My wife and I have

who we adopted.

They're absolutely incredible.

A couple of days later, I go,

We went
from literally not knowing

where income
was going to come from

to packing up,
moving to Vegas,

and headlining a show
on the Strip.

When I was a little kid, I had
this belief deep inside me

that I had the ability
to impact the lives of others

in a way that mattered.

And then I met a lady
who always felt the need

to remind me that the only
thing that I had was ADHD,

a minor version of Tourette's,

and a whole lot of people who
had no idea what to do with me.

What could this anxious,
unfocused kid possibly do

to change the world?

How could I impact lives
in a way that mattered...

When I didn't even matter?

- Her words created a barrier
that I couldn't see past

and I didn't think I would
ever be able to break through.

But then fast-forward to when
I was about 18 years old.

I met a man named Keith,
whose words also changed me.

Keith became a mentor to me,
and day after day,

he would speak words to me

that reminded me
of who I really was.

Terry, Heidi, I want to show
you guys something.

If you guys could each grab
a piece of this.

Look, Keith single-handedly
reached into my life

and removed every negative word

that I ever believed
about myself.

through this barrier

When I was eight years old, my
nan bought me a monkey puppet,

and that's
when I first started

getting into ventriloquism.

- Initially, Jamie
didn't really like Chuck.

And he rang me at work

and said,
"I don't want a chicken."

And then about
ten minutes later,

he sent me a video
of him and Chuck singing,

and then that was it.

The rest is history.

- Jamie, did you think
in your wildest dreams

that you'd be standing here
at the final right now?

- Not really, no.

a moment when they announced

that he was going off.

And at that point,
I really just wanted to run
