Now knowing
that the variety show

standing between me
and the finale,

the stakes are high.

I mean, like, they are higher
than Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa.

I'm doing a dance
from where I'm from.

I grew up on this island
in Indonesia called Bali.

Yes. You grew up there?

-Yeah, I grew up there.

Between ages of, like,
three and probably nine

when we came back to the U.S.
I was born here.

Balinese dance has influenced me
since I was a child.

It was my first introduction
to all things extra.

You know, it's color,
it's music,

it's rhythm, it's spirituality,

and I definitely mimicked it
as a little boy.

This particular dance
is the only one

that can be done
by either male or female.

Oh, really?

Westerners refer to it
as "the androgynous dance."

This is an homage
and a love letter

to my family and to Indonesia.

I'd better do some stretches
or something.

You've been in the Drag Race
family five years,

and your life
has changed enormously.

Yeah, I went from
a small town girl from Alabama,

and I've traveled
to over 30 countries now.

Wow. How different is it
competing with all winners?

I have been blown away
at the caliber.

It's kind of crazy.

What would it mean
for you to win?

It would mean the world,

because I would be queen
of the freakin' winners.

-[laughs]
-I mean, hello.

-What charity have you chosen?
-Planned Parenthood.

There's so many amazing things
that Planned Parenthood does.

Not just reproductive.

They deal with,
like, sex education,

contraceptives,
cervical cancer screenings,

-and your mental health.
-Sure.

Like, there's
so many great things

about Planned Parenthood
that we need.

We need more of it,
and I just don't understand

why certain demographics look
at it like it's a bad thing.

Coming from Alabama,
speaking of demographics,

how is it that you were able to
sidestep a lot of those ideas?

Because I'm gay, honey!

-I'm a big old sissy.

I had to navigate that
my entire life.

[laughs]

I'm proud to be from the South.

I'm proud to be from Alabama
because of who I am,

how I've turned out.

Maybe there is some other
little kid in a small town

that is watching Drag Race,
and they're thinking,

because I've seen Trinity,
I can do that, too.

And all those kids
from around the world

will be watching you
and rooting for you.

This must be the longest period
of time you've spent in America.

It is, yeah, and it's showing.

You've always been a big fan
of U.S. drag.

Now, having lived
with all these queens,

has your opinion changed?

No. Do you know what's crazy?

The first couple of weeks
in the competition

I was so nervous.

People I've watched for years
and looked up to,

and, you know,
just the pinnacle of drag,

and now I know they're just
rotted, horrible drag queens

who are just exactly
the same as us.

[laughs]

Did you find it tougher here?

Yeah. You know, I think artists
always have a self doubt,

and it's healthy to have
a little bit of it, I think.

But I feel like
I've really held my own.

Three challenge wins.

How have I won
two lip syncs, please?

And the girl group challenge,

that's, like,
that was the one thing I--

-That was a big one for you.
-That was a big one.

Because you know
these American girls

can split, kick,
blah, death drop,

and I'm just like...

so proud of what you've done.

Now, what charity
are you performing for?

Trans Lifeline.
It's a trans charity.

It's a helpline, and they also
have offer financial support.

To have an organization

that knows how to understand
what trans people go through

is I just think
so, so important.

I'm doing a--like, a campy song.

It's an original song

about being from the South,

I'm definitely

And it's something that
I spent so much money on.

-Because you studied.

I went to college for it.

Before I discovered drag,

I went to school for opera
performance and music education.

Then drag came into the mix,

and being out in the club
all night

was not necessarily conducive

to a healthy operatic
singing lifestyle,

so I chucked it aside
and focused on drag.

I have a lot to prove.

I did that infamous talent show
in All Stars 4,

where I did not do a good job,

and I literally
can't even watch it.

is being able
to travel the world

and know that there's

you're performing for?

for Color of Change.

They are for the radical ending

of the mistreatment
of Black people

through the prison
industrial complex,

at your job,

whatever way they can come in
to impact systemic change.

Against Domestic Violence.

Is that near and dear
to your heart?

Unfortunately, it is.

