[My Uncanny Destiny]

[Muxi City]

In distant ancient times,

there was a city called Muxi City,

[Glory and Grace]

the lord of which, Ye Tang, was childless

until in his forties

when his wife got pregnant.

The child she carried

had everything to do with the accession of sovereign

and the safety of Muxi City.

Go, push!

Hot water!

Madam, try harder!

Madam.

Push!

Push harder!

Come on, hot water.

[Episode 1]

[My Uncanny Destiny]

Almost there!

Push!

Push, Madam.

Push, Madam.

Try harder!

Your Majesty,

Madam's too weak

to make it.

Madam, try harder!

My wife often fights on the battlefield with me

and the drumbeat

always perks her up.

Pass my order.

Beat all the drums

in Muxi City

to help my wife go through the labor.

Aye.

Order from the lord. Hit the drum for Madam's labor.

Order from the lord. Hit the drum for Madam's labor.

Order from the lord. Hit the drum for Madam's labor.

[State Office]

Order from the lord. Hit the drum for Madam's labor.

Order from the lord. Hit the drum for Madam's labor.

Report!

Urgent message!

Drumbeat is resounding throughout Muxi City.

Looks like they're attacking us.

How dare those scoundrels!

They're actually

attacking my Xuanyue City in the middle of the night!

Have the warriors of the three armies

lined up and prepared for the battle.

I will supervise it personally!

Yes!

Your Majesty.

Get my warrior costume prepared!

Your Majesty, Your Majesty!

Madam, the baby's almost there.

Push!

Madam.

Hurry!

It's coming, Madam.

Your Majesty,

Madam...

She died from labor.

Is it a girl or a boy?

It's a princess.

If this reached to

the patriarchal clan's ear,

I'm afraid

it would create terrible confusion on the securing of throne.

Madam

gave birth to a son.

But she...

It's a son.

A son.

It's a son,

and the future

lord of Muxi City.

Report!

Speak!

Your Majesty.

Not a single soldier

from Muxi City was found out of the city.

Muxi City!

How dare

they tricked us

into believing them!

Our Xuanyue City and Muxi City

are sworn foes

and we'll fight it to the death!

Father!

Father, are you alright?

Are you alright?

Are you okay, Father?

Father!

Xuanming,

keep this in mind.

Muxi City's full of

treacherous villains.

You must not have

anything to do with them.

You have to avenge me,

otherwise,

I cannot

die in peace.

Father!

Since then,

Xuanyue City and Muxi City

had fights year after year,

which recurred a deeper feud between them.

Be a boy.

You should do

what boys do.

So should I pee standing up?

You're the head of Muxi City.

No one peeks at you when you pee.

Alright.

Father,

I'm scared.

Don't be.

Be more sensible.

I am sensible.

It makes me dizzy.

My young lord,

please don't be so sensible.

I...

I'm terrified.

Don't listen to him.

Shoot.

After the demise of the old lord,

Ye Zhaonan, his daughter,

disguised herself as a man

and inherited the throne.

Ye Zhaonan, who set her mind on making Muxi City thrive,

wasn't aware that

the way toward being stronger seemed smooth

but was treacherous

with hidden dangers surging.

May Your Majesty be bathed in blessings.

May peace be with Muxi City.

May the world be stable.

May people the best of health.

Rise.

By the grace of God, a decree from the lord.

[Imperial Edict]

Following the will of heaven and the people.

Enriching people

is essential to run a city.

My people

are equal in genders

and social status.

Positions for men

shall be available for women,

and the latter

can do what the former does.

We share wealth

regardless of social status

and live in a world of great harmony,

by the lord himself!

[The Lord of Muxi City]

What are you doing?

What are you trying to do?

Go.

What are you trying to do?

What are you going to do with me?

Tell me.

Be gentle.

All I did was grope her butt on the street.

It's not a big deal.

I'm the Commanderial Prince granted by the former lord.

I can't even touch a woman's butt, can I?

I'm asking you.

Your Majesty.

As a Commanderial Prince,

you fail to keep your virtue

and are ignorant of your shame,

which brings disgrace to the Liu family

and hurts the feelings of people in Xuanyue City.

This can be

considered a major crime.

Your Majesty, please spare me.

Give me another chance, please!

I won't do it anymore.

Have mercy on me, please.

Your Majesty,

please give Commanderial Prince a chance.

Please don't!

He's the Commanderial Prince granted by the former lord.

Please have a second thought, Your Majesty!

Your Majesty,

I need to continue the ancestral line. I...

Please have a second thought, Your Majesty!

Have mercy on me, Your Majesty!

No, no!

Your Majesty, no!

Your Majesty!

The old lord of Muxi City died,

and Ye Zhaonan, his son, ascended the throne.

A son shall pay his father's debts.

