temple]

(Autumn of the 20th year of Emperor Mingde's reign,)

(Abbot Wangyou of Hanshui Temple passed away.)

(And so began)

(the Golden Coffin incident)

(that turned the martial arts world)

(upside down.)

[Snowfall Villa]

[Xiao Se]

Sir.

Look.

We have run this inn

for almost five years now.

Even the guest chamber cannot shield us from the wind.

Should we

spend some money

to repair this inn?

Perhaps...

And what do you know?

My inn

is all about the ambiance.

(Here, we have a mountain)

(behind us)

(and a river in front of us.)

(A slightly)

(run-down chamber)

(will make it look more atmospheric.)

That's what a wanderer

seeks.

What do they seek?

Needless to say,

they seek a journey.

A journey...

What does that mean?

Wait.

Is he selling

the inn?

This blizzard

has carried on for several months

and we have no customers at all.

Soon,

we won't even get paid anymore.

And once this inn is sold,

we are penniless and homeless,

are we going to sleep on the street then?

Come.

You're overthinking this.

Even if we hand this inn out

for free,

people will think it's too dilapidated.

Besides,

our boss's mind

cannot be understood by commoners

like us.

Look

at the heavy snow.

What we see

is a white blanket.

But he

can see the meaning behind it.

That's what you call a grand poet.

Look.

He's about to recite a poem now.

(The business is bad.)

(Should I sell it?)

We have a guest.

He can't even afford a cotton vest.

He doesn't look

like he has the money to pay for his stay.

Look closely.

The redness of his attire

is different.

For a fabric like this...

Unless you're a huge boutique

like the Yuxiu Boutique in Tianqi City,

a bolt of this fabric

will cost

your entire shop.

Welcome him now.

-Sure. -Sure.

Sir.

To eat or to stay?

This place it is.

[Lei Wujie]

(He)

(looks like trouble.)

(He has no manner whatsoever.)

(But judging from the way he dresses,)

(he must be from a prestigious family)

(and he ventured out to earn experience.)

(Which means he is rich.)

Sir.

What would you like?

(People like him love to show off.)

(Time to earn a fortune off him.)

One bowl of plain noodles

and one plain liquor, please.

Why?

Would you like to know about other dishes?

We have pork shoulders and peach blossom wine.

They are our signature dishes.

Pork shoulder?

One pork shoulder...

is too much.

Can you

put one slice

of it in the plain noodles?

Your plain noodles.

Your plain liquor.

Six copper coins, please.

Did you hear?

Someone is delivering a treasure

from Hanshui Temple

to Jiulong Sect.

I know.

Everyone is talking about it now.

Apparently, if you obtain the item,

you can rule the world.

What? I heard

it contains a powerful technique.

No way. I heard it's a beautiful lady.

Impossible.

A beautiful lady from Hanshui Temple?

Boss said that.

Come in, gentlemen.

Move aside.

(Another group)

(of impolite and poor customers.)

Sir.

Sir.

Serve us the best liquor

and the most expensive meat you have.

Sir, your noodles and liquor.

Enjoy.

What's the matter?

You...

Gentlemen.

Here,

you have to pay first before we can serve the dishes.

Therefore,

please specify how much meat

and liquor

you want.

Who are you?

I'm Xiao Se.

The owner of Snowfall Villa.

I don't have money.

But you

sure do.

Truth be told,

this inn has been

having no customers for a month.

I can hardly pay my workers now.

I don't care.

Even if you don't have the money,

your fur coat

is worth more than a hundred silver taels.

You're wrong.

An expensive steed

and a costly fur coat.

My coat

was made

by Yuxiu Boutique in Tianqi City.

It took three months to make it

and

another month to deliver it to me.

One hundred silver taels?

That's not even enough for my sleeves.

You...

So,

did you get my message now?

Two silver taels.

What two silver taels?

This table

costs two silver taels.

You...

I'm here to rob you.

Not to eat.

Give me the best liquor

and the best meat.

Then, hand me whatever is worthy.

Otherwise,

I'll kill your people

and burn your inn.

A robbery?

I have to intervene then.

Who are you?

Lei Wujie.

Lei Wujie?

That's right.

Who?

No idea.

Who is Lei Wujie?

Never heard of him.

Does he ring a bell?

I just started to travel the martial arts world,

so naturally, you don't

know my name.

However,

it's no matter.

Soon,

my name will...

