The Russian invaders will have a very difficult
time in winter in Ukraine, much like the Soviet

army did during the invasion of Finland in 1939.
Back then, the bodies of Red Army soldiers were

lying in the snow, soldiers were freezing in
the trenches, and tank engines were stalling.

There could be outbreaks of disease in the ranks
of the Russian Armed Forces because Russian

positions are completely disorganized, dirty, and
living among the garbage they themselves generate.

Winter temperatures in Ukraine can drop
to -24 °F, the average temperature is

-18 °F, and up to half a meter of
precipitation can fall during the day.

Winter in Ukraine is much milder compared
to some regions of Russia, but still,

for ill-equipped, inadequately trained
soldiers, winter warfare can be quite harsh.

In cold conditions, not only do you move slower,

you think slower, and the likelihood of
units scattering and fleeing increases.

Although the Ukrainians face
the same weather conditions,

the Ukrainian Armed Forces appear
better equipped and more motivated

than the Russian Army, where many
have only recently been mobilized.

The coming winter could be the darkest
period of the war for Putin and his army.

In addition to the Ukrainian army, Russian troops,
who lack winter clothing, will also have to fight

the environment. It is not only about the
cold, but also about potentially possible

illnesses among the Russian military. A parallel
can be drawn with the Crimean War, during which,

according to historians, there were four times
as many deaths from illness than from wounds.

The Russian command simply wants to
trade "bodies for time" and test the

West's resolve in their support of
the Ukrainians, and prolong the war.

Added to all the difficulties
will be the freezing weather,

which will make Russia's unleashed
war an exercise in survival.

Russian recruits will arrive at the front
ill-equipped and without quality winter

clothing. They will find themselves
in trenches flooded with icy water.

It is one thing when you win, but if you lose,
the psychological effect will be terrible.
