Hydra hired aid to produce a weapon that would guarantee world domination,

that could make all of baron strucker's deepest desires,

his greatest wishes, come true.

And the cosmic cube will do that

in a very real way.

What's the catch?

In order to complete the cube for hydra,

aim will need more money.

I'll get back to you.

Sorry to interrupt, boys,

but I got a quick question before I take you all down.

a million dollars for anyone that brings me his bow.

Ow!

Drones, prepare to disembark.

I will destroy the avenger.

You can certainly try, freak show.

Can't...

Reach.

Retreat! Retreat!

Well, Clint, you really out did yourself this time.

Attention, Hawkeye.

You're to stand down by order of shield.

Director fury wants a word with you Barton.

Good, because I want a word with him, too.

The last thing I need is you sticking your nose

into a shield operation.

If I recall correctly, you quit.

We have the hydra situation under control.

Or we did,

until you showed up.

Under control?

Is that supposed to funny?

If you've got things under control, then where's black widow?

You're tapped into every phone, camera, and satellite on the planet,

and you still can't find her?

Face it fury, shield is dropping the ball big time.

Back off, Barton.

You should know better than anyone how resourceful the widow is.

She was your partner.

You think I forgot?

Leave widow and hydra to shield.

If you avengers want to go after super-villains, that's fine.

But hydra is too complicated.

You can't just take them on one at a time.

Cut off one head, two more take its place.

That's hydra.

Okay, I'm horrified to say so,

but I have to agree with fury on this one.

You have got to be kidding me.

Look, the black widow betrayed you.

She sold you out. I get it. I've been there.

But hydra is a quagmire.

If the avengers go in, we'll just make things worse.

Really? Did they teach you that in business school?

Ignoring that.

Look, we've got our hands full with the breakout.

You have to look at the big picture.

Not get caught up in revenge.

Let it go, Clint.

You need me to save the world, fine, I'll be there.

But I don't need shield for this and I don't need the avengers.

I'll find widow on my own.

Well, at least he didn't punch anyone.

Hawkeye,

wait.

Oh, now you talk.

Thanks for backing me up in there, team.

You're letting revenge blind you.

I can't believe you, of all people, are telling me not to go after hydra.

You think that's what I'm telling you?

What I'm saying is that if you take on hydra like this...

Alone,

you won't come back.

I know how isolating mistrust is.

I know that some battles must be fought alone.

What?

We know fury sent you to keep us busy,

to get us out of the way.

We're not after scraps, birdie.

We're after the black widow.

And to get to widow, we need to get to strucker.

If you knew, why'd you let me come along?

Huh. The costume didn't hurt.

I have the signal.

What signal?

The signal from the tracer I planted on the grim reaper,

when I was sticking my nose into shield business.

You're choice, you want to fight the good fight

or be a shield stooge?

Let's go.

I met with the fat man. He won't stand in our way.

Miss me?

I never met a man so tired of being alive.

Agh!

Agh!

You take Mr. happy. I'll handle these guys.

Hawkeye.

Hawkeye!

An avenger. Put them on the transport.

Baron strucker is gonna enjoy this.

They're in.

Mockingbird wasn't supposed to be part of this.

Hawkeye's plan is sound.

They are more valuable to hydra to alive

for now.

She just seemed like a nice lady.

So the guy says, "I don't know,

but his face rings a bell."

Ah, man, this collar really hurts.

Don't.

That was a good joke.

You know, this is a pretty big gamble even with your avenger pals tracking us.

The reapers tracking signal has stopped transmitting.

We have lost radar and visual on the hydra ship.

They seemed open to negotiation.

I have begun talks with count nefaria and his maggia,

Of course they are. Word spreads of hydra's power.

Enough.

Reaper.

Would you like the good news first or the bad?

The bad news is that modoc want's more money.

The good news

is that hydra's captured an avenger.

This world will know hydra's power.

They will know that not even the avengers can stand against us.

Baron,

an avenger as a captive could be useful.

A bargaining chip, if we were to ever need it.

We should consider this.

Take them to the dungeons.

You lost hawkeye?

We're not picking anything up, cap.

I'll expand the satellite view.

I can't believe you two were helping him.

I told hawkeye to let it go.

Maybe you remember that?

It sounded more like n suggestion than an order.

Wakandan elders teach

that the line between revenge and avenge is easily blurred.

You see what I have to put up with?

So I'm thinking we're in big trouble.

Hmm, you think?

Yeah. Yeah, I figured they'd blow it somehow.

Hawkeye?

- Okay, that was impressive. - Eh, I grew up in a circus.

Something to keep hydra busy.

But uh, now...

Now what?

We believe there's a chance the cosmic cube may actually work.

This changes things.

Call baron strucker.

Let reaper know modoc wants another meeting.

My lord, hawkeye and mockingbird have escaped.

What?

We need to bring in the rest of the avengers.

Thor and wasp can help search.

We have to find hawkeye.

I have faith that hawkeye will find a way to...

Contact us.

Is it... it is an unknown signal.

But on the avengers' frequency,

coming from the middle of the ocean.

Faith, Captain.

You're just a little off center.

Okay, I'll take widow.

You take the other 140.

Move!

Morse! Bobbi!

- What? - I'm sorry, okay?

I'm sorry I dragged you into this.

You got to run. Don't look back.

I'll hold them as long as I can.

What?

Hawkeye.

You guys are really late.

Ha.

You could never take me hand to hand, Clint.

Goodbye, hawkeye.

Yes, you are right.

But first,

hawkeye will pay for the loss of hydra island.

Mockingbird, wait!

Hawkeye, we have to...

Where's hawkeye?

I am sorry, Clint.

Natasha?

Hawkeye.

We must go.

Wait... wait, where's...

Avengers, do you copy?

This is Nick fury.

I've got mockingbird.

Get out of there!

I told you to stay out of it.

You were a shield agent, one of my best.

You should have trusted me.

We did take down hydra island, Nick.

And we captured the grim reaper.

I didn't want hydra island taken down.

Not yet.

I am on top of this.

I will deal with the black widow.

But if I catch you or the avengers sticking your noses

in shield business again,

there will be no more avengers.

Am I clear?

Crystal.

- I want to talk to mockingbird. - No, you're dismissed.

Iron man implied that he would like to have

a word with us when we return.

That sounds like fun.

Look, I'm sorry, you guys.

I didn't mean to bring shield and stark down on you like this.

But thanks. Thanks for having my back.

That's what being on a team means.

I can't figure it out. Why'd she do it?

Why'd Natasha save me?

Tell me again what happened.

As you were finishing off hawkeye, the black panther attacked.

One of his energy daggers hit you.

I got you out, but reaper and viper were captured.

We were lucky, my baron.

What is this?

Aim is returning the money hydra has already paid.

The cosmic cube was a failure.

We will present you with options for a new weapon soon.

You have our apologies.

What was that all about?

He is lying.

What does it mean?

It means we've got a big problem.
