[Episode 16]

Mr. Wei Senior, don't worry.

I'm following him.

Buddies,

we'll drink until we drop

when we reach my home later.

Third Brother,

don't play dirty after you get drunk, okay?

I didn't.

-You did. -Goodness.

You wasted my ice cream.

Were you blind?

Didn't you watch where you were going?

I'm in a terrible mood today.

So don't cross me.

He's in a bad mood today.

I'll cross you for sure!

Boss!

Boss!

Beat him up!

Xingxing.

Let's go!

What are you doing?

I'm defending you.

How could a girlfriend defend her boyfriend?

I'm more than just your girlfriend.

I'm your coach as well.

Why are you standing there? Fight them!

Yes, Coach.

Your hair looks terrible.

Yours isn't any better than mine.

There's mud all over your face.

There's dust all over your nose.

Have you

been following me all along?

That's right.

Why did I have no idea?

I would've joined the special forces for nothing

if you could detect me so easily.

Xingxing,

I wish to bring you somewhere.

Where are we?

It's a secret base.

What do you think?

My secret base is pretty nice, right?

It has fresh air and an open view.

Do you come here often?

I came here often when I was young.

Back then, whenever I was in a bad mood,

I would come here with some snacks

and beverages.

People could stay here back then.

It's just that it doesn't have a roof.

You've got the furniture

and facilities.

We can stargaze here.

It's nice.

I'm sorry

for today.

Sorry for what?

Sorry for letting you witness that scene in my house.

That's nothing.

It's common for parents

to argue with their children.

Just like my father and me.

Although we're close,

we do argue occasionally.

There's a huge age gap between us after all.

There's a generation gap.

From other people's perspectives, my father

is a man-child who has a mild temper,

a generous heart, and a tummy full of jokes.

But for some reason,

whenever we see each other,

we'll definitely argue.

If so,

have you ever come up with a solution?

I have.

But I think I should achieve my dream first.

Maybe the situation

will be resolved by then.

Your dream?

Are you referring to...

I hope that the company can grow stronger

under my leadership.

I hope my performance

can surpass his.

I want him to acknowledge me

from the bottom of his heart.

I have faith in you.

You can do it.

I wonder what the young Wei Lan wanted to be

when he gazed upon the stars.

I wanted to be Superman back then.

What is so funny?

I'm laughing because you had the same dream as me.

To defeat evil,

uphold justice,

and become Superman!

That's right.

Do you still have the same dream?

Yeah.

I still wish to be Superman.

You wish to save the earth as Superman?

I'm not that noble.

To me,

Earth is too huge.

It's too huge of a burden.

It's just like when I was in the army.

I've executed missions in many foreign cities.

I've fought in many countries.

I felt

an unreal zeal.

Sometimes, I truly thought

that I was saving Earth.

Until one time,

my father

lost his arm

to protect me.

At that moment, I felt

that I wasn't as strong

as I thought.

I couldn't even protect my loved ones.

That's not your fault.

You're already good enough.

That's why I want to protect you.

I don't want to become the golden canary in the cage

after becoming your girlfriend.

I don't want to just sing for you in the cage.

I understand.

That's not who you are.

I wish to fight together with you.

I wish

that justice can be maintained

in places where I can monitor.

I wish that all of my friends and family

can lead a happy life.

And

I want to protect our home.

That's my dream.

That's just as difficult

as saving Earth itself.

Yeah, it's tough.

But you're lucky.

I'll tell you a secret.

The person you're looking at, the smart, hardworking,

more importantly,

the handsome boyfriend of yours,

he's Superman too.

In the future, no matter what kind of difficulties we face,

no matter where you wish to go,

be it the glaciers, the ocean,

or

no matter if you wish to save or destroy Earth,

he will always stay by your side.

He will always

be there for you.

Wait!

Wei Lan,

you can make deliveries.

Make deliveries?

Wait.

Runshi Group isn't that run down yet.

That's not what I mean.

If we can order food deliveries,

why can't we make medicine deliveries?

We have an online sales department.

However,

the sales performance wasn't great.

Which delivery company are you guys using?

It's just some ordinary logistics company.

Oh, yeah.

It takes one or two days to deliver a parcel to the receiver in the same city.

The sales performance will surely be affected.

What we need to do

is to build a concentrated delivery station

or engage

a mature delivery station.

