- Will our La Perla be saved?
Santa Maria!
- What is it, Don Primo?
- I see a Winnebago.
- Okay, your final projects are due, fully edited,
upon your return.
Have a great vacation.
- Ah-ah, Professor Yarkov?
- Yeah?
- Is there any way that we can get an extension,
seeing as how we all have other finals, not to mention,
we have family obligations?
- Is it possible?
I suppose so, but let me ask you this.
If you're one of the lucky lotto winners,
the one that actually lands a gig
directing in the film biz,
you think they're gonna cut you any slack
when you have a $100 million film to make,
and every hour's delay costs $50,000?
- Right, but this isn't a $100 million film.
- Maybe you should treat it as if it were.
Okay?
No extensions.
Merry Christmas.
Miss Francis?
Your lnstagram sensibilities have put you on very thin ice.
Your final project had better be extraordinary,
or don't even bother coming back.
Okay?
Bye.
' Lisa!
Bring me a Diet Coke.
- Just a minute, Mama.
- I'm dying of thirst here.
- Hi, Mama. - About time. - There you go.
It's really dark in here.
- Ah, don't do that.
- You shouldn't be in the darkness all day.
- Do you think I want to?
I have to rest.
. Okay-
I'm going out with some friends tonight.
I left you dinner in the microwave, okay?
Okay.
- Thank you very much.
Have a good day.
Ha ha, goal! Hey Bry.
Hey, you got any plans for tomorrow?
A friend of mine got me tickets to the big game,
and I need you to cover for me.
- Okay, well, actually, I-- - Thanks pal.
I knew I could count on you.
Hey, tell you what.
Next tickets I get, coming your way.
Good sale, look,
I'm gonna be back in storage.
- Jesus, Todd!
- Yo, Bro!
How's it hanging?
- What about security?
- What, that senile rent-a-cop with the tin badge?
- Oh god, dude, you're gonna get in so much trouble.
- Bro, how many time I gotta tell you.
You gotta hang loose, right?
These look pretty cool.
I think I'm gonna take 'em.
- What, the new Wave Walkers?
They're like $450 a pair.
- Really?
In that case, I'm gonna take two of them, size 10 1/2.
Alright, you ready for a little beach action manana?
- I can't, I got a work thing.
- Bro, you let them screw you out of another day off?
- Todd, I'm a management trainee now.
I gotta be responsible.
- Yeah, which means you gotta bend down
and take it anytime they say.
- Well, unlike some people, I don't have a trust fund
to carry me through life. - Okay, hey,
let's not stop being friends, okay.
What are you doing after work?
- My parents are giving me a run through on the RV.
- Wow, so you're really gonna drive the rig,
all the way to Cabo,
so they could fly down and drive it back one way?
- I guess so.
- Bryan,
my boy.
This is the perfect opportunity for you.
- For what? - To make a stand.
You've told me like a million times
that you wanna bail on that, right?
Why don't you just work up the cojones, and do it.
. Okay- . Okay-
- Yeah. - Yeah.
- Yeah.
I have been pushed around long enough.
Yeah.
- I think we should maybe bring him a cloth.
- Well, what if he washed it twice?
It's the second time around.
- This is the second time. - It looks better.
- I know-- - Oh, it is the second time?
- Yeah.
He's on the second coat.
He's been out here for three hours.
Oh, Bryan honey, you missed a spot.
- There you go.
- Morn,
Dad, there's
something I wanna talk to you about.
- Really, because
there's something we wanna tell you.
- Oh?
Really?
What is it?
- Well, honey, we want you to stay with the RV
a couple of days longer in Mexico,
'cause that way your Dad and I
can do the New Year's Eve triathlon with our friends.
Right, it's gonna mean so much to us.
- Yeah, but you know, the thing is I--
- Here is your map and itinerary.
Now, just stay on the main roads.
Only drive during the day.
Everything should be just dandy.
- And give him-- - Oh, yeah.
Here is the insurance card.
Now, be careful.
This baby cost a mint. - Yeah.
And here, put this somewhere safe.
Okay? ' Okay,
- So, what is it you wanted to say, sweetheart?
- Nothing.
- Okay. - Keep cleaning.
- You know what your problem is, bro?
You're too nice.
- What do you mean?
- What I mean is, you live for other people:
your parents, your store manager, your gecko?
Right?
Am I right?
Yes.
When are you gonna start living for Bryan?
- For who?
- Clever.
- Oh,
come on,
ma",
well, I got plenty of time for that, you kidding me?
- Don't be so sure, man.
Time,
is like a beautiful babe without a dude.
She don't stick around long. - Come sit here.
- Think about it. Right here?
- Thank you.
- Enjoy. - Jessica Francis?
- Oh my god, Todd.
- Join us?
- Yeah, that's fine. - Sure.
Yeah, sure.
Oh, the good old days, where we would do
anything to not be basic.
- Really?
- What, am I basic?
- I mean, you're pretty basic to me.
- No, I'm not basic, I'm in the middle.
I'm not weird, but I'm definitely not basic.
I'm just inspiring.
- I have a question for you.
Are you actually driving down to Cabo by yourself?
- Yeah, yeah, I guess so.
- Wait.
Guys, I had the most epic idea.
Just now.
Why don't we all go down to Cabo with Bryan?
It will be like the biggest party
even - No,no,no,no.
I don't think my parents would be too excited--
- No, they don't need to know about that.
You should see the rig that they have.
- I mean, come on, Todd, I'm sure that
Bryan does not want you acting like a maniac
all the way through Mexico.
Bry?
Is that right, do you not want me, Pal?
- Well, I mean, it's not,
it's not that I don't want you to come.
I mean, I just-- - See?
Yeah.
Besides, I have my final film project due,
and it has to be
extraordinary. - Yeah,
I can't leave my mom, I have to take care of her.
- Do you hear that?
That means they were actually considering it.
- Ah, and as usual, Todd
is delusional. - Am I?
- Yes.
When are you gonna grow up?
- Yeah, when are you gonna grow up?
- Lisa, bring me a diet coke.
- Coming.
Mama?
Mama!
Why didn't you tell me about these letters?
- Your father's no good, and I was trying to protect you.
- I understand, but it's my decision
to throw away something like this.
This is not up to you.
It says here that he's in La Paz.
- Drinking and whoring no doubt.- No, listen.
It says here
that he's been working
and that he wants to tell me something really important.
- Lies. - What?
No, don't-- - All lies.
No more talk.
Don't even think about it.
Hija, look at what you're doing to me.
Give me my medicine.
- Lorena,
I need to see him.
- What?
- I don't understand.
Just tell your parents you have to be back at work
to do inventory
for our blowout sale. - Yeah, no, I get it sir,
but they're really, really counting on me,
and you know, the thing is if I drive to Cabo, and then
work here an extra week,
I'm gonna use up all my Christmas break.