Some of my earliest
childhood memories

are of, like,
watching my mom being abused,

and, like, growing up

and wishing
there was something I could do,

and then, like,
taking some of that abuse

to, like,
try and protect my mom,

since she couldn't do it
herself.

I would like to do
anything I can

to help make sure

that there are safe spaces
for everyone in your home!

During your season, we all
learned about your condition.

How are you doing?

It has been very difficult,

because with Ehlers-Danlos,

I'm feeling myself, like,
actively losing skills.

And, like, it's getting hard

to even
just stand up in heels,

which is a little ridiculous
for a drag queen.

The beauty is you can laugh
and you can find humor.

I mean, it's what
I've got to do,

because it's gonna
keep happening.

You have brought so much joy
to this competition

and to stages
all over the world.

I think there was moments
where I felt like

I had to kind of
tamper it down a little bit.

The religion and the faith

really kind of,
you know, affected

what my parents
tried to instill in me.

But, you know, my dad knew

that I was just
a free bird always, you know.

He was very, very proud
when I won Drag Race.

He had never seen me
do drag before that.

That must have been amazing,

not only for you,
but for your family.

Yeah. It still is.

I think my family really
still loves that, you know?

What good things
did you take away

from your experience in church?

Christian values are parallel

to so many other faiths',
aren't they?

It's just be nice to each other,
don't kill nobody.

I've chosen the National Center
for Trans Equality

as my charity.

They advocate
for the trans community,

and that really is
a special place in my heart,

considering that I've learned
drag mainly from trans women.

And what are you gonna do
for your talent?

Well, since I grew up in Bali,

I'm doing a Balinese
temple dance.

And I also think
it's my responsibility

to showcase my culture
as an Asian.

I'm the only American-Asian
winner of RuPaul's Drag Race,

and I think that's
a very important role for me,

and I might not ever
do this again.

Actually, I don't wanna
do this again.

It was big, bawdy,

and it was so fun to watch.

Yvie Oddly, a vision in pink.

I thought that little switcharoo
at the beginning was wonderful.

Though I will say I've had
bigger things in my box.

Just saying.

It was so incredibly fresh.

It was fantastic, and lyrically,
it was so exciting

and it had an amazing rhythm,
and you're just stunning.

I don't know where
you're getting your ideas.

They're just so uniquely you,

such a stand out on the stage.

You were giving us things that
were theatrical and gymnastical,

and I loved it.

Part of your charm
is that everybody's on edge

because we're thinking,
is she gonna kill herself?

But you didn't, and you're fine,
and you're fabulous.

This number means a lot to me,
because I got to call back

to some of the skills
that I am rapidly losing.

This was my, like, love letter
to all of the things

that I know I probably
cannot continue doing

for that much longer.

This is a literal
dream come true.

Like, I thought being here
the first time was it,

but, no, baby, this was it.

were really well crafted.

I just felt so inspired

My father, when he was alive,

loved to tell a story
about me as a little boy.

My family was at an airport,

and my family
lost me for a second.

And so they went searching
and searching,

and a few feet away,
little three year old Sutan

found a stack of suitcases,

and there I was dancing.

And so it was my dad's
favorite story to tell.

And I don't know if the aura
you feel is actually me.

that was a beautiful way

to share so much of herself

that I really hope every artist

gets to experience
with their work.

It was so smart and beautiful

and stunning
and culturally relevant.

She shared something very deep
and very personal with us.

She didn't have to do that,
but she allowed us in,

and she was extremely
vulnerable with it.

And Yvie Oddly
is undoubtedly one of,

if not the leader of this new
wave and this next generation,

and she's doing it
perfectly to me.

You are absolutely right.

She is breaking down
the barriers.

In fact, when I started drag
in the 1800s,

I was doing this gender
F-word punk rock style,

and Yvie has continued on
that tradition.

She's just so darn unique.

It's hard to compare her
to anybody else,

because what she does
is so authentically Yvie.

But this was some next level ish

that we saw tonight
with Shea Couleé.

I was watching
a global superstar

do her thing on the main stage.

Yeah, it was truly
like time travel.

Everything was so perfectly
in that nineties sweet spot,

and she executed it
so wonderfully.

Her choreography was so tight
and punchy and syncopated,
