Well, hello, my friend.

So, guys, in this lesson, we're going to learn about servers.

So I want to get started because, hey, what else are we going to do?

No, I'm really excited about this stuff because they've really, really, really come a long way.

In fact, a lot of people have servers in their houses now.

So servers are indeed advanced, and they are durable computers, and they're actually designed to work

uninterruptedly so that they are always accessible, protected in data centers with extensive security

generators and cooling systems.

And that's how we have 24-7 internet connection, by the way.

Now, although there are many different types, the most well-known servers are Web servers, and those

are the ones that store the content of the websites and enable the sites to be published by serving

this content out to the internet users and internet land.

So servers are actually digital systems where software and programs are installed and run, allowing

multiple users to share data.

More powerful than your average normal personal computer servers are configured to manage multiple tasks

simultaneously and way faster.

All right, so how does this system work then?

Well, compared to your personal computer, servers have more memory, more multiple network connections,

multiple hard drives and multiple CPU's.

So for this reason, they can enable thousands or even millions of people to view the codes that create

a web page in a very short period of time or even a short amount of time.

So let me break it down for you a little bit more.

A web server needs an IP address.

That way, it will be accessed by users outside of its network.

So each Web site also has an IP address, and this IP address is a combination of four numbers between

zero and 255.

And these numbers correspond to the domain name or domain address of the site, such as an example would

be two five five Dot two one one two two Dot one two three.

But that's just the numbers.

DNS, the domain name system.

This is the system that connects internet users and websites with their IP addresses.

Converts the site address typed into the address bar of a browser.

Into the corresponding IP address.

So it goes like this DNS and IP systems content requested by a user clicking a link, it transmits it

from the server where it is stored to the user's computer.

So in other words, the content of the web, such as text and images and videos, which is well, what

the user wants to be displayed, is presented and served.

To the visitor by the server.

All right.

So for this process, there is special software such as in Gen-X and Apache.

These have to be installed on servers that will analyze the request and then display the relevant documents

in the visitor's browser.