- Bryan, Bryan, Bryan, you're a management trainee.
Now, I'm not making any promises here,
but someday, not too far off in the future, you could be
an assistant manager.
With the extra pay and perks,
there also comes some responsibility, buddy boy.
- Yes sir. - Yeah.
Now,
you may not have the kind of break you want,
but buddy boy,
that's a sacrifice you're just gonna have to make.
Huh, come on, let's get with it.
- So, I just bend over and take it.
- Excuse me?
- I'm sorry,
what I mean is, I-- - That you'll arrange things,
so that you can be back at work
on our busiest day of the year?
Right?
- Right. - Right, okay.
- No. - No.
- No, no, no, not, not exactly.
- Not exactly?
What exactly do you mean by not exactly?
- Well,
I mean,
I mean-
I mean, you can take this job,
and you can shove it.
- Extraordinary.
- So, then I was like,
you can shove it up yours,
and I blew the whistle, and I got out of there.
It was so awesome. - What!
' Yeah, yeah.
- No! - Thank you.
- Yes, thank you.
- Man, quitting that job was the best
decision I've ever made.
You were totally right. - Thank you.
- You should have seen him, he was so pissed.
You would have been so proud.
- Bro, I am so proud of you.
- Next thing I'm gonna do,
I'm gonna tell my parents to forget about Cabo.
I'm not doing that.
I'm not gonna be their freaking errand boy.
You're totally right.
- Just hold on a second there, okay, bro.
- What?
- I just have a better idea.
- I thought-- - No, no, no, no.
You take the rig to Cabo,
I'll come with.
- Well, no,
I thought, I thought-- - Listen, listen,
here's the deal.
You're gonna stay on good terms with the old folks,
you're gonna have a great time along the way,
and you're gonna help your friends.
- What do you mean, I help my friends?
- Well, Mexico's a great place just to do a little business,
and I got something lined up that can't miss.
' No, โO, no, no.
I can't get involved
in one of your things. - Here's the closer,
Jessica and Lisa come with us.
- They'd never-- - Well, they are.
Jessica texted me, she wants to do some film on whales,
Lisa wants to visit her Dad while we're down there,
like everything is cool, right.
So, what do you say?
- I'd say I'd have to think about it.
- Bryan.
We have chicks.
We have primo wheels.
We've got beaches, sun, adventure, margaritas.
This is the opportunity of a lifetime.
- Yeah! - Yeah, but no, no, no, only,
onW" . okay-
- If you promise me that nothing happens to the RV.
It'll be pristine.
My parents paid a fortune for that thing,
they would kill me.
- Bryan.
I will treat your parents' rig like my first born child.
Trust me.
- Then let's go to Mexico.
- We're going to Mexico? - Yeah.
- I have to pee, too.
Sure this is a good idea?
- No, no, I'm not sure at all. - Where are they?
What is he doing?
- What? - Oh my god.
Welcome aboard.
- Todd, you know what time it is?
- Yeah, it's right on time. - What happened?
God, what do you have in here? - All right, so look.
We're gonna start here,
and then work our way down Baja
there.
We're gonna stop at lots of fun places in between.
We'll go to, like, Rosarito, Ensenada,
Loreto, La Paz, and then finally down to Cabo.
- Awesome, can we go now?
. Okay-
Just need you guys to sign some safety forms, and
we can get out of here.
- What?
. HEY-
Okay, okay.
Come on, guys, this is the place.
- Where we going? - Come on!
- Todd, why have we stopped here?
- Oh, I've got a little connection
that's gonna hook us up. - No, no, no,
hook us up to what? - Hey.
Pardon.
Donde esta Edwin Blake?
Arriba. Esta Arriba.
Pardon.
Pardon.
- Ew, ew, gross.
Oh.
- Uh, sir?
Excuse me?
Sir.
Hey, I'm looking for Edwin Blake.
Who's looking?
- Sweet Jimmy from San Diego sent me.
- Oh, why didn't you say so, man?
When you said, Edwin, I thought you was the cops.
My friends call me Burnout.
Didn't Jimmy tell you?
- Well, actually-- - Burnout?
- Why are we meeting with a guy named Burnout?
- He's funny. - Yeah.
- Alright, come on. - Okay.
I'll introduce you to Jorge.
. Okay-
- I'm good, I got it, I got it.
Well you guys coming, or what?
- Come on.
- Todd!
- I don't know.
- Todd.
- We're definitely not in Kansas anymore.
- The gringo's here.
- Welcome.
Friends of Sweet Jimmy.
Todd?
Me llamo Jorge.
This is my club, one of many.
Let's have a word, in private.
- Yeah, sure. - Come on.
- No, it's cool.
I'll be a minute, guys.
Okay?
- Sit over there. - Okay.
- You like?
- I like. - Yes?
- Glass of champagne para my amigo.
- Yeah.
Alright, guys-
So, everything's set.
Bryan and I are gonna go out with some of Jorge's boys,
and Jorge is gonna host you ladies here in his club.
- That guy seems like serious trouble.
- What's the problem with having a drink or two, huh?
They got a DJ, there's gotta be dancing.
- You heard the DJ, he was really good.
That's what I'm saying, we're in Mexico.
Live a little bit, right?
We're gonna be back before you know it.
Bryan.
- Huh? - Come on, let's do it.
We're going.
- You want to go dancing-- - It's not that big of a deal.
- You look like Lorena.
- Who is that?
- Lorena De Los Rios.
The singer who died in the plane crash
in the Sea of Cortez.
- I know, I've actually...
I've gotten that before. - Oh, sure?
- You're not the first person to say that, but, I mean,
I don't really see it. - No?
The resemblance is remarkable,
except you're even more beautiful.
- Oh, well, that's for sure not true.
I'm definitely not more beautiful.
- Don't you agree?
- Oh, boy.
You don't have to touch the-- - Let's be friends, huh?
Chica. - No, thank you.
I don't drink, I don't drink.
- Do you like to have fun?
How about you?
Do you like to have fun?
- Yeah, I-- - Dance?
- Yes, actually, I would love to dance.
- Lisa, you know what, I don't mind if I do, actually.
Lisa, your bag.
- Todd, what is this place?
Ah, no, no. - No, no, no, trust me.
Bienvenidos guapos. - Welcome.
We have many lovely senoritas waiting for you.
Come in.
Take your time.
Relax.
The first drink is free.
. Okay.
- Hey, come on.
This is, this is just...
It's too weird for me. - No it's not.
What's your fancy, broheim?
- I don't know, Todd,
this is really weird. - Yeah.
Yeah, the good ones go early.
Let's
drink up.
- I'm driving the rig tomorrow.
- No, Jessica's our designated driver, remember?
. Okay-
- Finish it.
Yeah, there you go.
It's good, right?
SQ?
