And The Winner Is Love

Episode 17

Fengzi.

What brings you here?

Come. Let me see if you’re better.

Much better.

Father told me

you got the medicine

from Shark Sect to save me.

It must be very hard.

As long as you can be cured,

that was nothing.

Are you so worried about me?

I’m worried about you

every moment.

Thank you.

Don’t be so polite to me.

I’m your senior.

That’s what I should do.

Over these years,

you’ve been taking care of me

all the time,

heart and soul.

Yet I took it

for granted.

Sorry, Senior.

I’m too ignorant.

Your apology

means what I did

isn’t in vain.

Alright.

You just recovered. It’s cold.

Go back to rest.

Go.

Feng She.

Go to scout ahead.

Miss Chong.

I can’t go to the Hall of Flames with you.

Why?

I decide to go back to Dongdu first

and tell my father about the epidemic,

so we could gather the power of the court

to combat the disease.

But

it’s a long way ahead.

You have injuries.

No worries.

I’ll let the imperial physicians heal me.

But you,

take good care of yourself.

Well,

if I want to find you,

where should I go?

When it’s done,

I’m going back to the Moon Valley.

Xuezhi.

Don’t be like me.

If you love someone,

be sure to

be with him determinedly.

Do not be like me,

regretting it all your life.

Farewell.

Qingmei.

What’s on your mind?

Tell me.

Maybe I can help you out.

Lately

I’ve practiced the fifth move

of the Nine Moves of Lotus God.

Are you sure it’s the fifth move?

Mastering the fifth move of the Nine Moves

requires great talent

and tons of time.

You... You just took one year

to master it.

It... It means you’re extremely talented.

I didn’t see you wrong.

You are gifted.

It’s all because

you taught me well.

My teaching

account for three out of ten.

The rest

relies on your talent and comprehension.

Tell me.

How are you feeling now?

The Nine Moves of Lotus God

easily gets people mutilated.

I regretted it.

That’s not what I’m asking.

I mean

your inner heart.

Do you feel

that you can’t

control yourself?

Do you

have like evil intentions

like killing?

No, I don’t.

Rest assured, sir.

I’m not losing my mind.

Good.

The higher level you reach,

the stronger the heart demon is.

You must be very careful.

If any sign of demonization,

stop practicing instantly.

Sure. Got it.

Master,

please continue teaching me the Nine Moves.

Don’t be too anxious.

You practice so fast

without Lotus Sutra.

If you keep practicing like this blindly,

you’ll definitely get demonized.

If so,

without the Lotus Sutra,

I’ll remain at the fifth move, right?

The Lotus Wing

are created complementary to each other.

That’s all we can do.

Although it’s only the fifth move,

you already have few rivals in the world.

Looks like I can’t be a supreme master.

I think of another possibility.

It's just that...

What is it?

Forget it.

It's too risky.

Sir.

As long as there is a way to improve,

I’m willing to take any risk.

If it’s on me,

I have no concerns.

But you’re a prodigy of martial arts.

I don't want you to take any risk.

Sir.

Listen to me.

In this world,

I’m the only one who can play the Nine Moves.

Who else

can you use it on?

Right?

The Sutra Library in Luduan Temple

has many secret books on heart methods.

They are not

as good as the Lotus Sutra,

but the effect is similar.

If we replace the Lotus Sutra

with these secret books,

perhaps you can try to learn the ninth move.

That’s a good idea.

But

Sutra Library is critical to Luduan Temple.

They won’t lend me the books.

Of course, you won’t borrow them.

I’ve been there for so many years.

I know it like the back of my hand.

How to avoid the patrolling guards,

how to enter the Library, and where the sutras are.

I know all these well.

Understand?

Well.

I'm willing to have a try.

Eat.

Leader.

You’re back.

How did it go?

Isn’t he

the disciple of Man Feiyue?

He’s also a thief.

-I... -His name is Feng She.

He knows the prescription to cure the epidemic.

I bring him back to prepare the antidote.

Leader.

He killed Huashan Sect’s disciples

on the Hero Assembly.

Are you sure he can help us?

We have no choice.

Man Feiyue is dead.

Only he knows the prescription.

Don’t you trust me?

