- My name is Avery Dixon.

I was one of the finalists

on "America's Got Talent,"
season 17.

- Tell me what got you
into this.

- At the time I picked up
the saxophone,

I was getting bullied
in elementary school.

- For what?

- Well, my voice sounds
a little bit different.

- You got a great voice.

- And I looked
a little bit different, too.

It was relentless.
I was in such a dark place.

My mom convinced me
to audition.

I was not sure
that I was even good enough.

- What would you do
if you were to win?

- I'd want to give
my mom and my brother

a space where we can actually
live as loud as we want to be,

because somebody
had called the cops on me

before I flew out.
- Really?

- The cops came
banging on the door.

They were like,
"You need to be quiet."

- Avery, here you can be
as loud as you want.

[wild cheering,
saxophone playing]

- At first, I thought I was
going to get a Red Buzzer.

Instead, Terry goes,

"Those bullies
are going to have to"...

kind of, like, turned

my whole perspective around.

- Everything you dreamed of,

I actually believe,
is going to happen.

gave me that dream,

I'm 33, from London.

And I can read minds.

There's a detail about your
engagement that no one knows.

- It was good to get
to the semifinals,

but I stumbled reading
Sofía's mind a little bit.

- Since being on the show,
my life's completely changed.

I'm going to theaters, and
people are coming out,

We had to see your live show."

And it's been such
an incredible journey.

I think this is my opportunity
to really prove

that I deserve to be counted
amongst all of the All-Stars.

Timing is always going
to be a curveball,

but I'm really hoping
that this performance

will win Simon back over

and makes him regret
pushing that buzzer.

I just have to trust
in my skills

that I'm going to be able to
get into those people's brains.

The reason that I'm a psychic
today is because of my aunt.

She used to host
these tea parties

where she'd read tea leaves,

psychically divining
questions and concerns

from members of the public,

and I'd like to show you what
one of those is like tonight.

Golden Buzzer ever

in the history
of "America's Got Talent."

We got the very first

- Did "AGT" change your life?

- Yeah, "AGT" really
changed our life.

We went to our county carnival.
We got free ride wristbands.

And we could ride as many rides
as we wanted.

all of our new skills
and abilities

because I've been doing
stand-up

for close to 20 years,

performing in random clubs,

sleeping in hostels.

I seen what "AGT" does
for all their artists,

and I felt like it was good
lane for me to step into.

I was devastated.

my life,

my family's life even more,

He's like, "I bought it."

And he doesn't waste the milk.

He walks the bowl of milk

and places the bowl of milk
inside of the refrigerator.

So, first, I'm like,

But then I was like,

"All these years I've
been single-milking it.

I just needed my milk
to marinate."

The fame is affecting step-man.

He's been invited
to all these parties,

but he's been staying out
too late.

So my wife and I, we've been
deciding how to handle it.

I'm like,
"I don't know what to do."

She's like, "Go get him."

I drove around the corner
to pick him up.

I came home three hours later.

She said, "Michael,
you been drinking?"

I'm like, "We got some
of the same friends.

"Everybody was there.

"He's still there.

"I'm going to go get him again.

And on top of all of that,

I have responsibilities
in the community.

I'm a little-league coach.

I just hate when kids

is a game of technique.

When the ball's coming at you,
you turn, and you brace.

But a lot of the kids,
they get afraid,

and they get hit in
the worst places,

and I see it happen.

And the worst thing you can do

that was the craziest, most
insane moment we've had,

and the management on that
performance was impeccable.

I was worried when you
started hammering away

and you were laying
on the floor,

because when we first got
on the stage,

Simon touched two of the nuts.

- Oh!

- Did you guys see
this earlier on?

And I kept on thinking about
those two nuts that Simon--

- I did.
- Simon readjusted your nuts.

- Readjusted the nuts,
and so I was so worried.

- However, this is one
of those rare times

when you want your nuts
to be hit.

I'll tell you what I do think.

We've seen so many acts
from around the world

on "All-Stars" this year.

This was one
of my favorite performances.
