[Once We Get Married]

[Episode 12 | Your Birthday and My Store]

[Kangel Classified Laundry]

[Closed today]

Isn't this store run by Gu Xixi's family?

Why is it closed?

Aunt, hello.

Sorry, we are closed today.

It's you.

Aunt, do you still remember me?

Of course I do.

You are Xixi's good friend.

You helped her out at the restaurant that day.

Thank you.

No problem.

I passed by today because

I heard from Xixi that you opened a laundry.

Why is it closed suddenly?

The old dryer is broken.

We don't have enough cash

to buy a new one.

So we closed it for now.

Aunt, well,

a manufacturer I work with has some special dryers.

- I'll ask him to send one here tomorrow. - No, no. I can't take it.

Even if you are Xixi's friend,

I can't always trouble you.

Besides, if Xixi knows it, she will blame me.

I can't let you do this.

Aunt, I'm not helping you.

Instead, I need your help.

How can I help you?

Well, I'm running an e-commerce platform

and there are some manufacturers I work with.

The brand is new.

But don't worry, the quality is one of the best.

I've been looking for laundries as pilots.

I don't know if you can help me.

- Really? - Yes.

Okay. Thank you.

You're welcome.

By the way,

I heard from Xixi that we are from the same place, right?

Yes.

I'll ask Xixi to bring you some hometown snacks later. All right?

Great. Thank you, Aunt.

Look at you. You don't need to say that to me.

Let's go over there to sit down and have some water.

- Okay. - Come on.

Don't worry.

With Gu Xixi's legal knowledge, she won't be aware of it at all.

We only need to ask the Law Department

to add a binding clause to the contract.

In this way, although she is the nominal manager,

she doesn't have the right to make decisions or gain benefits.

If she takes the power of attorney,

does it mean she can't run her own brand?

In theory, yes.

But we can make up to her financially.

I don't want to lie to her anymore.

I need to give it further thought.

What's wrong?

It's just a cold. I'll be all right after some rest.

Well, you should have a meeting with those departments

and prepare for the acquisition.

Sichen.

Why are you coughing?

I'm not feeling well.

Did you catch a cold?

Just a little cold.

I'll sleep it off.

Where's Chen Fei'ang?

He went to discuss with Alex's team about the acquisition.

Don't let it get worse.

I'll go to buy some medicine for you.

Sit down. Stay with me for a while.

What's this?

Oh, right.

It's your birthday today.

How do you know it's my birthday today?

Did you forget that you sent me your information and asked me to memorize it all?

You only prepared such a small cake for my birthday?

I came back too late.

All the cake stores are closed.

But I'm really lucky.

I met a little boy on my way back

who happened to be celebrating his birthday, too.

You took the cake from a little boy?

Yes.

No, it's not like I took it from him.

I sang him a whole birthday song.

Then he kindly shared a piece with me.

I also want to listen to the birthday song.

Make a wish.

You sing first.

Okay, I'll sing for you.

So pretty.

Stop looking in the mirror. You are already beautiful.

I like it so much.

Thank you, my good girlfriend.

Love you.

All right.

Let me see if you took any stylish photos of the scenery in Milan.

It's not stylish,

but I did take some landscape photos.

Let me see.

Not right.

Something is going on here.

No. What are you talking about? Don't be ridiculous.

Look at this one.

He looks at you affectionately and you watch him affectionately.

That's not true.

And this one.

He is holding you with his face red.

Doesn't that mean anything?

Enough.

It's just a normal photo.

Right? It's...

Impossible.

Check this out. You can't fake it.

Gu Xixi, tell me the truth. Is there something going on between you two?

Do you like him?

How is the sample production going?

The sample? It's done.

You know what, it's perfect. Take a look.

How is it?

Literally,

I'm a genius.

But, we have just started.

The difficult part hasn't come yet.

Look. See.

The sincere noodles. The wholehearted steak.

And the "love of my life" wine.

You are good at this.

You do it a lot at home?

Occasionally.

For whom?

Sichen.

Are you two into this?

Well...

Well,

I think

it's time for us to talk about our exes.