- I don't know, I mean, the
one on the end,
she's kinda cute. - Yeah, she is kinda cute.
Oh.
To each his own.
Just her?
- What?
I don't know.
- Esta muchacha por mi amigo
- The whole enchilada.
- You mean Carmen?
Very good choice.
You know, she's what you say
not like other girls.
Yes, come on, I'll take you to her.
- What about you? - Come on.
- I'm waiting up for this hot little number.
She's indisposed at the moment.
- Come on, come on, I'll take you to Carmen.
- Enjoy. See you in a bit, see you in a bit.
Look at this place.
We have everything you have.
The gringos think Mexico is backward.
It's not.
God, I can't get over how much you look like Lorena.
- Your personality's backwards, Jorge.
- It's really too loud to have a conversation in here.
Why don't we go for a cruise on my yacht?
- On your yacht? - No, no, no, we can't.
We have to go.
- Well, if your friend prefers to stay,
I can arrange a ride for you.
It's no problem. - well, she doesn't.
- How about another time we can get together.
- As you wish.
. Okay-
- I have a feeling we will meet again.
- Not if I can help it.
- Pleasure to meet you.
- Excuse me.
Coming through.
- Come on, come on.
- What was your name again?
Como se llama?
- Carmen.
- Carmen.
It's a pretty name.
Look,
Carmen.
You know, we don't really have to do anything.
I didn't want my friend to think I was lame,
or something, so...
Yeah.
- Do you think I'm pretty?
- Yeah.
Absolutely.
- We have a drink or two.
Okay?
. Okay-
- Si.
- Dos copas de champagne. Gracias.
And then, mi pobre papacito, he has no choice,
so he sell his Carmen to this place.
Oh, what, you can't leave?
' M")! Peligroso.
- Very dangerous. Costoso.
Must pay a lot of money.
- Why Papacita?
That's awful.
I'm serious.
- You're a very sweet boy.
Buy me another drink?
- Yeah, yeah.
Just, yeah, okay.
- You waiting for me, handsome?
- Well, it's actually getting kind of late, so.
- You don't wanna be with me
'cause I was just with someone else, huh?
Note preoccupes. Nothing happened.
No es problema, okay?
Let's go. - Okay.
Let's go.
Whoa,
dude,
help.
Dude. - What?
- What happened?
- I don't know.
I don't know.
' Did you?
- I don't...
I don't know.
I don't know.
- Dude, the floor is moving. - What?
- The floor's moving. - No, no,
no, no, no, we're moving.
- What? Oh.
I hate blacking out.
- Yeah, yeah, me too.
- Damn.
I guess we're never gonna find out if you
scored.
- Yes, we are.
- How, did you take photos?
- Why?
Close. - Close?
- I can't believe you didn't notice her.
- You were passed out when you got in last night.
I didn't know we were supposed to
check the beds this morning.
- Okay, can we just, can we drive her back, or something?
Is that okay? - No, no, no.
Ensenada's like four hours away.
Okay, besides, we can't be late for my appointment.
- What? - Appointment?
- What do you mean appointment?
- There's more in the back.
- What are these? - Shh!
Calm down.
They're cell phones that we're gonna deliver for Jorge.
His boys loaded them up yesterday when we were out.
- What? - What?
- Calm down, it's cool.
- No, no, no, no, I don't understand.
Why can't he deliver those himself?
- He could deliver them himself.
But the federales and his competition
are just hassling him a little bit.
But they're never gonna suspect
our rig. - No, I don't believe you.
- What?
We do a favor.
We unload in Cabo,
and then we can make a nice piece of change.
- What about Carmen?
- What about Carmen?
Give her bus fare back and send her back.
- That's a little cold,
don't you think? - Is it?
Okay, she's your girl, what do you wanna do?
- I don't know.
Why don't we just
take her with us?
You know?
She didn't wanna be there anyway.
- Whoa!
Okay.
Jorge is tight with her employer.
We can't get in the middle of that,
or it's gonna blow my deal.
- Ha.
You don't mind having our futures blown, but your deal,
you can't blow your deal.
Todd's deal. - I think
you can use someone like me.
- Oh my god.
- Who knows their way around.
- No, gracias, we're gonna find our own way.
- You can follow a map,
but there are things you don't know about
that can get you into trouble, like those phones.
- I'm sorry, what does that mean?
- I've seen Jorge use gringos before.
You better be careful.
- This is bullshit,
it's bullshit. - Well, you would know.
- Okay, how about
we take Carmen with us to the next bus stop,
and then we can drop her off there
and call Jorge from there?
- And tell him what, exactly?
That we borrowed his friend's hooker, and
we're really sorry? - No, no, no, no.
Definitely not that.
I'll figure something out.
I'll call him.
I'll call him.
We'll go and we'll be fine. - Okay, great.
- God, it's beautiful here.
- So, we will get Carmen back to you tomorrow,
if that's okay.
- The waves are pretty nice, too.
- Yeah, they'd be perfect for your first surf lesson.
- What about Carmen? - Yeah, what about her?
The bus'll be here in like a day
or two. - Todd!
- I'm joking Jess.
The coconut dude said there'd be one like in an hour, okay?
- Alright, well, I'm gonna go ask if she wants to
hang out, till the bus comes.
Okay.
- Sassy little baby.
- You like him.
- What? - Yeah.
- No, no, no, I don't.
Inn:
HO.
No, I could never get serious about him.
- Why?
- Oh, he's
22 going on 15.
. Okay-
So, I couldn't get a hold of Jorge, but
I spoke to his guys, and
they said you can stay with us,
for an extra day, though,
as long as we get you back tomorrow,
and that you're paid, obviously, your extra fee
for having been here an extra day with us, so.
You can stay.
- Oh, lookit.
Look at Bryan.
That's awesome.
Oh!
- Oh god, oh my god.
Oh my god.
Are you okay? - Yeah.
- I think it's broken.
- Oh my god. - I think it's broken.
Yeah, it's broken.
- Oh, I love that, that is so cute.
- You like? - Yes.
- In La Paz, I can take you to some fantastic tiendas.
- Hey man, it's your funeral. - This
would look great on you.
- What are you talking about?
- The meter's running on that chick.
Besides, I hate being outnumbered.
- Guerrero Negro.
- Yes.
This is gonna be where the whales come to play.
I'm hoping to get a couple shots of the big guys today.
- If you're looking for the whales, they're not here yet.
- What?
- They should be here in about two weeks.
- Two weeks?
- Hey, just think of it this way.
Now you got an excuse to stay down here longer.
- No you don't get it, Todd.
I have to have an extraordinary movie
when I get back to class or I'm screwed.
- Why can't you just film something else that's
extraordinary, huh? - Hey.
I'll show you something that's extraordinary.
- Oh my gosh, shut up, Todd.
Could you?
Oh my god.