I’m leaving then.

Feng She.

Liuli.

Take him to make the antidote.

Yes.

Follow me.

Leader.

He is suspicious.

I’ll keep an eye on him.

Liuli.

I take medicine every day,

yet I’m not getting any better.

And you have to check my pulse every day.

Thank you.

Any news

from the leader?

Muyuan.

It’s me.

I’m back.

Xuezhi.

You’re back.

Muyuan.

You suffered so much.

Rest assured.

I’ve found you the antidote

to cure the epidemic.

Once the antidote is prepared,

you and the people infected

can all be cured.

It must be very hard

to get it.

I didn’t go with you.

Sorry.

Muyuan.

Don’t say that.

It’s what I should do for you.

As long as I can get the cure for you,

not to mention the Divine Spirit Temple,

I’d go anywhere

no matter how dangerous it is.

The Divine Spirit Temple?

You went to the Divine Spirit Temple?

Man Feiyue is tricky

and ruthless.

There are

all traps around.

Did you get hurt?

No, I’m fine.

Actually, I didn’t go to

the Temple alone.

Master Shangguan

and his two friends helped me.

Master Shangguan

went together with you?

If not him

and his two chivalrous friends,

I’m afraid

I couldn’t even get into it.

Not to mention getting you the antidote.

Good to see you back.

Good.

Let me do it.

Let me.

What’s the hurry?

He won’t die right now.

I forgot it.

What did you forget?

The most important ingredient.

What is it?

A bowl of rootless water is needed

to make the antidote work.

Why didn't you say it earlier?

Anything else? Tell me all of it at once.

And...

Say it!

None.

Is this the so-called antidote?

Exactly.

You know the consequence of fooling us.

Good medicine tastes bitter.

Don’t you know it?

Alright.

Since you don’t trust me,

throw it away. Don’t drink it.

Give me.

Chief Guardian. Get up and take the medicine.

Be careful. It’s hot.

It’s hot.

Actually, I’ve had

lots of medicine these days.

It’s OK to have this.

Just have a try.

How do you feel?

The taste isn’t bad.

It’s just kind of...

Kind of...

-Muyuan! -Chief Guardian!

Feng She.

What’s wrong with the medicine?

-Muyuan! -Speak!

I...

Muyuan.

What’s going on?

Is this the so-called antidote?

If anything happens to Chief Guardian,

I’m gonna kill you.

Rest assured.

This medicine

has no problem.

How come Muyuan is like this then?

He’s been infected for long.

The poison has existed for long in his body.

He took the medication.

Hot and cold energies are fighting in his body.

Of course he couldn't stand it.

When the two energies

coordinate with his inner power,

he’ll be healed.

Leader. He isn’t reliable.

Lock him up,

in case he escapes.

Leader. Leader.

Chief Guardian's pulse is better.

Of course.

I told you he’d be fine.

Let him have a good sleep tonight.

Tomorrow

he’ll be fine for sure.

Zhusha.

Send the antidotes to all the sects.

Sure.

Chequ.

Go and notify all the clinics in Peace County.

Yes.

Liuli.

Make the rest of herbs into antidotes

for the infected disciples.

Sure.

Beauty.

Drowning your sorrow.

Why not call me along?

Let's talk about your worries.

Your business is my concern.

Your wine

is also mine.

Just one sip of your wine.

How could you be so petty?

Are you thinking about that...

That man?

When will you go to see him?

Feng She.

You want a drink?

That’s it.

The way you drink

is quite like someone.

Really?

When I was young,

I thought wine

was bitter

and astringent.

I didn’t understand

why people drank this stuff

into their belly.

But now,

I seem to know it.

Many things

in the world

are more bitter

than wine.

Drinking

is like being human.

Isn’t it good to be carefree?

Your father knows this.

But I don’t think you do.

How so?

You’re drinking alone here.

You must have unsolved worries.

You want to solve your worries

but you don’t know how to do it.

Am I right?

I don’t know much about the martial arts world.

But I do know

we should be grateful.

You’re in the Hall of Flames,

yet your mind isn’t.

I hate myself so much.

Why am I so useless

that I need others to bear everything for me?

Actually,

I envy you.

Do you?

What do you envy me for?

