This week we're taking a dive
into the deep dark depths

of the seven seas for our
sea monster challenge.

(crowd cheers)

80% of the Earth's
oceans are unexplored

and covered in
complete darkness.

So one can only imagine the
monstrosities that lurk below.

For this challenge,

we want you to use
your imaginations
to conceptualize and

create a new look inspired
by the horrors of the deep.

(crowd cheers)

- Are you a killer clam?

A great white shark
and mermaid hybrid?

or something so sinister that
it can't even be described?

Whatever your demented
little minds come up with,

be sure to make it terrifying

or your ship just
might get sunk.

(booming music)

- For your Fright Feat this
week, your task is simple.

You'll have to crawl through
rotten, water-logged pipes

that will either lead
you safely out to sea

or straight to a deep,
dark, watery grate.

(horror music)

Once you find the grate
that leads to the ocean,

you'll have to enter a code
that, if entered correctly,

will drop the gate down and
allow you to pass through.

Otherwise, you'll
be stuck there.

(horror music)

That being said, I do hope
you can hold your breath

because the pipes tend to
flood every few minutes

and once filled with water,
there's really no way out.

(lightning crash sounds)

- Head on out to the pipe's
entrance and good luck.

This challenge was designed
for apex predators only.

And if your look isn't killer,

you'll be gobbled
up and forgotten

like a discarded bucket of chum.

(horror music)

(lightning crash sounds)

(screeching violins)

(low-pitched siren beeping)

- I'm fuckin' nervous as fuck.

idea what's coming.

- So the Fright
Feat this week is

we have to crawl in a sewer pipe

while being submerged in water,

trying to unlock a
lock-this is a lot.

(hissing sound)

- So basically the Fright Feat
this week is I have to drown.

(siren beeping)

(tense music)

- I'm crawling through
the sewers and all
I'm thinking about

is to get this code punched in

so I can get the
fuck out of here.

- Whoa.

- Oh my God, ew gross...

(fog horn sounds)

- That was trauma.

- This was honestly terrifying

and I really thought
I was about to die.

- I am an expert at drowning,
so with that being said,

I could live without
ever doing that again.

What does, what
does that even mean?

- So when I was
young, a group of kids

dared me to jump off a
diving board into a pool.

They didn't know I
couldn't swim, but I did.

I was at the bottom of the
pool, literally looking up,

watching all of my
friends watch me drown.

And it was honestly

one of the most terrifying
moments of my life.

- In that moment,

I really realized what
my priorities were.

I realized in that moment that
I did not need the validation

of any of these people because
these same people are now

watching me die.

It taught me a lot
about like value,

priorities and just
how precious life is.

- I'm really fucking proud
of Koco for facing her fears.

She has a lot of trauma about
water and I know walking in,

she was really terrified,
but she pulled through.

She fuckin' was a trooper.

- I would definitely say
that this competition

has its way of encouraging,

I'll say encouraging 'cause
we don't force around here,

encouraging you to overcome the
things that maybe you didn't

even know were obstacles.

The thing about fears is that
you can't run away from them.

And if you manage to,

it's only a matter of time
before it's staring you square

back in the face, no matter
how long you put it off,

or no matter how you think
you're avoiding the issue,

you will face it.

So why not now versus later
when it's an even bigger problem

than it could have been.

- As ugly as we are, we
are humans after all.

- Yeah, we are humans.

when we were talking,

when y'all weren't back yet,

some of the others were
thinking that you were almost a

little performative with
how you were coming off.

- I didn't think so, I thought
you were being genuine.

- I'm so fucking used to
people thinking that way.

- I know, just because like
you're a theater kid and maybe a

little eccentric, I guess
that's why they said that.

I don't think
Evah's performative,

I think she's just passionate
and she just has a lot of big

words that she uses that a
lot of people aren't used to.

Theater kids talk differently.

It's true!

- What was exactly

- She didn't like that
you called her out about

being a unprofessional to
Production during your speech.

- And I interact with everyone
with nothing but kindness,

including the ones behind

that moment about herself

because it really

I don't think I'm being
performative at all.

I'm only performative when
there's a performance challenge,

Because if I'm gonna

I feel like Evah was being maybe

a little performative
in her speech

and used it as an opportunity
to put me down to make

herself appear better.

And that's what's frustrating
about the situation.

There was just a couple moments

in the previous Cauldrons too

where Evah said
some things to me

that she hadn't said
at any other time.

Like there was a moment
where you said that my Sci Fi

look looked unfinished.

- When it came to
even the Sci Fi one,

it did look unfinished in a way.

- There was a moment
where you wanted

to put me and HoSo in the
bottom just for the drama of it.

- I wanna see the love
birds in the bottom.

- And it felt like these were
things that were unknown to me

until my head was possibly
on the chopping block.

- If I'm gonna call you out
about it, I'll just do it.

- I just can't deal
with this anymore.

It's just, it's
getting too, too much.

- I don't have time to bullshit.