- Don't' worry, amiga.
Carmen will help you.
Ninos, cuidale.
Gracias.
- So, what's the deal here?
- Carmen's just gonna show us around
while Lisa deals with her personal business.
- What personal business?
- Padre. - Oh, right, right, right.
- Come on.
I know the best places to eat.
No tourist trap, the real Mexico.
- Actually, don't you think you should be getting back?
One more night, mi amor?
You're gonna owe it anyway.
. Okay-
- Bro, I hope you're at least getting laid.
- I'm working on it.
- Come on, Jess.
- Buenos dias.
- Hola.
- Hola.
- Desculpe, estoy buscando a Senor Bolanos?
- Luis?
Luis.
- Te buscan.
- Si.
Con permiso.
Nos vemos.
- Oh my god.
Wow, check this out.
- Whoa.
- What is this?
- This is Lorena De Los Rios.
La cantante who died in a plane crash in the Sea of Cortez.
- She kind of looks like Lisa.
- Why the shrine?
- Since her death, many have seen her espiritu.
And with the blessing of the Virgin,
Lorena is a worker of milagros.
- Really?
That's cool.
- Why didn't you write sooner?
- I did.
- Mom.
- Look,
I know there's just no excuse for what I've done,
and you might not ever forgive me,
But I just hope that someday you'll understand.
- It's okay. - Oh.
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. - No, it's okay.
- This is great.
- I told you.
Vamos a bailar.
- What?
- We go dance.
- Oh, no, no.
I don't, I don't dance. - I show you.
- Okay, I guess I'm going dancing.
- Bryan.
- It's good to see you smile there, Jess.
I was beginning to wonder if you still knew how.
Yes.
Missing the whales was definitely a bummer.
- Listen, no worries, babe.
In all of Baja,
there has to be something else
that's gonna make a cool movie.
- Like what?
- Like, I don't know.
Really, whatever you want.
- Hmm, well, whatever I want is not
extraordinary.
- Says who?
- Oh, I don't know, my film prof.
- You know what I think? - What?
- Screw him.
- What are you doing?
- Let's try some of this Salsa shit.
- No, no, no, no, no, Todd, I suffer from that
white woman's disease. - White woman?
. My bag.
Todd, Todd, I can't, I can't dance.
Todd, I don't dance, I really don't dance, I really don't
dance!
- Very, very good.
- Look Lisa, you got your whole life, you know?
When I was young,
with your mom,
it just didn't work, you know.
I understand. - No, it's...
See, what happens in life is
sometimes you just wanna
just make a change, a better life for yourself,
and you make a decision, and you just
go after it. - I get it.
I understand you.
I understand.
Are you happy?
- Yeah, I'm happy-
- That's good.
- The only thing missing is you though, you know, because
every day I think about you.
Every single day.
Anyway, I just hope that
someday you understand, but I,
I was writing to you
because I wanted give you something, okay.
It's
like an inheritance.
Just hope it's not too late.
- What is it?
It's La Perla.
- La pair-la? - Yeah, yeah, La Perla.
I guess it's an old resort
that my father had inherited from one of his
relatives, and then passed it on to me.
But we have to get there now,
or else it's gonna be foreclosed on.
- Well, wait a minute, because I got cargo to deliver.
- I wanna finish my movie.
- Yeah, and I've gotta get the rig to Cabo.
- And I must go back to Ensenada, unless
you want me to stay longer? - Okay, well, then,
you guys can just drop me off on the way.
It's on an island, called lsla Reunion.
It's just south of here, and I can take the ferry.
- Cool.
- Wait, so, why didn't your Dad come?
- Because he has a family,
and another life and a job, but
can't just leave.
- You bummed?
- A little, yeah.
- Oh.
- But,
I'm really happy I just got to see him, you know.
- Yeah.
- And see that he still cares about me, and,
it's nice.
- Isla Reunion used to be very popular, like
100 years ago.
- What happened?
- People like Jorge built new hoteles, condominiums,
time shares on the mainland.
Nobody goes to Reunion anymore.
- So, are you saying La Perla is worthless?
- Ooh, god.
Are you
sure about this? - Yep.
- Ooh, I wanna check on the babies.
Holy shit, where's our stuff?
Where are the phones? - What do you mean?
- Where are the phones? - They should be there.
- I told you.
Jorge's competitors probably took them in La Paz.
- Ohh. - Now you are chingado.
That means-- - Yeah, I know what it means.
Thank you.
What's it mean?
- That means Jorge will come looking for you.
You have to pay him back, or else.
- No, that's like 30, 40 grand worth of stuff.
I don't have that kind of dough.
- Oh my god.
- It looks like you have something of value.
- Oh. no, n0, no, no, no.
No, this is mine.
So, get that out of your head right now, okay.
- Qkay, okay.
Tranquilo, hombre, I was just joking you.
We'll figure something.
- What do you mean, just something?
This is crazy, Todd.
Jorge kills people for stuff like this.
He will kill me, and then my parents will kill me.
- I'm sorry, dude, I'm sorry dude,
this is my bad, I know, I know.
- Guys,
I have an idea. - What?
- Why don't you just come with me to the island?
- No, m, no, no, no.
I'm going to Cabo. - Well, fine.
- Road to Cabo is closed for the next two days.
Terrible weather.
We could take your casita to lsla Reunion.
- No, no, no gracias, Jose, I'm good.
This casita's going here, okay.
. He)',
what's that?
- Those are Jorge's, how you say?
- Henchmen? - Si.
- What?
Okay, so,
just get the RV on the ferry,
and let's get out of here, pronto.
- What do you mean, uh-oh?
- Or you're not gonna see it again.
- Okay - Let's gm!
- Jefe, los perdimos.
- I don't understand.
Why are they already coming after us?
- Todd?
- I didn't really have a down payment,
so I kind of stiffed Jorge,
but when we sell the phones, after we get them back,
everything's gonna be cool. - What do you mean sell them?
I thought we were just delivering them.
- We're buying and delivering actually.
- Todd, you asshole. - Look, dude, Bryan.
Everything's gonna be okay, okay, I promise.
- I've got a bad feeling about this.
- We are gonna be safe out on the island.
- No, no, no.
I've got a bad feeling.
- What? - Oh no.
- What, no, come on, dude!
Go in the back!
- Okay, okay.
- Oh my god, tetra firma, thank god.
- Wait.
Hold on. There's no ramps or anything.
How do we get the rig up here?
- No roads on the island.
Only burro trail.
You can leave your casita on the ferry
until you're ready to leave.
It's okay.
- Actually, no.
It's not okay,
'cause I can't be away from--
- Let's just check this place, okay bro?
Dude, it's okay, alright.
It's okay, it's okay, stay.
Come on.
- Senoritas, senores,
welcome to La Perla.
Senorita Lisa?
- That's her.
- Welcome.