You should pay what you owe.

That’s exactly what life is.

And that’s why life is fun.

Not like me.

My father abandoned me.

Man Feiyue adopted me.

That’s how I got here.

She used me, tricked me,

and never taught me love and righteousness.

I don’t even know what I'm living for.

Luckily, I met you guys,

and get to feel

life is fun.

Do you feel

you are lonely?

You can get used to it over time.

Compared with me,

you have such a big palace,

your father,

brother,

sister,

and...

All in all,

you have the happiness

dreamed of by most people in the world.

So,

why are you complaining about yourself here?

Be carefree.

Your choice is nothing about right or wrong,

but about your inner heart.

Nothing about right or wrong,

but about your inner heart.

Thank you.

Your words

make me feel much better.

Don't thank me.

Thank the wine.

Muyuan.

Xuezhi.

How come you get up?

Do you feel better?

Much better.

Xuezhi.

You saved my life.

Thanks.

You may thank me, not her.

You should know

you were saved by my good skills.

You should thank me.

That's right.

Thanks to Young Master Feng,

I survived the epidemic.

Young Master Feng?

This title sounds nice.

Buddy.

You do have a way with words.

Who is your buddy?

You want a spanking?

How dare you disrespect our Chief Guardian?

I didn’t disrespect him.

Your leader said this is my home.

I called him buddy. Is it wrong?

I did say that.

Feng She helped us

cure the epidemic and did a great job.

The Divine Spirit Temple was gone.

He has nowhere to go.

So, I let him stay in the Hall of Flames.

You hear that?

From now on, this is my home.

You are

my sister.

I am not.

Sister. Where are you going?

Don’t follow me.

Sister!

Muyuan.

You just recovered. Take more rest.

No hurry to deal with affairs in the Hall.

I can’t rest.

I’ve rested so many days.

Tons of work piled up.

Alright. Let me help you.

OK.

[Pavilion of Flames]

Grandpa.

Muyuan.

You haven’t recovered.

Why are you out?

I’m fine.

In a few days,

I’ll be fully recovered.

Great.

If anything happens to you,

I don’t know

how to face your late father.

You thought too much, grandpa.

The leader got the cure of the epidemic

and made a great contribution.

She saved me

and many other people.

She finally did something right.

The leader

saved my life.

A life for a life.

We may let go of the feud

between

our two families.

Muyuan.

I know

my godfather killed my father.

You dwell on it all the time.

No matter what,

the leader

shouldn’t be blamed for the guilt.

Moreover,

she saved my life.

It never ends, if revenge breeds revenge.

I think

we should let it go.

Muyuan.

I understand

these things

even if you don't tell me.

I’m too old

to take care of these things.

Go back and rest.

[Sword Manor]

Leader! Leader!

What's the matter?

Chong Xuezhi practiced Nine Moves of Lotus God

and Lotus Sutra during her seclusion.

She wiped out the Divine Spirit Temple

and figured out the truth of the epidemic.

It’s spread all over the world

that the epidemic has a cure.

What?

Yes.

Nine Moves of Lotus God?

Wiped out the Divine Spirit Temple?

The truth about the epidemic?

She’s awesome.

Only in one year,

her martial arts made such a great progress.

It won’t take her too long

to master the ninth move.

If the message is true,

Chong Xuezhi’s prestige will be improved

among the people.

The Hall of Flames

will restore its state in the world.

Let me see the leader!

Let me see the leader!

The witch Chong Xuezhi practiced Nine Moves of Lotus God

and killed my leader.

Mr. Lin, please uphold justice for my leader.

Tell me the details.

The other day,

the leader died suddenly.

We searched for the killer all around.

Then we learned

that Chong Xuezhi mastered the Nine Moves,

and we got to know

it’s she who killed the leader.

Did you see

Chong Xuezhi show up?

No.

Please look at the five-petal lotus.

In the world,

only she can play the Nine Moves.

Who else could it be if not her?

That said,

you didn’t see it yourself.

Don’t jump to the conclusion.

Rest assured.

I’ll do my utmost to look into it

and catch the killer.

Once I figure it out,

I’ll give you a satisfactory answer.

But

I don’t hope you act rashly

before I find out the killer.

