Attention At ease

I came to test the new rifles

Come to the firing, Sir

Open it

Yes, sir

Marshal, these 3,000 rifles

are long-range and quickloading

and are very powerful

With these rifles

The 3rd Division will be invincible

The enemy will fall in a few days

The enemy will fall in a few days

and you will be in full control

Sir, the 3rd Division

must move as soon as possible

Dispatch all the trains

to transport those troops

to transport those troops

I'm dying of hunger

And I can't sleep for the noise

Nothing's right, damn it

What are you doing?

What about it?

It's Brother Meng

You must be hungry

Do I have to live on these?

Brother Meng

Brother Meng

Brother Meng

Gentlemen

You have an easy time

living off the people. Lend me some of it

Sir, do you know them?

They're drunk

I've asked everywhere

but nobody seems to know them

Continue asking around

Remember, my name is Meng Kang

Everyone in town knows me

but you turned out to be blind

I'm looking for Meng Kang

I wonder where I'd find him

That depends on whether he has money

Yes, plenty

Happy days

You're happy that he has money?

Why?

Whenever he's loaded

he spends it freely

especially to the poor people

especially to the poor people

Thats right

I see

If he's broke, he stays in the woods

If he's broke, he stays in the woods

and just sleeps

If he's really loaded

He'd be at Phoenix Square

Phoenix Square?

It's full of bordellos

Please come again

Is brother Meng in?

You...

He asked me to come

You're his friend

Come in, Come in

He's in the main hall

He's in the main hall

Please

Let's have a kiss, come on

The money wasn't marked

but the other things are hot

but the other things are hot

Go inside

Let's go

I thought nobody knew

but you spotted me

Don't pull weapons. If you kill anyone here

how will you get away?

How much do you want?

Then what do you want with me?

I have a job for you

Big or small?

Big, in fact, never done before

Let's hear it

This is no place to talk. Come

As soon as I step out

your men will be waiting

Is that it

You're a redblooded man of action

You're a redblooded man of action

that's why I came to you

Don't you trust anyone?

Since you put it that way

I'm willing to be friends

You want to leave

Thank

The garrison commander is here

Step back

Come on

Who was that poxed fellow?

Liu... He's in charge of munitions

Damn

His post is worth a fortune

This is where you live

Yes. People like us

have no use for a home

These...

I'm not responsible

When brother Yieh itches for a fight

the furniture takes the punishment

Look at the holes in the wall

He does that for exercise

Luckily, he didn't bring the house down

You're not so bad yourself

So there's a brother Yieh

You

Come

What's this big job you mentioned?

I won't rob the poor

My target is Marshal Chin

Fine

I want to deprive him

of 3,000 new rifles

and 280,000 rounds of ammunition

What for?

They won't fill our bellies

and we can't dispose of them

I come from the south

I'm soldier

A revolutionary

I see

Once the 3rd Division gets the rifles

we wouldn't have a chance

But if we had the rifles

it would be different. Do you see?

We must wipe out the warlords and unite the country

to restore peace to the people

I've heard about it

A good friend of mine

gave up his life of teaching to join the revolution

Damn It's a capital crime

It's a capital crime

Yes. If you won't do it. Forget I ever mentioned it

Who said I wouldn't do it?

Right We'll need more men

Brother Yieh is available

Where is he?

Probably gambling somewhere

Win your fortune here

Brother Yieh, even if you crush it

A dead hand is a dead hand

What? Call this a dead hand?

Damn you to hell

You're holding a dead hand

Damn you, Yieh

Keep your hands off me

I won't bring you luck

Don't take it hard, Pepper

Only Pepper can handle Yieh

If it's a fight, I'm more than eager

Good

Brother Yieh, you know you lost

Why did you grab the stakes?

Just this once

Brother Yieh

Stop it

I said, stop it

Brother Yieh

Just in time. Come on

Not today. I want words with you

Consider yourselves lucky

This...

Meng Kang

Don't you dare leave

All right

But I've something important to do

See you

Damn you, Meng

Go hide in your hole

just don't let me find you

Who was that girl?

Who was that girl?

