I told the girls
they were having a brother, or a sister.

Ivanna was very happy.

But Emma said,
"Are you sure something's in there?"

- [girl] No, Mommy, no.
- Calm down, Mom.

FLORENCIA'S EX-PARTNER

The girls' reaction was...

Well, they didn't take it well.

the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit,

the Holy Trinity.

Chela was completely terrified.

I had so many questions

about what exactly was bothering
Emma and Ivanna.

[Florencia] Pablo was also
a target in a way.

He was in a rough patch.

And when life wasn't going his way,

we started having problems,
certain drawbacks.

If I talked about what bothered me,
she'd get mad.

So I wouldn't talk about it at all.

The only person I knew
who had experience with this kind of thing

was Antonio Zamudio,

a man very passionate
about this line of work.

He'd spent many years researching
the kind of thing happening to the girls.

So I called him,
"Please help us, something is going on."

I am the Director of the Mexican Agency
for Paranormal Investigation.

Our work, for the most part,

is to properly decipher
and investigate strange occurrences

that may not have rational explanations.

What we call this
is a paranormal phenomenon.

a friend of mine from a long time ago.

"Something is happening
to my daughter and my grandchildren."

We told him when it started.

Then, we made a timeline
of everything that happened.

without the girls.

My mom told us to stay at her place.

Attacks from the spiritual world
are often classified

from the weakest to the strongest,
with the strongest one being possession.

There are three phases,

demonic infestation,
vexation and obsession.

Infestation involves a place,
often a home,

where an entity, a spirit,
takes control of its surroundings.

who live in that place.

what's known as a "resident" demon.

It brings ruin, misery, disease.

It begins to torment them.

The next step is vexation.

The demon not only stays
in the contaminated place,

but it begins to follow a specific person.

It had a tall, full body.

When I began writing down
the strange things happening to me,

they seemed to get worse.

Once, I did see an entity on my computer
while I was writing.

had any idea what was happening.

[banging continues]

[unsettling music playing]

My brother told his roommates
to take me to the doctor.

He said he didn't want
to see his sister like this.

[Concepción screaming]

My mom had been injured.

My sister is possessed.

The doctors calmed me down by injection
because I couldn't do it myself.

They conducted laboratory tests

to see if I was
under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Then, the doctor told my brother,

"Your sister is in
a deep state of possession."

[Andrea] There are three major reasons
I believe the demon stalked my mother.

The first is that
she has a sister involved in witchcraft.

Her practice involves calling upon demons,

summoning demons,
naming demons, casting spells.

very emotionally vulnerable at that time.

And finally, the last factor,
I believe, was Gregorio Cárdenas

and the gruesome murders
he carried out against women.

was very close to the house where my mom
experienced these paranormal activities.

an alternate personality is created,

Type A are disembodied spirits,
people who lived like us.

When they left our world,
they didn't find the kingdom of heaven,

so they're stuck in a world in between.

Most possession cases
fall under this category.

Type B are fallen angels...

angels that God created for his service,

but at one point,
they rebelled against Him.

They attempted to overthrow Him,
so God banished and cursed them.

They live in a parallel world,

a dimension where the spiritual world
and the material world interact.

This is where the strongest
and most dangerous possession cases occur.

People who dedicate themselves
to the ministry of exorcism

are no ordinary people.

They must be strong-willed and brave,

and Father Basilio is like that.

after the demon should've left the house,

it was still there,
all the way until Halloween.

[sinister music playing]

- [gasps softly]

Like my friend's.

Which friend?

Her name's Baku.

[sinister sting]

That name stuck in my head, Baku.

Emma started telling me
that she played a lot with Baku.

about this friend of yours?

She doesn't want me to.

[eerie music playing]

Demons usually form a legion
where one dominates over the others.

Father Basilio was immensely meticulous
in documenting the process.

He was confident he knew what had happened
to my mom and could explain it to me.

that what I was telling him,
