messed up my freaking knee.

[dramatic music]

to stop Craig's losing streak.

- But Colton and Ray

with flying colors.

- You guys are correct!

Pushing their earnings
to over $100,000 each.

- That's what we do.

- At The Lanterns,

Jodie contemplated
ringing the bell...

- I'm tired of hurting

and being sore,
and injured, bruised.

- But relented.

- Despite having
a double ear infection,

as much money as possible

for my charity
and finish what I start.

- And the celebrities
were sent back

into the jungle
with some cryptic words.

Everything you thought

there won't be any teams.

Celebrities will compete
as individuals.

earned will be tallied.

The top two earners
will go head to head

for an additional
$100,000 in the finale.

This is the order of how fast
you finished your time trials.

The lowest earner will be
automatically eliminated

from the competition.

the penultimate adventure

of the first
"Beyond the Edge" competition,

and believe me when I tell you

the stakes couldn't be higher.

You will
individually run time trials.

The good news,
regardless of where you place,

you will earn
a significant amount

of money for your charity.

For today's adventure,

the player with the fastest
time wins $30,000.

Second place, $20,000,

third place, 15 grand,

fourth place, 10K,

and even
if you finish dead last,

you still earn $5,000
for your charity.

After today's adventure,

we'll tally up
everyone's earnings,

and the top two players
who have earned

the highest total amount
of money will be the finalists.

The highest earner will
also have their first pick

as to who they want
on their team in the final.

Third and fourth
place finishers

will compete
on the top two earners' teams

and earn $50,000 if they win.

But here's the twist,

the person
with the lowest overall amount

of money earned
for their charity

will sadly see their
journey come to an end.

- We are all so shocked.

We're looking around
knowing someone is leaving.

[tense music]

- The end is near, my friends.

Here's where we're at.

Colton, you are in first

Ray, you're second
with just over $100,000.

Jodie, you're in third
spot with almost $48,000.

And Coach Mike and Craig,

you're separated
by the slimmest of margins.

- It's gonna be a close race
between Coach,

Jodie, and Craig
because right now I know Ray

and I are guaranteed
to be in that final.

- There are physical
and mental aspects

to this adventure,
so let's get started.

148 different species
of snakes call Panama home,

including the deadliest snake

in Central America,
the fer-de-lance.

For the first stage of today's
adventure, you will race

against the clock
to collect two snake eggs,

AKA rugby balls, in the jungle.

First, you'll traverse
the swamp to the snake pit

and dig out
your first ball.

Then you will hurry
to release the second one

from the end
of a rope brainteaser.

And then at the final stage,
you'll blindly throw your balls

over a wall, attempting
to land one into a net target.

You can peek before you
blindly throw the balls.

If you fail to hit a target,

you'll have to retrieve
the balls and try again.

As soon as you land a ball
in a target, the clock stops.

Jodie, what's your mindset?

- I'm gonna be honest,
I'm surrounded

by four athletes right now.

I'm not an athlete,
I'm not a runner,

I've never done time trials,
but I don't want to leave.

I'm gonna go out there
and give it my all, that's it.

I made it this far.

I couldn't be happier
or more honored that I made it.

of incredibly talented
and genuine men, so...

- I know all five
of us are about to give it

I haven't had this much
pressure since winning

my last freaking Super Bowl
with a torn freaking tricep.

[grunts]

This is a time trial.
Every second counts.

I need my left knee
to pick up.

If not, I'm done.

- Jodie,
your adventure begins now!

- ♪ Too hot to handle

- I want to win for
my charity, just one more,

like, just one more.

So I'm going to work my ass
off to win for Girls Inc.

[tense music]

♪

- I was gonna run into
the sand pit at full speed

with my shoulder,
and just crossbody it,

and just get it all
out of there,

but I didn't want
to mess up my knee.

♪

- Craig,
your adventure begins now!

- ♪ Well, I came
to move mountains ♪

- Coming into this adventure,
I'm in last place.

But you can't allow that
to dictate

your thought process.

You must approach
every adventure,

and not just what we're doing,

but in life,
with the desire to excel.

- Got it!
Don't stop, keep going.

Forget the knee.

On my other teams, you know,
it's been Coach, or Craig,

or Colton, or Ray being like,
"You got this, you got this!"

And so I have
to just yell at myself

in the middle of the jungle
that I've got this.

- ♪ Move mountains

- The first snake egg is hidden
in this giant pile of sand.

And when I tell you
a giant pile of sand,

it's like almost my height,
it's huge.

- I love figuring things out.

I looked at the puzzle.

Don't just grab it and just
start tangling stuff,

just look at the puzzle.

I'm telling you, it's tricky,
but it's not impossible.

♪

Okay, okay.

- Colton,
your adventure begins now!

[dramatic music]

♪

- These little muscles
are definitely not gonna

compete with Colton,
or Ray, or Coach, or Craig.

I feel like
they could just go...

and, like, wipe the entire
sand pile to the side.

But at the end of the day,
I will persevere

through whatever circumstances
get thrown at me.

- Put the rope
through a few times.

Understood how the rope
comes through,

and I was able to push it
back through the hole.

And as soon as I pushed
it through, the ball came out.

- Coach,
your adventure begins now!