You must be new around here

not to know her

She's the devils sister

and the king of hell's cousin

Brother Meng is no coward

but as soon as he saw her

he sure backed out fast

She's nicknamed Pepper

Nobody dares to rile her

Her name's Hung Yin Feng

It's not that I'm afraid of her

I don't want her to know about this

About what?

Brother Wan here is a revolutionary

We're going to get arms for him

Thats simple

I'm not bragging

but 10 guns I can easily get

Rifles or pistols

Maybe 3 or 4 automatic loaders

Well? Not enough?

Not near it.

3,000 rifles

and 280,000 rounds of ammunition

You're a lunatic

No, we're after the arms

in the munitions dump

I know

But do you know their security?

We must use guile, not force

We'll work on Commander Liu

We'll work on Commander Liu

I've arranged with friends on the railway

to leave behind an engine

They'll say it needs repairs

Once we get the rifles to the station

half the job will have been done

Can you get hold of two trucks?

Well...

Well? Cat got your tongues?

Listen, I have trucks

She... She's...

Her father is head of antismuggling

Every new officer pays homage to him

Every new officer pays homage to him

Miss Hung, you're mistaken

We were only joking just now

Joking I understand

You're afraid I'll rat on you

If there's anything I can be sure of

it's that she won't sell us out

She's one of our girls

Meng Kang, damn you

What did you just say?

Sorry, my mistake

I meant you're one of us

Thats better

3,000 rifles at just $10 each

come to $30,000

Divided among the four of us

that's $7,500 each

I won't do it for a penny less

I won't do it for a penny less

Pepper, even if we succeed this time

we'll be doing it for nothing

The arms are for the revolution

Afterwards, they'll be worth money

Every time my father goes off with his men

they return carting chests of money

The revolutionary army isn't like that

You wouldn't understand

Don't talk out of turn

No, no

Now that I know, I want in

Now that I know, I want in

That won't do

Then I'll tell my father

Brother Wan, Pepper and Meng...

Brother Wan, Pepper and Meng...

Yieh, I'll tan your hide

Never mind

Just don't tell anyone else

I can still leave town

Wait Why are you going?

We're willing to risk our lives

and you won't believe us

Only your life is worth something

I volunteered for this mission

knowing I'd never return alive

With Pepper here

it will be easier to pull it off

All right, she's one of us

We'll each do our job

Fine

Brother Wan When are we leaving?

Just get ready

Hitch on a carriage

Right

Take care

Right

Hurry up

Did you hear me? On the double

Father Leave two trucks for me

Nonsense The marshal is moving arms

I need all 16 trucks

Yell him two broke down

Don't be silly

I'm not

If I don't get two trucks

I'll never come back

All right, take the two old ones

All right, take the two old ones

Let's go

What's this?

Are you tired of living?

He was made of jelly

Let's go

Come in

456, a winner Your Yurn

Who are you?

We're your ancestors

Hurry up

Sir

Who are you?

Have your fun another time

Get dressed and come with us

Yes Yes

Who's your officer? I'll promote you

Shut up and get dressed

Yes

Attention

Put his clothes on

If it's money, tell me how much

We don't want money

Just do as we say and you won't be hurt

Otherwise, it's too bad for you

All right

We're going to the munitions dump

You'll ask for the 3,000 rifles

One wrong move and you're dead

This... yes

Commander Liu Open up

We want the new batch of rifles

Once we have them, we'll free you

Remember the money you squeezed

can't be taken to the grave

Yes, yes

Watch your expression, you're an officer

Watch your expression, you're an officer

Yes

Commander

Sit down

What can I do for you?

The commander brought transport

Please release the 3,000 rifles

and 280,000 rounds of ammunition

for us to take away

Yes, rifles and ammunition

Let me have them

You must have brought the documents?

What documents?

The Marshal left instructions

that without his special documents

nobody is to touch the rifles

Not even I?

Give the order, I'm in a hurry

You're even here personally

but...

I have my orders

from the Marshal. Please pardon me

Don't you trust me?

Yes, yes Please telephone the Marshal

His verbal instructions

will be just as good

Hurry up and make the call

Yes, sir

Is that the Marshal's office?

Commander Liu wishes to speak to him

The Marshal just left...

for the 3rd Division's northern camp

Yes, yes.

