Honestly, Hannah, I have
adored you for like so long.

I pride myself in being quite

the funny person and she picked
me for a comedy challenge.

So, I'm like, "Oh, my God.

I hope I can deliver
next this little bitch."

Hosting is like for me it's just
all about just being natural.

We think
we're funny on the fly.

It is a hosting

well with confrontation

and all the eyes are on me.

I kind of wanted to
level it out because

I didn't want two powerhouses

We are definitely working
around white privilege, being,

you know, person of color
with a generation X cisgendered

whites drag queen, you know
what I mean,

like the dynamic of that

and what that
kind of feels like.

The beauty and the thing that's
going to work without set

is how different we are,
that conversation

is such a strange
conversation in society.

-Yeah.
-And to me,

to laugh at that kind of stuff
is important,

because it sends a message.

I don't wanna overstep the mark
but I feel that like drag

has been rife with racism
and especially in Australia

how casually and normalized
racism is in our communities.

It's something that I've been
fighting against, you know,

like it's one of the few
queens of color in Australia

who's actually doing things
in mainstream spaces, like,

it's difficult because there's
none of us in the space to

have a conversation and,
you know, it's just done,

you know,
and never at the table.

And, you know,
I'm guilty of that as well,

like I've played
into that before.

Queen and Minnie’s brunch
set is talking a lot about race

and racism within our community
and the idea of white privilege,

and this does strike
something in me

that I've been working a lot on,

and trying to, to be a better
person, as a white person.

I have appropriated
[indistinct],

you know, I've done
a show in kimonos,

we did a pharaoh show,

an Egyptian show
and we had graves

and stuff like that, and I now
know and have been educated on

because I have people
like you in my life.

This situation
is difficult because

personally, I love her,
you know, she's my sister,

in this moment I'm
trying to hold space for her,

and listen to her because

I can see she's
not feeling the greatest,

but I'm also thinking about
the people that she's hurt.

In the, you know, we're trying
to pay tribute to your culture

it's like how do you pay tribute
to a culture that's been stolen

would you not then let
the people that come from that

culture tribute it themselves.

-Yeah.
-See what I mean?

That's why I've linked into
exploring the anti-racism

workshops and doing stuff like
that because I don't want to

make those mistakes again,
but it's about opening

-the spotlight, it's about...
-Sharing.

…going, yeah, sharing. Like,
I as a white person need to call

myself into account
and it's my job to listen,

take that on board
and figure out what I need to do

while I'd think that I'm
doing something good

it doesn't negate the hurt
that I've passed on to people

and the hurt that could come

from me being
on a show like this.

I know that I've made mistakes,

and I own that,
whatever I can do, I will do.

Most things about like,
you know, traditional dancing,

especially in my culture,
it's ceremonial,

my history is not written down

I come from a line
of talking chiefs,

they hold the knowledge
of where I come from…

or some in dance,

It's like these are literal,
like, ways of life that we're…

So, we don't forget
where we come from,

and somewhere in my language,

we don't have a word for sorry,

you don't apologize
for something by just saying,

This is the thing like people
are definitely able to seek

forgiveness,
but you can't demand it.

It's not about letting things go
it's about acknowledging

what happened
and moving forward together

and if the other people
aren't ready

to move forward,
you have to respect that.

into this competition,

I've been seeing the work
that you've been doing,

I've been seeing how much
of an ally you are,

and I know it's not
performative, you know,

and I know you've
been supporting me a lot,

you know, on line for years.

I think Hannah
has definitely learned

from her mistakes, you know,

and, I can't speak
for the communities

that she has upset, but I can,
in this moment,

being one of few queens of color
in this competition, look at her

and give her a realistic

conversation about
what she's done.

because you do inspire us all