We can cooperate with food delivery platforms.

This way, we can

seize the market opportunity.

Once we clinch a deal with one of the platforms,

we don't need to worry about

the stockpile we have.

you're my lucky star indeed.

Instant delivery of medicine.

First,

we need to clinch a deal

with two food delivery platforms.

Our goal is to resolve

the issue of excess stock of OTC drugs,

calm public opinion,

and earn back our capital.

Of course,

if we can come up with a plan like this,

naturally,

other people can come up with it too.

Moreover,

there are many spies from other companies

Of course,

these two platforms

aren't our final goal.

Our goal is to engage a new platform

that targets young consumers.

Once the contract is signed,

we'll announce it to the public immediately.

Not only can it clear up

the misunderstanding the media has of us,

but it can also help us get publicity for the QW1 bid.

Let's sign the contract

at 10 AM tomorrow.

Those are the two platforms, right?

Alright, I will relay the message to Mr. An.

Uncle,

Wei Lan has decided on two platforms

is done.

Yes, Uncle.

We're going to sign the letter of intent.

What?

There's another one?

And Wei Lan is already on his way there?

Yesterday, he announced the strategic cooperation

People started paying attention to Runshi because of that.

He killed

two birds with one stone.

That kid made the right move.

So, what's the result?

Did An's Jiale Pharmaceutical win the bid?

Sir,

you should take a look yourself.

(The leading pharmaceutical group in the industry, Runshi Group,)

(has held a project bid for the key project in the next five years, QW1,)

(at the International Exhibition Center.)

(Jiale Group)

(was originally the favorite to win the bid.)

(However, due to an unclear equity structure)

(of the company,)

(they've lost the right to place the bid)

(after the final assessment.)

(In the end, Kaibeili Pharmaceutical, a new company, won the bid.)

Rumor has it

that someone signed the paper on An's behalf

and transferred away some of the equities,

causing them to lose the right to place a bid.

An beat up

his assistant on the scene.

It was a terrible sight to behold.

I can imagine An doing that.

Uncle!

When you retired from the army,

I awaited your return.

I wanted to become strong

so that I could protect you

and take care of you.

If so, why didn't you confess to me

in the past 15 years?

Why did you choose to confess to me now?

You said you like me ever since I became

Wei Lan's assistant.

You only wrote a confession letter to me

when Wei Lan and I became a couple.

It's all because of Wei Lan.

He just met you not long ago.

He doesn't know you at all.

How can you care about him that much?

You're afraid that Wei Lan will steal me from you.

You're afraid that the person beside you

will no longer be me.

That's why you wanted to keep me here.

Even in friendship, people get possessive.

Even when it's about your family, people can still get jealous.

You're afraid that Wei Lan might replace you.

But do you know something?

I do care about

the 15 years we had spent together.

When I was young,

you jogged with me and went to the gym with me.

When I was in class,

you skipped class together with me and went out to buy snacks.

After I finished bullying people,

you received punishment together with me.

When you were bullied,

you would come to me immediately.

We grew up together.

And we've experienced a lot together.

Wei Lan will never be able to take that away from us.

No one can take that away from us.

However,

that isn't love.

Tell me then.

What is love?

When you meet someone you like,

sometimes,

you think she's extremely annoying.

Sometimes,

you think she's cute.

Sometimes, you want to protect him.

(Sometimes, you want to pick on her.)

(Happiness isn't the only thing you feel when you're together with her.)

(There will be arguments,)

(conflicts,)

(and you two might even hurt each other.)

(Sometimes,)

(you will get ahead of yourself)

(and become someone else.)

However,

after all that, you still wish to be with her.

I assume you had a person in mind

when you listened to me just now.

That person isn't me,

right?

That person should be

the person you tried to avoid

by taking a one-week leave.

Am I right?

She's sad too.

She's also worried about you.

So,

you should think carefully,

silly boy.

Although we've chosen to work

with Kaibeili,

I still think we don't know each other well enough.

Why don't I invite

their project manager to join the ride?

She and I

can have a proper and nice conversation.

It's for cooperation's sake.

I told you

to abuse your power behind my back.

But look at what you're doing right now.

I won't allow you to humiliate

my loyalty to the company.

Do you think I, Zhou Yilin, am someone

who will give up on the company's benefit because of her?

Yes!

That's prejudice.

You're prejudiced against me.