Thank you, Mr. Lin.

My leader died suspiciously.

We hope Mr. Lin can figure it out

and avenge his death.

Qingmei.

Come with me.

Qingmei.

You met Mr. Tie Xiao

before he died.

You should know something.

Leave alone

the clue of the Nine Moves of Lotus God.

What do you think of

Tie Xiao’s death?

Mr. Tie

is narrow-minded

and rude.

I think

he could be killed by his enemies.

There’s another possibility

that

the murderer

asked him for the Green Spring Elixir

and was rejected,

which made the murderer kill him.

If the murderer

was Chong Xuezhi,

what do you think

we should do?

This case must be investigated thoroughly.

If it was done by Chong Xuezhi,

we shouldn't cover her up.

But if Mr. Tie did things wrong at first,

we shouldn’t get Xuezhi wronged.

I know.

You may go back.

I’m leaving.

Chong Xuezhi wiped out the Divine Spirit Temple.

What?

Chong Xuezhi was in seclusion for one year

and practiced Lotus Wing?

The fifth move is extremely powerful.

It’s unrivaled.

Father.

How should we cope with it?

How?

You tell me how to cope with it!

The owner of Lotus Wing will rule the world.

You tell me how to cope with it!

[Pavilion of Flames]

The Hall of Flames is so desolate.

There isn’t anyone here at night.

Boring.

Chief Guardian Muyuan...

It hurts! It hurts!

Ouch! It hurts!

What were you doing here

sneakily?

I was just so bored.

I come to play with the beauty.

Play?

It’s so late

and you come to play with her.

You think it’s appropriate?

Feng She. Listen up.

The leader told you to feel at home.

It doesn't mean

you can do whatever you want.

Understand?

Chief Guardian Muyuan.

You care so much about the beauty,

guarding her day and night.

Do you

have feelings to her?

None of your business.

It's none of my business.

I'm just asking.

I think she’s close

to that Master Shangguan.

You don't know it, do you?

You don’t have a say

in the leader’s affairs.

The Hall of Flames has its own rules.

Don’t you think I’ll indulge you

because you saved my life.

Remember.

If I see you

come to Zhaoxue Tower again

at night,

I’ll beat you.

OK. Got it.

[Five Aggregates and Delusion]

[Universal Vajrapani Heart Methods]

[Vimalakirti Sutra]

Heart methods

are the wisdom about mind.

Even though you’re extremely gifted,

it still takes time

to make achievements.

If you want to master the heart methods,

don’t be

too anxious.

If you’re impatient,

your inner power will not be improved.

Over time

it’ll be a knot in your heart.

Lotus Sutra is a masterpiece

integrating the essence of all heart methods.

One book of heart methods

can’t replace the Lotus Sutra.

You should learn more books.

I’ve picked for you.

Start with these books.

Don't be anxious.

The heart method is different from martial arts.

Whatever you are doing,

you need to be at peace like still water.

Sir.

We may

end today’s training.

Qingmei, you’re back.

It’s late. Where did you go?

Why are you here?

I cooked some dishes.

I want you to try them.

The dishes are cold.

I’m gonna heat them up.

No. No need.

You’ve never cooked.

How come today you...

I’m learning to grow up.

And

I want to do something for you

on my own.

Why do you say so?

Actually,

I just want to

help you by your side

no matter what troubles you have.

Whatever you want,

I’ll do it at any price,

as long as

you are healthy

and happy

every day.

That matters the most.

Try them.

Sure.

How is it?

Is it good?

Did you forget to use salt?

It seems so.

[Imperial Advisor’s Mansion]

My father sent me here

to thank you, Imperial Advisor.

Hadn’t you worshiped the Gods

and eliminated the plague,

people

would suffer to no end.

Your Highness, I’m flattered.

My tricks

are only suitable for fortune telling

and worshiping gods and ancestors.

Actually, the plague wasn’t

ended by Gods.

It’s human-made.

It's the first time I’ve heard of this.

Do you know who it is?

I’d like to meet this person.

The one you want to meet

is exactly my son,

Shangguan Tou.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Skip the etiquette.

Tell me

how you ended the epidemic.