We all don't have time
to bullshit anymore.

- Sure.

- If I came off as the
thespian that I might be

- [HoSo's Inner Monologue]
What the fuck is a 'thespian'?

don't fucking know.

a better conversation later

But at the same time,

like I honestly genuinely
believe in that moment

that it was kind
of misinterpreted.

- It seems like, like
we worked through it,

we were able to
clarify some things.

I don't think she
has ill intentions.

professionals we are,

let's keep our eye on the
prize and go get our shit.

- My inspiration for
my sea monster is

the four horsemen
of the apocalypse.

I'm creating a seahorse
for what I would call

"the Aquapolypse".

Right now I'm using wire
to support the clear vinyl.

That'll basically be
the base/structure.

Once I have the shape of my fin,

I take the foam clay and
just sculpt the shape

of the fin that I desire.

I just happen to be
huge, My Little Pony fan.

And this creature will
be adorned with hooves

as well as fins and all the
fun things of the ocean.

- So for this week's
challenge for the sea monster,

my inspiration is mermaid/fish.

And I'm using this
lovely vinyl that I got.

I'm gonna use it
to cut the fins,

but I'm also adding it to my
lovely head piece that I'm

gonna be using as well.

And also, one thing that I know
that I've been fucking up on

is my prosthetics.

So it was a whole, a
full face prosthetic

that I had is when I just
kept the nose and the mouth.

So I'm, I'm sticking to what
I, what I know how to do best

and show off most of my face

and just keep this
for that fish element.

- So my inspiration
for this challenge

is the hagfish because you
know, when we think of hagfish,

it's the gross, slimy, ugly,

unwanted bottom
feeders of the sea.

Fun fact, Koreans are kind of

the only people on earth
that consume hagfish as food.

So when I used to go to fish
markets with my mom when I was

a child, I would see buckets
of hagfish always there.

And I was always so
fascinated by them.

So when we got sea monster,

I immediately knew
in my mind that, oh,

I wanna do hagfish.

And hagfish has this line
of teeth that pops out when

they're feeding.

So it's kind of what you see
on here on the head piece.

And that's what I'm
creating with the foam clay.

So when I first grab
foam clay out of the bag,

it's very soft and pliable.

So it's not the best
for creating shapes.

So what I do is I create the
general shape and as it dries,

I create the exact texture
and shape that I want

For my sea monster

I was inspired by my
Season Two audition tape

with a very special
performance I did

as a sea monster cutting
off a mermaid's tail.

And I'm going in with a very
organic approach with this.

So these are just porcupine
quills real ones that I've used

for my spine.

I'm actually using this color
changing paint that I have

whipped up.

It's a pigment that color
changes with temperature.

And I'm hoping it will give
the effect of my sea monster

that it's trying to ward off
predators or almost camouflage

in my surroundings.

As you see, I have some like
white striping in this as well.

So I'm just trying to tie it
in up here and I'm just trying

to go along and trying to
accentuate some of the wrinkling

in the sculpt.

But I'm very excited
to see how it works.

submerge myself into the
deep waters and get into it.

- If I have my numbers right,

depending on how
the consequences are
gonna go or if they

happen, if they don't
happen till later, whatever.

This is around the episode
that I went home on my original

season and my personal goal
right now is just to know that

the finale exists for me.

- I think that based
off of track record,

Victoria's gonna be there.

I think that everything
that Koco's drag represents,

I think it, it's
really important

that she's there as well
and she's fucking cunt.

- Aww.

- And then for the third spot,
I guess that's, that's me.

- I would have to say,
of course, Victoria.

you've been putting on to

what you've been bringing
to the fucking stage.

- I would've thought with
that extra hundred thousand

a decent wig by now.

to the judges' panel.

The tide is rising and it's
almost time to set sail.

- Without further ado,

What did you think
of the floorshow?

- I thought the
floorshow was surprising

and I really learned to
expect the unexpected

when it comes to Dragula.

Let's start with Astrud.

I thought it was so successful,

so surprising, very "League
of Extraordinary Gentlemen".

- It almost seemed like
something from a fantasy story.

I thought it was very
creative and I thought the

craftsmanship was really good.

I do think the beak with the
red face kind of threw it off a

little, but I'm not
gonna knock her for it.

- It did have some detractors.

I thought the movement
was very Astrud.

It could have been any
one of their characters.

I thought that this squid
gentleman deserved a different

performance.

- So what kind of
performance would you say

Astrud delivered?

- Astrud gave us
that chaotic writhing

that I think we get every time.

- Well, for a squid
that's outta water,

that's trying to be a gentleman.

Maybe that's a good
action to have.

Right?

- Maybe.

- All right, let's
move on to Melissa.

- Yes.

- So I liked what Melissa did.

I think that the fins,

and the fact that they were
transparent really worked to her

advantage while performing
in front of the video screen.

- Very successful.

- Her fins lit up,
it looked fabulous.

The problem was right in the
middle we have a ballgown.