Well, Ruona.

I know you may have heard some rumors.

I was young and ignorant at that time.

Don't be angry.

We are adults.

It's very normal for us to have a few exes and relationships.

You don't need to hide it from me.

Are you sure you won't be jealous?

Yes.

I'll say it then.

Well, I'll start from my fifth grade in elementary school.

She was my first girlfriend.

Next is my tenth girlfriend.

My tenth relationship was beautiful,

but a little bleak.

It was lovely at first.

She was the daughter of our head teacher.

Then it's my fifteenth girlfriend.

She was your last secretary.

She wasn't my type at first.

She was chubby...

- Enough. - with big eyes.

I didn't feel that way about her.

But there was one moment she went straight to my heart.

I...

Well, Ruona.

What about your boyfriends?

You've met my first boyfriend.

Then it's you.

It's me right after him?

Yeah.

Ruona, considering I'm so frank

and I've confessed everything since my fifth grade in elementary school,

shouldn't you give me an extra ten points?

Indeed.

However, your first relationship is too early

and you have too many exes, so I'll take twenty points from you.

Twenty?

Wait, you have to let me explain.

Didn't you say

you wouldn't be jealous?

Yeah?

Am I jealous? Do you see me being jealous?

Why are they here?

Don't touch them.

This is my money-gathering place.

Aren't these two little bears for us?

I'll share some luck with you.

Am I a good friend?

Your luck?

Don't look down on me.

My store will open soon.

Maybe you will beg me to join Why Mall when I get rich.

Gu Xixi,

you have to realize

that there is a difference between writing a business plan

and running a physical store.

It doesn't matter. I'll overcome whatever difficulties there may be.

Are you so confident?

Of course not.

But I think I should try my best for my dream.

Is your dream that important to you?

Of course.

I've been dreaming about having my own store since I was a kid.

So no matter what happens, I must make it happen.

Mom.

You're back.

Come on. Sit down.

Mom, I brought you a present.

You didn't forget me during your honeymoon.

What are you talking about?

Why are you looking at me like that?

Look how happy you are. You are different now.

Tell me, did you spend a really sweet honeymoon with Sichen in Milan?

What's sweet? We are just ordinary

Mom. Where is that noisy machine?

When did you change it?

It's completely broken.

Luckily, Mo came over that day and asked his friend to send one here.

He said it's a special offer and it's very cheap.

Which Mo?

Mo Zixin.

I heard from him that you are neighbors now, right?

Yeah. Wait for me.

What's this?

Here.

Mom, you don't have to give me something in return.

What's this? Mud snails and green dumplings?

Thank you, Mom. I know...

You greedy girl.

Look, these are for Mo to thank him for helping me.

Remember, don't eat it yourself.

Senior.

- You're back. - Um.

How was your trip to Milan?

Not bad.

It's for you.

You got a gift for me?

Green dumplings and mud snails?

You made it?

My mom made it.

She wants to thank you for changing the dryer.

It's not a problem.

I haven't had green dumplings for a long time.

Give your mom my thanks.

If you want to thank her, you should say it yourself.

I'm not your mouthpiece.

I haven't told her about it yet.

She has been totally focusing on her store these days.

It's not a good time to tell her now.

I'm thinking if there is a perfect solution to this.

People are more receptive to requests when their wishes are met.

I suggest you use this method.

Wishes are met?

What do you know?

It's Nianxi. I worship him.

He is a comic book artist.

Okay.

Mr. Yin.

I'm honored that I went to the same junior high school with your wife.

We had some stories at that time.

I accidentally knew the contract between you and Miss Gu.

I want to help her as much as I can.

It's you.

You recognized me.

Mo Zixin.

I don't have time for that.

I am Nianxi.

Hello, Xiaoya. What's wrong?

Our store will open soon.

Are you not nervous or excited?

If I didn't clean it five times, confirm the display eight times

and check the water and electricity ten times,

I think I should be very excited now.

Yes, yes. You did a lot, Designer Gu.

Of course I'm excited.

Do you know how long I've been thinking about this?