The Marshal went to the 3rd Division

He's not available

Thats just it

He went to receive the troops

and ordered Commander Liu to get the arms

He may have forgotten his instructions

so we didn't bring any documents

You know the Marshal's temper

Can you answer for the delay?

But he did leave instructions

I could lose my head Please forgive me

You insist on documents

You're making it difficult for me

Please order the rifles released

Adjutant, I suggest you make a trip

and fetch the documents

Right, we'll go then

The Marshal might come himself

If that happens

you'll have no excuse

You...

Please look after the Commander

There are some motorcycles outside

May we borrow two?

Of course

They're not very comfortable though

Don't worry, sir

Right

Well?

A hitch, we're going out

Be patient

Come on

Brother Yieh, who'd have thought

We'd be on such a big mission?

Even now I don't believe it

Sir, the 3rd Division has arrived

We'd better fetch the rifles for them

We'd better fetch the rifles for them

before the 4th Division gets envious

and accuses you of favoritism

All right you'd better go

Chang

Yes, sir

Give the Adjutant General the document

Yes, sir

What is it?

I'm going to fetch the rifles

Please take the other car

There's an officer in the car

Is it Marshal Chin

No, why would he turn back?

We'll take a look anyway

Right

Who is it?

Commander Liu sent us to the Marshal

The Marshal wants to see him too

We're going to fetch the rifles

We're going to fetch the rifles

In that case

You'll need documents

I don't need you to tell me that

You mean...

Damn, he's dead

Where's the document?

Here

Thats whole pile of papers

Which one is the right one?

We'll take them all back

and let them sort it all out

Right, let's go

Why are no rifles being carried out?

How should I know?

What's keeping those two?

I... I hope they return soon

They're back now

The Marshal couldn't come himself

but the document is here.

Look

Right

But the document isn't here?

Impossible

Are you sure?

It's not here

Let's go, sir

What's the matter?

What's the matter?

Never mind

Yes... yes. Marshal

How is it

Commander, wait

I've sent a man for the rifles

Yell them to hurry it up

You'll be responsible for any delay

Yes, they arrived for a long time, but...

Don't waste time. Just hurry

Yes, Sir

Yes, Sir

Commander The marshal just called

I'm sorry. Please pardon me

Not at all, sir

It's a great responsibility

You did the right thing

Please wait awhile

I'll hurry them with the rifles

Go ahead

Right

What's going on?

The Marshal sent someone for the guns

but I sent him to hell instead

The Marshal meant that man was to hurry

but his call saved our day

Don't brag. Your illiteracy

almost got us into trouble

Liu, this is your lucky day

The moment we left here

you'd have been a dead man

You must stick to your word

Hurry up

Quickly

You're great

Take the two trucks back

What Trying to get rid of me?

What Trying to get rid of me?

The real danger still lies ahead

I'm not afraid

I'm going too

You get up front

Hurry

What's keeping the rifles?

They left half an hour ago, sir

They left half an hour ago, sir

Commander Liu came in person

I didn't send commander Liu

I sent my adjutant

But commander Liu came

But commander Liu came

I haven't seen the adjutant general

Damn

I really haven't seen him

You bunch of idiots

What is it, sir?

Something's wrong

How did Liu know I wanted the rifles?

Send a detachment to check

Yes, sir

Get me the Marshal

Yes, sir

Sir, the adjutant and his men

were all killed

Order a curfew and block the roads

Tell the munitions commander

If anything happens to the rifles

I'll send him to the front

Go back

You're going south

Please let me go

Be patient

Be patient

How much money do you want?

Just say the word

Shut your mouth

We're not robbers

Chief Hung

You have a plucky daughter

She's a child who knows nothing

Youi KYoui K

They took my rifles

and stole a train for the south

I've ordered them stopped

I want them alive, I'll skin them

Shoot these two first

Yes

I've other plans for you

Ready

Fire

Didn't you want to go, Liu?

Jump We won't follow you

Go on

Look

Quick, get inside

Hurry

Brother Wan, are you all right?

I... I've had it

but my mission isn't finished

Youi K

Don't worry

we'll carry on

The contact man is in South City

He's my close friend. Find him

He's my close friend. Find him

The Marshal mustn't recover the guns

The Marshal mustn't recover the guns

I know

Brother Wan, what's his name?

