[A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College]

[Episode 21]

It looks like no one dares to come up.

If there's no one else is challenging, I'll let both of them compete, then.

The winner can marry my daughter, Sang Qi.

Song Luo Tian of the Song family will challenge too!

Wait, Sister, you even sell me out.

Quiet.

Song Luo Tian, you already have a wife.

Have you forgotten?

Yes, that's right.

Deputy Chief, let Song Luo Tian compete with Zhuo Wen Yuan.

Qi just said that Song Luo Tian is already married. He can't take part.

They're right. How can I even beat them?

Stop waiting. Let's begin.

I've been waiting for this moment.

I'll announce the rule of this tournament.

Anyone who falls or falls outside of the ring loses!

Incredible!

If I knew, I wouldn't have left it for Father to decide this kind of thing.

It doesn't matter who wins.

I will only marry Deputy Chief.

Nice!

Great skills!

I thought men would express their love to the girl they like before fighting.

Instead of saying anything, they start fighting right away.

Lian Pian, you read too many storytelling scripts.

A real man doesn't chatter.

This is fine too.

At least, they're willing to take the risk for the one they love.

Nice!

Why aren't you making your move?

- Amazing! - Nice one!

- Marvelous! - Awesome!

I like balance in power.

If I make my move, will you be able to take it?

- Great move! - Remarkable!

Deputy Chief!

- Splendid! - Nice!

Deputy Chief!

- That was awesome! - Magnificent!

Young Master.

Deputy Chief, are you all right?

Yan Yun Zhi wins.

- Good! - Awesome!

- Nice fight! - Incredible!

- Great skills! - Awesome!

Great!

Let's go.

Wait a minute.

You indeed defeated Zhuo Wen Yuan.

But you haven't gone up against the strongest.

Father, he has defeated Zhuo Wen Yuan.

This tournament is already over. What else do you want?

Qi,

it's okay.

But...

Grand Commandant Sang, please.

Father! The tournament is over!

I... I...

If you want to hit him, you can hit me.

- I didn't even use any strength. - Hit me!

Hit me!

Qi. Qi, I'm fine. I'm really okay.

Look.

I'm fine.

Sure enough, Grand Commandant Sang, you are the strongest one.

You're pretty tactful.

The final winner is Yan Yun Zhi.

- That's great! - Wonderful!

- Splendid! - Marvelous!

- Great fight! - Beautiful fight!

- Well done! - Good!

[Sang]

It was wonderful.

Careful.

Congratulations, Master Sang!

Did you escape again?

I've been watching from the audience.

There's something I want to ask Deputy Chief.

What is it?

Deputy Chief, have you ever considered what you'd do if you fail?

Are you going to give up on Sang Qi?

I won't fail because I've always believed that only I can take care of Qi.

Do you understand what I mean?

Thank you for enlightening me, Deputy Chief.

I never expect to be able to hear your advice after graduating from Imperial College.

Yan Xiao Lang, what brings you here?

To pick you.

Aren't you scared that Madam Yan will capture you again?

I'm not scared.

I don't want a wife chosen by her status.

I only want you.

So my mother...

Madam Yan has denied me as her son.

Then you...

Then, I'll just be the son of the Sang family!

Father, I'll be marrying into the Sang family.

Master. Master.

- Father? - Let's go.

Father, what's wrong? Father.

Quick.

Father, are you all right?

Good things come together today.

I'm going to eat and drink to my heart's content when I go back.

That way, we can drink until we can no longer drink.

Okay.

By the way, I noticed an important clue on Song Jia Yin just now.

Song Jia Yin? What kind of clue?

The smell from her.

It smelled exactly the same as the smell in the house that day.

She said her father, Grand Tutor Song, bought the aromatic for her.

There's only one in all Bianjing.

[Morning Dew Pavilion]

Have you had enough?

In any case, you're still the nephew of the Noble Consort.

You took part in the duel to decide the marriage and you even lost.

You're a disgrace!

I was too hasty.

I wanted to use this opportunity to snatch Sang Qi back.