I've been dreaming about having my own store since middle school.

Now it's finally happening.

I'm too excited to sleep now.

Is your dream

that important to you?

Of course.

I've been dreaming about having my own store since I was a kid.

So...

no matter what happens, I must make it happen.

See you at the company in half an hour.

Ask the heads of all departments to attend the meeting.

Let me reiterate it one last time.

Alex will arrive next Wednesday.

I need the Investment Department

to give me a detailed acquisition plan by the end of tomorrow.

Amy, have those artists you found meet me tomorrow.

I want to choose in person.

They are all abroad tomorrow.

I'm afraid...

Book flights for them now and get them back.

Yes.

[Party A requires Gu Xixi to be the brand manager.]

And I need the Purchasing Department

to choose five stores in the high-end business districts.

Finish it tonight.

The preliminary decoration needs to be completed next Wednesday.

By then these five stores

will be the concept stores to show Alex.

- That's it for the meeting. - Okay.

That's what it is.

Hold on.

Let me figure it out.

Alex wants you to be in charge of Enjoy?

Oh my God. Oh my God.

Am I dreaming?

It's not the point.

The point is,

we stayed in Milan for so long, but he didn't tell me.

Will you agree to do it?

If I agree to do it,

I can't run my own store.

So I can't.

But I think Yin Sichen won't let you go.

You signed a contract to sell yourself.

There are a million ways he can do to make you agree.

Maybe Yin Sichen

won't do that.

What about Miss Gu?

I haven't told her about it.

You haven't?

I saw her working so hard for her store these days.

I can't ask her

to give up her dream.

What about Alex?

No one can take it if his proposal is rejected directly.

I'll try my best

to provide some alternatives

and tell him the truth after I get his approval.

By then, it won't matter whether Gu Xixi is in this or not.

If he insists...

I will let Gu Xixi join in his brand in another way.

What if he refuses?

Then I'll give up.

You didn't give up easily before.

Because there is something

I want more

than Alex's brand in my heart.

Never mind. I'll ask him about it.

Fortunately, you found the mail.

Otherwise, you will be sold out without knowing it.

He seems to be back. I'll hang up first.

- Gu Xixi. - Yeah?

Don't read Nianxi's comics anymore.

Why?

Come with me.

You...

Is it a special day today?

You've been busy opening a store these days.

I guess you haven't had a good meal.

It's a treat for you.

A night snack.

Why did you prepare a candlelight dinner?

You have too many questions.

Just eat.

I dare not.

Do you want me

to feed you?

No, I'll eat myself.

How are you preparing for the opening?

When does it open?

Next Wednesday.

Next Wednesday?

What's wrong?

Can you

postpone the opening date?

I remember it's not written in the contract that I can't open a store.

Yes.

It's not written in the contract,

but can you postpone it?

Can I ask why?

I have some trouble recently.

I need to fix it and it takes some time.

After I solve it,

I will help you with opening the store.

But I've selected a store and paid the deposit.

I know.

It's at No. 48, Liuyin Street.

The location is not good.

Although it has large passenger flow there, the spending power is low.

And the factory you chose

started out making sheets.

They have no experience in high-end clothing.

Don't worry.

The rent and the deposit

are on me.

You don't want me to open the store, do you?

I didn't mean that.

I just don't want it to be now.

- Isn't it the same? - There is a difference.

I support you to open a store,

but it's not a good time now.

I see.

You've made your choice.

What do you mean?

In order to acquire Enjoy,

you decided to give up on my dream, right?

You knew it?

I saw it by accident.

But you've made the decision for me.

Why are you hiding it from me?

I just think it's not your responsibility to take this.

When I knew it, I didn't plan to tell you.

I can solve it.

I just need some time, Gu Xixi.

Please trust me.

Thank you for the candlelight dinner,

but I'll keep my store no matter what.

But I've renovated the house and I've paid for the first month.

I've paid the deposit.

Well, I'll pay you more as the price they offered you.

It's Why Mall Group.

They are rich. You can't compete with them.

Why Mall Group?

No, it's impossible.