Your papa told me that you were coming.
I'm Alejandro, the hotel manager.
We have much to talk about.
But first, something to eat
for you and your lovely amigos.
Please follow me.
- Think they got WiFi here? - No,
I do not think they have WiFi.
- I better take this.
Hey,
Dad,
what's the haps?
- Hola, Bry.
Got you on speaker.
How's my favorite son?
I'm great, great.
Doing fine.
I'm pretty sure I'm your only son.
- Well, honey where are you?
By Dad's calculations, you should almost be in Cabo?
- Yeah, yeah you know what?
I'm right up the coast.
I'm at
a place called--
- lsla Reunion.
Sorry, sorry,
iffy connection.
Isla
Reunion.
- Isla Reunion?
Is that on the itinerary?
- No, you know what, it wasn't, but
I heard it was a great escape
for a couple hours, so,
you know, I just thought I'd stop by--
- Well, hey, no problem.
You take your time, we'll see you on New Year's Day.
- Great, perfect.
I will see you then.
Okie, dokie.
- Love you, son. - Love you, honey.
I could have sworn I heard a girl's voice.
' A QM'?
- Whoa, hands off amigo, these are my bottles.
- Pinche cabron.
Ever heard of sunscreen?
- Sunscreen is for pussies.
Yeah, what.
Uh-huh.
Are you shitting me!
That is seriously bad.
They kill you for that down here.
Where are you now, man?
Yeah, I know it.
It's nice.
Okay, just hang tight.
I'm on my way.
- So, what happened? - I'm screwed.
- Yeah, well, me too.
- I hardly think not getting a whale shot or whatever,
is the equivalent of having a contract on your life, Jess.
- Geez, Todd, you are so full of it.
- I just gotta figure out a way to get the phones back.
- Well, how are you gonna do that, because they are gone.
- Then I gotta figure out a way to pay Jorge,
'cause they don't mess around down here.
What?
- I'm sorry, but I gotta tell you.
You are so lame.
- Yeah, what do you mean?
- I mean, when your cushy trust fund dries up,
all you can come up with is some
two-bit scam that blows up in your face?
I mean, have you ever
cared, or
even thought of working? - What?
Why the hostility?
It's my problem, I'll handle it.
- It's not just about you, Todd.
There are other people
involved. - Alright, listen, listen,
I'm sorry, okay.
But everything's cool, okay.
I've been in worse jams than this before.
- Yeah, right.
You know,
I really wish that you would just drop the whole
slick facade.
'Cause you could be so--
- So what, I could be so what, Jess?
- Nothing.
- Jess,
Jess!
- Dona Maria,
the former owner when she was a young lady.
- She was so beautiful.
- Here.
The president of Mexico.
He used to come here
every single
VEar.
- How long have you been here?
- I was a boy,
a bellhop.
You should see
it was so nice.
- I'm never gonna make it to Cabo in time.
Oh, I'm screwed.
- I don't understand.
Why don't you just tell your parentes
that you'll be late because
you brought a bunch of friends, picked up a hooker,
and now a Mexican gangster's after your ass?
Tranquilo, relax.
Things are gonna work out.
- No, no, no, no, you don't understand.
Things are not gonna work out.
I'm doomed.
- You know what you need?
- What?
- You need to get loco.
Come on.
Come on! - Okay.
- The water is very refreshing,
especially on a hot day like this.
- Wow.
Yeah.
Just looking at it is relaxing.
Thank you, this is
just what I needed.
You know, I feel like...
Whoa, what are you doing? - Oh, we going for a swim.
'We'?
okay,
but,
how are we getting down there?
- Oh, no worries, it's so deep.
We jump on three, okay.
- Wait, no what?
That scared the shit out of me.
- Yes.
But it was fun, wasn't it?
Yeah.
- They took a ferry to lsla Reunion.
Reunion? Yeah.
The girl's father is friends with the owner
who died and left it to her.
- Nobody goes there anymore.
That place is worthless.
- Precisely.
Banco del Pacifico is about to foreclose.
- You know, get me Ramon on the phone.
- Yes sir.
La prophecia de Don Primo es verdad!
- Everyone a toast.
To the arrival of Senorita Lisa, our new jefa.
Our corazon.
- Corazon. - Here, here.
Amigo.
- Dios mio, it is as Don Primo said.
- Who's Don Primo?
Don Pedro.
Alvarez
Gonzalez.
At your servicio.
My friends call me
Don Primo.
- Don Primo is
a local curandero.
He predicted
that
the Winnebago
would save La Perla.
I think he meant
your RV.
- Yes,
Yes.
The great spirit
has sent you.
La Perla is surely saved.
Vivan los salvadores!
- I guess we shouldn't tell that we're in deep shit.
- No, no, no, just let them celebrate. I mean,
who knows, maybe someone will save us all.
- I will drink to that.
- So will l.
Uno segundo.
Hey, you got a couple pesos for the kid.
I'm kinda light right now.
- Sure, Burnout, here.
- So,
she says, "Would I?,
and he says, "Hair lip, hair lip."
You get it?
'Cause he thinks she's talking about his wooden eye, and
he feels self-conscious.
- This guy takes the word loser to a whole new level.
- You think?
Why did you choose such a class act
for your business partner?
- Look, I had never met the guy before.
Somebody that I trusted set me up with him.
Like, if I would have known-- - Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.
- At least we're hanging out, getting down with the locals
in our own private resort.
If you look at it that way, it's pretty cool.
Right?
- Yeah,
I guess.
. HEY-
You know what,
why don't you shoot this?
Right?
Like, it's real.
- I mean,
I don't know if it qualifies as the extraordinary, but
okay, what the hell. - What the hell?
- What the hell. - Hell yeah.
- It was really amazing yesterday,
jumping in the bay like that.
- You like?
- Yeah, yeah, I like.
In fact,
I was wondering if maybe you wanted
to try it again tomorrow?
. Okay'
but what about-- - Your fee, yeah.
Yeah, I wanted to ask you about that.
- What about it?
- Well,
as I'm sure you're aware, I'm racking up quite the bill, and
you know, I was wondering if maybe you would consider
going off the clock
a little while.
You know, like, like not charging me.
I mean, since we're not really doing it, or anything.
- You wanna do it?
Come on.
- Oh, no, no, I mean, yes, but...
I would, I would, but just not
like that.
- What do you mean?
- Well, I mean, I...
I guess that I just,
have to feel something.
And,
it might be nice if you felt something too.
- Pay my buyout fee, and I'll be your girlfriend full-time.
- That's exactly what I was talking about.
Look, I don't,
I don't wanna buy you, Carmen.
Your Dad didn't really sell you to that place, did he?
- Why, you don't believe me?
Bryan,
you are rich boy from Estados Unidos.
My family is poor.
In Mexico, it's hard to make money to survive.
Do you understand?