I don't object you to ask of her hand in marriage.

It's all right if you fail.

But reputation must be protected.

I understand, but I won't give up on Sang Qi.

Stop it.

We don't have much time to focus on the Sang family.

Moreover, the influence in the court is not dominated by Sang Wei alone.

If we want him to submit to us, we must spend a lot of effort.

Why don't you marry Song Jia Yin?

That way, our relationship with Grand Tutor Song would be even closer, and it'll be safer to take care of things.

Aunt, give me more time to think of other ways.

Remember not to let your emotions cloud your judgment.

Yes.

So this is the top scholar of the imperial examination.

He was granted as the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Personnel.

He sure is handsome, young, and promising.

He looks dashing.

- That's right. - He's handsome.

The top scholar riding a horse looks handsome.

That's right. What a sight.

He's young.

Is everyone out on official duty?

Official, I'm here reporting for duty.

Well,

what did you call me just now?

Just my luck.

What are you doing here? Did you commit a crime?

You never have anything nice to say.

I am here

to fulfill my ambition.

So the Song family is related

to the goods in the warehouse located in the city's outskirts.

Sang Qi especially told me

that Song Jia Yin said the aromatic she uses is the only one in Bianjing.

When I smelled that fragrance, I had the same uncomfortable reaction as that day.

That's not right.

I remember the appointment book stated that I'd be the only one here.

Did you use any tricks?

My father is the Grand Tutor.

It's not hard to arrange for me to work in this small Prefecture Court like this.

If you came around from the beginning,

you didn't have to work so hard for the examination.

You have no real capabilities. But you're good at boasting.

You... You're a matrilocal husband. Why?

Do you think you're great to have the Sang family behind your back?

When Yan San Lang announces the position later, just you wait to be my lackey.

You're the lackey and a lame one.

- You're the one who's lame. - No, you're the one!

- No, you're the one! - You're the one!

- Did you just push me? - So what if I did?

I've never seen your Prefecture Court this lively.

Bring it on!

Qi Lang, I didn't have the time to tell you

that this Song Luo Tian was assigned to work here.

Based on what you told me, is this inviting trouble?

I have an idea.

- You pushed me. - Are you looking for a fight?

Who do you think you're pushing?

You! You scratched me!

- So what if I push you? - Outrageous!

Is the Prefecture Court your playground?

Director Chief, please be the judge of this matter.

Song Luo Tian pulled tricks again.

- I... - Yan San...

Official Yan, tell us who holds the higher position between Song Luo Tian and me.

You're the Patrol of the Left Army.

You're the Patrol of the Right Army.

If both of you fight, won't you be a laughingstock if this gets out?

Did you hear that? The left has always been regarded as higher.

So who's the lackey now?

Don't think everything is fine after your appointment.

You'll need my acknowledgment to get a foothold here.

- Using a test as pretext, - This is yours.

show those plants to Song Luo Tian to see if he can recognize it

This is yours.

Recently, we have seized a batch of illegal plants for medicine.

I'll give you four hours to complete the record of the case.

Our Prefecture Court is small. So do it here.

They look like wild vegetables.

It smells like one too.

What's this smell?

Hey, Young Master Song, are you here to enjoy life?

Qi Lang, will this work?

What if he's putting up an act?

Song Luo Tian may be a profligate son of the rich.

But he has a simple mind.

If he's hiding something, it'll be shown on his face right away.

It looks like he doesn't know about his family's dirty work.

Now, the warehouse is investigated.

I'm sure the Song family has received the news.

Qi Lang, why won't we use Song Luo Tian to inquire about this family?

If we remove him from the position out of a sudden, I fear it'll alert the enemy.

All right.

[Notice. The Archive of Imperial College will be open to the public.]

- Really? How great. - Let's take a look.

[Imperial College]

The Archive will be opened to the public. Anyone can enter.

What is Deputy Chief thinking this time?

Deputy Chief has always been unconventional.

How can we guess at all?

Let me divine.