Just a nameless brat.

Hit him!

The weaponless.

Jiangnan Thunderbolt Sect?

The Lei Clan?

I'm Lei Wujie

of the Lei family.

Kill him!

That was my Formless Fist.

Of course,

I have something

more impressive.

Do you know who I am now?

Get lost now.

Let's go.

Come on.

You're welcome.

I have to intervene.

It's my duty.

So no need to thank me.

I have to go now.

May we meet again.

No need to thank you?

You have to intervene?

Of course.

If it weren't for me,

those bandits

would have trashed your inn.

You might have lost your life too.

Shouldn't you thank me?

Look at my inn.

Is it not trashed already?

Well...

One hundred silver taels.

I don't have money.

But...

Either way,

I did save your life.

You're just...

Do I look like I need your help?

This technique...

One hundred silver taels.

I really don't have money.

You don't?

But I

will have money soon.

I just have to go to this place.

Then, I'll have money.

What place?

Xueyue City.

Xueyue City?

(Xueyue City.)

(The biggest city in the martial arts world.)

(It houses the alliance formed by several)

(prestigious clans.)

(Jiangnan Thunderbolt Sect)

(is one of them.)

(To reclaim what is mine,)

(I have to visit)

(that city too.)

(If he)

(is visiting the city too,)

(knowing his identity,)

(he can easily)

(procure 100 silver taels)

(for me.)

(And he)

(doesn't look like he's lying either.)

(Honestly,)

(he might know one powerful technique or two,)

(but he still looks like an idiot.)

Sure.

You're visiting Xueyue City.

And I'll go with you.

No problem.

Also,

as for the interest rate,

let's make it 500 silver taels.

Five hundred?

(I have stayed at this place for many years.)

(The meeting with those several city lords)

(is long overdue too.)

(Time to revisit what happened that year.)

The freshly fermented wine is sprinkled with green foam

while the red clay pot slowly burns.

A snowfall is impending.

Would you care to drink with me?

I like your proposition,

so I would gladly drink with you.

However, this horse carriage

will stay here.

Do you know

what it

contains?

Valuables.

You

are not wrong per se.

Enough.

Hand it over now.

Otherwise...

[Tang Lian, Xueyue City] You followed me

in this heavy snow.

I feel bad for you.

But your endeavor

is destined to fail.

I think

you should drink with me first

and...

Finger dagger.

Perhaps, your client

didn't tell you

who I am.

This payload

will not be intercepted

by the likes of you.

You're from the Tang Clan of Shu?

I wonder

what Master asked me to deliver.

It

has attracted so many powerful foes.

Who's there?

Tang Lian...

of Xueyue City.

You know my name.

We will meet again.

Stop right there.

What an eccentric person.

A white-haired man with a jade sword and exceptional qinggong techniques.

Master never told me

of such a person.

It snows so heavily.

When will it

stop?

Fortunately,

my horse is a fine steed.

Otherwise,

we will be buried under the snow.

Wait.

You keep telling me

how well your horse performs.

Are you a horse seller?

Cut the crap.

Go in and start a fire.

Pretentious.

Someone was here.

Great.

That's convenient.

I was worried that the firewood

would be too wet for it.

(Just two)

(ordinary travelers then?)

Hurry up.

Lei Wujie.

You said you would bring me to Xueyue City.

But you

have taken two wrong turns so far.

Are you sure we're heading in the right direction?

It's actually my first time

visiting Xueyue City.

But I swear

I got it right this time.

(His last name is Lei.)

(Is he)

(from the Lei family of Jiangnan Thunderbolt Sect?)

(But Lei Wujie...)

(I have never heard of him.)

Is dog your Chinese zodiac sign?

What are you sniffing?

Did you smell something?

What smell?

A floral scent.

It's baby rose.

Baby rose?

It doesn't bloom during winter.

It's a scent of baby rose dew.

Baby rose dew.

From Taziks,

Champa, and Java.

Only the Baihua Perfumery

in Tianqi City sells it.

You shouldn't find it here.

I didn't expect to come across

a man of fine taste in this secluded place.

I implored the owner of Baihua Perfumery for many days

before she sold it to me.

And you detected it right away.

It's breezy and chilly.

Do you want to come in?

No need.

This is...

[Death]

[Yueji] Yueji greets

and Minghou kills.

[Minghou]

That's right.

That's right!

What is right?

They

are Yueji and Minghou.

