similar than I'd realized.

The lake
was getting pretty quiet,

as all the cottagers were heading home.

In that moment

I remember feeling four things.

We moved back into the
cottage for the winter.

It felt good to be there with
my two most important people.

And while different things mattered to me,

more important things,

I realized that when we put
our pieces back together,

sometimes they fit differently.

And life is such a funny thing, isn't it?

We think we can control it,

but it always seems to lead to us

to where we're meant to be.

If my Dad hadn't sold that paddle boat,

I never would have figured out

what was really important to me.