I have to capture him alive,

strip his skin and veins off,

and have him torn into pieces

before I can be satisfied!

Please don't! I need to carry on the family line!

Your Majesty,

between the sexes there should be a prudent reserve,

and differences remain between the superior and the inferior.

Ever since the decree issued by you,

roles between men and women have been in chaos.

Some men are seen singing and dancing,

while women are seen doing weapon practice;

men stay at home working on family affairs,

while women go outside doing business,

all of which are against the principle of virtues and ethics

and can lead to disaster.

Your Majesty, you just ascended the throne

and are not familiar with government affairs.

Your Majesty, please rescind the order.

Are you telling me what to do?

How dare you!

Your Majesty.

Put it on in case of catching a cold.

Your Majesty,

Liu Xuanming, the lord of Xuanyue City, is ferocious

and fond of killing.

He's been casting a greedy eye at Muxi City.

Your Majesty,

please put the stability of Muxi City first

and rescind the order.

Please rescind the order.

My dear subjects,

you're all well-read.

May I ask

have you ever seen

men enjoy higher status than women

and

women cannot do things that men do

and men cannot

do things that women do

in the Four Books and The Five Classics?

Your Majesty,

can women

go to the front to fight the enemy?

Mr. Qian, do you know

Fu Hao, the wife of King Wuding of the Shang Dynasty,

pioneered the frontiers

fighting on the battlefield for the Shang Dynasty?

Do you know

Zhong Wuyan, the queen of King Qixuan,

led the arm for an expedition

which saved the State of Qi from the crisis?

My dear subjects,

read extensively

when you're free.

Your Majesty, as you said,

can men give birth as women do?

My dear subject, do you know

why women can give birth

while you people cannot do so?

There is a physical reason for this.

In my opinion,

women's generous enough to hold you

yet your heart has no room for girls.

If there's nothing else,

take your leave.

Please stop, Your Majesty.

My sister Zhilan

has married you for months,

but you hold off consummating the marriage.

Is there anything you find hard to disclose

as the rumor spread among the people?

Right.

How dare you take such liberties!

I'm a red-blooded male. There's nothing I find hard to disclose!

This is my family affair

which allows no discussion in court session!

Adjourn!

Adjourn!

Take care, Your Majesty.

Zhilan, you can do it.

Today,

I must get His Majesty's favor.

Eunuch Sun, how was I just now?

You did well.

Your Majesty,

I'm guilty.

I forgot that your period is coming.

It's okay.

I'll go back to my room and get the sanitary towel changed.

What's been bothering me is actually Zhilan.

Why did Father arrange the marriage for me?

He was worried that

General Jinfu might be disloyal after his death.

Such an arrangement

kind of sets General Jinfu's mind at rest.

But I've been avoiding this for months.

I can't avoid it forever.

I'm going to hunt.

When the time comes,

I'll run to the cliff edge

while Jinfu and Zhilan are off guard.

Eunuch Sun, find a trustable guard

and have him disguised as an assassin to kill me.

At that time,

I can take a few more months off

on the pretext of recovering.

You're so thoughtful, Your Majesty.

My charm shall take the blame.

[Glory and Grace]

Ouch, it hurts.

Your Majesty.

Zhilan,

why are you here?

Why are you holding the sanitary towel?

This is something

I specially prepared for you.

Well, I got something else to do.

You take a rest.

Your Majesty,

am I pretty?

Zhilan,

Don't... don't catch a cold.

Your Majesty.

Zhi-Zhilan,

what are you doing?

We're an official couple who's completed the marriage ceremony.

Why are you staying away from me?

We're just a couple in name.

Why don't we

consummate the marriage?

Zhilan,

calm down.

Be cool.

Did I do something wrong

so that you keep me away?

You didn't do anything wrong.

I'm the one

who should be blamed.

You won't be happy

being with me.

I'll make you happy.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty.

Zhilan.

Your Majesty.

You don't need to make me happy.

You should make yourself happy.

I'll be glad

when you are happy.

-No, no. -Your Majesty.

Zhilan!

-Stop running! -Zhilan.

No, no, no.

Zhilan.

Blood.

Your Majesty.

You got piles?

Let me see them.

No, no, no. it's caused by excessive internal heat.

Your brother pissed me off

in the morning court session.

Then let me cool you down.

Let me

take you to go hunting.

Your Majesty,

are you sure you're not

taking a bath in the wild with me?

Enjoy yourself!

Alright.

Your Majesty.

Ahead of us is Muxi City's territory.

The group for peace-making marriage from Tianmu City is on its way.

Shall we wait till Princess Qimeng makes it to the city

before we make the peace-making marriage done

and attack Muxi City?

It's wonderful.

Wipe out Muxi City and Tianmu City in one fell swoop.

But I can't wait to

kill Ye Zhaonan.