Ranked ninth in the League of Assassins.

The first eight places

are occupied by members of Dark River.

So they

are the strongest killer duo in the martial arts world at the moment.

In that case,

they just greeted us,

so are they going...

They are going to kill us.

Why are you so excited?

That was to greet

another friend inside.

However, our rule is

that whoever accepts the card will have to die.

So please

die here.

I accepted your card once,

but here I am.

May I know your name?

Tang Lian.

That's why we're here

to kill you.

Tang Lian?

You're Tang Lian?

The most outstanding disciple of Xueyue City?

In that case,

you're my eldest martial brother.

I'm Lei Wujie.

From the Lei Fortress

of Jiangnan Thunderbolt Sect.

I'm also a disciple.

Careful.

Minghou is reticent.

He hates blabbermouth.

Such a huge blade.

You're injured.

And your Baixiang poison

hasn't been treated either.

Otherwise, the slash from just now...

You won't be able

to take the next hit.

Then I will.

My martial brother protected me once.

So it's my turn now.

You

serve Xueyue City too?

Then I can kill you too.

However, Minghou's claymore isn't for everyone,

so have a taste of my sword first.

Belt Sword?

They have matching

weapons.

Belt Sword

and the Golden Claymore.

Not many can see

these two weapons in one night.

Watch closely now, young man.

They say the Jiangnan Thunderbolt Sect

has the best firearms.

But your inner force

is not too shabby either.

You could catch my sword

with your bare hands.

I have seen your sword,

but you haven't seen

my fist.

The Formless First of the Lei Clan.

The pressure wave arrives before the fist does.

He

is strong.

Lunar Thrust, Shadow Disguise.

They are strong techniques for assassination.

But what good are they

if they can't

eliminate the target?

I lost.

You won

just now.

You must be joking.

For an assassin, there's no winning or losing,

only living and dying.

I just entered the martial arts world

and I could fight an opponent like you.

How lucky am I?

This is...

Fire Infusion from the Lei family.

(No wonder his hair turns red.)

Yueji.

Let's go.

You're leaving already?

How odd.

They had the upper hand.

Why did they leave?

If you charge at any attack thrown at you,

you won't have

enough lives to live.

You can fight too.

Why didn't you help me?

When did I say

I could fight?

But

you waved your hand

in your inn

and all windows and doors shut on their own.

Idiot.

Other than martial arts,

there's also something called a mechanism.

Do I look like I need your help?

What?

Mister.

Did you hide something

in the backyard?

Someone snuck in there.

I think Minghou and Yueji

knew they were being

used as bait.

Let's go.

Why?

Aren't we going to Xueyue City?

The First Disciple of Xueyue City

is in front of us.

I'd rather follow him

than your lousy lead.

Right.

Only cowards

would pull a dirty trick like this.

I beg your pardon, Tang Lian?

Who is a coward here?

Protect my eldest martial brother!

Qianluo.

Does Third Master know you're here?

Don't tell me you snuck out.

Of course not.

I'm on an adventure now,

and I merely passed by here.

What is happening?

She snuck out.

I have a task at hand.

I will write to Third Master and ask him

to bring you back.

[Sikong Qianluo] How dare you, Tang Lian.

Lian.

Fine.

We will settle this in the future.

Tang Lian.

Just you wait!

She is...?

Sikong Qianluo.

Sikong.

The daughter

of the Spear Deity, Sikong Changfeng?

Yes, she's my Third Master's daughter.

Also the Young Lady of Xueyue City.

What a surprise.

Qianluo...

went overboard this time.

What are you doing?

The sound doesn't lie.

It's pure gold.

Pure gold?

So?

It's worth a lot of money.

We just met

and you would trust us already?

I don't trust you.

I trust him.

Well,

we share the same opinion.

He

has the techniques

but not the brain.

He is incapable

of lying.

And you?

Me?

I gave you my two best

Yebei Steed

to pull the carriage.

Is that not enough?

Martial Brother.

Ignore him.

He's just a horse merchant.

He keeps saying

how good his horses are

and nothing else.

Lei.

You're not one of the disciples.

So please refrain

from using

martial brother

to call me.

Sure, Martial Brother.

So you don't know

what the coffin contains?

Master didn't tell me.

He just told me to escort it

to Jiulong Sect of Biluo City.

Besides,

he also told me...

Told you what?

Do not ever

open this coffin.