- Yeah, I get it.
- No, my father didn't sell me.
I went there, and I begged for a job.
I have three sisters lam supporting.
And I'm thinking maybe someday,
I find a nice man who can help me out.
- I understand. - Do you?
Sometimes, I think you gringos don't understand anything.
Just forget it.
- Just like old times. - ls it, Alejandro?
- Yes.
If only it could be again.
- Why can't it be?
- Oh, you are muy amable, Senorita Lisa.
But,
La Perla's time has passed.
There comes a time to let go.
- Maybe.
But,
maybe not.
Lorena, puede cantar para nosotros?
Yo no soy...okay.
Siempre contigo, hasta I'amanacer...
- Why are you stopping? - Yeah, no, keep singing.
I know you know that
Lorena song. - You must, you must.
Please, please, senorita, please.
- I'm gonna kill you.
You know that, I'm gonna kill you.
- Go, go, go, go, 90, 9ยฐ, 9ยฐ- - Okay.
- Mucho gusto, bonita.
- What?
What, no!
No!
Whoa, whoa, whoa, hey!
Hold on, what!
HEY, "0, no, no, no, wait!
Where you going?
- Oh, hey, I'm taking your rig back to Jorge, bro.
- No, no, no, please not.
I have to get the rig to Cabo.
- Yeah, that's cool.
Just pay Jorge back 50 geisels, and
maybe he'll let you have it.
- I don't have that kind of money.
I can get it to you.
Just come back, okay.
Let's talk this out, or something.
- I can't, bro.
It's a bad faith deposit.
Or something.
Mahalo!
' No!
No, hey!
No hey!
Don't take my...
Come on.
Come on, you don't have to tell Jorge.
Come on, just
bring it back, man.
Just
please
come back!
Please, we can work something out.
We can work it out, come on!
We're friends, aren't we?
We can be friends, come on.
Come on!
No, please.
B TY-
- Listen, brah, do not worry.
We are gonna get it back. - How?
- I do not know, yet, but we will.
- You told me that everything would be okay.
And it'd be totally fine.
I trusted you.
But now, my parents' half a million dollar rig is gone.
- Listen, listen, Bryan, I
promise you that we will get it back.
Please don't cry!
If you cry, I'm gonna cry. - I'm not crying.
- Perhaps
I can help.
- Go.
Qt;.
- Where exactly are we going?
A encontrar tu destino.
- To meet your destiny.
- Alrighty then.
- It's a good day to die, no?
- No.
No, no, not really.
Look,
Don Primo.
What exactly is this whole
vision quest thing gonna do to help me?
- Your problem
is in here.
You get the inside right,
the outside will follow.
- Right.
- Oh, sweet.
- It's not exactly extraordinary, but it's definitely fun.
- Definitely fun.
When you're done doing your thing,
can I borrow your laptop?
I gotta get online.
- Okay. - Okay, thank you.
I'll let you do your thing.
That goes there, and I leave.
- The world is not as it seems, my young friend.
- How is it?
Exactly
as you want it to be.
- I don't understand. - You will, hijo.
You will.
But first,
your old way of seeing must go.
Close your eyes,
and listen
for the voice
of the antiguos.
They will tell you what to do.
Quanta me cobra.
- Okay, got it.
Okay, so, good news.
Burnout said, Jorge will release the RV,
and give us time to pay back for the phones,
on one condition.
- Which is?
- That Lisa goes out with him. - What?
- With Burnout? - No, not with Burnout,
with Jorge.
He's got a thing for that singer, Lorena.
Lisa looks like her. - Well, well, you can tell him
that there is-- - That I'm on my way.
- Okay. - What?
You cannot be serious.
- Look, I'm an adult.
I can make my own decisions, and
I mean, not that it's anyone's business, but
I'm not gonna sleep with him.
And if I did, it'd be because
I like him. - See? Perfect
- And that I'm getting what I want in return.
- That's perfect. - Oh, good.
You know, there's a name for people like that.
- Sorry.
- No problem.
- Guys,
the bank is gonna foreclose on La Perla if I don't go.
I need to have someone help bail us out.
- Okay, okay, look.
The phones, the RV, even this place,
it is not worth compromising your integrity.
- Well, whoa, whoa, whoa, listen,
a little bit of compromise,
is totally okay. - Todd.
- Except for your integrity, I wouldn't do that.
Which reminds me, where's Bryan?
- Don Primo?
Great.
This is great.
Hello!
Hello!
Don Primo!
Fantastic.
Just fantastic.
Don Primo?
Don Primo!
Of course there's no service.
Of course.
I give UP-.
You win.
God, if you,
if you want me to die in this desert, then,
so be it.
It's out of my control.
It's out of my control.
Oh,
what?
What?
- I have been looking everywhere for you, are you crazy?
- Carmen?
You said to get loco.
- Come on.
Our swimming place is nearby.
- Are you still mad at me?
- I mean,
I was surprised as anyone about La Perla.
I had no idea that I was the owner.
- Yeah, what are you gonna do with it?
- Nothing.
You know, unless I can pay off the debt.
- Okay, well, if you could, what would you do?
- I don't know yet,
but,
it's such a beautiful place.
And the people,
they're so warm, so kind.
What are they gonna do if the place closes?
- It's really nice of you to
care for people you don't even know,
who wouldn't care about you
if they didn't see you as their savior.
I mean, I'm sorry to be so blunt, but
that place is just worthless.
There are no business opportunities whatsoever.
- Yeah.
I mean,
if'?
Quiet, and it's far away.
That's what I like about it.
- Okay, then it will be just our getaway.
- What do you mean, our getaway?
- You know, it's nothing for me
to take care of the problem with the bank.
I can give your friends back the RV.
. If?
- Wow.
Just because.
I'm not a bad guy, you know.
- Yeah.
Just a businessman trying to make an honest living, right?
- Yeah, something like that.
How about I just treat you to dinner.
Let's start with that.
. Okay-
- Thanks for saving my life today.
- Nah, you would have found your way back.
You weren't far.
- I'm sorry, it's just...
It's funny. - What?
- This, everything, I mean,
not a single thing has gone right for me on this trip,
you know that?
And I feel like I'm okay with that.
- Are you loco?
- Yeah.
Yeah, I think I finally went loco.
I'm muy, muy loco, senorita.
lam.
But,
I'm glad.
- You know what?
No matter what happens, I'm glad I meet you.
- Why?
- Because,
you are nice to me,
nicer than any man has ever been.
- You don't have to do this.
- I want to.
- I don't think I can afford it.
- No charge.
- So, were you close to your father?
- Oh, he was never really around.
This boat was our time together, you know.
- You know, I think he'd be really proud of you.
- I don't know about that.
- I do.
- Of course I miss you.
Yeah, yeah, it's going great.
I actually found the perfect spot.