On my father’s orders,

I went to Peace County to investigate

and found the origin of the epidemic

was the Divine Spirit Temple.

But rest assured, Your Highness.

I’ve settled it, and found the cure

with some friends.

Good.

From the short words

of Master Shangguan,

I can feel

you’re a righteous hero.

Imperial Advisor.

Like father,

like son.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Master Shangguan

is a first-rate talent.

I’m sure you will be

a backbone of the court.

Your Highness.

My son

isn’t an official yet.

Well,

could you come

help me in my East Palace?

How about

being my assistant?

Thank you, Your Highness.

It's just that

I have no such ambition.

I may

let you down.

Your Highness.

My son...

My son is inexperienced

and incapable.

I will

cultivate him meticulously.

Imperial Advisor, you misunderstand him.

In my opinion,

I think

your son

is aspirational,

but indifferent to fame and wealth.

If so,

I won’t push him.

But

I hope you can consider it.

Imperial Advisor.

I will

take my leave.

Tou.

Are you all right?

Don’t worry.

It’s just a minor injury.

Would you like

to see the Imperial Physicians?

No, father.

My injury

cannot be cured

by Imperial Physicians in the palace.

I’m going back to the Moon Valley

and see if Herbal Medicine Master

can help me.

Tou.

You did a good job

in this epidemic.

I think

you may rest more days at home.

You can go

when you get better.

Father.

It’s my duty

to share your worries.

It's just that

I’m used to the free life.

I’m afraid I can’t

get used to the life here.

Father, please try to understand me.

All right.

As you wish.

[Pavilion of Flames]

Freeze!

Help! Help! Don’t hit me!

Stop!

Come back!

What are you doing?

-Stop! -Beauty. Help!

-Come back! -Help! Help!

-Come here. -What's going on?

What’s going on?

What’s wrong? What’s wrong?

He climbed over the palace wall yesterday.

We’re catching him.

Climbed over the wall?

I was wronged.

I went out to have fun yesterday

and came back late.

When I was out yesterday,

you changed the order of herbs in my pharmacy.

I had to clean up all day.

Alright. Alright.

I was wronged again.

My gums swelled and I went to get medicine.

Look.

Beauty.

You said

the Hall of Flames is my home.

I can do whatever I want.

That’s because the leader pitied on you.

Alright. Stop blaming him.

Feng She

was a disciple of the Divine Spirit Temple.

He tried to right his wrong,

yet nearly got killed by Man Feiyue.

I know

he has many vices,

but he is just bad-tempered.

He isn’t a bad guy.

Besides,

he’s been making medicine for us.

Look,

he did something good

more or less. Right?

You hear that?

For my sake,

you may give him

more time

to get used to it.

What

do you say?

OK. OK.

Yeah. It’s cured at one go.

Yeah.

Go.

[Pavilion of Flames]

Excuse me.

What are you doing here?

I’m here to see your leader

and have a look at the Hall of Flames.

What's your name, sir?

Lin Changran.

Lin Changran?

Mr. Lin.

Greetings, Mr. Lin.

You know me?

-I heard of you. -I heard of you.

-We heard of you a lot. -The leader is inside.

-Please. -Please.

These arrows

are for the court.

It’s originally a specialty in Longquan.

Now

we can make it as well.

Xuezhi.

Uncle!

Uncle, what brings you here?

I’m here to congratulate you.

Mr. Lin.

Congratulate me?

You wiped out the Divine Spirit Temple

and found the cure of the epidemic.

People outside

see you as the Goddess saving all the beings.

Uncle.

You are not here

just congratulating me, right?

Of course not.

I’m gonna stay here for more days

and see how you have restored

the Hall of Flames.

Great.

I will

make some good dishes for you.

Can you cook?

At least she won’t get dishes burnt.

Xuezhi.

Muyuan.

Actually, I have

something important to tell you.

There are no outsiders now.

I can tell you without concern.

Uncle. What is it?

I thought

you didn’t have to

learn too much about your fathers.

You’d have burden

if you knew it.

But if I didn’t tell you anything,

you’d never know

the truth.

I thought it over

and still decided to tell you.

Mr. Lin.

I know

you have your plans.

Since we can’t change

the things of our fathers,

why not just let them go?