Now,

you make me

all curious.

Don't be.

I have run into

more than ten groups of assassins.

Many people

are coveting its content.

Possessing it

brings misfortune.

So your wounds

came from those people.

(No, from Yueji and Minghou.)

(Others)

(are just...)

I have heard

the rumor

of the Golden Coffin.

What have you heard?

Don't look at me like that.

The rumor

is already spreading.

There are all sorts of rumors.

But in general,

someone is delivering the Golden Coffin

from Hanshui Temple to the border.

The coffin contains

boundless valuables

and powerful martial arts

to rule the world.

Do you believe it?

I didn't.

But when I see

the First Disciple of Xueyue City,

Tang Lian, escorting

the Golden Coffin...

So what?

To circulate

this rumor widely,

someone

has to make an effort.

Assassins like Minghou and Yueji

can't

achieve that.

I'm sure you also heard

that several months ago,

Abbot Wangyou of Hanshui Temple passed away.

I bet his body

is in the coffin.

But why do so many people

want it?

Who exactly are you?

I'm just

an innkeeper

who knows many things.

So where are we going?

Jiulong Sect?

Belle's Manor of Three-Gaze City.

Three gazes.

The first gaze makes the city fall for the beauty.

The second gaze brings the nation to its knee.

The third gaze steals my heart.

To go to Biluo City, we will definitely pass by

Three-Gaze City.

Many merchants

pass by here every year,

many of which

are huge gamblers.

Belle's Manor

is the biggest gambling den in the city.

[Belle's Manor]

It is a brothel

and one of the few

gambling houses...

In Beili.

Unfortunately,

Lei Wujie

is on guard duty now.

Otherwise, we should bring him here

to show him the real world.

Belle's Manor is the biggest brothel

in Three-Gaze City.

Its patrons

are the rich among the rich.

They gamble with

astronomical figures that normal chips won't cut it.

Therefore, they gamble

in pearl boxes.

We're already here anyway.

Should we have a round?

I don't have money.

Really?

We

have a pure gold coffin.

Hush.

I'm warning you.

Don't ever think about that.

I'm here

to seek my liaison.

So avoid unnecessary attention.

It's Fairy Rui!

[Fairy Rui, Belle's Manor]

Isn't this Lian?

Didn't you say

we should avoid unnecessary attention?

But look,

all eyes

are on us.

Rui.

Lian.

It's been 16 months

and 7 days

since your last visit.

How cold-hearted of you.

Rui

and Lian.

It sounds

like an old couple.

A dashing lad, you are.

I heard

you said you wanted a round.

And tonight,

there's a rare game going on here.

Do you want to play?

I don't have money.

No.

You have money.

How do you know, miss?

A commoner

will gawk

in a huge gambling house like this one

and will fawn

over a beauty like me.

But you

look so disinterested.

As if the overwhelming beauty

and riches here

are nothing

but common occurrences to you.

So,

aren't you rich?

Rui.

We don't have time for this.

Your liaison has not arrived,

but everything is ready.

Be careful.

Many top assassins

visit Three-Gaze City

for

the item.

Some of them

can be quite tricky to handle.

Mister, do you still fancy a game?

I own an inn

called Snowfall.

It's worth 10 pearl boxes.

Miss,

would you lend me them then?

Sure.

This gentleman

has reserved the entire Belle's Manor tonight.

If you want to gamble, you stay.

If you don't want to gamble, please leave.

You must be joking, Fairy Rui.

Two pearl boxes

are enough to reserve the entire manor?

He looks

like a first-timer,

so he doesn't know the rules here.

But not you too, Fairy Rui.

You think so?

What mistake did I commit?

Come on.

It's all a scare tactic.

Why did I do that?

Because I want

everyone here to know

that the stake for this round

isn't just money.

You mean...

Life too?

Yes.

Gambling with your life...

What does she mean?

I'm sure you can guess it already.

The loser will lose money

and his life.

When did I

agree to that?

I know

you're protecting

your beau here.

But you should know

that this manor

won't be enough.

It's you.

We meet again,

Tang Lian.

But she is right.

If you want to play, you stay.

If not,

you leave.

Let's go now.

Hand over it now.

Now!

Interesting.

They

[Lu Yuzhai, Wushuang City] don't even know

what the Golden Coffin contains.

Hand it out now.

And they just have to meddle in this.

Hurry up now!

So much noise.
