In this video.

What we're going to do is very simply start updating the state when we click on a particular button.

So this should be relatively easy to accomplish.

So what I'm going to do here is let's just start off with this button right here.

When you click on this button, we should change the gender from gendered girl to gender.

Boy.

So let's go ahead and do that.

So we're going to go ahead and add this at Click.

So at Click Event Listener.

And as soon as we click, what we want to do is we want to grab the options.

We're going to say options.

So options like so we're going to say dot gender.

We're going to say that that is going to be equal to gender.

Dot boy.

And that's pretty much all it is that we need to do.

So what this should do is actually change the state and thus the background color.

Let's give this a quick test.

And well, it actually changed this state over here.

However, this background color has not changed.

So another reason for that is because it's boy capital like so.

So just refresh that.

And now there we go.

Now it's working the way they'll be expected to.

So just go ahead and copy this a few times.

And this time we're going to say, you need sex for this or you need sex.

And for this, we're going to say, girl.

And then let's scroll down a little bit more.

And over here this time, we're going to change the popularity.

So popularity we're going to say that this is going to be popularity dot trendy.

Let's go ahead and copy that.

And then over here we're going to say unique.

Okay.

And over here, I think we should have this as three, not as two, because I believe this is two.

So right over here, let's go ahead and copy this once more.

This time, we're going to change the length.

So we're going to say options dot length.

It's going to be the length that long.

Let's go ahead and copy that.

One more time.

We're going to say over here.

Options dot length.

This is going to be all.

And the last thing is shorts.

So this should change our state the way that well, we intended to.

So if we go over here now, we have the option to just click on whatever it is that we want and it will

change the state as well as the background colors.