He... He...

What to do?

We promised Brother Wan

to deliver the guns

Even if we get to South City

that's the 4th Division Headquarters

We'd only be asking for trouble

We'll continue southwards

Can't you go faster?

No, it's only a small engine

We don't want to burst it

The brakes are gone

We'll have to jump for it

we can disconnect the carriage

we can disconnect the carriage

Pepper, jump

The driver didn't have time

The driver didn't have time

This is the end

No, we're near South City

Brother Yieh, go backward

and break the rails

We'll camouflage the carriage

Right

There's a pushcart

Let's cover this up

Sir, the train headed south

Commander Liu was shot

Give chase

It's done

Let's go

We'll find Wan's friend in South City

The train can't have flown away

The rails broke here

Where could the train be?

Sir, it seems to me the train might still be ahead

Rubbish The rails broke here

Yes, Sir

Hitch up the line I must talk to the Marshal

The train was derailed

Look nearby, you'll find it

It's all flat ground

There's no sign of the train

Must I come and look myself?

I think this requires your presence

Something strange is going on

You intended the rifles for 3rd Division

The train headed for South City

Thats the 4th Division headquarters

Right You meani K

You mean the 4th Division commander...

I wouldn't dare say that. I think you'd better come, sir

All right

Thats fine, sir

My car Yes, sir

My belly is grumbling. Let's hurry

I can't go any further

Ask Meng Kang to carry you

or send a bridal sedan

I'm not your husband; don't get rough

I'm not your husband; don't get rough

Stop it

We gave our money to the train men

We gave our money to the train men

Do you have any cash on you?

I gave mine away too

But we won't have to starve

Let's go

There might be a curfew

It'll be difficult after dark

Go

Attention

At ease

Officers of the 4th Division

may return to their posts

Yes, sir

Tzu Chun, let's have a talk

Yes, this way

Sit down

That would be impolite

I wouldn't dare ask that

Just don't stab me in the back

Sir, I don't understand what you mean?

The 3,000 rifles were intended

for 3rd Division, but you objected

If you won your battle, who'd blame you?

The Japanese promised me cannons too

But I never objected to anything

Then return the rifles and bullets

The 3rd Division needs them

I'm not that brave, sir

This area is your territory

Could a train grow wings?

Who else had such organization?

Who else had such organization?

Sir

This matter will be cleared up

But then I won't be your match

But then I won't be your match

Take a special detachment

and have all officers of the 4th Division

arrested and placed in custody

Yes, sir

Sir, the enemy troops are near

If all our officers are arrested

what will we do if attacked?

I can fight a war without them

Erh...

Pepper

No

You're well known for your money

You can't be broke

We have to eat

I'm full already

We'll take a look, then

Thats the best we can do

Thats the best we can do

Place your bet

Wait

I think it'll be a two

Who's your officer?

Thats none of your business

Are you playing or not?

If you're afraid, I'll be the banker

Don't make trouble

Isn't that Miss Hung?

You look familiar

You're friends of Miss Hung?

Thats different. Gentlemen...

What Miss Hung?

Customs chief's daughter

Step back, you lot.

I've ordered to take them alive

You must be mistaken

It's a fight

Don't let them get away

They're wanted criminals

Go

Damn it, I lost my pistol

Damn it, I lost my pistol

You almost put us in the fire

If you weren't so well known

they wouldn't have noticed us

Marshal Chin works fast

He knows we're the ones

who took his rifles

but he'll never find out

Where they are

Wait

You're really capable

We got news of the rifles

We got news of the rifles

It was no ordinary feat

It was no ordinary people

Are you a friend of Brother Wan?

Who said I wasn't?

Pity he's dead

What a shame

He was a real here

Where are the rifles now?

At...

Take us to see Wan's people

Yes, I made an arrangement with him

We want to join the revolution

Revolution Naturally

After what you've done

you deserve some reward

You might be made officers

and I'll take orders from you

Please come with me

Our group isn't far from here

Why fighting with our own men

Stop

Right, we're on their trail

They won't get away

Put the city on curfew

Yes, sir

Please

You have many men

Brothers

They're the ones who took the rifles

Only they know

where the guns are

What are you up to?

