-Reminding myself
just how lucky I am.

I remember when we
first started courting.

You wouldn't come
to the door.

I knew there was
something about you

worth coming back for.

I knew that first day...

outside the barber shop.

If I had known
way back then...

you're gonna turn this city,

maybe the whole South,
upside down...

-Would you have still
kept coming back?

-I don't know.

What you did on that bus
changed a lot things, Rosa.

Made a lot people think
about themselves...

about how they treat people,

about how they live
their lives.

-I never meant for it
to change us.

-I know.

But it did.

And even though it took me
a while to see it...

it was a good change.

-I really didn't do
anything, Parks.

All this to do about me
and that bus.

this journey began

43 years ago

when a woman named Rosa Parks
sat down on a bus in Alabama

and wouldn't get up.

She's sitting down
with the First Lady tonight,

and she may get up
or not as she chooses.