Little girl.

There are other stores here. Just find another one.

I'm sorry.

Okay.

Hello, Senior.

What's wrong?

You don't sound right.

I have a little problem here.

The landlord of the store I chose suddenly changed his mind,

but I've renovated the house

and the furniture I ordered will be delivered tomorrow.

I have to find another suitable store today.

Okay, I'll hang up first. I need to figure out a solution.

These stores didn't meet my expectations.

Are there any other options?

Here are some updates from the agencies.

I've narrowed it down to three stores that might be suitable.

[Pan's Barbecue Tianyuan Food Market] The first one is located

[Qinhong Community Xinsifang Food Plaza] in a busy business district. The building

and the infrastructure are old.

The second one has good hardware, but the location is remote.

If it's for commercial use, it may affect the passenger flow.

The third one has a good location, and the consumer group is suitable,

but the store is relatively small.

However, it's close to your neighborhood.

Okay, let's take a look over there.

Okay.

Hello, Senior.

Hey, Xixi.

I came to a friend of mine this afternoon.

He has a storefront for rent.

Do you want to come over and take a look?

Really?

Okay. I'll be there.

[Two days later]

Senior.

Senior.

Looks like you are the boss here from now on.

Thank you for introducing this to me.

The price is good and it's well located.

It even comes with basic decoration which saves me a lot of trouble.

You don't have to say that.

It's no big deal.

I still need to thank you.

This is your store.

I've also invested in it,

only a tiny part though.

Thanks to your company's start-up program,

I can open my store as planned.

Therefore, I can give you more shares.

No need. But you have to promise me to run this store well.

Don't worry. I will manage it well.

Mr. Mo, sorry. We should leave now.

There is a conference call later.

I'm leaving then.

Remember to ask me for help if you have any problems.

Bye-bye, Senior.

Bye-bye.

How is the brand research I asked you to do last time?

This is the research result of new brands in fashion.

We looked into twenty brands in total and we narrowed it down to five.

There are two international brands and three domestic brands.

Take a look.

- CICI? - Yes.

This brand was just an online store at first.

They opened a physical store recently

and they are working with Wenye Group.

It was just officially announced.

And there's a tip

that Alex chose Gu Xixi to be the manager.

Alex chose her to be the manager?

Yes. My girlfriend is Alex's assistant.

She said the news is true.

How could Alex choose her?

If Gu Xixi becomes the manager of Enjoy,

Why Mall's fate

will be closely related to her.

I mean, this woman is good.

She actually used such a way to keep Yin Sichen by her side.

Hello, Huahua.

Are you still working on that social networking site?

I have some news here. It's absolutely reliable.

Check the Weibo.

[Trending Topics in Jiangbei Alex Chose Gu Xixi]

Wait.

Who else knows that Alex chose Gu Xixi

except you and me?

It's a trade secret.

Before it's settled, no one else will know it.

As for Alex,

it was just him and his assistant that day.

Could it be her?

What is going on?

What do you mean?

Don't you know what you did?

What did I do?

Why Mall's acquisition of Enjoy faces a crisis of trust.

Gu Xixi rejects Alex for her original brand...

All right, stop reading it.

I said I can solve it.

Just give me some time.

Why did you do it?

You released such news

so that you can open your own store.

I didn't do it.

I'm not as despicable as you are.

I'm despicable?

Yes.

You can do anything to make me do what you want.

Thanks to you,

I've moved my store to a new place.

What did you say?

A new place?

Don't you know it?

Because you don't want me to open a store, you took a cheap shot

to take my store from me.

I already knew it.

The landlord has told me,

but it's not important now.

I had nothing to do with the news about Alex.

I didn't do it.

I also want to believe that you didn't do it,

but I can't think of anyone except you,

and you're the only one who's benefited from this.

Now the whole world knows it.

The talented, independent and individual designer,

Gu Xixi rejected Alex

and established her own brand.

I'm sorry...

that I can't live my life according to your plan.

Although I rejected Alex,

that's not something I would do.

It's not your business now, Gu Xixi.

You're free.