♪

- Shoe came off.

Right away, boom,
I'm knee-deep,

and I lost my shoe.

Come on, baby.

- [grunting]

♪

- There is no one around me,
and for me to be competing,

and running, and pushing myself
with no one around me is rare.

That's difficult
when you don't have someone

to motivate you,
push on and get through it.

♪

- I don't have time
to completely stop

so I just take off.

I'm down there
playing a game.

Helmet come off,
I'm still playing.

That's what we do, we finish.

I am in the jungle
so a few sticky things

on the ground,
but that's okay.

I'm still in it to win it.

♪

- Oh, dang it!

♪

My run was good.

I thought the run was
gonna be a lot longer,

so I kind of paced myself.

That way I had lots of energy

to get that egg out
without any problem.

I feel really good
about where I'm standing.

♪

- My knee is killing me,
but I can do this,

and I'm willing to push myself
and be uncomfortable

in order to do something good

for something
that I'm so passionate about.

♪

♪ Hell yes

♪

- Here comes Ray, a man who's
been ballin' his entire life.

Will have two opportunities
to hit the net target.

He only needs to sink
one ball to stop his time.

He'll now slither through
the hole at the bottom,

not only to retrieve his balls,
but to survey the landscape,

make note of where each
of those net targets are.

Time is ticking.

Oh, he got it!

Nothing but net!

[tense music]

- If all we had to do is run,
and jump, and climb,

I'd be killing everyone
in this thing.

But you got to do puzzles.

I hate these
fricking stupid things.

I need
to get this puzzle solved

because we don't know our time,

we don't know how
everyone else is doing,

but we know tonight
someone's leaving.

[tense music]

- I hate
these fricking stupid things.

♪

By now, I'm really nervous
about my time.

Okay.

I'm not going home tonight

over a dang puzzle.

Ugh!

♪

And back through.

♪

- When I'm competing alone,
even without my shoe,

I could care less
about the other competitor.

I always think if they can do
anything near what I'm doing,

then they deserve to beat me,
but I don't think so.

- Me winning here has nothing
to do with my ego.

What do I got here?

But the money is
a big difference maker.

Every second here is
literally worth thousands

of dollars so I'm gonna
make them all count.

- Jodie emerges
out of the jungle,

and she is making a beeline

for that hole
under the wall first,

taking up some time
to make sure

she knows where she's aiming.

Seems to be gingerly walking,

and Jodie is using
the double hands.

And, boy, she's got a lot
of mustard on these throws.

- Oh, bounced it almost in,
but unfortunately

not a kind of bounce that...

- Come on, Jodie.
- Jodie would have liked.

A reminder,
if it bounces and ends up

in the net target,
it still counts.

♪

- Well, I'm so lost as hell.

I'm usually good at puzzles,
but this one

is starting to get to me.

My brain hurts
looking at this thing.

[monkey squawking]

- Hey, dude,
I could use some help.

Can I let the monkey do it?

He'd probably
have a better chance.

- I believe that I
was put on this Earth

When I think of the animosity
that we have as people,

the negativity, I'm thinking,
man, we got some issues.

And that's what my charity,
Changing Our Perspective,

is all about.

time trial adventure.

Immediately surveys the targets
that he will be aiming for.

- Now I just got to get
the ball in the basket fast

because if not, it could
get tight all of a sudden.

- Looking
for a teardrop shot and again,

going back to that well.

Bounces off.

- C'mon, Craig!

- Come on, Craig,
you got it, you got it!

- Landing close to the wall,
which will prove to be

beneficial for Craig
as he doesn't eat up

a lot of time
in retrieving them.

♪

- Ooh!
- [grunts]

- Got it!
- Good job!

♪

I think everybody else is
pretty much a puzzle person.

I am not.

I'm looking at it,
and I'm just wondering,

can I get through this thing?

[panting]

- Colton comes galloping in...
- All right, Colton!

- Looking to take
as few seconds

as possible to put one
of his balls in the net target.

♪

And got it with the bounce!
- Oh, my God.

It's very frustrating,

he's missing a shoe,

but that doesn't matter
right now.

He doesn't want

Craig, what is the experience

that you've had
here in the jungle?

- We've shown that a very
diverse group of people have

come together, lived together,
worked together,

competed against each other,

and done it with love,
compassion.

And our hope is that
when the world watches this,

that it gives them
a sense of hope

that they can do that too.

- I thought
I was gonna come out here

and hate all this.

I'm not an outdoorsy type.

When I came into this jungle
with these people,

I have found a love for nature
that I am going to continue.

- Are all of you glad that you
went out of your comfort zones

and decided to take
this unprecedented journey?

- The comfort zone is
the deadliest space

in anyone's life because
if you find your routine

in whatever job you're good at,
ten years later,

you're at the same place,
doing the same thing,

with the same people,
with the same complaints.

The jungle changes that.

And for me, I'm glad
the jungle shook me up.

- Colton, how has this
experience changed who you are?

- Obviously,
all this was uncomfortable,

but having cameras back
on me was really uncomfortable

because I still am trying
to figure out who I am,

and now I'm doing this
in front of America again.

- Why are you doing it
in front of America again?

- I just know if I would

and a little easier
for me to step into who I am.

really concealing love.
