Does it hurt?

How can it not hurt when it's an open wound?

I heard you didn't make a single sound

when you changed the dressing at the hospital.

That was

because you always said

you were not afraid of pain.

Look

at your dad's muscles,

arms, and his...

Besides,

I have to endure such pain

as your boyfriend.

But getting stitches without anesthetic is excruciating.

Even if you scream in pain, no one will laugh at you.

No way.

They know I'm your boyfriend.

Moreover,

I have to fight against the pain for the sake of Captain Hong.

Ouch! It hurts.

I'll be gentle.

I'm done.

It doesn't hurt anymore, right?

You need to rest early these two days

to help heal your wound.

Be good. I'm leaving now.

Actually,

I'm not that tired, anyway.

What are you doing?

Guess.

But what about the wound on your back?

Hong Xingxing!

Hong Xingxing!

Hong Xingxing!

Dad,

what are you doing here?

Runshi

has never done anything against our conscience.

The scandal over the fake drug

was a plot set up by others.

As for

these official case files,

it was Wei Lan

who went abroad to find them in person.

Do you

believe us now?

That bag of cash

was not a bribe

but a donation to the local school.

I don't care about my reputation.

But my company is clean.

So that was what happened at the time.

Now the misunderstanding

between these two kids

has been resolved.

But

you had to retire because of your injury.

The Wei family

feels guilty about it.

That's not what I want to hear.

I'm not mad about this matter, either.

I'm mad at your son.

My daughter has been a simple

and obedient girl

since she was young.

Now

your son took her away

to spend the night with him.

She didn't go home all night.

Dad,

I'm already an adult.

I'll be responsible for my behavior.

Besides, it was the first time I spent the night out.

You didn't have to come here to condemn him.

Lei was right.

My daughter is a flower that a pig picked off

after I raised it for many years.

Excuse me, Dad.

I'm not a flower,

and Wei Lan is not a pig, either.

We are in love

with each other.

Lei was right.

When a daughter grows up,

she will not be partial to her father.

Wei Lan.

Mr. Hong, don't worry.

I decided long ago that Xingxing would be my beloved one.

So I'll definitely marry her.

But sure,

that depends if you agree to our marriage.

Don't poke me.

Are you trying to get cute now?

How can I say no

when everything has already happened?

Thanks, Dad!

Thank you, Dad.

I love you, Dad.

That sounded natural.

That's more intimate than greeting me.

All right.

Soon,

we'll

be a family.

Here.

Dad!

Mr. Wei!

Don't move.

Send him to the hospital quickly!

Hurry!

Dad!

When did you know he had cancer?

It's been a year and a half

since he was diagnosed.

A year and a half?

So

this is the reason he introduced the QW1 project.

I had no idea about that

and constantly quarreled with him.

If I didn't insist on reducing costs

with the structural pharmaceutical method,

I would not delay the clinical experiment of QW1.

It was my fault that he ended up like this.

Don't blame yourself.

Your father insisted on not telling you

because he was afraid

his illness

would give you pressure.

He was concerned about me

but I thought he was lying.

I even quarreled with him all the time.

He must be disappointed in me.

No,

he was never disappointed in you.

He once told me

the proudest thing he had done in his life

was not establishing Runshi

or promoting

the development of new drugs in the QW1 project

but

having such an outstanding son as you.

It's the only thing

he's proud of

in his life.

Did the doctor say

how much time he has left?

Cancer

has spread from his lungs to his liver.

It's the third stage.

Sir.

Dad.

Dad.

Wei Lan.

[Delta Health]

Has Mr. Kang told you about my cancer?

Dad,

I'll run the clinical testing on QW1 as soon as possible.

I'm sure

you will heal.

I introduced the QW1 with two purposes.

The first reason is to save my life.

The second reason

is to bring you back

to my side.

So I can see you

take over the company,

get married,

and live your life.

I'd be happy

if I achieved one of them.

Dad,

you'll achieve both.

I'm aware of my condition.

Wei Lan,

You and Zhou Yilin

must develop the drugs

and promote them

to cure more patients like me.

That would be a limitless grace.

Dad,

stop planning for the future.

Let's focus on the present,

okay?

Okay.

Ok.

By the way,

there's another matter

about the Malaysian company

Wonder Group.

Back then,

the people at that company were coveting the QW1 project.

There was a time

when they stopped taking action.

But now, the development of medicine is nearing its completion.

I'm worried

they'll take action.

An old man like me

can no longer help you guys.

Let me help you.

Wei Lan.

Wei Lan, sit.

Wei Lan,

you must be alert

and do your best to hang on to QW1.

If you lose it,

don't fight for it.

Nothing is more important than life.

Dad, I'm home!

Xingxing,

you're back.

Dad,

look who's here.

You're not married yet,

but you've brought him into the house.

Dad, put down the cleaver.

Oh, I'm sorry about that.

How's your dad?

He still needs some medical checkups.

He's stable now.

I'm glad to hear that.

What is this?

Dad,

does it look familiar to you?

Isn't it that gift from the benefits association?

Was it you who arranged everything?

Not bad, kid.

Did you like Xingxing from the very beginning?

You even put on a big show

to give me this for free.

You're very thoughtful.

Dad,

Wei Lan specially asked an expert

to adjust it for you.

It's more flexible and faster now.

That's great.

My dear son-in-law,

come inside.

Don't just stand there. Come in.

Did you just call me?

Of course, I was calling you.

Didn't you say it has been upgraded

and adjusted?

You have to teach me how to use it.

Come inside.

Go.

Dad, let me teach you how to use it.

That's our statement

regarding the conflict with the AK factory

between our branch company at the border last November.