It's gonna be like Cancun or Vallarta.
Of course I'm gonna take care of you forever.
I love you.
Okay.
Okay.
Lisa?
- Lorena?
Hola querida.
Is that you?
- Yes, it's me.
You're not dreaming.
- I'm not?
- Listen, we don't have much time,
but I'm here to tell you something.
- What is it?
- Lisa,
you've been sad for so long, but you don't have to be.
- I don't?
- You look outside for happiness, but
the light is within you,
always. Never forget that.
- Yeah.
- I love you, Lisa.
Everything will be okay.
' No!
Lorena, wait!
Do you think I'm crazy, Alejandro?
Absolutamente no, Senorita Lisa.
- It's not the first time that Lorena has been seen.
She has been known to appear when someone
prays for un milagro.
- Guys, she spoke to me.
. Okay'
So,
that is
very
mystical and cool.
But we still have to pay Jorge, and
get Bryan's RV back. - I mean,
I held up my end of the deal.
- No, Burnout says Jorge's pissed that you ditched him,
and the deal's off. - What?
- Yeah.
- Okay, great, now we really need a miracle, now.
Can Lorena help with that?
- She already did. - What?
- Okay, so just hear me out on this, okay.
People down here worship Lorena, right?
So, if it got out that there had
possibly been a sighting,
potentially, people could flock here by the thousands.
Do you not,
do you not get it?
Okay, so,
La Perla would be busier than ever, right,
we'd be rolling in the dollars,
we could pay off Jorge, get the rig back,
we do whatever we want. - Okay.
Todd, that is delusional, and crass,
and that's never going to work.
- Jess, I thought you said you wanted something
extraordinary.
You can film the entire thing.
- So, how exactly, are we gonna get the word out, though?
- Did it. - What do you mean?
- So, I sent my
hacker friend,
the video of
Lisa doing her thing,
and he uploaded it to YouTube
and all of the Lorena fan sites,
and it is spreading like wildfire.
Check it out. - Todd.
- I know.
- Es verdad. People are calling everywhere.
They think Lorena is alive and is here.
- Do you see?
- Todd,
Lisa is not Lorena.
- Maybe she is, maybe she isn't.
We never said that she was.
Opportunities do not come like this very often.
- Okay, okay, before we do this, let's just be clear,
we are taking Lisa's very
beautiful, spiritual experience
and we are going to misrepresent it
and exploit it for money.
- No.
We are going to give people what they want.
- Okay, but seriously though, we're wasting time with this.
I have to be in Cabo in three days with the rig,
in case you all forgot.
- Muchachos, listen to me.
There is no rule, except this.
Lorena said it, you have the light within you.
What does it
tell you to do?
- To save La Perla. - Yes!
- And my RV.
- And my film project. - And my ass.
' Arid Pay my buyout fee?
- Muchachos, we have much work to do.
Andale, vamos. - Yes.
Here we are again in La Perla,
where the spirit of Lorena,
Lorena herself, has allegedly made an appearance.
Could it be true?
- Reports are coming in
from an obscure corner of Baja California
reporting sightings of Lorena De Los Rios.
- Lorena meant so much to me, I'm gonna see her, oh my god!
- This young woman is not the only one
who wants to meet the spirit of Lorena.
Thousands of others like her are on their way
down to lsla Reunion.
This video, posted just last night,
has gone viral on the net.
Miracle or hoax, the sleepy Island of Reunion
is enjoying it's biggest renaissance in over 50 years.
- I can't believe people are falling for this.
We're going to Reunion.
- Yes, jefe.
- What are you doing?
- She needs to know.
Fotos de Lorena, fotos de Lorena, veinte pesos, veinte!
- Gracias, gracias, todos.
Thank you all so much for being here.
You don't know how much Lor-, I mean...
You don't know how much I appreciate
every single one of you.
- Patience!
Paciencia, por favor, patience, everyone.
Please.
Lorena,
must rest.
- Hey mom.
- Oh Bryan, finally.
Honey, we were starting to get very worried.
- Hey, yeah, no reason to be worried.
Things are good, things are great.
How are you, you guys good?
Hey, look, I was going to
ask you if you were still on track to be down there, here,
tomorrow.
- You betcha.
- Great, Dad, that is just
dandy.
But you know, if you wanted to,
Dad, I'm just throwing this out there, you could
come down a little bit later,
like next week.
Oh, no way. I can't wait to get to the beach,
kick back in the old RV.
We'll see you at the airport.
- Okie dokie.
- Gotta run!
- Bye hun, love you. - Love you!
- Smooth strokes, smooth strokes!
- I got it.
- Alright.
Final cut.
. Hey, hey.
I gotta hand it to you, bro, you really saved your ass.
- Yeah, dude, I definitely lucked out.
- No way.
That was a righteous scam you came up with.
I mean, you know-- - No, Burnout, it's not a scam.
- Yeah,
yeah right.
- No, seriously, Burnout, it wasn't a scam.
I don't scam people.
- Okay, whatever.
Dude, chill, I come in peace.
You and me, you and me, we're gonna do big things.
Big things.
- What does that mean?
- Hey, we're partners now, right?
You and me, we're gonna be rolling in the dough,
like the old days.
- Burnout, what do you mean by old days?
- Oh man,
I used to have this trust fund.
Talk about easy street.
But I burned through that puppy pretty quick, though.
- Yeah, dude, I had a trust fund, too.
- Whoa, you did? - Yeah.
- Far out!
You see, man,
you and me, we're like,
we're like, synchronized.
You are like the little brother I never had, man.
You are.
I mean, come on, you and I,
we're like alike. - No, stop, Burnout.
We are nothing alike, not even close.
Sunscreen.
Okay.
Say it.
- Sunscreen. - Sunscreen.
Thank you.
- This is bullshit.
- Douchebag say what? - Excuse me?
- You're supposed to say what. - No.
Seriously, Jess, what we're doing here is messed up.
- You think?
Wait, do you want to tell them the truth?
- I don't know.
Maybe we can just give them their money back.
- Yeah, but then what?
You've got-- - I don't know.
I'm still working that out. Muevanse, muevanse.
- Attention everyone.
My name is Jorge Ramirez, I'm the new owner of La Perla.
I have the note.
I bought it from Banco el Pacifico.
- No, hey, forget it, Jorge.
We have your money and the bank's.
- Too late, buddy.
Besides, that's not why I'm here.
Her name is Lisa.
She's beautiful like Lorena.
She dances and sings like Lorena,
but she's not some spirit back from the dead.
She's flesh and blood, like you and me.
- Just wait a minute, Jorge, look.
This is my fault, I'm sorry. - No.
It's true.
I'm not Lorena, but I never claimed to be her.
But I did see her, she spoke to me. I mean-
- Hey, people, don't worry, people.
Everything is under control.
Lisa...