Isn't it a piece of cake

to kill a toy boy?

Your Majesty, with your intelligence,

appearance and courage,

you're unprecedented

and one of a kind.

But we're faced with Muxi City.

I'm also worried about your safety.

What if we...

Your Majesty, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty,

wait for me.

Your Majesty,

wait for me.

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

Your Majesty, you're impressive!

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

Today is

a peaceful, sunny day.

It's my show time!

Your Majesty,

wait for me.

Your Majesty, slow down. Wait!

Is the assassin ready?

I've got the top assassin prepared.

Once Ye Zhaonan is killed,

I'll order the spy planted in Xuanyue City

to kill Liu Xuanming.

By then,

Xuanyue City can hardly look after itself,

which will be your time to succeed to the throne as the lord of Muxi City.

Exhort the assassin to get the Golden Seal.

Only in this way

can I

be enthroned justifiably.

Your Majesty.

This is the assassin sent by Eunuch Sun?

Why's he giving me that deep look?

Oh no, I'm so pretty

enough to make a man envious.

I'd better let him give me a cut.

Jinfu's probably on the way here.

Come on!

Here!

I saved you,

but you showed no gratitude

and are being frivolous.

I'm tall, stately and handsome

but I'm not interested in men.

Sir,

please behave yourself.

Well, do you have some

misunderstanding of the words

“tall, stately and handsome”?

Alright, cut the crap.

Aim here.

Come on!

From the way you're dressed,

I guess you're an official.

How can you use obscene language?

What a disgrace!

Do you know who you're talking to?

Who are you?

The first assassin in the world,

Tan Rang.

The assassin sent by Eunuch Sun is so cute.

Ye Zhaonan's well-informed.

I didn't expect he sent an assassin to kill me this fast.

Ye Zhaonan.

Something's wrong.

How come there are two assassins?

Eunuch Sun can't even handle such a thing.

Jinfu will catch up within a few minutes.

Alright.

You two stop fighting.

I'll raise your remuneration.

Come at me together.

How can he be so ridiculous and shameless?

He actually wants the two of us to fight against him.

Don't let go of me.

You're grasping me tightly.

I can't even if I want to.

Hang in there.

Watch out!

[General's Mansion]

General,

we've searched the cliff below

and His Majesty's body is nowhere to be seen.

What about the Golden Seal?

Tan Rang didn't get it.

Ye Zhaonan should have it.

You call him the first assassin in the world?

I think he's trash!

Keep this to ourselves.

Make sure the subjects are kept from the news that Ye Zhaonan's missing.

Just tell them His Majesty

is not feeling well

and needs to rest in seclusion.

Miss Zhilan

is so worried about His Majesty

that she went to look for him alone.

She's seen little of the world

and is naïve.

Anything bad could happen to her.

Go find her and get her back!

Yes.

Come back.

Have you got the spy

in Xuanyue City ready?

Tonight's when he kills Liu Xuanming.

Good.

Let Tan Rang look for Ye Zhaonan right away.

I need to find him, dead or alive!

The priority is to get the Golden Seal.

Golden Seal!

Aye.

Stay put.

Stay there.

My shoes!

My shoes!

Don't move!

Stop.

Stop!

Sir, I…

My pants are falling off.

Hey, my pants are falling off!

Where am I supposed to hold except the pants?

Anywhere...

except them.

Believe it or not, I can jump down with your pants.

Sir!

Sir.

Hurry.

Come up.

Thanks, man.

Pants.

You lecher!

No wonder he was being frivolous.

Turns out it's a woman.

Her pulse beats slow yet fluttering.

When can she wake up?

It's unknown so far.

I'll give you the answer to that

after I write out a prescription.

She's suffering this in order to save me.

Anyway,

cure her.

Yes.

Watch out.

You hothead.

It's Liu Xuanming's carriage.

We got the letter from Vice General Zhou

that General Jinfu orders us to get it done tonight.

Everything's ready.

We can start at 11:00 PM tonight

when the rotation begins.

Great!

It's been five years.

I can finally be reunited with my mother.

I can

go back and see my daughter.

Guan,

tell us

how things go on tonight.

Free of worries.

Assent from a nobleman.

It's a sign of auspiciousness.

Your Majesty, where are you?

Stop!

Who are you?

Don't run away!

Stop!

Catch her. She's from Muxi City!

Stop!

Don't run!

Stop!

What are you doing here?

I...

I'm here looking for my husband.

Looking for your husband?

We got someone looking for a dog,

someone getting lost,

someone digging for wild vegetables

and two eloping.

You're from Muxi City.

Why are you running back and forth

in Xuanyue City?

Tonight,

we can go home

once we kill Liu Xuanming.

Be careful!

You clumsy oaf, are you trying to get us killed?

Liu Xuanming

is here!