If any media continue to defame us

by distorting the truth,

we'll take the necessary legal actions

to protect our rights.

-Mr. Wei. -Mr. Wei.

Please wait.

-Don't go, Mr. Wei! -Don't leave.

The development of QW1 is almost over.

This is also our last chance.

Even Gao Song has been arrested now.

I can only leave it to you.

Think about your daughter.

I don't want

any failure in this operation.

Please do your best.

The matter has been resolved.

But I don't know

why I keep feeling uneasy.

Stop eating.

You keep eating when something is troubling you.

Can't you see you've gained weight?

Have I?

What's wrong?

Nothing. I'm feeling nauseated.

Are you okay? Here.

Have some water.

Hurry.

Keep it first

and test it at home.

Just follow the instruction and do the test.

Okay.

By the way,

don't let your dad find out about it.

Or else there will be bloodshed.

It's not that serious.

Have you forgotten

you told me

that he barged into Wei Lan's house and condemned him?

It took a long time for him to accept your relationship.

You can't break his spirit again.

Should I tell Wei Lan about it?

You should test for the result first.

If you're not pregnant, then it's a false alarm.

So you don't have to tell him.

If you're pregnant,

show him this receipt

and tell him to be responsible.

Then?

Then...

Then I will take you

to the wedding register office immediately,

and you will apply for your marriage license.

After that, you can take care of yourself at home

until you give birth to a chubby son.

A daughter will also be great.

But there's one thing that you must do.

I want to be the baby's godmother.

You're overthinking this.

It's too early to have a baby.

I'll wait for your good news.

Is Ling Ting going back to school soon?

What do you plan to do?

I don't know.

I haven't decided yet.

But I want him to stay.

Is that too selfish of me?

He'll be abroad for two years.

There are 12 hours of the time difference

and a distance of tens of thousands of kilometers away.

Maybe

he will stop liking me as time passes,

or he will like someone else.

There are too many uncertain factors.

I don't have the confidence to face it.

I think

you should meet and talk to him about that.

I...

Meixi,

did you call me out so late

because you had something to say?

It's nothing.

Ling Ting,

have you finished eating?

If you're done eating, I'll make the payment.

[HCG Pregnancy Test Strips Kit]

Pregnant?

Hello, Xingxing.

Ling Ting,

I want to ask your opinion on something.

Are you free now?

Yeah, what is it?

Generally speaking,

how would a man react

when he finds out his girlfriend

is pregnant by accident?

Pregnant by accident?

How long have they been together?

Not too long.

Just a few months.

I want you to tell me

from a guy's perspective.

Would he feel happy to be a father,

or would he escape

because he felt a great responsibility?

Hello?

Ling Ting, are you listening?

I understand, Xingxing.

I think he'll take responsibility.

Thanks.

Why did he thank me?

What did he mean by he understood?

I can only test it tomorrow morning.

(Meixi!)

(Meixi!)

Meixi.

What is it?

I think

someone is calling your name.

I'm watching a Korean TV show.

They're shouting a name that sounds similar to mine.

(Sun Meixi!)

(Sun Meixi!)

Sun Meixi!

Sun Meixi!

Sun...

What are you doing?

You'll disturb the neighbor if you continue to shout like that.

I've decided

not to leave.

I want to stay by your side.

I've already applied for a temporary absence from school

to keep working at Runshi.

I've discussed my studies

with my parents, too.

So don't worry.

I'll fulfill all the promises I made to you.

We'll never be apart forever.

You're going to quit school?

Aren't you going to complete your studies?

It's only a graduation certificate.

Don't do anything stupid.

Don't jeopardize your future career.

With my capabilities,

it will be fine for me to support the three of us.

The three of us?

Our baby.

Baby?

You don't have to hide it from me anymore.

I may be young.

But I'm not

an irresponsible man.

This receipt

isn't mine.

Okay.

Let's rehearse the proposal you're going to make tomorrow.

At 8:30 a.m. tomorrow,

you'll appear in front of Hong Xingxing's house

in a suit, looking manly.

Hong Xingxing will wear the dress you gave her,

looking gorgeous, gentle,

and shy.

I'm here to pick you up,

my princess.

Let's go, baby.

That doesn't sound right.

Don't mind those details.

After that, you'll drive Hong Xingxing

in a car

on an endless highway.

You'll take her past the places

representing your beautiful memories,

like the hospital entrance,

the Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Clinic,

and the private ward.

Why are those places at the hospital?

In the end,

you'll arrive at an amusement park.

You will spend a considerable amount of money to reserve the amusement...

Stop.

Don't you think it's too common to reserve the amusement park?

Xingxing is not an ordinary woman.

So what do you want to do, Mr. Wei?

How

about changing it

to a field training base?

That's a good idea.

It's a marriage proposal.

How will you execute your fantastic proposal

if you crawl in the mud all day?

Then let's choose the amusement park.

If she has seen little of the world,

you can show her the colors of the world.

If she has gone through the vicissitudes of life,

you can take her on the merry-go-round.

After she gets off the merry-go-round,

she will suddenly find out you're missing.

Then she will start searching for you everywhere

and calling your name.

Lan! Lan! Where are you?

After that,

you will suddenly appear

and cover her eyes from behind,

saying in a low voice:

"Marry me."

It's perfect!

Stop.

There are two loopholes

in that part.

Firstly,

Xingxing prefers the roller coaster

to the merry-go-round.

You'll throw up after riding a roller coaster.

The second loophole is

if I try to cover her eyes from behind...

She'll probably

do a Shoulder Throw.

Keep thinking.

Keep thinking.

What are you thinking about?

I'm leaving the day after tomorrow.

Why aren't you asking me to stay?