Lorena--
- You're so stupid, you're so stupid.
Who are you kidding?
You can't save this place.
No one's ever gonna love you and you are so stupid.
Lorena?
- Si, hermana.
- Oh my god,
I'm so sorry,
I've made such a mess of things.
No, tranquila hermanita, - It's okay.
- What do you mean it's okay?
- No matter what happens, just know this.
You always carry with you the greatest gift.
- What is that?
- Love.
See the love within yourself,
and you will see it everywhere.
That is the miracle.
- Yeah.
Thank you.
- I love you, Lisa.
- I love you, too.
- Hey, what happened?
Un milagro.
- Don't worry, we're leaving, okay?
- What do you mean? - We're gone.
You got what you wanted, right, La Perla?
- La Perla is yours.
- What?
- China'?
Return the RV. - Yes.
- Jefe, you alright? - Never better.
Listen to me carefully.
I want you to sell everything.
And the casino,
give it to him.
- Whoa!
Major score.
- Wait, wait.
Lisa, wait, okay.
There's something else you should know.
- What are you doing here?
- Look a long time ago, when I was a young man, I came here,
and I did all the metal work here.
The owner,
Dona Maria, she was kind, sweet and beautiful,
and we fell in love.
She broke my heart
because she couldn't marry someone like me,
and so I left.
Listen, listen.
- What?
- About a year ago, I got a letter from Dona Maria,
before she died,
and she told me she had had a child,
and that I was the father.
That child's name was Lorena.
De Los Rios.
- Wait, you're saying that--
- Lorena's your sister.
She's your half sister.
Maria didn't want you to know
until you took full possession of La Perla.
She wanted you to have it.
- Muy bien.
- Bro,
bro, huh?
Bring it in. - Bro, not now.
- If you don't wanna talk to me ever again,
I understand.
But I saw what you saw.
- You don't think I'm crazy?
- No.
- Well,
I have to ask.
What about the woman that I heard you talking to?
- What?
- Come on.
The woman that I heard you talking to on the phone
the night after we'd been together.
You were telling her that you,
that you loved her, and that
you had found a place for the two of you together.
- Wow.
Oh my god, are you kidding me? - No, I'm not.
- That was my mother.
- What? - Yeah.
Look, I'm building a retirement villa for her
in Zihuatanejo.
- Really? - Yes, really.
I swear to god, there's no one.
What do you need me to do?
- Oh, there it is!
- Thank god.
- All's well that ends well, eh bro?
- I guess so. - Just right in time,
even to meet your parents down in Cabo.
- Yeah.
What's going on?
- They say the ferry's
low in the water because of the tide,
and the weight of the RV.
- Uh-huh.
And?
- They say she hit something, and now, leak, very bad.
- No.
No.
No!
No!
No, no, no!
- Yeah. - Dude!
Tell me this isn't happening.
- It's not happening.
- Tell me it's just a bad dream.
- It's just a bad dream. - You lie!
I'm sorry.
'Aah!
' Bryan!
- Hey, Bryan. - Bryan, Bryan.
Bryan. - Bryan.
- Hey, hey. - Bryan.
Bryan? - Come on.
I can fix this.
- You can raise the RV?
- No.
Something better.
- What?
- I think
I have finally found
m)! apprentice.
- He drove the old RV all the way down here by himself.
Bryan said he'd meet us at the front.
- Well, honey, you know we can count on Bryan, but
where is he?
- Nice costume.
Are you sure about this?
- Of course.
Don Primo has prepared me.
- Oh,
there he is.
- There they are.
- Bryan.
You look like you've gone native.
And who is this?
- Morn,
Dad,
this is Carmen.
- Mucho gusto.
- Believe me,
Carmen, the pleasure is ours.
- Well, honey, where's the RV?
- Well, I need to talk to you about that.
- Go ahead.
- The RV
is gone.
- Gone?
- Yes.
It's gone.
You see, it's kind of a long story, but--
It goes a little like this.
My friend Todd, he convinced me to take him
and these two girls that we knew from high school,
Lisa and Jessica, down to Mexico with me.
So, we went, and it was fine at first,
but then we stopped by this place,
and Todd met with this guy named Jorge,
and we had this little deal where
we were gonna take these phones,
and smuggle them down south.
And then Lisa, she inherited like a freaking
resort on an island,
and she was gonna go and check it out by herself, but,
we found out that the smuggled phones, they got stolen,
so, we had to kind of go away,
'cause Jorge was super pissed.
And so, we went to the island, and I like
went in out the desert, and I got lost.
And I went with this medicine man,
and he's a really nice guy, though.
We were gonna have a concert,
because everyone kept confusing Lisa for like this
dead pop star named Lorena, and
she died in a plane crash
in the Sea of Cortez, and everything, but
we had it.
We had this whole concert, it was great.
Raised a ton of money, but then Jorge,
he comes up and he's like, "No, too late.
"L have the deed," and then,
he, you know, outs Lisa, as like Lisa and not Lorena.
Everyone's like, "Oh, we don't really care," but then,
Lorena's spirit shows up.
Saves the day, Jorge changes his mind, gives us the RV.
But when it came in
on the barge,
it hit some rocks, and it sunk.
- Sunk?
- Yeah.
Yeah, the RV
on the ferry
sunk in the ocean.
- Well, that's what insurance if for, right?
- Right.
- All settled then.
You having fun?
- Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, I'm
having a really good time.
- He's having the time of his life.
- Honey, we are so proud of you.
- You are? - Oh, you're darn right.
Why, your mom and I, we were just saying
what Bryan needs is to get a little--
- Loco! - Yes!
Loco. - Exactly.
Exactly, hey.
Let's get loco, come on, take us to our hotel.
. Okay-
I mean, we have this.
It's all we have.
- Oh, how fun.
Oh, that's fun.
Honey, tell us about this medicine man.
And you know, indigenous cultures have
always been a passion of mine.
- That's true.
- Well, I finally got my whale shots.
And I blew off film school
to become a documentary film maker.
Todd is my agent, a perfect job
for a bullshit artist like him, don't you think?
He sold the video of our trip to the Adventure Channel.
- And now, another video
from that hot young filmmaker, Jessica Francis!
- Oh come on!
- Bryan and Carmen drove Josey and Hal
all the way back home, and they had the time of their lives.
Oh, and Bryan finally got,
well, laid.
Jorge turned over a new leaf.
La Perla was rediscovered,
and became a fabulously popular eco destination,
with Lisa developing a singing career in the process.
- Oh great spirit,
bless the gringos who have saved
La Perla.
May your wisdom guide them,
and may our goats grow fat.
Your ways
are a mystery.
- Mystery?
That's an understatement.
All I know is,
everyone needs a little La Perla in their lives.
And the great spirit, whoever he or she is,
has one hell of a sense of humor.
- 21!
Life is good!
Let it ride!