- The entire dress.
- We have a mermaid ballgown

that is sort of like the
fabric that you might

see at a prom.

- I mean this was,

"I'm gonna walk down
to the fabric district

and oh, that looks like scales!

I'm getting that".

I felt like the
inspiration was not there.

- Okay. What did you
think of Victoria?

- I mean Victoria's

fin on the head, the teeth,

the eyes, the treatment
of the fingers,

webbed feet, it was complete.

My thing is, is it finished?

The face was deadly, the teeth
were gnarly and carnivorous.

but this character to
me was not finished.

We needed something to
bring us back to the sea.

It wasn't oceanic enough to me.

like road warrior

than I was getting sea monster.

Hoso's sea monster.

- Well I really liked HoSo's
look from the waist up,

but then the waist down,

If you bothered to transform
every inch of you to look like

some crustation on the
bottom of the ocean floor,

why would you stop at the waist?

monster from the deep,

really read monster

I was getting pink skin alien.

- When I was watching your
floorshow, I was gagged like

tens, tens, tens
across the board.

At first when you came out and
it was the bulb, I was like,

Ooh, how are you
gonna sell this?

But then you started to
bounce and the hand came out.

Perfect tens for me.

- Thank you so much.

- Evah! Oh my God, this
was absolutely stunning.

As soon as you care about
on stage, I was just like,

what even is that what?
What Evah is that?

It was. It was so beautiful.

It was such a nice little
treat that you were so hideous

underneath that
shell. It was perfect.

Some people will create looks
like this and then they cannot

sell it on stage. The look wears
them and then they're like,

this giant look.

But they can't pull

But I think you actually
pulled this off.

And it literally and
figuratively sort
of like peeled away.

It was pretty on the outside

and then really
ugly on the inside.

Honestly, I didn't
know what Evah was.

I thought it she was a cloister
clam crab octopus thing.

It was nautical.

- I didn't even recognize you

when you came out
on stage tonight.

I've never seen this side
of you and it's a good side.

It's a little more simplistic.
I think had the execution,

had it been a little more solid,

I would be on board with you.

I do think the performance
could have been a little more

vicious. It was a little,

it was a little slower than
I expected from a very dom

Poseidon Sea Daddy.

- What I love about this look

is the gender play and that you

succeeded in surprising me.

One of the things that I
find kind of confusing is,

is this character from the sea.

I needed more to bring me
there in the narrative.

Whether they be
weapons or a net,

some kind of spear or
trident, it was a cool idea,

it just needed to
be pushed further.

- I felt like the performance
was a little bit slower and

sexier for this kind of like
hard warrior-esque character.

But overall I thought
it was a great look.

- It's rich Saint
giving me critiques

about a slow performance.

- My issue with the look is
I'm not seeing as much aquatic

stuff. I think this look is
really creative and I like it,

but I do not like
it for sea monster.

- My critiques are
going fucking terrible.

It is quite possible
that I could have made

my look more sea monster.

- Let's talk about Melissa.

- Melissa,

I feel like I lost you because
of the mouth prosthetic.

It was just a little hard to
like get the emotion that I was

getting from other people and
I just feel like the dress

needs to be a little
bit more altered.

It's like we've all seen that
fabric and I just wish it was

like, I wish you were naked.

Honestly, I wish you
were naked under it.

- Cause like-

- I think a lot of people
wish Melissa was naked.

iridescent-like fabric.

The silhouette of like
the light shining through.

different color.

It looked stunning as soon

the strength of it is.

The middle part to
me is a disconnect.

I think the dress
maybe takes away

from the sea monster of it.

- Thought that Melissa's
look was really pretty.

But just why did you use that
fabric girl? That's like a,

You don't use that fabric.

It is really far out of the
box from what I've seen up here

It's very apparent that like
what your story is is like you

are a monster coming out of
a human's clothes and it's,

it's stunning. I loved it.

I love the idea of this monster
trying to parade and walk

among men.

I do wish that the performance
helped bolster that idea

'cause I felt like you moved
the way you always move.

too much because overall I

think this is
really imaginative,

cool, and I think it
was like a real success.

choice, your colors, the

like the full extension of your

like the colorization and like

that you've done on the fabric

is immaculate but

out what you were
for the life of me.

I was getting more insect
until I saw the tail and I was

like, what insect has a tail?

- HoSo I'm a fan of almost
everything you do because you

invite me into a fantasy world

and if I just think
for a minute I

can always kind of latch
onto what you're doing.

Except for tonight.

Tonight I was confused the
entire time and I ended up never

really knowing what
your sea monster was.

- But for me I'm getting like
some kind of crab monster

of the deep, I'm seeing
the aquatic in this look

where it lost me a
little was sort of

from the thigh down
because I feel like

you just have more like heels
and pants and it took me a

little bit out of the fantasy
because from here up it's so

1000% committed to the look.
It's a little confusing.

- HoSo's look, kind of looks
like a shrimp, honestly.