- It's auspicious! - I can't believe it's auspicious.

I knew everything was within my grasp.

What did you hear?

The notice stated the Archive would be opened to the public.

The Archive?

Even women can enter.

Women can go too?

That means I can meet Deputy Chief Yan.

Go back to the residence.

So many people.

How did you think of this plan?

Guess.

- I wanted to praise you, but you're testing me. - Please line up in order.

- Write your name here. - If I'm not mistaken,

you have a hidden purpose.

Hidden purpose?

Care to explain?

You continuously propose the recruitment of female students, but His Majesty didn't give an answer.

So you thought of this plan.

On the outside, open up the Archive to the public

was originally part of the new year recruitment plan of the Imperial College.

Thus, the illusion.

On the inside,

you used my identity as a woman to allow women from the city

to enter and leave the Imperial College freely

so that everyone at the Imperial College would be accustomed to it

and their mindset will be slowly changed.

Thus, your true intention.

You open up the Archive first, and the recruitment will follow.

Am I right?

Yes.

You indeed know me best.

But it's your good plan.

If we can make it come true, my brother's wish will be fulfilled soon.

Miss Sang, but...

- Nothing. - What's wrong?

Young Master, what Miss Sang said was different from your true intention, right?

That's what I think.

Can't you keep quiet?

Young Master.

Young Master, are you still thinking about what happened at the Archive?

In my opinion, today's matter was a coincidence.

Next time, you can tell Miss Sang not to close the door of the Archive.

That won't solve the problem.

The door has nothing to do with it.

It's him.

It doesn't matter if the door is closed or open.

He will keep pestering Qi.

Then, just close down the Archive.

That'll solve everything.

Stop giving ideas recklessly.

Do you know how much effort Sang Qi took

from the moment she entered the Imperial College until she assumed her current post?

It may only be a nine-ranked official.

But to Qi and I as well as Yu, it brings great significance.

A journey of a thousand miles...

She only took a step.

How can it be delayed because of some love affairs?

So you knew it's about love affairs.

But I can see that Miss Sang is not interested in Mr. Zhuo.

You don't have to worry about this all the time.

I would naturally trust Qi.

But that Zhuo Wen Yuan flies around Qi all day like a fly.

It's annoying to see.

What should we do, then?

Are you going to keep the Archive open and let Mr. Zhuo hang around Miss Sang?

Yes,

I'll keep it open.

Not only I'll open it, but I'm also going to open it up more.

Not only to Imperial College, but to the whole of Bianjing.

- Here you go. - Thank you.

I want that one.

- All right. - Thank you very much.

- Here you go. - I get it now, Young Master.

Your idea to open it to everyone is to prevent Zhuo Wen Yuan from spending too much time alone with Miss Sang.

Am I right, Young Master?

Don't try to be smart.

When Miss Sang is busy, she will naturally ignore Zhuo Wen Yuan.

Zhuo Wen Yuan wouldn't dare to pester Miss Sang with many eyes watching him.

Young Master, this strategy is clever.

It's nothing.

I just want to restructure the Imperial College.

Sang Qi's matter just happens to be part of it.

It kind of happened.

Is it that simple, Young Master?

- Do you have anything to say? - Quickly!

I dare not.

- Hurry up! - Be patient.

There are so many people there. Just wait.

If we wait, the Archive will close, and I won't see Miss Sang.

- I want this one too. - Here you go.

Thank you.

Thank you very much.

- I want this book. - Thank you.

Deputy Chief, have you seen today's situation?

There were so many people.

They are full of expectation and curiosity of the Imperial College.

Deputy Chief, what's wrong?

You seemed distracted.

I'm not.

It's true.

I see.

Is it because many men surrounded me today?

Are you jealous?

Deputy Chief, you can rest assured.

None of the men today is even one-thousandth of you.

Even if there's someone equal to you,

that person will not attract me nor enter my heart,

because I only have you in my heart.

You overthink all this nonsense.

I was wondering if opening the Archive to the public will give you more work.

This is a rare opportunity.