I want to thank you

for making my fortune

Those guns are worth plenty

You're not Brother Wan's people?

I never said I knew him

You just assumed it

Don't move

Who are you?

My name's Yen

He's a notorious bandit

Robbers and bandits meet

We're not robbers

We're not robbers

Yell the truth, now

Where are the arms?

You'll get your share

Otherwise, you'll suffer

especially Miss Hung

We've several hundred men

and she'll be helpless as a kitten

and she'll be helpless as a kitten

But if there's money, we share it

But if there's money, we share it

I don't think your men would shoot

The city is full of patrols

Do you want them to come here?

You're right

But even if we don't shoot you

You won't get away

You're smart people

You'll talk sooner or later

All right. I'll talk

Brother Yieh, take Pepper

Let none of them escape

Go on, Pepper

Okay

Run

Gunshots

Let's go

Go

We'll separate. You take Pepper

We'll separate. You take Pepper

We'll meet behind the teahouse

Come on

Don't shoot. I have...

Halt Who goes there?

I'm under Capt. Feng's command

Which Captain Feng?

This one

Thats him

Take him to the Marshal

Thats an honor

Marshal Be seated

You've got guts taking away my rifles

Where are they now?

Sir, I did have a pistol in my belt

but your men took it away

You don't talk now

but you will under torture. That would be stupid

Try it I can take plenty

or I could die

Meng Kang, what do you like?

I like to play around a bit

especially with gorillas

Anything else?

Well, I like to gamble also

We'll play a game then

Let him go

Sir, he's dangerous

Let him go

Yes, sir

What shall we play?

Anything you like

But I'll name the stakes

If I win, tell me where the arms are

And if I should win?

I'll let you go

Is that so?

You might not win

Right. Bring dominoes

I'll play the Marshal

We got away

but what happened to Meng Kang?

One game decides

Right, let's play

I'm the guest. I'll open first

All right

Damn it, six

Damn it, six

You want to go on?

Why not? You might have a four

Even if it's a five, I win

Four, five

A four No points

I've lost, you may go

You're a man of your word

I've lost, what have I to say?

The Marshal say s to let him go

Sir

We only got one, he wouldn't talk

It's easier of we get all three Ching

Chang Sir

Follow him

Yes, sir

Be quick

Will you have some noodles?

Brother Wan loves my noodles

Don't mind him

We've already been tricked once

I'm Chen Sheng

Where's Brother Wan?

You were with him

He must have mentioned me to you

Don't play tricks

I'm his right hand man

He's dead

Talking won't do you any good

He's dead?

Let me show you something

Don't be smart

No, in my pocket, there's a snapshot

Take it out and you'll understand

I took this with him in Canton

I took this with him in Canton

Those rifles...

You're here

What kept you?

I was caught by the Marshal

but he played me a game of dominoes

but he played me a game of dominoes

I had a two, but he was out of luck

He lost so he let me go

Is that true?

I thought it strange too

No, it's a trick

He wants to get all three of you. You must have been followed

You...

This is Chen, Brother Wan's man

You'd better get out

No, there's no way out

No, there's no way out

Sir

Found them?

The rifles are by the bridge

hidden in a hut

Keep on searching

The Marshal was really smart

He let one go, and got three

Chin didn't keep his word

Chin didn't keep his word

Shut up. Come on

Coming

Take them alive

Run

After them

Chase

Chase

We've got the rifles

I heard the 4th Division officers

I heard the 4th Division officers

were arrested. It's our chance

If we take South City it'll open the way

If we take South City it'll open the way

Right

For these rifles, Brother Wan died a martyr

For these rifles, Brother Wan died a martyr

But the other three, We don't even know their names

But the other three, We don't even know their names

Never mind dead or alive, fire

Go

Don't fire, they're wanted alive

If you tell us where the rifles are

If you tell us where the rifles are

You'll be spared and rewarded

Brother Wan's men must have the arms

Yiech Hu

We mustn't be caught alive

I know. Don't worry

Meng Kang, we won't be taken alive

Meng Kang, we won't be taken alive

We both agreed

Wherever you go, I go

Not one of them alive

All dead

Charge Attack
